Whew! This was a very intriguing read. Kept me interested with all of the twist and turns! The secrets that people have and the need to keep them hidden is a mutha.....‼️
Very well written, interesting read that I couldn't stop reading. Twists, turns, and the suspense of whose behind it all is enough to keep any readers attention. I love the way B.M. Hardin tells a story in her books. Her creativity is amazing and I will continue to read her books.
Fast paced suspenseful story that kept me reading as the twists and turns appeared on every other page. Merci was definitely surrounded by drama. Great story
I first came across this book in a reader group I’m part of—someone posted a snippet and I devoured it in minutes. That short glimpse was enough to send me straight to Kindle to grab the full thing. The cover didn’t initially match what I expected from the excerpt, but once I got deeper into the story, it all started to make sense.
The plot centers around Merci, who finds herself held hostage and forced to fight for her life. The twists and turns in this story are wild—I never saw the serial killer angle coming, but once it hit, it hit hard. And honestly? I was here for it. The people she went after? They had it coming. Merci may have blood on her hands, but in this story, she was the innocent one, and justice had a different face.
That said, there were moments where the pacing dragged a bit. I caught myself thinking, “Okay, let’s get to the good stuff already.” But once it picked up? I couldn’t put it down. This book takes you for a ride, and if you’re into morally gray characters and stories with dark twists, this one’s worth the time.
Would’ve been five stars if not for the slow build-up—but still a strong and satisfying read.
When reading a B.M. Hardin book, be prepared for an over the top outrageous ride. Twisted Intentions was fast-paced and suspenseful but was a little all over the place. This book was in desperate need of better editing. There were some points when the author would have characters talking and instead of saying someone handed something or gave me something she used the word reached me. Like he reached me a robe. Huh? Who speaks this way? It DROVE ME CRAZY!!!!!
Merci Miller was a killer but a reluctant one. She was in desperate need of some inpatient therapy from all the trauma she experienced. There were so many story plots that could have and probably should have been their own books. Plus why were the chapter so abnormally long? I see a lot of four and five star reviews and I guess they didn't mind the typos and plot irregularities. Nevertheless, it was an entertaining read.
My book club selected this book for discussion. We will definitely have a lot to discuss.

"Twisted Intentions" by B. M. Hardin
My Speculation:
If you are looking for a great read, with twists and turns, lies, kidnapped, deceit, humor, blackmail, murder, love, suspense, mystery, and lots of family drama that will keep you turning the pages to see what is coming next in this story of "Twisted Intentions." With Merci and her three sisters with all of there secrets they were hiding, along with some so-called friends [Raven & Jamison], and then there is Titus that will put the icing on the cake to name a few. The story had there fair share of crazy dysfunctional characters that will keep you on the edge of your seat. All in all, we are given a well-written tale where you will have to pick up this read to see if love wins in the end for Merci and Titus. The ending will give the reader 'Twisted Intentions' when it's all said and done.
Another great book by B.M Hardin I was hooked from the very first page all the way to the end, Merci was kidnapped by a lunatic crazy scientist, and from than on the story gets better and twists pulls you deeper into the wanting to know more about the characters, some secrets will be revealed.
Deliciously twisted. Heart pounding. Jaw dropping. My new favorite by Ms Hardin - how many times have I said that? Just an awesome plot with awesome writing that sucks you in right away. Oh yeah, I highly recommend this gem.
It was a page turner from the start. She don't know who was her friend or who was again her. One person help her find all she need in the end. I'm so glad she was able to find love at the end of the book.
This author knows how to tell a story! This book was so good. It moved along nicely. No boring, slow, dragging parts at all. The twists and turns were great. I loved this book. And I love this author. Read her! You will not be disappointed.
This book kept me engaged from beginning until the end. No fillers. Just drama and suspense. Although the M.C. had little empathy, I liked her and wanted the best for her. The twists and the ending satisfied me.
Of course BM Hardin has done it again with this drama filled story. From every angle it has drama and every character has their own drama. She never disappoints in her writings.
This book was soo good. BM hardin definitely knows how to craft a book. This book had so many twists and turns and it kept me on the edge of my seat. I love Merci. She had so many sides to her and I loved it. I will continue to be a fan of BM Hardin.
I to say this but for me, the book was just ok. The beginning was good but by chapter 8 I lost interest. I had to skip through to finish the book. I like this author so I will continue to support.
I thought I would scratch my eyes out if the author wrote how beautiful someone was because the we "light skinned." Should we produce a paper bag for the old paper bag test: if you are darker than a paper bag you are too dark and therefore less attractive.
Ive read several books by this author. This one I had trouble getting thru. The storyline just didn’t keep me interested. It started off good, but started to drag towards the middle. The Main character Merci was the perfect victim, but the other characters Meh... just didn’t have the twist I was looking for.
Talk about twisted intentions... this book was not a book that had me on the edge of my seat... But it definitely had me wanting to read more... It kept me guessing and entertained all the way through... The only problem I had was with how much things were being repeated... other than that it was definitely a good read... Merci... What can I say about her... She was traumatized by what happened to her... and for a while she let it hold her back from living her true life... She had secrets that was really holding her back from things... But one night out on the country road changed things for her... In a good way and unfortunately also in a bad way because it started and event of things that changed so many relationship that she had with those around her... Especially the ones closest to her... Titus what can I say about him... In the beginning I was shaking my head at him... But as time went on and I got to know him I can see he was not as bad I original thought... He was the one that helped Merci finally find herself and her happiness again... Even though originally he wanted no part of it... Now Titus dad was what kept me laughing... The off the wall things he said was hilarious... Ava was Merci's sister... She was pretty much doing all she can to protect her little sister and trying to help her live her life again... But Ava had her own little sections going on... She was destroying her own little family... And for what... but like they say... what is done in the dark will definitely come to the light and when you least expect it... Then we have Raven which is Merci's best friend and Rvaen's husband Jamison... They were the rock for Merci through all of her hard times that she was going through... It was just something about Jamison that was not fitting right... Slowly things started to change and people's hands were being revealed... But I didnt expect it to be like this... Man I guess you can't trust everyone... Merci quickly learned how to lie very well and she became very manipulative... She kind of became a different person... But in the end she got what she deserved... And that is happiness... Overall it was a pretty good read and I enjoyed it...
According to Merci Miller, she tends to kill sometimes. "Once by mistake. Once by request. Once by Alibi. And once for love." Each time she had to, or at least, that's what she keeps telling herself. She's introduced as a victim who eventually becomes thirsty for love. After the horror she's been through, all Merci wants is to be loved, but the way she attempts to achieve it is twisted, which makes the story unique. However, I was turned me off a bit when she said things, such as, "I am beautiful. We all are. All of us girls are light-skinned, and we favored each other." The way it was worded made me side-eye the author. It seems like Merci thinks her and her sisters are beautiful because they have a lighter skin tone. I was already turned off a bit when the author described Merci with strawberry blonde curly hair at the beginning, but it just makes me cringe that the author chose to make her look exotic, which is an annoying cliché. I probably wouldn't be so bothered by it if the author didn't make it seem like her beauty was defined by her physical attributes. And there were other things in the story that made me cringe even more, such as, when Titus says to Merci, "And you do know black people don't do sh*t like this, right?" Seriously?! I am certain that no RATIONAL person would do that, and Merci isn't rational. It's NOT normal for anyone to do, regardless if they're white, black, or indigo. So, why have your character make an ignorant comment like that?
In the end, I just couldn't relate to any of the characters, especially not Merci. She was too cold-hearted; not remorseful at all. I understand that she was victim, and her experience changed her, but that doesn't give her an excuse to leave someone dying in the middle of the road. And all of the characters, especially the protagonist seemed under developed. Merci didn't seem much different by the end the story. Also, the story seems to drag a bit, and was a tad bit boring at times. Overall, it was okay. I did enjoy Mr. Earl (he's a funny character), but the story wasn't good or bad. It was just okay.
A young lady is kidnapped one evening while out running. She is kept in an abandoned cabin in the woods for weeks. When an opportunity arises to escape she jumps at it, struggling with the kidnapper and killing him. She runs into the woods to get away and eventually connects with the police. They question her and put out a search for the kidnapper. She knows they will never find him because he is dead. As months past, she returns to the abandoned cabin frequently as a way to deal with the trauma. After one particular visit, she witnessed an accident when a motorist hits a man. She hears him on the phone talking and when he decides to leave, she realizes she is a witness to hit and run. She leaves the crime scene not wanting to get involved. Things take a dramatic turn when she finds out the victim is her sister’s father in law and the man that hit him is a famous actor. She has a decision to make, either she helps her family or helps the person responsible get away with the crime.
I wasn't sure where the author was going with this story at first, some parts were long winded which made me sit it down a few times. After getting back comfy I was able finish and found that it was quiet interesting as it went. To me it should have been called twisted mental, because all of them need to be in an insane asylum. Open marriages, hitting the old man, crazy wives, trader friend, they were all a mess. They say money is the root of all evil, and per usual it be your own people. With all the craziness a weird and unorthodox love story was takin place. Who knew that blood on the hands would spread love in the air. I guess there's a psychotic love out there for all.
That's all I can say about the main character in this book. She suffered at the hands of a deranged person who stalked her for months just because, now her whole world is turned upside down. It's a shame so many people lost their lives but at the end of the day their own actions caused the outcome. I believe her mother asked her to do what she did because out of all of her dysfunctional children, she felt Merci would be ok. Good story kept me guessing?
Wow! B.M. has done it again. Twisted Intentions was a nail biter but definitely a page turner. Merci and her family definitely went through a lot of trials but the unconventional triumph was worth it in the end. All three sisters had a secret that they had been hiding until they couldn't anymore. Having friends like Raven and Jamison could have proved disastrous but in the end Merci was the bigger person.
I have read multiple books from this author and this one just didn't do "it" for me. I can only give this book 3 stars because of the plot twists at the end--there were a few. Merci just wasn't likable. On one hand one could possibly sympathize with her due to what she'd been through, but ultimately she didn't need love, she needed a therapist. This was a quick read and at times unrealistic but everyone has secrets--I guess.
I'm going to start by saying I recommend this book to anyone who wants a solid story line and not pages and pages and pages, of detailed, crazy unprotected sex. Titus and Merci worked for me, even though there were moments when Merci did irritate me.
Personally, I prefer a solid plot and when the sex scenes happen, there's a natural flow into them.
Thank you B.M. Hardin for another, well written book!
I enjoyed reading this book! It left me with lots of different emotions! Sometimes I was tearing up, then I would be on the edge of my seat to see what else was gonna happen! I truly loved Mr. Earl's character. I felt that all the secrets were gonna come to light, but they never did and I'm not sure if that was a good thing or not! I think everyone will enjoy reading this book! I definitely recommend it!
