Rate this book
Jonah can’t catch a break. While his fiancée, Mary Lou, is in a coma, he loses hope for their future, so he decides to numb the pain with alcohol. In a drunken stupor, he kisses his best friend’s beautiful younger sister, and he gets caught in the act by Mary Lou’s parents.

Now, Jonah is wondering if life is still worth living. He’s made a mess of things, and even if Mary Lou does wake up, she will probably never forgive him.

Will God redeem Jonah’s wayward soul? Do Jonah and Mary Lou still have a chance at happiness? How will the story end?

This is the 5th and final book of the Jonah’s Redemption series.

Now an Amazon bestselling author, Sylvia Price is an author of Amish and contemporary romance and women’s fiction. She especially loves writing uplifting stories about second chances!

Sylvia was inspired to write about the Amish as a result of the enduring legacy of Mennonite missionaries in her life. While living with them for three weeks, they got her a library card and encouraged her to start reading to cope with the loss of television and radio, giving Sylvia a new-found appreciation for books.

Although raised in the cosmopolitan city of Montréal, Sylvia spent her adolescent and young adult years in Nova Scotia, and the beautiful countryside landscapes and ocean views serve as the backdrop to her contemporary novels.

After meeting and falling in love with an American while living abroad, Sylvia now resides in the US. She spends her days writing, hoping to inspire the next generation to read more stories. When she’s not writing, Sylvia stays busy making sure her three young children are alive and well-fed.

If you read the whole series, you can see how the Amish people live. Their life heavily depends on God and their faith. You can see the love of the main characters and the love that the author has for the main characters and her writimg. This book is so wonderful . I cannot wait to read more from this beautiful writer.

Redemption and Reunion

I liked this last book of Sylvia Price's Jonah's Redemption series best of all. I'm such a romantic and, although there were definite obstacles to overcome, Mary Lou and Jonah managed to pull it off.

There is a lot of advice for us Englischers in this sweet series. Being true to yourself and following the values you've agreed upon are timeless standards that meke all of our lives better.

I appreciate the little details in Sylvia Price's books as well as the big themes. I hope you will give this series a chance, it will enrich your life. Thank you for reading my reviews.

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the fifth book in the Jonah's Redemption series. In this book, Jonah is again questioning his faith after Mary Lou's parents caught him with Catherine while Mary Lou is still in her coma. When Jonah hears Mary Lou is awake, he is still drunk and wonders is God is testing him again. Jonah finally gets the answers he needs and knows what he wants for his future. Now he just has to see if it is too late to be with Mary Lou. I liked this series. Both Mary Lou and Jonah have been through so much. I think anyone would question their faith given their situation. Mary Lou was strong, but she had to give Jonah strength and help him find his way. This was a great ending to this series.

Another wonderful story of Jonah and Mary Lou.

In this story they are baptized in the church and then are wed.

They begin their married life and are happy.

Mary Lou is starting to feel unwell, tired, and both Jonah and her are worried
the cancer has returned.

They travel to the city to see the doctor.

The diagnosis is not what they expected.

I throughly enjoyed reading this series of book.

As well I enjoyed the light heartedness of the Bonus Companion Story.

Jonah's friend Samuel comes to him in the middle of the night and asked
him to help round up his horses who have escaped through a broken fence.
Jonah helps Samuel and they reminiscence all the stunts they pulled on each
other while growing. Love the way this one story ended.

Jonah and Mary Lou have survived many trials, dealing with the deaths of their sisters, the cancer and coma suffered by Mary Lou, snd the kiss Jonah shared with Catherine.

Throughout their trials, the parents of Mary Lou have been bitter and adamantly against their daughter being with Jonah. Their bitterness long kept them from even knowing of her illness.

Jonah finds comfort in his darkest hours, and Mary Lou finds hope.

How long might she be in remission? Will they even be able to have children together after the treatments Mary Lou had for her cancer?

This bittersweet love story feels like it may yet have more to their tale

Poor Jonah just couldn't get a break. In the last book, his future in-laws saw him kissing another woman. He just knew his life was over and they would run to tell Mary Lou all about it. Imagine his surprise when Mary Lou forgave him. Jonah and Mary Lou rushed to get approval to be baptized so they could be married. Knowing their track record for Jonah being jinxed, what else could go wrong.? To find out the end of the book, you will have to buy the book to see what happened to these two forlorn lovers. I do hope Sylvia will continue their stories. Her writing made me fall in love with these two young people and feel like I knew both of them well.

Mary Lou ultimately woke up from her month-long coma. Jonah is fighting for her and their relationship in the hope to still get to marry her. He is ready to commit to his faith, his Amish community, and Mary Lou. He just needs to know if Mary Lou will forgive him, once more…
It has been great to accompany Jonah on his journey back to faith, and senses… It has been a pleasant ending of the series, and I enjoyed reading it.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

"It wasn't his fault that his fiancee, Mary Lou was in coma.
It wasn't his fault that he had prayed for her recovery, and God had ignored him. .."
He experienced so much pain, he did mistakes, but now he asks forgivenes.
"Only the tilled soil receives the seed. Otherwise, nothing grows."
Lovely and great realistic adventure, wonderful charachters!

The fifth book in Jonah's Redemption series, another well written book in this series. Jonah and Mary Lou get their wedding, but why does it feel like there is more hardship for them to come. I'll just have to wait and see. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Conclusion

From a love story to a sermon is how this book revolves. I do not like these books that are really short stories put together as a series. This last book just seemed to be one sermon after another. It did come to a happy ending but I am not sure I like the path it took and cannot recommend it

This book was beautifully written. I love the fact that Jonah received God's redeeming grace over and over again. A clean love story of redemption, forgiveness,grace,2nd chances, trust and love. There are many spiritual lessons to be learnt in this amazing book that we can apply to our daily lives.

I have really been looking forward to this book and it did not disappoint. What trials this young couple endured and even though they sometimes faltered, their love won out. Jonah found his faith and there is hope for a future. A wonderful story!
I received an advance copy of this book from the author, however, I voluntarily wrote an honest review. All opinions are strictly my own.

I received a free copy to review: Jonah's story of grace and redemption continues as we see God's faithfulness in seeking out His lost sheep - a beautiful story, indeed. Book 4 ended on a cliff-hanger where Jonah had tried to deal with his pain and kissed someone other than Mary Lou in a drunken stupor - in book we see how Mary Lou handles the news and which path their relationship follows!

This is the 5th book I've read written by Sylvia Price; she has done a great job at writing a good short story; I can’t wait to read more of her books.

The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

I loved the characters.

While Mary Lou’s lies in bed at the hospital in a coma, Jonah questions his faith. He is angry at God and turns to alcohol. This leads him to do things he shouldn’t be doing.
One night, while drunk, he is caught in the act by his future in-laws. That did not bode well with them. He climbs to the roof of the house he is building and comes to terms with God.
Nicely done series!

I just finished reading Jonah's Redemption and found it entertaining. It is informative concerning the Amish community with its rights and rituals and shows a good understanding of the human heart in the struggles of love and relationships under stress.

Blessed

The last book in this heart retching, hard earned, faith inspired romance. What a fitting conclusion, tested to the end, and trusting in the Lord. I'm glad I didn't miss this series, made me think about many things.

Love the story, but it ended to soon! I wanted the story to continue wth the couple having a child. And more on Mary Lou's illness.

Needed more on the life after marriage. Did Mary Lou have a baby? Her health? The ending was disappointing to me.

Outstanding

This series was compelling. As soon as one book ended you NEEDED to start the next. You are pulled into the story, whether you are annoyed at Jonah or looking for Mary Loud' reaction. Sylvia has written a smash hit.
