A snarky fae, a sexy king, and forbidden desire deep as the sea. The Complete Trilogy.
Once, I was a fae princess with sea-magic at my fingertips. Now? I’m a hunted supernatural in a squalid shop, stripped of my power. My only comforts are stale cookies, Elvis records, and my hula-hoop. Until a lethally sexy fae king arrives and rips even those away.
After the brutal king throws me in prison, I strike a bargain with him: my freedom in exchange for helping him find a magic blade. What Lyr doesn’t know is that the blade might restore my stolen magic.
But as we journey, the gorgeous jerk is starting to make me feel things I’ve never felt. When Lyr touches me, desire ignites. I see raging passion in his eyes, too. If I give in, I risk losing my chance at reclaiming my power. Even worse... I could be forfeiting my life.

Loved the Celtic mythology mixed into this series about a Fae Princess in exile who must regain her power to save the planet from warming oceans and somehow form a stable romantic bond with her mate Satan.
To be clear though: this isn't a global warming story in a magical setting, and the romance isn't particularly the focus. The heroine also starts out with another love interest, and goals, but he's not that great. He sort of does about 3 nice things for her? Anyway, I thought about Maas's 'Court of etc etc' but the relationships aren't explored with the same degree of romantic angst and plot tension.
Fae Princess and the devil are also dark and violent characters. Fae Princess tries to only violently kill bad men who deserve it, but the devil doesn't care and is pretty clearly not meant to be seen as the well intentioned fallen hero who has done some bad things and some good things but is alway misjudged.
There's plenty of action and high stakes and adventure and magic and deities. I liked Fae Princess, and her thought processes. I liked that she had blue hair and it's never made a huge deal of, it's just there. She spent long stretches of time not wearing enough layers against the cold, and she was in the water or in wet clothes a lot of the time. It's lucky she was magical and with a good immune system probably. I think the Fae in this world are immortal? Also, she would seem to go days without changing her underpants, and I feel that with all her suffering over getting killed or saving others it's just mean she had to go through it a bit dirty. She didn't have a toothbrush either, or proper mealtimes or enough sleep, and I'm not one to make a big deal out of basic needs especially when someone is magic, but it all seems very uncomfortable.
The writing could have used a bit of a tidy at times, e.g. the heroine spends the first 2 books referring to herself as a Morgen and the 3rd book as a Morgan. It's not a big deal, but it should be consistent.
I thought sometimes it could have taken a bit more of a pause to do some relationship building (or to buy underpants, or explain she has magic cleaning cantrips), but overall this was a great find and I'll be making my way through as many of C.N. Crawford's books as I can.
It advertised as being fae but it just didn't feel very fae at all. Finished the first book and lost interest in the series. Felt more like a shallow action movie than a romance.
Also... the author really needs to hire a developmental editor. Vehicular glass doesn't shatter. It breaks into tiny mostly safe squares or bends. It's a safety feature that's been used since 1934. So NO the heroine does NOT have shards of glass in her butt from stealing a car and sitting on the glass.
Not even for a sexy scene where the LI has to dig the glass out of her butt would there be any sort of shards of glass in it. Fact checking is an important part of an editors job. I should know. I am one.
I really enjoyed this series. I also really liked reading all the books back to back. The are no gaps, just lots of enjoyment. Ok this was awesome with a whole lot of emotions, betrayal, love, confusion, hatred and lots of unknown.
Aenor and Salem are perfectly imperfect and I'm all for it. The villain is plain evil, full of revenge, because she was not loved after tricking Salem to marry him after drugging him. The ending was a little of a heartbreak with lots of love in the end
This series started my fangirl spiral into everything C.N. Crawford. I laughed and had my heart broken for these characters and in the end you still want more . So much that I ordered the books for my collection. The writing is such that you are taken to these places these worlds within our own as though you're actually there . Smelling the air feeling the heat. You will not be disappointed in this series
I read majority of CN Crawford's published series so I know their style and storytelling usually work really well for me. But this one just... didn't. The plot wasn't bad but the characters were just awkward and had no chemistry with each other. Not any that I could believe in anyway. The definite best part was the ending. I did like the resolution. The last book altogether was the best one of the series.
I was sincerely surprised by how great this series is and how well researched in Celtic and Welsh mythology. I was able to read all 3 books as part of a bundle on Kindle Unlimited and I highly recommend it, especially if you like star crossed lovers, sunken cities, and fae princesses with a great taste in music as well as quite a taste for bloodshed
Interesting book. I had some trouble reading it with how much negativity was in the book. It is a very interesting book once you get past the most of it. The book has a very good story line that was very interesting. I loved how Aenor was able to adapt in living life without her powers for so many years and helped save women from bad situations during that time. Shows how strong her innate person is. Salem is in a class of his own.
I don’t think I have read a book that I could actually giggle and then sob with sadness in some time. This series pulls out moments of giddy happiness, silly laughter and gut reneging sadness. The author has a knack with human emotions. Great book!
C N Crawford never disappoints. This series is everything you can wish for. It might remind you of ACOTR by Sarah J Mass ,but Aenor's character has a playfulness to her, which makes her unique. Amazing. Another great series.
While the storyline moves slowly and consistently, everything makes sense, the story flows extremely well. The characters are realistic and face every day questions about life, love and the future.
This trilogy had me hooked from the start, I loved everything about this series. I have barely slept since starting reading these, whilst I won't spoil it for others. I must admit it was heartbreaking choosing between Salem and lyr, I loved both of them and wanted aeonar to end off with both of them. This is definitely one to read.
Love this series!!! If you want a series full of adventure, then get this Now!! Lost kingdoms, finding your true purpose, love and lasting bonds. Everything you need in a great story is in this series!!!
