I tried, but I just couldn't get into this story.
Brandon was just too alpha doormat for my taste. He acted all big and tough and then hit on her like a dweeb, wusses about with the bad guys, and whines no one wants to play by his rules.
She just needed her ass beat. Acting out to get back at Mommy and Daddy then crying over the consequences.
But it does have a HEA so all is not lost.

Oh, great, dark, and entertaining read. Chloe is caught and Brandon keeping her as his slave is just absolutely hot. She likes it even though she shouldn't but there is still danger. There's suspense and steam. One story you won't be able to put down.

It was hard for me to finish the book, I did not like any of the characters in the book. Chloe is a needy entitled girl that craves her parents attention, so she acts out and does stuff, she shouldn’t. After Brandon saves her life and makes her into his sex toy and leaves her alone except when he uses or punishes her, she falls I love with him. How? The man had no redeeming qualities, only after months of using her did he give her books to read other wise she was chained to the bed with a chain long enough to reach the bathroom, ohh he did give her food and some clothes and let her sleep on a bed. Wow what a hero - NOT. Brandon is an abusive user he might not have left permanent marks on Chloe, but he took everything else from her, and gave her no comfort, mental stimulation or anything he just left her there when he was not playing with her but he fell in love with her? I don’t believe that with out human interaction people can fall in love , sex is just that sex.He does redeem himself a bit when he decides to let her go after the cartel gets unreasonable. I am sorry but to me this is one of those Stockholm situations and I just can’t see the love HEA or not.

This story is truly captivating and hands down a must read. The storyline and plot were written smoothly. The characters were each developed beautifully and had enough depth that you couldn't help but root for them.

Brandon is no hero. He's worked hard to live a life many dream of having. Granted most of his accomplishments aren't all legal, but in life you gotta do what you gotta do. What he wasn't anticipating was for some random stranger to get them both in deeper sh*t then he ever thought possible.

Chloe, an aspiring journalist, will do anything to have the next big story. What she wasn't expecting was for this story to be more bigger then she bargained for. Now in order to stay alive she must fulfill her agreement, and give up her freedom but she won't go down without a fight.

Chloe and Brandon are thrown together in a unusual way but as time continues to pass, they'll come to realize exactly what they've been missing from their lives. However, with the Cartel watching their every move their time together may be short lived.

Masters did an outstanding job! It's dark, twisted, action packed, has intense sexual chemistry, suspenseful, and an absolute page turner. I highly recommend this read. It may have some triggers so read with caution!

Brandon is works hard and has all his life, he is no hero. He does some stuff in the grey area, so not 100% legal, but he needs nice things too! He keeps his head held high and out of trouble. But one night that all changes and he is truly in some hot water!!! With the Cartel involved and watching, can he and Chloe pull this off? Will they find happiness in each other and be able to live to tell the tale?

Chloe is trying to make it big as a journalist, she just needs a big story!!! What happens when she bites off more than she can chew? Can she get out of this mess? Can she stick to the arrangement in order to get her freedom?

This story is captivating, dark, twisted and oh so delicious!!! The story includes intense sex scenes, off the charts chemistry and is action packed!!! It may have some triggers for some people, be warned. I loved this book!!! I received an ARC of this book from the author.

I received this book as an ARC with the promise of leaving an honest review.
I did enjoy the book very much. I think it was very well written and help my attention from beginning to end.
Brandon and Chloe are complete opposites. C h love is a spoiled senators daughter and Brandon is an accountant with shady side. Sparks fly and sex is hot. Things change when Chloe decides to make a name for herself and try to expose Brandons dealings. What she didn't count on was the Cartel and Brandon.
I expected a little more to the meat of the story between them but all in all it was a good read.

Absolutely. Swoon. Worthy!!! I didn’t know exactly what to expect from this book as far as where it was going to go and how and all that but I was anxious to find out, I did know that! I could not put this book down! And the ONLY reason that it took me so long to finish it was because I absolutely HAD to sleep. If I had thought I could have functioned the next day as I needed to and read all night I absolutely would have. It was a struggle to close the book and make myself stop. I couldn’t get enough of Brandon or Chloe and still want more! I NEED more!! I don’t give 5 stars out very easily but this was an easy easy 5-star read for me.

There are trigger warnings. Creepy and dark but has some light. Chloe is a senator's daughter. Her dad wants to show that the family is a united front but they are not. They can't stand each other. Brandon is a billionaire accountant who works for the cartel also. Chloe's snooping gets her in trouble with the cartel. A deal is made and she ends up being held in Brandon's dungeon. This is an intense read. The chemistry between them is intense. Both are confused by their feelings.

This is the first book by this author that I have read. This story has a great beginning and wonderful build up between Brandon and Chloe. Then the book jumps ahead three months and the middle and end is smashed together to a rushed finish. There is some dark parts in the story (but does not go past the invisible line and into taboo). There is heat, suspense and action and of course a HEA. My opinion would be if the author added more to the middle and didn't rush the end this book could be a 10! I did enjoy the story and will be reading more from this author and I would recommend this book.

This was my first read by this author and I was absolutely impressed. The book was literally so good, hard to put down when I had to adult.

Brandon and Chloe meet in the most random of ways and the life that is in store for them is nowhere near conventional but in the end it works really well for them.

The chemistry these characters have is off the charts freaking good 💦 the intensity they have together keeps you reading because you need to know what happens next!

Chloe is a up and coming journalist just need ad big break , brandon caught her trying to get that big break and now she has to pay for it, but at the end both brandon and chloe might have to pay for it with thier lives can they find a way out. this was a on your edge kind of a seat read

Yep! Definitely dark along with crazy and saddening with a bit of creepy thrown in for good measure. It was an enjoyable read, even if a little over-the-top. Brandon and Chloe had no idea that when it came down to it, they were made for each other. What starts as Chloe acting out turns into a life-altering evening. If you're looking for a short, kinky read, this should satisfy that need. However, as a story, it felt unbalanced. There is a long beginning, a virtually non-existent middle (instead, we get a time jump) and a short but action-packed ending.

DELICIOUSLY KINKY & TWISTED

How can someone fall in love with the person holding them captive against their will? Read Masquerade and find out! This dark, kinky, and dirty read was absolutely delicious. It held my attention from the first page til the last page, without putting it down. I loved getting to know Chloe and Brandon's story. Without a doubt, one of Derek's best publications.

This is my first time reading anything by this author. This is a fairly short book, took me 3-4 hours to read cover to cover. A number of possible triggers in this story so please be aware of that. It’s got some twists and turns along with plenty of steam.

This is not a sweet love story. This is a dark and twisted story that ends with love. This book kept me glued to the pages. The author weaved a beautifully dark tale that shows the darker side of people and how sometimes in the dark you can find your light.

Derek Masters is an incredible author. I love his work. Masquerade is absolutely fantastic. The characters are so well written, coming to life within the pages. The storyline is fast paced and will keep you quickly turning the pages. Derek is truly a master of his craft. I highly recommend this one.

This one is a page turner for sure. Chloe, the daughter of a senator who has daddy issues and gets in trouble after she attends a party after finals in her first year. Brandon the accountant who goes the extra mile for his high profile client list has a dark side that needs to be fed. After Chloe makes a mistake and ends up indebted to Brandon the story explodes and ends perfectly.
