Lady Felicity Greene is perfectly content living the quiet life on her family’s Suffolk estate, but when two men turn up claiming to be interested in purchasing a racehorse from her father, the peace is broken. It doesn’t matter how handsome one of the men is, there is clearly something foul afoot, and Felicity is intent on finding out what is it.

Jack Rockall would do anything for his friend and business partner Ian, including agreeing to accompany him to the Marquess of Sharnbrook’s estate and entertaining his spinster daughter, while Ian can investigate a family secret that has plagued him all his life. Only, distracting the Lady Felicity proves to be a task and a half the second Jack lays eyes on her.

After plagiarising The Magic Key books at the tender age of six by writing her own versions of the stories, Megan knew she wanted to grow up to write books. Many years later, after a stint in Insurance and Finance, she finally knuckled down and finished a book worthy of being published.

For Better or Worse is her debut published (albeit self-published) novel and now there is a stack of ideas and almost-finished first drafts ready to be born. Books involving New York, Paris, New Years Resolutions, Yoga Instructors and deceptions are all in the pipeline, so keep an eye out!

The light-hearted and witty women's fiction Megan is aiming for may not go on to change the world or become a classic to be studied by grumpy students in fifty years time, but sometimes we just want to curl up with a good book and head into someone else's world for a little while.

When not furiously typing away at a keyboard or scribbling illegible notes on scraps of paper, Megan spends her time watching old movies, trying not to buy more shoes or playing with feather fans for a burlesque act.

Set in England in 1817, Musgrove's page-turner first installment in the Self-Made Rouge series is filled with delicious erotic tension and sensual love scenes.

Felicity Greene is perfectly content living the quiet life on her family’s Suffolk estate and has no desire to get into a marriage agreement with a dull, fortune-hunting London gentleman. When Jack Rockall arrives at the estate to buy a racehorse with his best friend by his side, Felicity becomes suspicious of the duo’s motives. A strange attraction between the couple complicates the matters further.

Jack and Felicity make for an engaging lead couple with their groovy banter and delicious sexual chemistry. Musgrave’s sharp-dialogue and period-authentic writing combined with dazzling sex scenes makes for a highly enjoyable sensuous romance.

Lovers of historical romance will wait eagerly for the next installment in the series.

Taming Her Stallion is a historical romance featuring one totally badass heroine. Felicity isn't waiting around for any man to rescue her from a life of fancy parties & gossip. She's not waiting on any man at all. She's perfectly happy living with her father in the countryside and raising her horses. It frustrated me to no end that the men in Felicity's life (minus her super supportive father) were more than happy to ignore her expertise in favor of her bosom, but I liked that she didn't let that get in the way of her getting what she wanted.

Jack Rockall debuts as an absolutely sexist buffoon (I literally groaned out loud the first time he opened his mouth to Felicity) but he soon sheds that "I'm a man, hear me roar" persona and becomes a more well-rounded, dare I say likable, hero. I enjoyed that his concerns lay more in the realm of 'what's this gorgeous, intelligent, and rich woman doing wasting her time with a low-born man who made his fortune screwing over rich idiots' rather than 'this mouthy woman should know her place.' He didn't want to change Felicity, he only wished he could change himself.

There's some sexy scenes, including a hot forced proximity/one bed situation, and lots of banter. The underlying mystery of the true behind Jack and his partner appearance at her family's home had me curious from start to finish.

My only complaint is that I think this book needed one more pass by an editor. I noticed a small number of spelling/grammatical errors as I was reading. Easy fixes, though.

I absolutely love this story. I love the premise of the reason why Ian Stark and Jack Rockall were visiting the Marquess of Sharnbrook. I love the angst and tension between Jack and Lady Felicity. I love the feisty, independent woman that Felicity represents from that time period. I love the naughtiness of the build up and the class that Megans romantic scenes are written with. I love the discard of class divide for love and the romanticism. And most of all, I love the emotion that Megan managed to tap into within me. I rarely shed a tear but Taming her Stallion evoked exactly that from me. A beautiful story, written by a beautiful soul. Can't wait to read more from Megan's growing repertoire. ❤️

A businessman, a horsewoman, and a warning ignored

"Things are never as you imagine them." This is the warning Jack gives to Ian as they visit the Marquess of Shanbrook, and it’s a fitting theme for the story. While Ian is focused on a mission of vengeance, Jack finds himself completely derailed by the Marquess’s daughter, Jessica.

The characters are the strength of this book. Jessica is refreshing—titled, yes, but also one of the best horsemen in the country, which adds a great layer to her personality. Jack is a successful businessman, though his insistence that he is "unworthy" of a Lady feels a bit heavy-handed at times. It’s an engaging, well-written read with a decent amount of steam, showing that love usually shows up exactly when you’re planning for something else.
