What a fantastic second chance romance, with suspense and a hot rockstar! L. Ann has knocked this one out of the stadium!

This is a brand new series from another one of my unicorn authors. L. Ann can write shifters, vampires, nightmare demons and now... rockstars! She is a unicorn GOAT!
So first off, let's talk Gabe fucking Mercer. Rockstar, sexy, dirty talking, broken angel with the gray eyes. Gabe is the lead singer for the mega band, Forgotten Legacy. Eight years ago, he left home and everything behind and went out to make his mark on the world and what a mark he has made. He is successful, rich and handsome! But, now he's back home, and he's decided it's time to fix his biggest mistake and win back the girl he left eight years ago.
The unexpected, is Harper Jackson...aka Frosty. The girl he left eight years ago broken hearted. However, Harper is now a strong, lavender haired independent women, in rock band t-shirts that has had struggles but survived. The last thing in the world Harper wants, is to see Gabe Mercer again.
Imagine her surprise when her best friend gets free tickets to one of the hottests clubs in the city, Damnation. Damnation just happens to be owned by Gabe. Coincidence? I think not...Harper doesn't want to disappoint her friend, so she goes...and hopes that Gabe isn't there. But, as you can probably guess...Gabe is there, waiting. Their first meeting in eight years doesn't quite go as planned. Gabe makes mistakes but he also has his moments.
The answer at that moment is definitely not yes. Harper is not ready to let Gabe into her life after the hurt he caused her the last time they were together. She hasn't forgiven for the broken heart. Gabe is going to have to step up his game if he wants to win back Harper.
This book has a lot happening and it's not your typical rockstar romance. I viewed this more as a second chance romance/romantic suspense with a rockstar in it. Harper and Gabe have a lot of history, and we get to see that history. We get to experience two lives broken and put back together. We get to experience two young souls coming together...
We get to experience first love, broken love, lost love and finally..forever love. However, things aren't going to be rainbows and lollipops for these two, nothing in their lives was ever easy. Now, there are forces out there trying to break them apart. Are they strong enough to let go of the past, are they strong enough to survive the future? Will they get an HEA? This book made me laugh, cry, laugh, yell, and get angry. I may or may not (ok I did) have actually PM'd the author a couple of times asking why???
But L. Ann doesn't just stop there, this is also a steamy romance. We get some dirty talking and hot a hell sexy times...holy cow! All I can say is I will never look at strawberries the same again...ever!
Be prepared to either grab your significant other, BoB, or take a cold shower, because ladies it's HOTTT!
I'm going to be completely honest here. I have already read this book THREE times and it just keeps getting better! For me to reread any book is a testament to my love for the book! I have fallen for all these characters! However, if you are reading this review I'm just going put this out there... I got dibs on Dex. He's mine and his book isn't even written. #dibsondex
Will I keep reading, duh! Of course, I can't wait to get my hands on the next book! So if you like steam, suspense, romance, great characters, strawberries, and a fantastic story.... THIS IS YOUR BOOK! READ IT! This gets all the recommendations from me!

Nothing says true love than to finally have the woman you love where you want her again but after she leaves you go up to have sex with the two women you have in your room already! Shame because this wasn’t a bad book but his words of love for heroine didn’t match his actions when it came to his sex life.

Okay so I rarely ever read contemporary romance, preferring to read Paranormal/UF romance. Which L. Ann writes AMAZINGLY well! But there are a few authors that I like so much, I’ll pretty much read anything they write. When L. Ann announced she was writing Tattooed Memories, I knew I’d have to read it. If you like a**hole rockstars with a tortured past, this book is for you. L. Ann has a way of weaving a story so that a character you think you’ll never like becomes one that you love. Gabe is that character. She weaves the past and present in a way that drew me deeply into his and Harper’s story and before I knew it, I liked the a**hole and was yelling at Harper to give him a chance. This is a very hot, steamy romance, a love story of redemption and second chances, but also a mystery with suspense. Gabe’s band, Forgotten Legacy, is the epitome of bad boy rock band, with the usual entourage of manager, body guards, hangers-on, paparazzi and enemies. One of those enemies is targeting Harper. Every time I thought I knew who the bad guy was, I was wrong. L. Ann kept me guessing until the end and it wasn’t at all who I thought it would be. If you’ve read her paranormal Midnight series, you’ll see a couple familiar and well loved characters who make a non-paranormal cameo, cleverly written to only give away what they are to those who’ve read their series. And the best part? Three more band mates to hate to love!

L. Ann has out done herself with this story! Don’t think I can articulate how amazing awesome I think this book is! It has everything a great read needs to keep the reader hooked from the first page. The great love that got away, the bad guy trying to destroy what the guy that has everything!! Can’t wait to read what the men of the band get into next!!

Wow! Is it hot in here or is it just Gabe Mercer? Holy Hannah is he one, sexy, tortured, broken, foul-mouthed bad boy!! Move over every other book boyfriend, Gabe Mercer is in the house!
So, what we have here, are two characters, Gabe and Harper, who have been head over heels for each other since they were kids, but really never acted on it until one fateful night. But then, as most of our heroes do, Gabe goes and screws it up, breaking Harper's heart and ruining whatever friendship they had. Nice going, Gabe. Now, he's rich and famous, being the lead singer of Forgotten Legacy, and he's been biding his time waiting for her to come to him so he can explain everything and finally make her his once and for all.
Harper is a strong female character and doesn't take any of Gabe's "crap" for long. Although, her feelings win out and she finds it far to easy to slip back in to the familiar. She knows the image he feels he has to portray for the public, but she still sees the scared and scarred young boy she loved, and still loves. I loved how she kept Gabe in check and didn't let him get away with anything. But, just when things seem to be going great, his past comes at her full force and she might not live to see another day.
Gabe. Oh, what can I say about Gabe. He wants - no needs - Harper back, but when he first sees her after all those years, he's such a jerk about it. But, I can say, he grovels like no other, and once his walls are down, he puts every other book boyfriend to shame!! I loved the dichotomy of this character - bad boy party animal who never has cold sheets, and the altruistic, romantic, sweetheart who made me swoon! Now that Harper is back in his life he thinks everything is great! But soon, a mistake from his past is targeting her and he may not be able to save her. He just found her again, and if he loses her it will destroy him
I absolutely loved this story! What a great start to what I am sure will be a hot, sexy, rock star series!! Bring on Book 2!!

Fast forward eight years Harper is still raw and heartbroken over Gabes actions on that fateful night. Gabe on the other hand now the famous lead singer of Forgotten Legacy is on a mission to win her back after she lands in his club.
Now the journey we’re taken on in this book is fast paced and full of smexy hotness. L.Ann
has cultivated Gabes bad boy persona to perfection. She gives him a devil may care attitude to the outside world and a man with a few secrets up his sleeve.
The dark underworld of the music industry is exposed that is never brought to light as we are so blinded by the glamour.
Lots of delicious passion that burns you up as well as light hearted laughter between the two main characters. I loved the interaction between these pair. The other characters were really great and I’m sure going to look forward to reading about them in future books.

Gabe is bored of his life. Being the front man of forgotten legacy comes with its perks, but the parties and girls aren’t enough anymore. He wants Harper and he’s will to step up his game.
With flashback chapters and a gritty twisted family story this makes a gripping read. I’m a fan of L Ann and this is a great start to a new series.

Tattooed Memories is the amazing kick-off to a new series by L. Ann. I'm typically not a huge fan of rock-star romances but wowza this story had it all. Initially, I wasn't quite sure what to make of Gabe but he quickly grew on me and I enjoyed the back and forth banter between him and Harper. The heat between these 2 was off the charts and there were unexpected twists and turns that threw me for a loop.

I received a free audiobook in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own
The plot is a definite 5 star.
The narrator is a definite 5 star, on the male POVs.
Unfortunately for me, the same narrator is also used for the FMC's POVs, which is something that really irks me. I absolutely do not like when a male or female narrator have to distort their voice, to read as the opposite sex. I much prefer dual narrators.
The characters are amazing and I don't understand all the people who have a problem with the MC. Sure, he might have some attitude problems and be a typical badboy persona. But... really, who wants to read an entire book about someone with perfect manners, who never do anything wrong? Where's the fun or reality in that? The FMC can hold her own and she's luckily not a virgin pushover, who just gobbles up his BS without thinking for herself.

I’m on chapter 22 and I can no longer finish reading this book. The hero is emotionally manipulative and the heroine is fake strong.
She let him feel her up in public after he basically called her a whore after giving him her v-card 8 years prior - also the last time she saw him.
That same night he felt her up, he had two girls up in his VIP area and he offered the heroine to go up there to f*ck. When she refused he tried to pay her!!! Basically treated her like a whore again.
The next day or two, he did an interview declaring his love for her and he sicced paparazzi on her and released her address to them to force her to come to him.
I cant with this book anymore. I quit!

*UPDATE* I finished listening to the audio yesterday. O. M. G. Talk about panty melting and drool inducing. You need the audio, like NEED it.
This was my very first Rock Star Romance, so I can't compare within it's own little niche. That said, I love this book so much. OMG. Gabe and Harper are everything. I think one of the really special things about this story is how real and relatable the characters feel despite the circumstances. I mean, really, how many of us are going to fall for super famous musicians? And yet, the story feels real.
I super love Harper. She's a bad ass, but not in your typical way. She's not clad in leather, kicking ass and taking names... unless it's Gabe's. She's incredibly practical and... average. Maybe that sounds bad, it's NOT lol She's the kind of person that I would be friends with, you know? She works hard, has a roommate, and goes out with her friends. She does NOT have time to put up with Rock Star B.S. and she repeatedly fights Gabe when he tries to hijack her life and take care of her. She's just fiercely independent.
Gabe... that saucy fox. There is not enough soap in the world to clean out that boys dirty mouth, and I'm grateful for it. He is a naughty, naughty boy. And yet, he has so much heart. He's really a sweet and squishy gummy bear, and he's really savvy smart. He's damaged, which really is what we all love to fall for, am I right? But he's a good guy, even if he is very naughty... *starts the fan on high* He's completely lickable. Excellent book boyfriend material. Unfortunately... he's 100% sold on Harper, and I can't even blame him, but that means I have no chance with him. *sigh*
There is some serious steam in this, but the story is what really takes the spotlight, which is key for me. I love some smut, but I need real story and characters that are worth connecting with. This definitely fits the bill. The story of how they met, fell apart, and managed to find their way back is really special.
As always, L. Ann does an amazing job. While this is outside of what she's written before, I think it's the best thing she's written so far, and I'm aching for more. I need more... like yesterday.

This book was amazing and crazy hot ,make sure you sit with a fan 🤣 we meet Gabe and Harper and follow there crazy story with added twists thrown in just to keep you on the edge for a bit longer , this is definitely a must read or a reread over and over again like me 😁

I LOVED Tattooed Memories. This one is going on my shelf!! DEFINITELY 5 stars and 2 thumbs way way up!! Don't get cocky when reading this book, the author likes to screw with her readers and throws some twists in there designed to mess with your mind! But trust me, the twists are worth the chaos and roller coaster of emotions you're going to experience...

Damn! I loved this one!
It made me smile and tear up, and even cuss out loud. And it made me fall in love. With a rockstar asshole! (*shrug*) And I can safely say I never saw that coming!
This second chance rockstar romance starts with a bang, getting me hooked from the very first page. And from then onwards, it was a wild rollercoaster ride. One that had me turning pages late into the night, up to the very end.
"Lavender hair, ... and a frosty attitude. You haven't changed at all. I think I might be in love. Will you marry me?"
These are the words with which Gabe Mercer meets Harper, the girl he'd left behind with a broken heart. When they were younger and he meant the world to her, he chose to break her heart and walk away. Years later, fate - or a few well placed passes - bring them together again. Him - a famous rock god, while she's perfectly content with being a nobody.
Neither had forgotten the other, especially Gabe, who seems to be determined to get another chance.
You'd think he'd use the opportunity to ease back into the girl's graces, right? I mean he does seem to want her after all! Well, he goes after her all right, but in way that made me instantly hate his guts and brand him as a bona fide SOB! To the point that I literally found myself muttering: Why don't you go fuck yourself asshole! Preferably on a big fat cactus!
It's hard to read a story when you literally hate the male MC but Harper seemed so sweet, and she dished it back in a totally 'You go girl!' manner, that I just had to see where the story goes, for her sake. And I'm really glad I did, because just a few pages later, the author takes us to the past, to the moment it all began, when little 8 year old Harper, meets little Gabriel - the boy with the sad eyes.
And little Gabe, was so different form the present schmuck! So sweet and gentle and with such a sorrowful heart!
“Wh-what are you d-doing?” His voice was little more than a whisper, hesitant and unsure, almost like he didn’t speak aloud very often. “Squeezing the sadness out of you,” I told him.
Now how can one not react to something like that!!
Straight to the heart!!
So I kept reading, wanting to know, how that sweet little boy ended up the asshole I couldn't stand. Then wondering if there's still something of that sweetness left behind.
As the story unfolded, told from both Harper's and Gabe's POVs, alternating between past and present, and as I slowly got to know more of their connection, the background, history and emotions, I slowly started to warm up to the present day A-hole Gabe. And in the end, I even fell in love. With a broken rock god alike a fallen angel! Because they're the best kind! "Capable of the strongest kind of love, with just a hint of darkness to keep it interesting."
Beautifully written and absolutely compelling, this second chance love story of a boy who held a girl's heart in his hands and shattered it because he wasn't worthy of love, is one to fall in love it.
It has a perfect balance in between a gripping plot and heartfelt romance, steamy hot scenes and great fun banter, with a thrilling little mystery thrown in the mix. And it's jam-packed with feeling!
And the highlight of it all for me was Gabe! The bona fide SOB I couldn't stand at first. The kind and thoughtful boy who lived under a dark shadow. "A boy who had nothing, yet gave everything."
All in all, Tattooed Memories is a beautiful tale full of heart that I simply just LOVED!

Omg! I picked this book up at the suggestion of one of my reader groups, thinking I had never read this author before. That is until I get to a certain part with some familiar names and it took me a second to realize that I LOVED her Midnight pack series and I just missed that this was the same author. I was hooked from the start and fell in love with the characters. They are so relatable and I had mood swings along with them. Definitely a good book to pick up!

I cannot recommend this book enough. It deserves 10 stars. I read this book as an ARC therefore I won’t give spoilers. Gabe and Harpers story will have you picking your jaw up off the floor, biting your nails, in tears, wanting to wrap them in security blanket and lock them in a room to keep them safe. It is filled with wit, banter and two people who have their emotions locked down in a fortress. Enjoy the ride and fall in love with Gabe and Harper! I sure did!
Also be prepared for strawberrygate! It’s HOT!

Wow, I’m a little speechless right now.
This story was not what I was expecting at all. I was pleasantly surprised!
This love story was like no other. The trials and tribulations each character had to surpass gave me all the feels.
So many feels here for sure. A rollercoaster of memories that gutted you but kept you completely engrossed.
The chemistry, oh man was that beyond steamy. There no denying that at all.
Gabe, epitome of your bad boy with a heart of gold. There were times I wanted to clock him for pulling his stunts but it’s hard staying mad at the guy.
Harper, her sweet but edgy demeanor won me over quickly. I admired her completely for loving Gabe hard, despite his faults.
It takes a strong woman to give multiple chances when a guy messes up. Some may not see it like that, but to me their love outshone all the darkness.
I fell in love with the complete cast of characters and cabt wat for more! And this will be one of my top reads this year!

Tattooed Memories takes a stereotypical rocker romance genre and turns it into the angst you never knew you were missing.
Gabe carries a dark past, always wanted to protect Harper from it, but you don't always get what you want. Harper is broken, moving on from a love she needs to forget to become whole again. But, when your everything shatters, you can't glue it together with random pieces. You'll need to find all the ones you lost and seal with back with glue that needs to defy all odds.
Happy endings don't always come pretty, they aren't always easily reached. Adults make just as many stupid decisions as children do, but righting the wrongs is what sets you apart from the rest.
Gritty, hot, angst-ridden with a twist is what you'll find in this novel. Come for the plot, stay for the ride and rock on to the playlist!

Once again, the author takes the reader on a journey that leaves you wanting more. I couldn’t put it down until I had finished it. I don’t like to give too much away, but with Gabe and Harper characters, the saying ‘don’t judge a book by its cover’ is very apt. L. Ann has mixed present with the past, in a way that enhances the storyline that enables you to have a better understanding of Gabe and Harper. I also liked the reference to music at the start of each chapter. For those that already follow L Ann, see if you can find reference to L. Ann other books.
New readers of this author will definitely not be disappointed by this book and L. Ann style and will most definitely want to check out her other books.

This book is not for those of a sensitive, or prudish disposition, or a leaning for sweet romance. Gabe is a broken, filthy, deeply traumatized and flawed man with a redemption arc that takes time and patience. This book is nasty in all the right ways and made me want strawberries 🍓🤷🏼♀️
The writing is excellent, the banter between the characters is sharp and funny, the sex is dirty (I’d kinda like some protection at least at first, or an “I dunno where that thing has been” comment, cause lawwwwwd has he been around!) but consensual. The characters push each other to grow in ways no one else in their lives have.
I’d like an epilogue where Harper is a nurse. She’s chased after her own dream and made it happen and Gabe opened homes for abused kids in every state with his millions.
I think I enjoyed this so much because I found so much that was relatable with the characters. When you peel back the sex, drugs and rock and roll you get a broken man and a woman who’s childhood sweetheart smashed her heart in pieces. We are all flawed, we are all imperfect, we all make bad decisions and do things we regret but when it comes to love you gotta fight for it.

Such an amazing story and very well written. I can't wait to hear this book on audio! Gabe and Harper's story is so beautiful and super steamy! I loved the world building and how the characters develope. And the epilogue! Oh I need more! Strawberries will never be the same lol. I ready for Seth's story now, *wink wink*.

I want to start by saying I LOVED this book by L. Ann and Narrated by Thomas Locklear.
The interlinking of past and present will hooked and wanting more.
You shouldn’t like Gabe and you may not in the beginning but stick with him because he will dive straight into your heart for sure alongside Harper. This is a very hot and steamy love story with lashings of heart stopping moments.
Harper is the only one who truly knows Gabe the guy who looked after her as they grew up, he was her everything after meeting as children they built a strong connection of friendship until one night when they gave in to their desire for each other which left them feeling very different regards to their future resulting in Gabe leaving Harper behind.
Forgotten Legacy is the bad boy rock band that Gabe’s becomes part of and he obviously he's hot and sexy so attracts the usual die-hard fans who follow the bands every move. Unfortunately, there is someone out for revenge to hurt Gabe and the worst way is to hurt him is to hurt those he loves like Harper and that just what they try to do.
L. Ann will keep you guessing right up until the end and just when you think you know who it is you have to rethink everything all over again which is genius because it keeps you hooked until the end which is what every book lover wants out of a book, you will not be disappointed.

Stories filled with self-sabotage and floundering confidence conflicted with phenomenal talent and achievements. Overarching suspense and twisty plotting were done skillfully by this author as she created impressive intricately interwoven storylines. It was clear from the start of this series that L. Ann knows her way around drama and angst with the powerful emotions she expressed throughout her works. Her handling of dark subject matter was done with sensitivity and kindness. These were not superficial reads but layered with massive amounts of information and insight. Perfect second chance Rockstar romance it’s so good I’ve listened to it 3 times.
Harper Jackson has tried for years to forget Gabe Mercer but it’s been hard as being a Rock Star he’s always in the media.
Gabe has never forgot Harper and how she saved him many times growing up together but now he wants her back in his life and he will do whatever it takes to achieve it.
Loved this book so much and the flashbacks to Gabes childhood brought one or two tears to my eyes ,when he treated Harper the way he did I wanted to hate him but just couldn’t. When I listened to this last year I had never listened to anything by L. Ann or the narrator Thomas Locklear but they are on my top author and narrator list now .

This book was amazing!
It’s not my usual genre but one of my favorite authors wrote this and I decided to give it a try. Spoiler alert you will never look at ice cubes and strawberries the same!!!
I loved how Gabe and Harpers story unfolded and was explained why they weren’t together but all that they had been through. The author weaves a story that makes you finish the book and go when is the next one being released?! The author gives you a great story which has twists and turns that you don’t see coming. The antagonist was a upsetting surprise but this author is known for throwing curveballs. I loved seeing Deacon and Shaun again and how the friendship started and lasted.
A phenomenal read that was well worth missing sleep for.

Book 1 in the series L.Ann the author wrote a fantastic heart gripping Rock story. L.Ann didn’t write your typical Rock story. The storyline is is well written, the author did a few twists and turns . You will be listening till the end.
Harper the heroine and the hero Gabe. They both Harper and Gabe have been childhood friends. They have an instant attraction to each other , they give into their feelings but things went south after that night. Gabe now is a famous Rock Star . He sees Harper again after 8 years. He wants her back , grab it and see if they become a couple again.
Thomas Locklear performance was fantastic. His voice is strong, clear and brings you into the story

Ok so L Ann Is a new to me author and after this series was recommended to me I couldn't wait to jump in.
Firstly I have to say..how lush is that cover?? It definitely draws you in and makes you want to read!
The story is set around Gabe and Harper who meet as neighbours when they are younger... the book takes you to the present and also shows your glimpses into their past and shows you why they are and how they got to this place.
The intense chemistry and angst between these guys is amazing.. with that and the steamy scenes between them you can't help but keep flicking those pages!
These pair were meant for each other but as always nothing is easy and there is many twists along the way.
Loved all the characters involved in this read and cant wait to jump into book 2 straight away.

The story is set around Gabe and Harper who meet as neighbours when they are younger... the book takes you to the present and also shows your glimpses into their past and shows you why they are and how they got to this place.
The intense chemistry and angst between these guys is amazing.. with that and the steamy scenes between them you can't help but keep flicking those pages!
These pair were meant for each other but as always nothing is easy and there is many twists along the way.
Loved all the characters involved in this read and cant wait to jump into book 2 straight away.

Gabe is Harper's past and she wants to keep ot that way despite him being famous. Gabe knows that he broke Harper's heart before he left her. They are forced back into each others lives but can they keep each other safe.
This is a second chance romance by L.Ann, It is different to her paranormal romances but it is definitely just as good.
Reading about Harper and Gabe's past helped build up their reunion and the new relationship that they have.
As well as the romance there are plenty of twists and turns in this book. But you also get the steam and there are plenty of steamy moments between the pair.
