This is a story I didn't want to end!
I adored the characters, as well as the worlds this author created, and I have to admit it all made me wonder... Just how much of this might be true?
I don't want to give anything away, so just let me say, I was riveted. The author's insight into the minds of the characters is outstanding, her world-building vivid, and her storyline leaves nothing lacking!
You won't be sorry you gave this new author a try, I promise you!

I can't say enough about this debut book or the author. Ms. Winstead has a grasp on creative writing like none I've seen in a long while with their very first effort.
Both the characters and the worlds she has created are more than vivid. It all feels so real it will make you wonder just how much insight she has that we don't!
I honestly didn't want the book to end. Thank goodness and the author there's more to come!

The Fate of the Fallen is a well written and addictive novel with tons of twists and turns that kept me reading no matter how tired I was at three in the morning. I loved this novel and absolutely cannot wait to find out what happens to the characters when the sequel is released. A. E. Winstead should be very proud of the marvelous novel she has concocted; I definitely cherished it.

~Characters~
I loved, loved, loved Camryn and Ethan’s relationship. These two characters were fantastically constructed and written. They are believable teenagers with real life issues, that which I’m sure many of us have. From anxiety to depression, Winstead made the characters inclusive in terms of mental health. (Not to mention the Swifties rep.) The other two main characters, Arael and Uriah (two fallen angels) are also equally as interesting and perfectly written. I liked all of the characters, and were rooting for a couple relationships along the way. The characters are believable and realistic.
The only issue I had with the characters involved in the novel is that many of the characters introduced in Camryn’s life are seemingly important and then whisked away within the next chapter. It was slightly frustrating, but after the rest of the story played out it was somewhat forgotten.
~Writing and Setting~
Winstead’s writing is that of a vivid and imaginative author. Everything was impeccably written and allowed me to picture the events of the novel in my mind.
The setting of the novel is all over the place (in a good way). Uriah and Arael are two ancient beings who travel the earth throughout all of history, while Camryn and Ethan are two teenagers stuck in a dreary town in modern times. So, as the story switches back and forth between the four characters’ viewpoints, many different time periods, places, and situations.
~Plot~
I cannot express enough how magnificent the storyline and flow of this novel was. Despite the constant switching of POV’s, the story flowed from one part to the next and always had something mysterious around the corner. The story itself was just excellent, I literally cannot explain how good it was.
~Overall Review~
As I’m sure you already know, I loved the novel (did I mention that I loved the novel?). I genuinely think I’m going to go crazy before the sequel comes out, I cannot wait to find out what happens to Winstead’s fantastic characters. The plot, characters, flow, everything was just perfect and well written/planned.

From the first chapter, I was intrigued and could not stop reading this book! It got my attention and never let it go. The book was very well written. One thing I loved about reading this book is that the author did such an amazing job describing every detail that I easily could picture it as I read it. This book could totally be a best seller and one day be one heck of a movie too! If you are on the fence about reading the book, I suggest that you just do it! You will not be disappointed at all!

What a an awesome read this was. This is a book from a debut author and sometimes you worry about writing style and plot/character development but this one blew it out of the park. The writing was fantastic and it was told from 4 perspectives and to me they were very distinct. You never had to wonder what chapter you were in currently. The chapters were short which is a plus. The story pulled me in right away. The ending left me wanting the second book.

I struggled between rating this 4 or 5 stars, but ultimately it came to how long it took to merge the 2 sides of the story. I felt like it took longer than expected, but that might be the only critique I have.
Everything else about this book, I loved! Being that it's about an ancient war among angels, it is very heavily Biblically based, even going so far as have Bible verses at the beginning of some chapters. I loved that! As a Christian, it was very cool to get major Bible events from a different perspective. However, if you're not religious, I think you would still enjoy the book. Since the story goes between the perspective of angels and humans, I don't think the Biblical part gets to heavy or overwhelming.
I did enjoy the merging of the stories, and even though the way they merged I did figure out beforehand, several times I doubted myself. Overall I really enjoyed The Fate of the Fallen, and I'm definitely reading the next book right away since I actually have it!

Loved! The characters are compelling. The two teens are relatable, and the angel and her spirit guide are exciting. The world building is thoughtful and well crafted. I loved the pace of the story, and I can’t wait for book 2! If you love action and adventure, an apocalyptic war, and with a tad of romance thrown in you’ll love it. 😊

Love love love this book!!!! I didn't want to put it down and can't wait for the 2nd one to continue the story. Excited to find out what happens next. Great book and very talented writer.

A great start to a series, I loved the characters and the different worlds. It took me a while to get into the different POVs but when I did, I really enjoyed it. Perfect touch of fantasy. Looking forward to book 2!
