Africa 101: The Wake Up Call

Rate this book
Africa 101: The Wake Up Call is a book about the “hunters” and the “hunted.” The hunters are Africa’s exploiters, slavers, colonizers, and neo-colonizers, and the hunted are the African people who survived against severe odds. In this book former African Union Ambassador to the United States Her Excellency, Ambassador Arikana Chihombori-Quao, MD. FAAFP tells the story of Africa in her usual in-your-face style. Although she served as a diplomat, she says that being diplomatic about the real issues facing Africa will do us no good. She warns in this book that the hunt is still ongoing and calls on Africans and people of African descent all over the world to rise up in defense of our beloved continent. Using personal stories, her father’s accounts from the village of Chivu in Zimbabwe, and solid historical references, Her Excellency, Ambassador Arikana Chihombori-Quao, MD. FAAFP educates, motivates, and challenges the status quo with regard to western countries’ abuse of Africa. This book will challenge you to your core and move you to action. I Can’t Breathe... Get off my neck. To get even more from Africa 101, get the printed hard cover, limited edition of only 5,000 hand numbered and signed personally by the Ambassador, herself. This special hard cover includes links to exclusive video messages at the end of each chapter from the Ambassador sharing with you her intimate and personal thoughts about each chapter. Awesome read!

I experienced a roller coaster of emotions while reading this lovely book. The author took me on a journey of eye opening revelations. Before now I solely blamed Africa’s current hardships on her corrupt leadership but this book exposed the root causes of our problems and challenges as a continent, as a people.
This book exposes the root cause of the problems Africa faces and has been facing for hundreds of years. Now am better informed and can stand up tall to defend Africa anywhere the opportunity presents. Corrupt African leaders are not exonerated from the problems of Africa but more focus or emphasis should be put on the western powers that have ensured these corrupt leaders remain in power as puppets to the west.
I believe it is time for Africa to expand our thinking on how we can become the most powerful continent on earth. Asians woke up many decades ago, it is now time for us to rise up and stop the shenanigans. We are kings and queens of Africa. Let us show the world our true colors. We must terminate every evil document or pact forced upon us a people by the colonizers. We are the inhabitants of the richest continent in the world. Let’s act like royalty for goodness sake.

A True Wake Up Call

A must read for every African and people of African descent, especially those of us who are still in the mental slavery in the diaspora.
A good substitute to what are now used as history test books in schools in Africa.

Uniting Africans in and out of Africa

Highly recommended for the enslaved and colonised for awareness of African history. Very emotive!
Can be a little repetitive in other areas although I still enjoyed reading repeated sections over and over again.

Essential Reading for African Diaspora

HE Chihombori-Quao is a vessel sent by our ancestors to wake is us out of our slumber. This book was well written, and each chapter is as important as the one before. The dark times detailed within are jarring, but it is fact and the truth hurts. Thankfully there is light shining through in the form of the AU and ADDI.

The most absurdly biased book that I've read.
Absolutely zero introspection of why Africa is not taking off and blaming the usual colonialism, slavery etc for its past. The author apparently has no ideas on on Africa's work ethic, cultures, family tradition, entitlement culture, election of bad leadership etc. She blames white people and the West for Africa's problems citing racism. She simply ignores facts such as every race in the world, Asian, Indian, Chinese, whatever, has prejudice against blacks. The treatment by Arabs on slaves is also simply ignored.
Just garbage, I'm afraid.
