Stefan de Marco was looking for a position... again. Being a high scoring magical anchor was only useful in his world when he had someone to partner with. His slender body and elfin looks meant he was usually only chosen to anchor people who believed his duties should extend well past working hours, and that wasn't something Stefan was interested in. Taking a chance on a pleasant man he met at the Magic Council job board one day, Stefan finds himself in the upmarket side of town, but as he listened to a gruff voice in an adjoining room, he had a horrible feeling he was making another mistake... or was he?

Lucifer Fireborn never claimed to be a nice person. Working as the Lead Steward for the Magic Council, it was his job to track down criminal magic users and bring them to justice. Finding out that Darwin, his younger brother and long-term anchor, had gone and allowed himself to be claimed by his magical mate was the sort of annoying distraction he didn't need. Especially when he receives word Technic, a criminal he has been tracking for three years has surfaced in Cairo. Darwin recommends Stefan as a suitable anchor, but in Lucifer's head the man is too young, too pretty and would prove too much of a distraction.

Shootings, fires, and kidnapping are all in a day's work for someone like Lucifer, but when sparks of a different kind start igniting between Lucifer and his new anchor, he feels the Fates have an agenda of their own. Can Lucifer and Stefan find the bad guy and win the day, or will Technic have the last laugh after all.

TRIGGER WARNING: Please check the Author's Note in the "Look Inside" option for the trigger warning for this story.

This is a Male-Male fated mates romance story with a guaranteed HEA, just like all of my stories. It contains a spot of violence, some bad language, and graphic scenes of an intimate nature and is suitable for adults only.

Rape victim blame isn't cool. Author tried and did ok for a while, even did some no means no messages and themes for most of the book.

And then, just took it all back.

You don't have to be ok with being raped. I hate that people say that. "Let go of all the hate" Or "you should have known better. "

Um... Fuck off. You don't get to tell people what to do or how to feel you slimy newt. You don't have to forgive people for doing horrible things. You're allowed to be emotional and nobody gets to fucking tell you how to be.

Listen. Even if you're butt naked in public on a seedy side of town, No fucking means No. No matter what. Nobody has the right to violate another person period.

Also was a bleh story even without the concerning rape stuff.

I usually love Lisa Oliver's books, but this one didn't much work for me. It had the usual: true mates, insta love and a bit of suspense. The book was decently edited as well. Since it's a possible beginning for a trilogy, I maybe wanted more background and world building, but there was nothing but vague mentions of a Council. It was not enough for me. I didn't feel transported into the world at all. Also I really disliked Stefan. His actions didn't correspond with the character description from the blurb. After all that he has been through I expected him to behave in a more dignified way. Instead he threw temper tantrums and walked off as soon as he deemed something wasn't to his liking. It read very infantile to me. The entire book events happened in the course of the week, and I get that Lucifer and Stefan were true mates, but the way Stefan treated their mating was off. How do you demand total devotion and everything after only 3 days? Even I found it a bit far-fetched. Some events were made to fit, some were rushed. The story had good potential if some things were added and the pace slowed down a bit. Overall, I liked some cute moments and the possible potential. It just needs development, is all.

I'm marking this as steampunk because it's got a bit of that but it's in modern times.

So I bought this by accident. I was in the kindle book store and I didn't mean to click on it, but I somehow managed to buy it so though, alright, I'll try it. Surprise. I loved it.

This is set in a world where magic users need an anchor to control their magic otherwise it's just running lose. Stefan is one of the strongest anchors out there but after his first mage died, he's been homeless and finds mages all want him in bed and after being raped and nearly drained by a smooth talker when he was young, he'd rather sleep under a bridge than be used.

Lucifer is a hot shot magic police officer (of sorts) whose brother is his anchor. But now that his brother has mated he needs a new one and is so freaking obnoxious, (he's an asshole who admits it) sure these young anchors just want to get close to him. Once he realizes he can't work without an anchor and a former agent he's been chasing for 3 years is in Egypt and who Stefan is, he sucks it up and sort of apologizes and off they go to Cairo chasing down the bad guy.

There is lots of evil spirits and demons and death and rapes and betrayal and also some social justice as society thinks anchors are beneath them and are a lower class and when Stefan is shunned by high society, Lucifer lets them have it and stands up for anchor rights.

So lots going on and there is an on-going arc with a group called the Brethern who believe they don't need anchors and can absorb their magic and rule the world. It's a lot but it's all pretty clear and sets things up moving forward. It's def. a HEA for Lucifer and Stefan but now they get to work together to chase down the baddies. (I was a bit annoyed with how Lucifer's brother treated Stefan after they were mated - but I suppose he had his reason and I liked how Stefan didn't take any shit and stood up for himself.)

So I quickly flipped through to find the published date and ... July 2020. Shit. Mean the next one won't be out for a while. But this is one of the best slips of a finger in kindle I've made. If you like magic and action it's worth checking out.

I don't know how to review this one...

I enjoyed it, and i firmly believe that this had so much potential, sadly it wasn't enough for me. BUT, this is a trilogy so maybe it will get better as the other books come out and we can learn more about the dynamics and the world itself.

The romance was fine I guess, I never felt the love or the connection, but somewhere along the lines it happened, the "I love you" happened and well, I didn't see it coming, but that is that.

The magic part was the most interesting to me, and even though we saw a lot of Stefan's power, I hope the next one shows more of a balance between the two main characters, because the book always talked about Luc as the most powerful wielder of the magic sword, but i didn't see it.

Crossing my fingers for the next one! 🤞❤

Had some doubts in the beginning because of Lucifer's shitty behaviour, but he made up for that. Turns out his brother Darwin can be a shithead too. But it was a very intriguing world, that I definitely want to know more about.

An interesting concept that reads like a first draft of a fanfiction. That's not inherently bad, but it is obvious in all aspects of execution from world building to character relationships.

It has some pretty horrendous messages relating to rape survivors - it tries to be affirming, but fails. If this is something that you are sensitive to - give this book a pass.

Also, I just don't like the main character Lucy. He makes this big huge deal about being an experienced adult, but acts like a rage driven hormonal teenager with almost no empathy or impulse control. Stephan deserves better.

Maybe subsequent books in this series are more polished. Maybe the characters are so terrible as humans in this book to give them something to grow from. I don't know right now, and I'm not super motivated to find out.

I've read other books by this author that had similar "early draft" feels, but I liked the characters a lot better, and they didn't have the shitty victim blaming message, so I enjoyed those a lot more. I'm the sort of reader who needs to like the POV character, so take that grain of salt with my review.

Great

I’ll admit Lisa Oliver is my happy place and I throughly enjoyed this one.

I loved Stefan. He was feisty when needed and yet empathetic as well. His past was hard to read and it was a credit to him that he just kept moving after so many a knocks.

Lucifer was harder to get to know as at the start he was pretty unlikeable. He changed as the book went on. But he needed an personality adjustment. I did pick the baddie pretty early but that didn’t take away from my enjoyment.

I’ll admit that I was pretty disappointed with Darwin and Monty. Darwin’s started off as being nice and sympathetic to Stefans past and then half way through the book had a personality transplant and became someone who was a times unlikeable.

Looking forward to the next one

I liked the premise of this book and series, with high magic users and those who anchor them. That anchors, particularly those who are not from wealth, are treated mostly as second class citizens with minimal rights is a stress point for me and I would guess for anyone who believes in equality. The structure of this society and the indignities—and outright cruelty—that Stefan has endured had me solidly on his side.

Lucifer came across as entitled, arrogant, and a bit annoying. Along the way his attitude starts to change, but too often he reverts to being kind of a jerk. Discovering he and Stefan are fated does help temper his attitude, but it was aggravating how easily he would slip back into his old ways.

The story does provide some good drama and action, though it did feel like when it came to an intense showdown that things were resolved a little too quickly. I was hooked enough though that I wanted to see where things would go through the subsequent stories. Confession though? I wasn’t feeling any real emotional connection between Stefan and Lucifer. The physical one was there, just not an emotional one that I would expect with fated mates.

Great new world

So excited when a new Lisa Oliver pops up. Always an auto buy, even if I don't like a particular story, it's never a disappointment, and I never feel it's a waste of money. I know I will always get a well written, professionally edited story. I always feel I am getting my money's worth.
I just loved this new world and I am intrigued to learn more. I loved the evolution of both main characters. I also loved that mistakes were made on both parts, the story felt balanced. This was a fresh take on magic users. I feel there could be a lot of options with other books in this series, and more things to learn about this world. Can't wait for the next one.

This book was a bit hard to get into in the very beginning. I really liked Stephan, but Lucifer was really hard to like. He was so full of himself and obnoxious. Luckily, he changed over the course of the book and I came to really like him and how he stuck up for Stephan as the book progressed. I found the story itself interesting, but I also felt that the confrontation at the end to be a bit predictable. All in all, it’s a good start to a new series and I am looking forward to the next one. A big thank you to my friend who lent me her copy. I would have probably missed it otherwise.

Isn't the cover supposed to, like... represent the book? And by represent I don't mean catch readers, I mean I can look at the cover and have a fair idea of what to expect, right? Disheveled lady in a dress, probably draped over some muscled guy? Historical romance. A guy without a shirt (and maybe without his face visible? which is, yes, objectifying)? Contemporary romance! Spaceships? Sci-fi.

What is that guy doing on a magical world book? I realize this has a fated mates trope but really, until a certain point, it was such a solid, respectable almost-urban-fantasy. Which, if you don't know, I adore and respect. And yes, I guess later it, it was weird and not that smooth and the romance, well, the relationship was suffering the natural effects of trying to accept the fact some guy is supposed to be your soulmate and you need him to work your magic and yet you literary and figuratively don't know anything about him.

In a way, I liked the whole idea of anchors. I did consider this concept before - great for romance - cause someone is a really powerful individual yet they are pretty much useless without that one person to spark their magic.

And I was in a weird mood but was actually really enjoying and gaining respect for the book... until... well, I still do like this and will probably continue exploring this author thought 60 books?!?!? Sorry, but I have little faith in authors with that many. It means they wrote and published more than 1 or 2 books a year and... I may complain, fake complain, when I have to wait a whole freaking year for another book but that is actually just the reasonable amount and if you go from this premise, spending less time on a book just seems like it should not produce the same results. Unless you're someone like mad-skillz Cole McCade but is that really the case here?

I am not sure and right now, I'd say this may become a solid 3/4 stars line strander. Some stuff seems really good, some just average, some just plain... let's not smear the issue.

Even the romance aspect was just that - a part of the book and I was surprised when the whole "catching the bad guy" took such a back seat, because I like a certain balance in my mixed genres romances (like detective romance or fantasy romance) and this was good... until it wasn't.

Especially the end felt hurried and... fake? Like, HEA on speed? And really, consistency is actually nice and if I was supposed to compare the MC - love interest? At the beginning and at the end... I just have to moan (and not in a good way) at those personality transplants. Love is great, love can be transformative, love is powerful as motive, as an emotion... if you actually are convinced "This Is It", which is really hard to pull of in a book that takes place over not even a week and in that week, some... stuff... let's say shotgun wedding seems slow and drawn-out, compared to that.

Having said that, I am not yet discounting the authors has talent and while she does seem to have a surprising/suspicious number of books with threesomes and mpreg, I do recommend this book and will try to find out just how good she is.

-------
Update: I will try it, once I got over the fact this is pretty much the nicest cover out there. And it was already not that interesting. Because I am not sure who or what is picking up the rest but if I was going by my rule or "if you don't have the good taste to get a good cover, you probably don't have the writing skills to interest in me in what is inside it", I would absolutely did not give her books a second glance. The web address of her web says it all and I am not sure her type of books are for me but... well, guess I'll see.

A bright connection

A very well realized magical world with a pair that both are and aren't a perfect match and lots of work ahead!

In this world where magic is normal and tested, there are two types of magic users; high magic users and anchors. A high magic users cannot perform magic without an anchor to siphon the excess and stop harm, and an anchor cannot perform greater acts of magic. This dynamic has lead to the suppression of the entirety of anchors. They are given next to no rights, living a life where as soon as they are tested positive they may not take any other job and any job they do take as an anchor leaves them at the whims and desires of their magic user. Anchors can also be drained of their magic through sex, which they themselves get blamed for in the case of it happening. Through all of this higher magic users simply continue on, with more rights and prestige, the beloved public face and untouchable in their actions.

Stefan is an anchor and it hasn't always been an easy life. Determined to live a life where his actions are his own choice has lead to quitting multiple anchor positions when the expectations of sex and more come up time and again. Though strong and resourceful he has found himself homeless and food insecure more often than not. His most recent job attempt has him paired with the powerful but rude Lucifer Fireborn. Stefan realizes the man is his mate but this doesn't bring joy, instead fear and depression as being ing tied to such a man will leave him living a shell of a life where his own needs and desires will always be secondary to his mate's. But the case is important and people are dead, so Stefan is determined to do his best anyways.

Lucifer is cocky and powerful, as well as pissy that he has to find a new anchor who isn't a family member. Lucifer doesn't like the fawning he gets for his status outside of hookups and expressed that to Stefan without knowing anything about the other man. Realizing that Stefan is talented, powerful in his own right, intelligent, and kind have him scrambling to fix his initial mistake to have the man anchor him. Realizing that Stefan is his mate has him hopeful, but unwilling to force the issue. However, when it comes to the case Lucifer is his usual forceful self, a real bull in a china shop deciding how they will solve the case and what actions they will take. Between the threats to their lives and the lack of communication it isn't a good start for the pair, and the demon threat isn't making it any easier.

This was a really interesting book that took on a crime where those who are the victims are often seen as less. The victim blaming and power imbalance of the world is readily evident and it popped up in some of the most unexpected places. There was more than just an investigation on a single crime going on, it was also about the general problems of the world. As such, the book did not end on the resolution of the particular case. There was still more work for this pair as they deal with the greater problems they will be exposed to as a mates pair and what it can mean to change it all. It promises changes in the world that will be hard fought for, and intriguing new cases for this strong pair. Looking forward to seeing where it all goes!

3.5⭐️

I discovered Lisa Oliver last year and have read almost 20 of her books. So it is safe to say I enjoy quite a bit of her output. Her stories usually have the insta love and fated mate variety which is not always done well. In her case she has more hits than misses in my opinion. Though they might come off as formulaic they have enough of a distinction and variety in them to keep my interest. Her Infidelity Clause was one of my faves from last year and I also enjoyed the Arrowtown series.

When I first read the synopsis to Illuminate I thought it was similar to another series of her - The Necromancers Smile, and in truth it sort of is. But I liked the structure and plot in this better. It might be because the author has a few more books under her belt since then or its just that I was more receptive to this story at this time. Probably a combination of both.

The relationship between Stefan and Lucifer (the name choices sometimes are cringey in Lisa Olivers books but I think they are a part of the charm of her stories) was as mentioned above, formulaic. they both feel instant attraction, one of them or both of them fail to communicate and figures out can't do without the other after putting their foot in it and later reconcile. My writing that probably makes it seem like I am mocking this trope or that I didn't like it. that might be the case in some books, but here it worked in the context of the background that Lisa Oliver gave the two MC's. The people I found most annoying were Lucifers Brother and his mate for their lack of support and the callous way they mentioned breaking the mating between Stefan and Lucifer.

The mystery was OK. It brought the plot forward and set up the next book and provided closure for a few things from our MC's past which was great.

The story feels like it is set in a steampunky world with Stefan calling his dad, a watchmaker, a tinkerer and him making intricate mechanical bugs and birds. But it is a world steeped in magic along with the technological advancements of our times. I am looking forward to seeing how the dynamics between Higher magic users and their anchors plays out in the next books and how the issue of the anchors being treated as second or third class citizens is addressed. There is already a secret or not so secret society being mentioned in this book that I am pretty sure will be addressed in the next couple of books.

Illuminate (Magic Users of Greenford 1)
By Lisa Oliver
Published by the author, 2020
Four stars

In a magic-filled world there are users and anchors. Users have all the prestige, but they can’t operate without their anchor. Although they’re essential, anchors are treated as second-class citizens, and heavily restricted in what magic they themselves can do.

Meet Lucifer Fireborn, a powerful magic user, and also the scion of an old and wealthy family in Greeford. For all his life, his younger brother Darwin has acted as his anchor. But now Darwin has found his fated mate, a powerful user named Monty Duncan. Now Lucifer—called Lucy by his brother to irritate him—needs a new anchor, and Darwin finds him the most celebrated anchor in town, Stefan deMarco.

Lisa Oliver sets up her magical world ingeniously. There is an inherent flaw in the restrictive rules applies to user and anchors; and an unfair hierarchy that denies anchors basic human rights. By presenting Stefan as an exceptionally powerful anchor, she destabilizes the status quo. Making Stefan the fated mate of the most arrogant and well-known magical crime-fighter in Greenford, the author sets her narrative on a rollercoaster path, filled with adventure, danger, and romantic struggle.

Lucifer is lonely. Stefan is scarred by past abuses. Lucifer has never loved anyone other than his little brother. Stefan has been without love since the loss of his parents. Watching these two young men come to grips with their new relationship is as much fun as following them on their quest to track down a magical criminal and solve a string of murders.

And it’s the first of a series.

4,5*

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:
A 3,5* is clicked with a 4* but in review marked as 3,5*:

5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow-Away-book like ‘Jesse's Smile’ or ‘Joey’ from Angelique Jurd, ‘Save the the kids’ series
from EM Leya, ‘Love’s Tethered Heart’ from C.L. Etta or ‘Liberty’ from Seth King),
it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often reread and is a WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises (like most of Andrew Grey books and Davidson Kings 'Haven Hart'-series)
it's like an A

3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few times (most romances where you can enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in
hospitals). I can recommend them definitively!
It's like an B+

3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader (2-3 times a year),
it's like a B

2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time-reader (I wouldn't recommend it heartily, but it was ok)
It's like a C-, D

1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an absolute NO-GO). It's like failure in the
whole line, dismissed, repeat the class

Paranormal romance with the twist of MM

I honestly don't know what to write as my review. The storyline has all the hallmarks of a good book but for me it falls short of truly capturing my mind.
Its a good plotline, but I couldn't connect with the characters, they seemed a bit flat and predictable. Also, I felt it was quite naively written despite the MM action, despite the descriptive sex scenes and despite the cursing it just felt more like a YA book.
I imagine that if you have read previous books by the author then you are aware of her writing style, for me, it doesn't work.
That said, the plotline is good there are no grammatical errors and the editing is fine even if some of the dialogue felt stilted.
There are plenty of sex scenes, each of them appropriate and consensual.
My one main complaint is that the author's warning on potential triggers only appears once you have purchased the book and that felt like cheating to me, I would want to know the type of trigger before I bought the book.
For those who would need the information, it is male on male rape and also male on female rape.

DNF at 45%

I’ll own my bias up front: I’m not a fan of fated mates or insta-love (both are heavy here). But sometimes I still read them and even enjoy them. This? Not one of those times.

A few lowlights:

- Victim blaming. Always a bad look, and here it’s paired with a disturbingly casual approach to rape — from the vocabulary to the tone, it’s all treated like a minor inconvenience.

-World-building? Basically non-existent. We’re just thrown into the thick of it with no context given.

-Lucifer. Oh, boy. First, he won’t shut up about how young Stefan is and how mature and adult he himself is. Except… he behaves like a hormonal teenager

-The sex scene (where I stopped reading. Thanks, Lucifer). Stefan asks for a conversation; Lucy decides talking is overrated and goes straight for sex. In his head, he’s all about “doing his mate justice,” but in reality, he’s just following his dick. And this is after knowing his mate has a history of SA, yet he gives zero care, no prep, and, I kid you not, says “magic will take care of it.” Yes, please, give me nothing. That’s not “alpha male,” that’s just gross.

Fantastic start to this trilogy

Life hasn’t always been easy for Stefan de Marco (an anchor). Homeless, hungry, and in need of a job Stefan finds himself outside the office of Lucifer Fireborn (Lead Steward for the Magic Council). Let me tell you, Lucifer is a piece of work. I wasn’t sure if I was going to like him. He can be inconsiderate, self-centered, and only interested in solving the 3 year investigation. Such a contrast to the sweet, empathetic, and loving Stefan. Even though Lucifer and Stefan come from different sides of town and appear to be total opposites, with one touch these two realize they are fated mates, with chemistry sparking like fireworks.

Bad magic users trying to go back to the old ways, unfair treatment of anchors, demons, suspenseful investigation, new mates trying to navigate their new relationship, this book has it all. I’m excited for the next book and more adventure with Stefan and Lucifer.

Highly recommend this book!

Light, quick read

The story was a quick read and didn’t have any trouble keeping me reading until the end but it was a little hard to believe they should be a couple.
Stephan was down on his luck with his mate, Lucifer, not really being much of partner or mate through most of the story. The other magic users (like Lucifer) needed anchors to safely use their magic but I could not really figure out why the anchors needed the other magic users. Other than, of course the anchors being second class citizens in the eyes of the law and only job an anchor could have was working for a magic user. Anchors could use their magic anytime without apparent side affects, at least Stephan could. Don’t see why Stephan could not have covered his arms and gotten some other, non magical job.

Enjoyable

I'm a little bummed about the cliffhanger in the epilogue, and one portion of the ending felt... a little out of character. A little rushed. But that was after the main conflict has been resolved, and plays more of a roll in crafting the overarching story.

Most of the book is well paced and well edited. The main characters are engaging. There's the big grumpy one and the smaller feisty one, and some angst. There is mention of sexual assault, but not graphic, and mostly in the past . This Is Fated Mates, so while it's not insta-love, it's within 72 hours love. Worked for me. I liked Stefan immediately, and Lucifer grew on me quickly. (It did make me think of K.J. Charles' Stephen and Lucien, though. Still, if you like this one, you'll liked that one, and can read it while we wait for the next in this series.)

Illuminate is the first book in what will be a trilogy about Lucifer, a high level magic user, and Stefan, his magical anchor.

The book includes fated mates and a different world building than known previously in other works of this author.

The duo essentially work for the "government" in law enforcement for magical folks. Let me tell you the case in this one is a nasty one.

Lucifer, the quintessential bad boy, was a fun character and he grew a lot as the story evolved. That was mostly due to being fated to Stefan his new anchor. If Lucifer is the bad boy, Stefan is the good one with the heart of gold.

Most of the case is wrapped up at the end of this one, but not all of it and it appears it will continue in book 2.

Lisa, you've done it again!

I took a chance on this book because someone wrote it was ..sort of a cliff hanger. It is ,however the crisis in the story did have a fair and decent resolution. The final chapter sets up the next adventure. It was good to see Lucifer have a change in attitude and I expect we will see more of that. Stefan is a small man with great power and a strong sense of self. It will be interesting to see how these two grow together.
Once again cannot wait until the next one. Great job Lisa .Your books are some of the few I will buy even if I don't have a gift card.

An amazing new spin on magic users and their mates

I love Lisa Oliver's books and she's always a buy when I hear she has a new book out. Illuminate put a new spin on magic users and their fated mates and the how their world's works. It is a compelling and twisting story. Love the main characters exspecially Stefan who is spunky, sweet, and not afraid to go toe to toe with anyone for what he believes. Lucifer is kind of stuck on himself at first but love has a way of opening his eyes. I hope you even join this book as much as I have and I can't wait for the next in the series.

One of the best!

This is one of Lisa Oliver's best stories to date. The world building was fantastic. The main plot was a bit less than fantastic but... meh. Still one of my favorites. Stefen was AMAZING. I love a truly competent MC. At every point stefen was like "problem? I got this" even when he was freaking out for pretty understandable reasons. Lucifer was one of Oliver's better mates. He was a butthole and made some mistakes, but he got his head out of his crack pretty quick compared to some of her other couples.

Incredibly enjoyable. Definite re-readability. I TRULY can't wait for the next installment!

Most excellent

I love the fabulous imagination that provides all of these wonderful characters to us. This was a fantastic introduction to a new works with an interesting magic system. Luc and Stefan were certainly made for each other, and I loved how they (but especially Luc) learned to respect each other's accomplishments and talents.

I was a bit worried that Darwin was going to be a disappointment to Lucifer with his attitude. It was almost like he was living up to his name and auditioning for the Darwin Awards. But he and Monty came through, in the end, and I'm excited to see where these four go.

Excellent

I really wasn't going to get this book but there was something in the blurb that hooked me. The dynamic between Lucifer and Stefan was really believable and the fact that Lucifer didn't just have an immediate change of heart and attitude made it even more real. They had to work at 1st being friends of sorts and build up trust and respect for each other then work hard at falling in love. If I had one problem it was with Darwin's feeling toward Stefan changing so quickly back and forth between an almost friendship and a lot of animosity towards his brother and Stefan. On the whole this is a fantastic read and I cannot wait for the next book to get here.
