It is pleasantly exciting
And oh so heart&body soaring
So the last book I read of J.K before this one was Hefty
I am so happy that how beautifully these two books promoted Men’s Body Positivity
We all could use more of that in our fictional world
Our heroes need acceptance too you know? They shouldn’t be fantasized about just because they have ripped greek god-like body and features.
They should be fantasied because of the way they treat their girls 🦋

Well I finally did it. I read my first Jessa Kane book and it was a quick and easy read. I didn't really go in expecting much because from what I've heard a lot of these books are good to read as pure entertainment. Husky takes place during fashion week and focuses on a romance that develops between Daws and Parker. It's not exactly realistic not only because of the insta love that happens, but also some of the dialogue didn’t really work. Nevertheless, it was great to see a plus sized hero. I wish that he would have had a tad bit more confidence. His internal dialogue was a little rough especially because he didn't feel like he deserved Parker at all. BUT their sexual chemistry was through the roof and they were sweet and endearing to each other. There was a leap of faith that they both took that I enjoyed and I'm glad they were able to work through their conflict. I did love the fact that Kane utilized Daws to break the stereotypes of the fashion industry. It's not completely developed in terms of the plot, but I think for the length of this story it works. Overall, it was a good introduction to Jessa Kane and I'll be checking out more of her works.

This came along when I needed a break from IRL and a reason to pull my head out of my current book. It was the perfect Rx—short, 47 pages, and mindless. I giddily checked my brain cells at page one. Unfortunately, a few slipped back at 67%. The PDA and a little matter of hygiene was a stretch for me.
Otherwise:

Not the perfection I was expecting.. 3.5 stars...
Jessica Kane is an author who has been recommended to me by so many readers and book groups, so I was excited to finally pick up one of her books. I didn't mind the instalove aspect, but I found the writing to be a bit OTT and too mushy. The sex scenes were so steamy and hot though, and Daws was a great j/p hero. I think I will try another of J. Kane's books eventually as they are so highly recommended, but my expectations have definitely lowered ♡

This is a new favourite of mine done by Jessa. We have a sweet, beautiful heroine and a big husky and scarred hero. I loved it. Daws was totally lost around Parker, you could tell he'd literally do anything she asked of him. And Parker was just as lost for him.

We finally get to read a bigger dude so score for that. Parker won a fashion spot due to the tv show challenge she won, but she has no spark somethings missing. And then she walks into a bar and meets Daws the owner and a ex bodyguard and boy oh boy their connection is hawt. But as they work together in the modeling world they have few snakes that try to separate them. For some reason. Parker was wayyyyyy to idk for me. Pure? Innocent or just dizty.
Kinda wish the friend got hers. Because we didn't see anything she got for trying to break them up. I did love Daws he was a teddy bear.

I loved everything about this book. But the way Daws begs with Parker is what sets it apart from most. He’s a dominant force, a beast of a man yet he begs for release from the woman that hold him captive. Having an older heroine who’s still a virgin but knows her body was refreshing. She takes what she wants, including a fantastic few face riding moments.
But it’s their moment at the High Line city walk, overlooking the Hudson, that was absolute 🔥 fire🔥 I mean she hugs him like a baby koala and hides under his jacket as he… yup all that!! No, your jealous I’m not jealous 😭
Parker Hauser words capture the essence of ever Jessa Kane book: “What woman wouldn’t want to be desired like this? To a point that a man can’t keep from spilling at the sight of you.”
But ooohhhh, her ‘best-friend’ is no friend. That woman had me wanting to slap her upside her head so hard she saw next year! How these two women survived as BFF’s is beyond me but ugh!! I’m so annoyed by her. I mean what the heck kind of woman says something like THIS 🤬

Husky started nicely. I liked the premise with the hero, a bartender, being unconventionally handsome (according to the usual standards in eroticas) and the heroine being a young new designer who only has 24hrs to come up with men clothing for the fashion show. I liked the fact that they were both so different but were still very much attracted to each other...
Daws was a nice hero. I liked how possessive and protective he was from the start. As soon as he met Parker, he was instantly entranced by her and would literally do everything for her. He wanted to be her guardian if he couldn't be more, and I thought it was very sweet. I also loved the fact that he had some insecurities when it came to his looks. It's not really often that eroticas portray male leads whom are insecure, so when they come around, I tend to be easily swooned by them.
I didn't really care about Parker. I didn't understand her personality...I thought she was all over the place. Sometimes she was bold and other times she was sweet and innocent. The way she was acting was just a little bit too odd for me to really appreciate her. But overall, she was okay, I guess.
My only issue with JK's novellas is that the stuff that happens in the story always happens within a day. Make it a week, and I'll be fully on board. I understand insta-love and I understand insta-lust, but it often feels like the characters are missing steps between their actions, and this is where I kind of lose the immersion and where my interest wavers. I'm a Pacing Patricia, okay? I like my good ol' pacing.

Husky by Jessa Kane is a short hot steamy read which if you have a couple of hours for a little different then this is the book you need.
It's a different alternative from the sexy alpha male falling for the plain Jane ( I hate that expression but if the shoe fits 😬) it's the up and coming young beautiful girl meets the big rough and ready, slightly bigger and slightly older bar man which makes it a little more fun to read, with plenty of steam.
Definitely recommend this 📓

No del todo de mi agrado. Me gusto que no tuviera al clasico protagonista perfecto pero creo que su historia no es nada realista, puede que si su conexion se hubiese dado de forma mas paulatina, me la hubiese creido mas.
En general, un relato apresurado y fantasioso que distrae, pero que no satisface al 100%.
Recomendable para las fans del estilo de Alexa Riley.
