Us and everything else is just that. Us and everything around us. The poet, Francoise Helene has beautifully created these works of art that describe everything from heartbreak to a lazy Sunday morning. From being a working mom to simply watching nature as it passes you by.

Especially talking about the time, it takes to read this book, despite it being just 156 pages, I would suggest that you take your time. This book is a perfect coffee table companion where you take your time and read one poem a day. Maybe re-read a few. Feel them for I am sure every one of us can relate to every single poem on there.

I can visualize myself with a hot cup of chocolate on a cold rainy day sitting by the window and taking in her words, pondering over them and letting them fill my heart with nostalgic memories or realizations of the present.

A Random but Lovely Read

I occasionally and with no preparation pick a KU poetry book to peruse. I like the cover on this one, so I gave it a read. I do admit the writer wasn’t what I usually prefer in poetry, and it lacked a personal preference for prose, but the thoughts and heart were still ever present. Many passages felt like they were written for the season I’m in, so I empathized and humanized with her. A lovely little read.

A beautiful book of poetry that wraps you in its words and melody. Different poems for different days and the other parts of you. Read and step your way through.

Francoise’s poetry has a tendency to transport oneself into the poem itself making you feel all the emotions and words as if you yourself is experiencing a new magical world created by the author. You live the life you never thought was possible and reading these poems makes one feel like you stepped in your own version of Narnia.
