This book is chock full of great ideas to save money and the environment. The slight downside is that he does not give you any actual company names or direction how to find the resources he suggests you use, however, I'm sure a simple Google search would work just as well and I can understand what a can of worms it would open if he did name drop, so I didn't really hold that against him. This is a very simplified look at how to be a more environmental citizen all the while benefiting your own health and finances. I personally liked that it was so simple b/c it makes it feel doable. I was pleased to find that we are already doing many of his suggestions, and even more pleased to see that there is more we can do without a lot of added expense or inconvenience. What a great resource! Definitely recommended...

Obviously outdated, so I'm not going to fault him for that, but some of the stuff he tries to get you to go without in life is just ridiculous.

Life is too short, so we should enjoy it to the fullest. Human beings are innately selfish and destructive and will inevitably destroy the planet anyway, so we might as well have fun before it happens.

Quick read, some things to learn, but overall it was meh.

This was an ok book filled with good ideas. However, they aren't as practical as it leads you to believe. Yes, there are ways to save money and do better for the environment, however this book is short on specifics (what grey box to assist with power, where does it come from, what is cost). And other items, which would save in the long run seem to forget that there is a cost up front, which most may not have readily available (solar panels come to mind). Some great ideas, but overall not to practical for the average person with the average non-existant savings account in this day and age.
