Wow. Each of these short stories had some kind of shock factor. By the time I finished the atories by Nicole Bird Faulkner and Nakecia Bowers, I had to take a break, because those two short stories started off the book with a bang. I could barley sleep because the characters stayed in my mind all night. I kinda expected what happened in Eric's story to happen, I just didn't know who it would happen to until the end. The stories by Candice Johnson and Sherron Elise were jaw dropping and exciting reads. The story by Corey BuShea, I was not expecting that twist. Tamika Lucas's story pleased me from the beginning to the end. Michelle Rayford's story made me happy, especially when a change with a certain person. KP Holley's story was hot and interesting, and I would expect nothing less from her. Tracie's story showed how sometimes not everything need to be told. Yolanda Attago's story will shock you from the beginning until the end. TL Jackson's story was a shock and a little twisted. Patricia Bridewell's story had several shock factors as well as some "what in the world" moments. Latasha Holloway's story was another twisted story with a lot of shock factor thrown in. and My Husband, My Ex, Ain't no way she could leave that story like that. That story needs to be a full length story. I enjoyed each and every story.
Enjoyed this compilation of short stories. There was a mixture of suspense, romance and a little erotica. Some should be full length novels because I felt like I wanted to know more after the story ended. And there were quite a few great plot twists. I hope to see more from these authors in the future.
This collection of short stories will have you wanting more. The various stories all have one compelling theme. Lies and Secrets will make you laugh out loud, nod your head in agreement and cringe from the crazy. A wonderful read.
This book did hold my attention and was an easy read. However, some of the stories were not written as well as others. So while it was an easy read, it was uneven.
I gave four stars because some of the short stories I wanted to continue! Right when the climax hit, the roller coaster ride was over! Each short story is filled with lies, deception, confessions and secrets. All things hidden in the dark eventually come to the light!
