“The only thing that saves us from bureaucracy is its inefficiency...”
Ethan Jones has done it again! He snagged me in from page 1, with adrenaline pump, action filled scenes and emotive moments, feeling me with excitement page after page.
The author has crafted a well-paced thriller that sets his series in motion, providing entertaining plot twists, nifty evasion techniques and a healthy dose of cynicism about government agencies. The tension full scenarios are exciting, nerve wrecking and intense. That these kind of manipulative, power hungry and deceitful corporations, governments, and people exist is dreadful and horrible.
It is well written with a very concise attention to details, the reality of our global situation ever present. He weaves an artful tale filled with deception, heroism, and adventure.
What I find so amazing about this author is that he weaves his characters throughout all of his stories. You never lose track of them, who they are and the issues they have. It is like being at one big family reunion each time you read one of his books. They are a complex bunch, with their own conflicts, turmoils, goals, dreams and flaws. Carrie is filled with inner conflicts, the hard decision to choose between a career she loves and her personal life..I’m going to be selfish and say I hope she continues to be a secret operative, the resilient, hard headed, and conflict solver as always.
Another great premise of the series, a series I highly recommend, together with the Javin Pierce and Justin Hall series!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another great Carrie O'Connor story!!

In this book, CIS operatives Carrie and Nate are in Australia to find out who killed a dual citizen. Their efforts expose Chinese agents interfering with Australian politics and uncover compromised leaders including an Australian Security Director and a Canadian minister. This is a fast-paced story which kept me engrossed, wondering who to trust. Do Carrie and Nathan survive to bring the bad guys to justice? Are the politicians able to keep a lid on things and stay entrenched? I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the entire series.

I highly recommend all of Mr. Jones’ books – he continues to prove that a writer can produce great action-packed books using clean language, no sex scenes, and without overly graphic descriptions of blood and guts.

This story begins Australia where the body of a dual citizen is killed. Because he had citizenship in Canada, Carrie is sent to work with that group. Before shwe leaves for Australia, she winds up getting involved in a skirmish where she is attacked by Chinese agents. These individuals were attempting to kill her to prevent her from going to Australia.

Her episodes in Australia also put her into danger. Her presence has caused the Chinese MSS to try and get her out of there and not work with the Australian team in gathering information related to the individual who was killed. Before she was able to leave, additional attempts were made on her life.

Once she left Australia, she was sent to Bogota, Colombia to gather evidence on a Canadian Minister. Again, she was attacked and poisoned by the Chinese.

To find out what the Chinese MSS was afraid of and why they wanted to kill Carrie, then you must read this book. The last bit of the story about Colombia will keep you glued to all of the events that happened.

Foreign Interference
A Carrier Chronicles Novel #5
By Ethan Jones

Carrie O'Connor has been sent to Australia to investigate a disturbing case of foreign interference. But she is all too soon pulled into a mission that takes her far from Australia. Could this foreign manipulation truly have infiltrated several Western governments, including her own? Carrie is about to find out. Unless the very people she is trying to track down take her out first.

With her window of opportunity closing, Carrie has to rely on untested local assets. But just how much trust she can place in them is a question she just can't answer. And with someone targeting her and her team, this may be a mission that Carrie won't be walking away from.

In typical, Ethan Jones's style, we are taken to a variety of locals throughout the globe as our heroes try to save the world and democracy for another tomorrow.

The pacing gives the reader a steady dose of action. The reading is clean with no language to offend, no gratuitous violence, and no skimping on peril. If you want page-turning spy suspense, look north to the Canadian border - the CIS has what you are looking for.

I was provided a complimentary uncorrected proof with no expectations. All thoughts expressed are my own.

Foreign Interference is a fast paced, action packed spy thriller that had me roped in from the first page and full of suspense, drama and an excellent storyline, strong characters and unexpected twists taking us from Australia, where Carrie works with Megan and Lucas, gets betrayed and onto China, Malaysia and Bolivia.

Carrie is caught up in unexpected circumstances with some ties to current events and I was kept on the edge of my seat through to the last page.

I love Carrie and her partner Nathan and feel they make a great team.

Mr Jones continues to keep me on the edge of my seat with another great book and never ceases to amaze me.

I enjoyed this book immensely and looking forward to the next Carrie O'Conner book.

Holy cow ... Ethan Jones has done it again! Foregin Interference is book # 5 in the Carrie Chronicles; just when you think a series can't get better, it does!

Carrie & partner, Nathan, are globetrotters for sure in this outstanding thriller. The story starts out in Australia. Carrie works with an Australian agent, Megan & her partner, Lucas, to uncover what's really behind the death of a dual citizen (that's how the CIS gets brought in to the case). They dig deep & uncover strange goings on involving the Chinese MSS & a Canadian minister.

Is China trying to influence Australian internal politics?

After getting kicked out of Australia by a Senior Director who doesn't like Carrie's efforts and threatens the job of Megan, the action for Carrie & Nathan shifts to Columbia. A Canadian Minister is involved with some operatives from China.

Hang on tight so you don't get whiplash from all the twists & turns in this story. Back in Australia, the Senior Director who got Carrie kicked out of the country meets his due compliments of Megan.

Fast paced action ... intrigue ... politics ... espionage ... this story has it all!

Slick, efficient, professional - and that’s just the writing! Ethan Jones is a master of the spy action thriller. There’s no doubt in my mind that he’s one of the best around and this book is a great example of his ‘clean’ stories. No profanity, no gratuitous gore just action all the way and always a compelling story. Carrie O’Connor quickly became a firm favourite with me for her tough take-no-prisoners attitude to what’s right and what’s not. This time she’s up against powerful Chinese agents who are set on manipulating foreign governments for their own benefit. Set in Australia, then Colombia, the action is globe spanning and there are some great set piece action scenes along the way. Overall, this is everything I’ve come to expect from an Ethan Jones novel: great characters, stunning locations, compelling story and action by the truck load! Great reading for all spy or action thriller fans.

Ethan Jones does it again. Another great spy thriller. This time Carrie is down under. Are the Chinese interfering in the Australian politics? Carrie manages to get herself kicked out of Australia and ends up in Columbia where the plot thickens. Could a Canadian politician also be involved with the Chinese. Carrie lands in hot water again. Will she be able to get herself out of this mess with her life and career intact? A fast paced page turner. Very hard to put down, I recommend this book and the entire series!

This is a cracker of a story The author has excelled himself with this one. breathtakingly exciting and riveting from the get go. I am sure that Carrie and her colleagues used up more than one of their nine lives in this operation against the Chinese. They needed nerves of steel and split second reactions to come out unscathed. More than a couple of times i was not sure Carrie would survive, I think she is amazing.

Foreign Interference, the fifth novel in The Carrie Chronicles series, is a totally exhilarating and exhausting read. Jumping from China to Malaysia, Australia, Bolivia and beyond, Carrie really accumulates a lot of frequent flyer miles in this book! The story line (China influence in foreign countries) is timely, and the action, intensity, intrigue and danger are absolutely non stop. Carrie and her CIS colleagues never cease to amaze. All in all, chalk up another big win for Ethan Jones.

Foreign Interference - a review by Rosemary Kenny

An outstanding international espionage thriller by the exceptional Ethan Jones, Foreign Interference is Book 5, in his brilliant Carrie Chronicles series.

With exciting car chases and gun battles, Carrie is like a female James Bond, or Angelina Jolie in Salt, while her mission seems like something out of Fast and Furious mixed with Mission Impossible.

Treason and duplicity are deadly bedfellows, so the manipulation behind the scenes by the Chinese MSS, of a prominent minister among others, leaves Carrie, fiancé and CIS partner Nathan, Australian AISI agent Megan and her partner Lucas not knowing what, or whom they can trust - even at the top of their own Agency!

A magnificent mission with so many twists and turns it'll make you gasp, Foreign Interference delivers what the title promises, in spades. Turn off the phone and laptop, lock the doors and tell everyone you're away for the next day or two, as you won't want to miss out on Ethan Jones's riveting, all-action, international espionage thriller.

Foreign Interference is unputdownable, so get ready to stay up late, when you grab your copy of this great new book!

Once again the world of espionage is rocked by a country's interference in the politics of their home country. First it is Australia that is impacted and then (closer to my home) it is Canada. The culprit - not surprising to anyone who pays attentions to what is happening in the world - is China.

Can Carrie and her team, with the assistance of their Australian counterparts, track down the culprits and foil their plans? It doesn't help them when they discover the Chinese are getting assistance from within their respective agencies or governments.

A great story, with connections to current events, that will keep you on the edge of your seat right up until the last page.

As alway, the author delivers as great story, with believable characters! Enjoy the read, which I (obviously) highly recommend!!!

Carrie is once again on a mission. This time to Australia to assist them when a dual citizen with Canada and China may have actually been a Chinese spy that was killed for failure. After causing lots of havoc that included a few killings, not all by her, Carrie is told to leave the country NOW. Next stop back to Europe for the same mission as it looks like a Canadian minister is holding meetings and is also on the take with the Chinese. Why are these people assisting the Chinese...blackmail. And money, of course. After Carrie is confronted by a more than one Chinese operative and poisoned and left for dead can she and her partner Nathan finally get the better of the group and finish the mission...

Ethan Jones has got another great book for you. Foreign Interference is using Agent Carrie and Nethan. There is plenty of exciting action.
A couple of new characters are involved that may be in other books and both of them are great. A chopper pilot is one of the characters and he is a great pilot doing things not thought possible.
Megan is in this book and she plays a deciding role toward the end of the book.
There is just not much more that can be said about Ethan Jones writing other than that it is great and keeps you turning the pages to the end. You will find this book very hard to stop reading it. Anything with Carrie in it you know it will be good.

Just when I think Carrie can’t get into a worse predicament … this op happens!!

Who would have thought Carrie could get into so much trouble in Australia! Lots of action down under followed by a hunt for proof of dirty dealings on the part of a Canadian cabinet minister. The less-than-subtle little references to current events had me laughing. A real calamity ensues after Carrie and Nathan hatch a plan that goes awry in spectacular fashion in Bogota. One of the CIS most exciting ops yet.

Another fast paced adventure with Carrie

I got hooked right away from the beginning of this story. Carrie is one kick butt operative who gets things done even when she is in a predicament. There are two new characters introduced in this story who played an important part of the adventure.

Carrie & Nathan just can’t do things quietly. They tear it up in Europe and South America. Fun with the Aussies, attempting to expose crooked politicians and keep their own country & ethics aligned.

Carrie O'Connor Triumphs again

I believe this is the 5th of 6 books about her. This was the most daring book yet in terms of excitement. She escapes from submerged vehicles, repels down skyscrapers and always avoids the bad guy's bullets. One more book to go.
