An ancient evil has resurfaced. For the first time in nearly seven hundred years, ghouls are roaming the earth again. And this time, they're not alone. Head Elder Abel of the Fairview Vampire Coven has made a pact with the creatures; to join their strengths and take control of the world by fear and force. Silas and his mate Maddox, along with their friends Thomas and Eleanor, have uncovered this plot and are tasked with finding the ghouls' whereabouts. They and the allies they've gathered from covens across the country must stop this evil in its tracks. Though their situation is dire, Silas honors the promise of romance he made to his sweet and sassy mate. Maddox introduces him to new experiences, smoking hot encounters, and a love deeper than he ever imagined. **This steamy M/M romance is for readers 18 and up! It features my take on vampires and other paranormal beings. They share many (but not all) attributes of vampires found in other fictional works. This world is different from those found in my other paranormal series, and the vampires’ properties differ as well. This low angst book contains insta-love between fated mates, gore, sexy scenes and a dash of humor.
I live in rural Ohio with my husband and two sons who drive me nuts, but I love them with all my heart. I enjoy reading and writing romance of all types, but gay romance is my forte and favorite! Twice the sexy men? Yes, please! My books tend to be low angst because it hurts my heart, but they do contain lots of heartfelt moments, steamy scenes and a healthy dose of humor. Thank you to everyone for checking out my page and I hope you enjoy my books. Happy reading!
Definitely not as good as book one - plot wise and relationship wise. What irked me most was the rushed ending which also wasn’t very satisfying (probably because of how easily the bad guys were dealt with). I really am a bit disappointed but to be honest I kinda expected it. I am more surprised that book one was so much fun. Oh well.
Book 2 of the Bay City Coven series picks up right where book 1 left off: Maddox going through his transition. What a transition it is! Maddox gets all kinds of fun talents with his new life. Silas is charming in an old school sort of way, as always. Maddox adds levity and humor to the most tense of situations. Watching him teach these old world vampires new slang and new activities is hilarious. Having a whole bunch of vamps play laser tag? Well, that’s a fantastic idea if I ever heard one.
We catch up with Aaron and John from book 1, both now happily mated. (That works for John, since Maddox still wants to stab him. LoL) Eleanor and Thomas are a nice compliment to Silas and Maddox and Thomas always brings an element of laughter to the couple’s interactions.
Though there are elements of danger throughout the book, we all know it’s going to end well for Silas and Maddox. That’s why we read these books, for the feel good, low angst element. I’m sad that this is the last of the Bay City books, but was not disappointed at all with how it ended.
Another awesome book from Jayda. I like all her books but her vampires are always so freaking cute. Highly recommend any of her books to give you passion, humour, deep characters and of course HEAs.
Meh. This book suffered from overglossing. I get wanting a feel good book with minimal background plot to focus on the romance, but the stakes of the background plot were too intense and glossing over the action and battle seemed lazy and made the climax feel like it wasn’t flushed out properly. The dialogue is a bit stiff and overly gushy.
I’m happy this was the last book in the series or I probably would have dropped it. They were a cute couple, and their romance was sweet.
I laughed out loud so much while reading this. It was funny but also had danger and loads of sexiness. The characters were well developed and carried over seamlessly from the first book in the series.
This was definitely enthralling and so much was packed within this story. Maddox was so awesome and funny along with many of the other characters (such as Thomas). I enjoyed the dates that Maddox had Silas had went on (so much fun) and I appreciated the intensity of their love for one another. This book had held me captive from the first page to the last. It was very entertaining (and imaginative) as well as it had touched my heart. There were lots of tense moments filled with action as well as many precious moments filled with passion. Overall, this was simply marvelous and I wish that there were much more. :)
Had to make up a word for how much I loved this. So much better than the first one. Like... So much. I liked number 1 but wasn't as thrilled with it as I usually am with jayda marx. This was amazing! Still hate that vamps have to drain a person every single night. Seems like that really would be impossible to keep a secret but whatever.
Book two concludes the storyline. Silas and Maddox further their bond and the destroy the enemy, of course. Eh, writing was okay. Felt like a lot of gratitous sex. Interesting take on vampires but I'm not enthralled enough to go looking for more by this author.
KU, book in series, paranormal, urban fantasy, vampire, action, death of side characters
Oh the live between these two is just too darn sweet like I got a bit teary towards the end so good. This was a bit different to the other vampire books I have read by this author but I liked it in a different way. It was a little darker and more intense and a little less fluffy.
I found it interesting that while everyone assumed that Abel’s coven were great to have in battle because of their age, and gifts, but the reality of them fighting was sadly disappointing. These elders weren’t great warriors, at least not any longer, they were probably so old because they were the ones who stayed behind when actual strife occurred.
Yes! I've been waiting for this book so long to learn about Maddox's gift and the future of the vampires. It was worth the wait! I loved Maddox's new abilities and how he used them during the battle and personally. The story was sweet, passionate, beautiful and hilarious. Great series.
I loved Shadow Walker, but I think I love Into the Shadows even more! Maddox kicked butt while being so sassy and hilarious. There was more romance and hotness in this book as well. It was great to catch up with other characters, and the epilogue was great. A wonderful end to the series.
I loved this book it had everything action gore and steam all rolled into a perfect combination and i love maddox he is hilarious so yet again hats off to jayda marx for yet Another great book that me laugh and had me up all night reading
This was the second part of the Bay City Coven series and continues on from the first book with Maddox transitioning into a vampire and the gang saving the world as we know it
Ok. I hope eventually these two books becomes a set deal for others. Can't stop reading book one and not have book two. So good to see Mandas become a super vamp and saves the day.
This was a solid sequel to the first Bay City Coven story. There was nothing wrong With it, it just wasn't my cup of tea. I really enjoyed the author's other books and will continue to work my sT through their catalog.
Maddox and Silas were such a perfect couple! I absolutely adored their story. The side characters were perfect too and Thomas was probably my favourite.
