I write morally ambiguous characters who are pushed to their limits and take matters into their own hands. In my world getting away with murder has never been so much fun!
No matter what I write every one of my characters are real to me. They exist. They are three-dimensional beings who demand that their stories be told. If I were to turn away from them, they would haunt me; and so I don't. Instead I chase after them and write down everything they say!

Not what I thought
As I was reading and realized what the story was about I wanted to hate it, but for some reason I couldn't stop reading and I definitely couldn't hate it. Interesting, fascinating, full of action plus an understanding of just how loyalty, greed, love, hate and betrayal can affect families--- good and bad ways.

The House That Jack Built by M.M. Boulder 🏚️🩸🔪🎧📚 ~~ I read this on Kindle and listened to it on Audible, and talk about one seriously dysfunctional family! 😳🖤 Jack Ellis spent his life building a powerful family empire, but nearly a century later that family is being destroyed in a way he never could have imagined.
Sian Ellis suddenly finds herself surrounded by murder when members of her family are brutally killed, and she realizes she may be next. 🩸🔪 With only her brother Gavin left beside her, Sian is trying to stay alive while figuring out who is coming after the Ellis family and why. But then it becomes pretty obvious that Gavin knows more than he’s telling her…which immediately made me suspicious of EVERYTHING. 😂🤨
The deeper Sian digs, the more disturbing the Ellis family’s history becomes. This isn’t simply someone targeting a wealthy family—there are generations of secrets hiding underneath everything Jack built, and some secrets really should have stayed buried. 🏚️💀 I liked trying to figure out who could be trusted because every time I thought I had someone figured out, another piece of information made me question them again.
Listening on Audible really worked for this story because the narration added to the creepy family atmosphere and made the suspense feel even stronger. 🎧🖤 Between the murders, family secrets, questionable loyalties, and the increasingly twisted truth about the Ellis family, there was plenty to keep me guessing. This family puts the word dysfunctional on an entirely different level! 😂🔪🩸📚

Sian and Gavin Ellis come home from to find their entire family brutally murdered in what looks like a wild west shootout. Their father, mother, grandmother and little sister & brother are all dead. So are the dozen or so assassins scattered around the house. Soon the find out members of their extended family are also dead. Adults and children alike.
Their great-great-great grandfather was a poor immigrant to the United States from England in 1889, settling in Colorado. He built their family fortune from nothing so who is out to wipe out the entire Ellis family from the earth...and why?

This author is fresh and awe inspiring
The storylines are original and inventive. I have read enough to realize MM Boulder is amazing and never disappoints. When you're ready for a wild rollercoaster ride check her out. I know I have a new Must Read to my list, whether writing as Boulder or Crumley

This is the second book I have read of this author and I am not going to say anything about the storyline , other then bloody brilliant storyline you just have to read the book enjoy☺️

Interesting Take on an Old Quandary!
A wonderfully fast read, and very entertaining. Couldn't put it down to save my life. Quick, and quickening: though I surmised most of the twists ahead of time, I still felt the characters' individual sense of duty and betrayal.

Gripping story
I enjoyed the twists and turns. Good character development. Can't wait to see where the author takes the family next. If it's anything like her other series it's going to be lots of fun!

Good read
I wouldn’t consider this a psychological thriller so much but it was a good read. Interesting plot that would make a good movie.
