A mysterious dream wakes a man back into his humdrum reality. It's the year 2220 and technology has advanced by leaps and bounds, but for Preston and his generation, the new normal is old news. Memory Man is the story of one man's journey as he wakes up to the brave new world around him, and why he was better off asleep to begin with. Join Preston and his closest friends, Rosie, Wallace, Stacey, and Jeeves in what may possibly be a most vivid glimpse into our own reality just around the corner. This is the first published fictional short story by author, Mark Hill.
Born in 1975 and educated at Cranmore Preparatory School in West Horsley and the Royal Grammar School, Guildford, he studied History of Art & Architecture at the University of Reading. Mark is a freelance antiques, collectables and 20th Century design expert, as well as an experienced valuer, business consultant, researcher, writer and lecturer. Mark Hill began his career in 1996 as a specialist in the collectors departments at Bonhams and, later, at Sotheby’s in London. He then joined icollector.com where he became a director, forming and running its ground-breaking alliance with eBay Live Auctions that revolutionised the auction industry by pioneering live online bidding in 2001. He is now an author, publisher, TV presenter, and a leading dealer in postwar Czech and 20th century art glass.
