I’m a well-known player, a bad bear of the worst kind.

I’m knee deep in supermodels, begging for my attention.
But I was a goner from the first moment I saw her.
I wanted to claim her sweetness, protect it, and make it wholly mine.
But she disappeared on me, ghosting me and leaving me hanging.

The problem becomes a catastrophe when I show up at the office on Monday.
I have a new boss. And it’s her.
The killer red heels have been replaced by kitten-heeled pumps.
But the distractingly long legs are exactly the same.

She plays a leading role in my dreams in delectably indecent ways.
But she’s forbidden territory.
Getting involved with my boss would be playing with fire.
Pursuing her is a terrible idea.

But here’s the thing.
I’ve always liked terrible ideas.

Werebear Creek is full of more than just water to satisfy your appetite. It’s chockful of bad, possessive Bear Shifters who would love to just sink their teeth into you and make you theirs, completely and fully. Because once their mate comes along, nothing will stop them from claiming what’s theirs.

Hi there! I’m Layla Silver, and I’m so happy to see you here :) I’m a mom of three adorable kids and after all these years, still wildly in love with my awesome and hard-working husband. I LOVE to write about hot shifters, whether Wolves, Bears, or Dragons, who are looking for their mates and will do anything to protect them no matter what comes their way. When I’m not writing or spending time with my family (which is pretty rare, but I’m not complaining!), I like to be in the mountains chasing paranormal dreams.

**3.6/5 stars**

This is the first time that I read about bear shifters or werebears, and I have to say, I dig it! This installment was a nice start to this box set Werebear Creek, beginning with Thad and Bellamy.

I was first surprised by the setting, which took place in an office. I wasn't expecting it at all, especially looking at the cover. It was an employee/boss type of romance, with Thad as the assistant and Bellamy as the new hired Production Manager. I loved that the roles were switched for once, with the heroine being the boss, usually it's the other way around, and it does get old.

Bellamy was a career woman, who was brilliant, strong and organized. She left everything behind to start anew, running away from her ex and the bad experience she had with him being a control freak and a womanizer. It is therefore hard for her to trust players. I loved how much she made Thad work to win her over. She was definitely attracted to him but was also wary of the rumors about him, creating a conflict in her. It was a really refreshing dynamic, with the office setting.

“Was there anything hotter than a man who had the body of a god and the mind of a genius?”-Bellamy

I wasn't sure if I would like Thad, because of him being a womanizer. Usually, heroes like that start with a disadvantage in my book. But, after a few chapters, he managed to fall in my good graces. He was a player, yes, but once he met Bellamy, he very much only had eyes for her. At first, he didn't understand why he was so hooked on her, until he realized that she may well be his mate. And from there, he actively worked hard to woo her. And this is where I really appreciated his character. He was devoted, considerate and very sweet. Something that added to his charms was his bear instincts. He was possessive, jealous and somewhat irritable when it came to certain situations but not overBEARing (ha!). It was cute and comical.

“She sounded exhausted. The bear in me responded immediately, lumbering awake with the instinct to soothe and protect.”-Thad

Here is why I didn't rate it 5 stars: I felt like the story wasn't centered enough on the hero being a werebear. Yes, the bear in him made him act a certain way and want certain things, but him being a shifter didn't really matter until the last few chapters. I wish the shifter flavors would've be more tangled in the plot. I have a feeling that this series is a side to another series called Werebear Ranch, since the ranch was mentioned at the start of this book...so I'm guessing the real introduction to the bear shifter community is done in that series BUT, I didn't feel lost reading Werebear Creek first. Other than that, what really lowered my rating a little was the rushed ending, a few more chapters would've been welcomed! But I'll forgive it, since I have a feeling I'll be seeing some more of Thad and Bellamy in the next books.

“All the men from OnDemand’s party had flirted with her shamelessly. Their attentions triggered my instinctive need to fight for my mate, and I’d wanted to snatch my butter knife from the table and stab them all every time their eyes slid over her, their lust soaking through the air so thickly I thought I might choke on it.”-Thad

The next book Boss Bear will be about Thad's eldest brother Sawyer. Not much is known about him but in this book, he was fairly calm and reserved, with a little broody side. So I'm looking forward to his story.

Gross. Nothing worse than a playboy as a future mate. It kills the possible romance cause guess what, he’s seen every woman’s private in a hundred miles.

ONE PULSE RACING THRILL RIDE!!!
Sizzling! Layla throws out this delectable treat with all the frills, spills and feels, exposing the skill of the hunt and thrill of the chase, raising the stakes and keeping it real, wrapping this baby up sleek, shiny and tight. Banded, twined and tightly coiled, launching the taxing trials and challenging tribulations, noting the sensual twists and wicked turns, putting our characters through their paces, testing them in ways they could have never envisioned. Shattering the lines and crushing the boundaries, limitations are amplified and negotiated, kicking this baby into the eye of the storm, slamming it into a tailspin with astonishing impacts. Balancing the load and bearing the burden, highlighting the staggering ups and agonizing downs, setting the pace for this high octane and combustible liaison, drawing our characters closer than they could have ever anticipated. Satisfaction rocks this jewel, bringing it home with such intensity and precision, displaying triumph and heart soaring bombshell, blasting this baby to life beautifully. The raw magnetism, attraction and chemistry collides with such intensity, displaying the explosive emotions, drawing our characters closer until you feel the electrifying hum running rampant through your veins. The characters are complex and genuine with traits and qualities that add depth and diversity, transforming into charismatic personalities. The scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and descriptions that feel as though you were transported to ground zero with them. Remarkable job Layla, thanks for sharing this little guy with us.

This series is a spin off to the original Werebear Ranch series and tells the story of three brothers who stayed in Werebear Creek when the others moved to the ranch They are hoping to bring change there as well This first book is Thatcher (Thad) and even though he is the youngest he is by far the one most likely to wear the label of playboy or should I say Playbear. Like all Layla books it flows well has a few twists and turns that will keep you guessing and it just a general fun story

Thad always had women hanging off him so when he sees Bellamy (Belle) at a bar he is all over it but the strange thing is that this time he wants to protect the shy young woman rather than just use her like is normal for me When one of her friends tells Belle that Thad is a player she drops him and runs That should be the end until the next day when Thad discovers she is his new boss. Now she has the impression he is a player who doesn't take work seriously and he has to prove top her that he is not only serious about his job but also about her and then there is the secret he is carrying will she be able to accept his bear

Major playboy meets his match!

I didn't read the Werebear Ranch series, but after reading the first Werebear Creek book I want to see what I missed. This book is the beginning for Thatcher (Thad) Donovan and Bellamy (Bella) Hayes. Thad is a full blown player and Bella just left an abusive relationship. Her ex was controlling, possessive and uncaring. So when Thad pays attention to her she runs the other way. It was so sweet that Thad was willing to do anything and everything to prove his feelings to Bella...even go against the Elders. I loved Thad's confidence and easy going attitude, as well as his intelligence. His brothers were his solidly on his side and there for him every step of the way. This was such an exceptional book I can't wait to read Sawyer's story.

Bad Bear: Werebear Creek Book 1
By Layla Silver
Kindle unlimited purchase
Thad is a player now he meets the woman of his dreams and she has ghost him, told him she was going to the bathroom and didn't come back.
Bellamy moved left everything behind including her furniture. She can't believe she almost made the worst decision and left with the man at the bar. Now with her head back on her straight, she walks to her new job. When she gets there who does she see? The "player" from the bar.
I loved this book. I really enjoyed the fact that the assistant was Thad not Bellamy. It added more to the story. I felt that the shifting part of the book was on the back burner. But it worked out.
This is book 1 in a book 9 series. With 9 coming out in 3 days. Looks like I have a lot of reading to do.

Brilliant loved it

As soon as Thad sees her he knows he has to go speak to her but after a mind blowing kiss she disappears. Bellamy only just moved to this town after relocating when she left her ex as he was controlling and cheating on her what she expect was the hot man she had just kissed but when her friend told her he was a player she left. When Thad goes to work wondering who his new boss he gets a surprise it’s Bellamy he know needs to show her how well they can work together and how committed he is to his job then maybe she will start to trust him and give them a chance to be together and telling Bellamy he is a bear shifter.
Brilliant first book of the series can’t wait for the next book out

🤞The Elders want to fight will there be a fight?
🔹️ This lady wasn’t going to be dictated to and lose her job again!
🔹️ This BearShifter found his Mate who happens to be his boss lady…
Definitely a fight of emotion at first but will they see eye to eye?
☄️ This review is my own opinion, this author is one that I love to read her books.

Bad Bear

Belle has left everything about her life in NYC to start over. Who would have guessed that on her first night out in her new town that she would meet her mate who turns out to also be het new assistant. Between her past with men, her dedication to her career, and the complication of being his boss he Thad his work cut out for him to convince Belle to they are meant to be together. Add in shifter drama in the form of a crotchety "humans are evil" council of Elders and you get a terrific, fast paced story you can't put down.

“Bad Bear” is a fun and enjoyable read and a great spin-off from the “Werebear Ranch” series. This is Thad and Bellamy’s story and boy is it hot! Belle and Thad take office romance to the next level in this funny and exciting tale. Perfect evening or weekend read. I highly recommend this tale and look forward to the next installment in this series.

idk

Idk. I mean I liked it but I don’t think this was my cup of tea. I can’t say what about it that didn’t draw me in, but I think that’s it. I believe that I just wasn’t drawn to this book, I didn’t connect to the characters or the town so I couldn’t fall for it. So it’s not a bad book it’s just not a book that I feel the wow feels and can’t put this book down feelings.

Things are still a mess under the elders back at Werebear Creek. The Donovon brothers, and most of the clan are fed up...but can they fight the elders and win? Plenty of intrigue and romance included.

Charming

Lovely story of fighting for love. Characters are well developed and charmingly intimate. The highs and lows of development of a deep commitment are well explored with a great fight thrown in.

Hot Bear

Belle and Thad were great and I loved that they met at the very beginning and she ran. It made Thad chase her down and work to get her. Then his brothers helped. Good story.

Fantastic read.

It's so cute how she tries to not have feelings for her bad bear. But he does keep at it after all and because she is his mate.

Good read!

There is enough of romance, angst, and doubt to make this story work well. Found this to be a delightful read!
