To save her from danger, this Alpha wolf must get burned by the flames.
CASSIA
Secrets. I have to hide the truth about myself. As a half-dragon, I'm wanted, Coveted, Hunted.
I'm a weapon of mass destruction, With a fiery temperament, That can destroy anyone. And they want me.
Hellbent on finding my parents, I'll stop at nothing to rescue them, Even if it means enlisting an unlikely ally, With smoldering eyes and scars of his own, One who's determined to protect me. But at what cost?
COLM
A price, On her head. But I refuse to give her up. I refuse to let them have her.
And when they offer the ultimate prize, I have to choose, My future or hers.
Torn between desire and freedom, Love and loss, I have one choice to make. Get burned by the flame, Or die trying.
As a civil lawyer, I spent many, many years writing complex legal briefs for unappreciative bosses. To keep from stabbing myself (or them) in the eye with a fork during all of that, I also started writing down the stories in my head. All on my own time, of course ;) Turns out, I'm a sucker for hot, alpha male shifters and kickass heroines.
Now, I've thrown away my shingle (er - more like burned it in a fire pit) so I can devote my time to bringing you sizzling, erotic, paranormal romance stories. If you like hunky, bad boy shifters, women who know what they want in and out of the bedroom, panty-melting sex scenes, and edge of your seat suspense, I've got you covered! We'll put the rahr in erotic romance (okay, okay, that sounded better in my head).

The setting of this story is an interesting and unfortunately credible one - a modern day America in which, faced with the perceived threat of people different to them, extremists have infiltrated the government, segregated and closed borders. It has a crumbling, post-apocalyptic feel.
While this was a promising start, I ultimately found Bitten by Flame a little amateurish. Fun, but not particularly skilful. Scenes are rushed through at high speed. Battles are won and lost in a few sentences. The relationship building consists of the same argument ad infinitum. It's underwhelming.
Honestly, this book was fine. It wasn't anything groundbreaking, and I found myself bored at times. Of course, this is my own opinion, and it could be better on a reread. I just don't see myself continuing this series, even though I thought I'd love this book. I would recommend checking it out if you're interested, but it was not for me.
Bitten by Flame is the first book in this spin off series and is absolutely fantastic❣️Aside from the amazing cover this story is set in a time years later after the Ring has infiltrated places like the government and made things harder for shifters and each is delegated to their own “area” as such😢
Now, Cassia has gone into the NZ (neutral zone) to track down someone by the name of Colm to help her find her parents who went missing a few months back. Her father, Xander is a full blooded dragon but her mother Shae is fully human and Cassia is worried about them and sets about finding information on them both. Unfortunately, this stirs up danger and puts her and Colm in its path😱
Can’t wait for the next story in this series and loved the ending for Cassia and Colm😁 I received an advanced copy from Kimber and I voluntarily leave my honest review🤩
The prose is very irritating with its short, stilted sentences, like a wannabe Jack London or Ernest Hemingway. At times I fully just did not know what was going on because the descriptions were so brief; for example, when you’re reading a romance with a dragon shifter, a phrase like “her skin ignited at my touch” or “the air in my lungs turned to fire for an instant” could really go either way, and I’d really prefer a clarifying clause or two after that instead of moving to the next action-packed sensory detail! The spicy scenes are very bland and kinda detract from the story IMHO because they don’t reveal anything about our characters’ thoughts or feelings and they’re not hot or dirty enough to stand out on their own merits. The fated mates aspect also took away a lot of the romance because instead of the characters being like, “do I like this person? What do we have in common? Do I want to take things further?” the question in this book became “well, a forever relationship is obviously on the table, but should I accept this burden?” And so when they finally decide to be together, it’s like, that’s the HEA right there. We don’t know if he wants kids or if she steals all the blankets when they sleep together or if he knows how she takes her coffee, but none of that matters because… fasted mates. … Kay.
Title: Bitten by Flame Series: Dragonborn Daughters #1 Release Date: #AlreadyReleased Author: Kimber White Reviewer:Ingrid Stephanie Jordan Serial: Standalone, No Cliffhanger Genre:#PRN #DragonShifters #WolfShifter ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ •••••••••••••• 💢Do you remember Alexander aka: Xander, Gideon, Finntan aka: Finn, Lochlan aka: Loch and Kian Brandhart the Dragon Shifter Brothers who live in Chicago and there thousand year old mother, Avelina who lives at Angel Lake. With the help of there mother they all found there mates now there daughters are making that journey. This is definitely a 5 ⭐️ page turner. I just love the way the family takes care of each other. Definitely a Must Read! 🔹️Colm Devane is a WolfShifter who is hired by Cassia Brandhart (No one know what she is even she doesn’t know) to find her mother and father. Can they find them or will they be captured by the RING? ☄️ This review is my own opinion, this author is one that I love to read her books.
She is searching for her parents, who disappeared a month or so ago. He is her last lead and doesn’t want to have anything to do with her at first. She smells of a shifter, but what kind he does not know. He is a wolf shifter willing to do almost anything to survive. She must keep her nature hidden because she is coveted, desired, and powerful. He is given a choice, betray her and earn a free token which means he could go anywhere, including home.
Wow! This book introduced me to shifter mingling, which I had not thought of before but could be a thing, but someone once said. “The heart wants what it wants.” And I couldn’t agree more with that sentiment. So I went with it and was not disappointed with the romance that blossomed from it.
This book has all it advertises in genres—a dystopian society, action & adventure, paranormal, shifters, and of course, romance. I think you will like this book if you like any of these genres. I give it five stars out of five stars.
Strong 3…. If judging by the cover for me its so pink I wdnt picked it however was happy I did based on description. The story was interesting which was running in the back and the apocalyptical, end of the world setup was great. I understand insta lust and was okey with the progress… there were moments of the romance like fact inserted that felt for me as a “what?” but in general quick adventure read with romance. I liked both main characters however I couldnt really get the rainbow hair coloring?! but being a halfdragon was cool. Wolfshifters are always my favorits so no surprise I luved Colm from square1. Extra points its a standalone and have a closure at the end. I may get back to check all dragon daughters.
This was a very good read, having read the original series I was fascinated by the possibility of this and I wasn’t disappointed. Cassia needs to find her parents. It’s a very different world to the one Xander’s story was part of but now he’s missing and so is Shae, Cassia’s only choice is to find a shifter named Colm, who has issues of his own, but when they meet will they both see that they’re better together? Great story and plot, loved the characters, Cassia is amazing and her drive to find her parents is wonderful, I loved Colm, his need to protect Cassia is lush, they’re love scenes are smoking, and the chemistry is off the charts. There is lots of angst, throughout the read, giving way to some pretty stressful scenes but overall a really good read.
It wasn't bad. It has a lot of action, but they seem to react to what happens to them instead of doing anything. They're not proactive at all. Also, they spent so much time hiding things from each other that the romance was not believable. They never seemed to trust the other, when they revealed their secrets it was because they were forced by the circumstances to do so, and out of the blue they would die for each other. For chrissake, she wants to kill him most of the time. At one point she almost did, and a couple pages after that she's in love and can't live without him. Things are solved very conveniently and without much effort. Some things felt rushed in the end.
Bitten by Flame is the first book in the Dragonborn Daughters series! It was a fantastic start to the series. I'm hooked!! I can't wait to see what book 2 holds, and I'll definitely be reading the entire series. Since it is the first book of a series there was a good amount of world building, but not too much and leaves plenty of room for more in the books to come. The two main character's attraction jumped off the pages and along with the secrets, danger, and will-they-won't-they trope it propelled the book to its epic conclusion.
Bitten by Flame is book 1 of Kimber White's Dragonborn Daughters Series. This series picks up after the Ring has taken control. The daughters of the last remaining dragons just know fur their way. Book 1 is Cassia and Colm's story. When the world is against you who can you trust? This set of nice Silk be an amazing be addition to Kimber's Wild Lake wolves series, as well as the Dragonborn series.
This is the first book for me from this author and as a lover of dragon books and all shifters really I read and fell in love with this book. I can’t wait to get my hands on the next one.
Cassia is a strong woman who has been sheltered but now those she loves needs her. Her secret is the #1 thing for her to keep but what will happen when life and death comes between you and your mate ? Full of action suspense and so much more. Loved it a lot!
I loved this read, and can’t wait to read the rest of the series. I loved the storyline and the characters… The troubles faced along with realisation of the strong attraction and emotional turmoil between Colm and Cassia kept me needing to keep going…. Fears of betrayal, lack of trust, and realisations of betrayals are sprinkled throughout… Just a really great read….
Overall, I enjoyed the story. If I could of done 3.5 I would have. The beginning pulled me in and I liked the character development. I enjoyed the enemies to lovers vibes. But I felt the middle got a little disjointed and the end felt rushed. But I was invested enough to keep reading. I will also add the next book to my .library and give the series another chance.
This story was well written and I just loved it. I am not usually a fan of dragon shifters or dragon riders in books but this one surprised me and held my interest all the way to the end. Plus it had a good ending tying up enough loose ends for the ending to be satisfying yet leaving enough unfinished to carry into the next installment! I can't wait! Smitten!
Whew...what an adventure we get with this book. Secrets, mystery, murder & mayhem all chase Cassia & Colm while trying to find her parents. Can Colm keep Cassia safe when he learns her secrets and can Cassia love him when she learns his?? I loved this book!!💞💞💞💞💞 I volunteered an honest opinion for this book.
Kimber White is a great storyteller, I have read all her books. I love series that are full of characters I already know and love and Bitten by Flame is another home run with two new dynamic people who have to grow to trust each other. The Dragonborn Daughters series will be as awesome as all of Kimber White's series.
This first book in a great new spinoff series is filled with adventure, mystery, drama and romance. Our characters are intriguing and although they both have secrets, they band together to try to uncover the whereabouts of Cassia’s parents. I enjoyed this story and look forward to the next one in the series.
I enjoyed the plot, but in the middle it seemed a bit to drag on. I felt like it took to long for them to stop lying too. I had many questions left after the ending about The Ring, but not enough curiosity to read the next book in the series. I’ll add the next to my TBR pile though just I cause I want to give the author another try.
Bitten by Flame is amazing. Kimber White with this book is right up there along with my favorites Rebecca Zanetti, J R Ward, McKenna and others. Suspense, romance, it had it all. A must read. Being on a budget I get all my books at my online library site. This was a freebie to which I am grateful for, so thank you Ms White!!
It was a great plot line. I like this new series. Not as steamy as some of the other books but still very good. Can’t wait to read more about their future.
This book would have been better if the author talked more about how the change occurred in society and the rising of The Ring. I just read the beginning of the second book in this series and it explains it a lot better.
Wow ,wait did I say wow! This was awesome a nail biter with twists and turns. Smexy times, adventure, I can't wait to read the next and next and next. So fair warning just get out that pocket book and buy them all.
I enjoyed this story. The brief chapter laid out the premise and it was interesting to see how they talked about real geography. I enjoyed the characters. Can't wait to read the rest if the series!

3.5 Stars The world-building was good. Cassia and Colm were a good couple. The concept for the book was good. There needs to be more editing. Besides the plot conflict typos, there were times when it seemed disjointed. Overall, it was a good story.
I absolutely loved this book!❤ seriously could not put it down. It was amazing and didnt end with questions! I cannot wait for the rest of them to come out.
1.5 stars. This felt all over the place and was overall a confusing read. It almost seemed like sentences were left out, and the editors were just like "oh they'll figure it out".
