Mimi, a small black poodle, escapee of a cruel puppy mill, was found and taken home by Nicole Marcel, a pretty girl singer in the beautiful city of Paris. The two were inseparable, and I, as friend and author, came to understand Mimi, her moods, her feelings, her sensibilities. Certain of her actions were so expressive, they needed little translation. MIMI TAKES PARIS is the history of the little dog’s adventures. It is the beginning of her story, the first book of The Mimi Series. Elizabeth Cooke, born and bred in New York City, graduate of Vassar College and The Sorbonne, is the author of several books about Paris, where she lived in the 1950s.
This was just fun. I read it in a sitting. Everyone likes a smart chic girl with a poodle for a sleuth. You know how after a while you and your pet begin to know what the other is thinking? Well that’s what this is about. Maybe a little more fictitious than that, but it sure is cute. I also found it humorous that you get a POV from the poodle’s mind too.
This is a feel-good read. It is also Book 1 of a series title “The Mimi series”. Hope there’s another.
A very cute book that’s a fast read. Sure some things happen faster than they should but you know what I liked an easy mystery. Mimi the little poodle is charming and a good detective. The cover is cute. A cozy mystery that’s for sure.
ThiS is the first book in a delightful new series about Mimi, a black poodle living in Paris. It details her adventures as she experiences Paris. It is a cute, easy-to-read, story that should appeal to animal lovers of all ages.
Badly and simplistically written it does not hold your interest. None of the characters have any discernable personalities and even the dog hero is a bore and too precious to be liked or cared about. This was received as a Goodreads giveaway.
