Ram Sarup Ankhi (Punjabi: ਰਾਮ ਸਰੂਪ ਅਣਖੀ) was a Sahitya Akademi Award winning[1] Punjabi writer,[2] novelist and poet of Punjab. He started as a poet but ended up as a fiction writer. He received Sarb Shresht Sahitkaar award in 2009

These kind of stories does exist in rural Punjab and Ram Sarup Ankhi had the specialty to describe these stories in a effective way. The book tells the story of Partapi, a girl from a village in Punjab, who is having a affair with a boy, but then something really bad happens to her that changes her entire life.

The story is all about her sacrifices, patience and grieves. A must read book for Punjabi literature readers.

It is considered as Panjabi's classic novel. Tale of protagonist Partapi and his struggle when his husband brings another wife . In past life she was raped by a godman and she revenged her disgrace by killing that man, on other hand novel portrayed landscapes , culture , language , relationship and other nature of human beings . If you love Punjabi literature you can read this one.

It's all about partapi and her life just gets turned upside down when her husband brings home another wife...the whole book is about everything she has to go through after that...all the hard decisions she has to make, how much she puts up with...you can really feel it
