This book is a masterpiece. A stunning work of art and incredibly interesting. It includes maps, guides to all shrines, Korok seeds, good loot, food including recipes, enemies and how best to fight them and so much more. Highly recommended to anyone who loves Breath of the Wild.
That's why you should embark on your Breath of the Wild journey with the complete official guide. I wouldn't recommend using the guide for the overall plot of the game, but it is very helpful if you want a physical guide to help you find all of the shrines and complete all of the side quests. There's even a giant pull out map of all the korok seed locations. However, I do kinda wish the korok seeds were also listed in the book itself based on location. That would make it a lot easier to find them all.
The guide is pretty, includes many pictures from the game, both artistically and as a guide to help you get your bearings. As far as I could tell, there weren't any mistakes in what I read through. Once finished, it's still a great book to display on your bookshelf.
I combed through these pages while playing BotW and i loved every minute of it. It’s a solid guide to Hyrule, and it’s no fault of the book itself but some of the information is inaccurate after Nintendo’s updates and less comprehensive after the release of Champions DLC. Still, it’s very pretty and well put together supplemental material to one of my favorite games of all time.
This shit really came in handy when I was slowly, but surely, making my way through the game for the very first time. I recently finally completed it and will begin the sequel eventually, as I have that guidebook, too. And even though we’re likely getting rid of the game as it doesn’t have much replay value after getting everything already, I’m keeping the book, mainly because I wrote in it. Admittedly, it did leave out quite a few things, such as enemy encounters that were a bit more difficult than the guide claimed them to be.
This is one of the best guides I've ever read. I gave it four stars only because the type is so small -- although, were it larger, this already-big book would become a coffee table super heavyweight.
Breath of the Wild is a sprawling game that hinges on exploration. Its guide charts everything you could ever look for -- expect to make the index your central hub. The text itself is clear and comprehensive throughout. Whether you need help finding an elusive shrine, knocking out a guardian or finding the right clothes for colder passages, this book really does Have It All.
This edition's map is a helpful reference, and the hardcover art is gorgeous. For a few dollars more than the more 'standard' paperback, I highly recommend this.
I waited a long time to play Breath of the Wild and somehow avoided spoilers until I was able to play it. This book went a long way in helping me through the game from recommended paths to detail on shrines, side quests, items, armor sets, and a bunch more. It also keeps things decently separated and labeled so if you want to avoid being spoiled on something or figure a puzzle out yourself, you can easily get right to the info you need. Again I found it especially helpful and I found the section on concept art quite charming.
Now, can you find a lot of this info online? Certainly. However, if you like physical guides, I definitely recommend this one!
The print was too small. But the book and the game are amazing! I don’t know if anyone from Nintendo is going to read this but WELL DONE! I am a 53 year old man from the tiny state of Rhode Island. My Father died before I was born and I only had women in my household growing up I found Marvel and DC comics when I was 10 Star Wars when I was 13. I’ve enjoyed Star Trek and Tolkien and The George R R Martin books. Legend of Zelda Breath Of The Wild is my absolute favorite piece of Pop culture ever!☮️❤️🎮📚
This is a good official guide to my favorite Zelda game, it has a good layout, starting from the game's prolouge to it's ending, then adding side quests and secrets at the end of the book. It also includes an ingame map. I strongly reccomend this book to any Breath of the Wild fans and anyone who might need help completing this diverse game.
I would have given five stars, but it came out so soon, and now players don't have a guidebook for the DLC's, or they will have to buy a separate book. Other than that though it is a great guidebook with awesome artwork!
New to gaming, I needed some great Zelda help and this is a fantastic source! Beautiful coffee table book, addresses pretty much every question you'll have in an easy to access way. A must have for collectors!
Whether you have Breath of the Wild on your Wii U (R.I.P.) or your Switch this guide will make things a whole lot easier. It explains everything clearly and even has pictures showing you what to do.
A gorgeous, page turning strategy guide worthy of this iconic addition to the Legend of Zelda franchise. I had become accustomed to strategy guides functioning like step by step quantitative equation. This book, by comparison, has encyclopedic scope and features hundreds of pieces of artwork, (both concept art and the finalized art for the game) with detailed descriptions of how they brought these initial art concepts to life in the years of development for the game (and the changes they made to the initial designs, why they made them, and how the changes made the initial concepts into a reality while playing the game.
The guide doesn’t only provide details on how to beat the game, not only in its main story but in every side and shrine quest provided in its main story and DLC, but also enriches the main story of the game with lush, haunting descriptions of the calamity that spurred the plot to Breath of the Wild.
Through the game, you encounter ruins of former cities, homes, and garrisons that were overwhelmed with Ganon’s calamity a hundred years before the game. I hadn’t put a lot of thought into the human cost of the calamity until I picked up the guide. An entirely page is dedicated that memorizes what was lost in the calamity, showing a detailed picture of the cities that existed before the calamity… and the few that survived after. This haunting section is buffered by detailing how the cities that survived were surrounded with geographical protection. Enriching the canon of the game while shining a light on the sheer thought the creators put in to make the story of this game into a reality.
Reading this book (after buying it as a gift as a brother), had convinced me (as someone who has already beaten the game), that this is just as worthy of a purchase for those wanting to beat the game as it is for those wanting to collect the stories that showcase the rich lore of the Legend of Zelda franchise.
This is more of a reference book than a straight reading book. But is is quite through, including everything you might want to know about the game. It is a slog to sit down and read it. best if you love the game to have a copy to look info up about the gem when you need it.
Bought this for my kids who are super into this video game, and I'm shocked at how often the reference it and use it while playing. Lots of valuable maps and such.
