I am having a melt down. QUEEN CROW? Do you mean Avery freaking Beaumont. Lord have mercy on all of us if that is the case. I need this in my life. Like three months ago. I need this more than I need to breath. Please. A cover? A blurb? A vague description? ANYTHING?

"I think that you waged war for your family from the moment you took a breath on this Earth, and I think that you'll do it to the end."

* * *

From the boardrooms to the Bay, it doesn't matter who you are or where you're from, once you're in her sights, you'll never be the same. And you'll damn well never forget her name.

Aves.
Floss.
The Queen of Mounts Bay.

Avery Aspen Waverley Beaumont.

All Hail is book one of Avery's trilogy, and it's left me...reeling. This is the first time we see the world of Mounts Bay from Avery's perspective, and it was both everything and nothing like what I had expected. But it was so much better than I imagined. Avery, Aodhan, and Atticus left me snarling, sobbing, and spellbound. They broke me as they broke and lifted me as they rebuilt what was once destroyed.

This story opens in the Jackal's Lair, where we see a glimpse into the origin of the first crack in Avery Beaumont's perfect, icy facade before we are taken into the present to watch as Lips, Ash, Blaise and Harley head out on tour, leaving our Queen alone for the first time in her life. Her choice, not theirs. But it's dealing with the trauma of her "choices" that has Avery holding herself together, praying the cracks don't splinter her into a thousand pieces along the way. Praying for peace. Praying for the man who has held her heart for years to finally let her in as he lets her go.

But Avery Beaumont refuses to live on her knees. No matter how much it hurts, she decides it's time for her to stand on her own two Louboutin clad feet, and so The Queen rises. With the Butcher at her back, the stag at her side and the Crow looming in the shadows, we see Avery more determined than ever to collect her pawns and protect her family no matter the cost - even to herself.

J Bree gives us the most incredible, gut wrenchingly beautiful look into the mind of a woman who has walked through hell and managed to come out forged in fire. She doesn't write characters that escape the flames, but characters who rise from the ashes of who they used to be. I would read everything she writes for the rest of time if only for the way she writes these unparalleled female characters. For the agony and joy you feel for them. And for the webs she weaves that both ensnare you even as they enrapture you.

I'm trying not to give any spoilers, because this story needs to be read in all its glory, and it is glorious. If you love powerful, real characters with depth and purpose, with devotion and loyalty and an unyielding drive to protect those they love, you must read All Hail.

And forget stars. Give Avery and J Bree all the blood-soaked favor diamonds. All Hail is worth every single one.

Ummm..Atticus and Avery? Sign me the hell up! This is gonna be a rollercoaster!!!

UPDATE:

So this book wasn't what I was expecting. My preparation to read All Hail started with me re-reading the Hannaford series, which I have zero regrets about because those books are everything! I also finally got a move on the Butcher of the Bay series because I was hoping to find something related to Aodhan since I read through some reviews of All Hail and everyone was raving about Aodhan.

What happened in the Jackal's lair was disgusting. A game of "let's see what you do to save yourself" with Avery not backing down. But to find Avery processing the entire episode in another manner where she feels she took advantage justs seems so far-fetched too. I mean she knows her actions were to save both herself and Aodhan. So why exactly did she have all those nightmares after everything? Was her guilt making it worse for her?

I like Aodhan but he also seems too good to be true. Like he's saying all the right things Avery wants to hear and I also completely understand Atticus and his need to lock Avery in a cage. He's been trying to save her life ever since he was 18. He doesn't know how else to function and doesn't bother to realise she's strong enough to save herself even if she claims to be someone who doesn't prefer getting her way through murdering someone.

The new addition of the Crawford family made me feel all frustrated. It's like Senior's death didn't even make much of a difference. That reminds me of what Butcher told Harley back in the series about how there's always someone worse. The description of Crawford Senior's "lair" of women slaves was disgusting.. especially seeing Lauren there, who was completely numb to his torture. How the hell did she even get there?!

The cliffhanger was crazy!! I honestly thought that she was going to find Bingley (whom we saw the Butcher kidnapping for the Crow in his books) there. I also knew Crow kidnapped him and shot his kneecaps because of Avery and that was also explained in All Hail when Avery said she was "propositioned" by Bingley when she was 13. So yeah, instead of Bingley, Avery finds something even more ridiculous in the Crow's basement. I honestly hope the Crow isn't behind that. But at the same time, who else could it be?!! Ugh. Cliffhangers are the worst.

Also, why is this series even called Queen Crow if Avery is going to be involved with Aodhan as well? I mean sure I loved Atticus with Avery and the name of the series alluded to something with the two of them at the center..and now Aodhan is involved so that's just weird.

UPDATE NUMBER 2:

So I just finished re-reading the entire Hannaford Prep series and All Hail in preparation for The Ruthless and damn..I have no idea why I rated this book 4 stars! I guess initially I was all annoyed with Aodhan's involvement because I was all *Avery and Atticus FOREVER*.

But, during my re-read, I really enjoyed the scenes between Avery and Aodhan! Like damn that man is so perfect. Like he knows what Avery wants and he wants her enough to not cage her up for her protection.he wants her to dominate the world all by herself and only wants to be by her side when she does that! But like I also get Atticus..man..I'm so confused! Like everyone is right and I have no idea who to side with!! Also, that cliffy is making me feel all anxious to get my hands on the next book! Aaaaah!!

I love when a side character gets their own series, but this book just didn’t have the same effect I thought it would. Maybe it’s just me, but Avery’s story wasn’t what I expected it to be. This was probably a ‘me’ problem 😅

In the Hannaford Prep series, Avery was (initially) the mean girl bully and was extremely protective of her family. This affection frequently translated into mentally & physically destroying others she felt had wronged her/them 🤔 In this book, she was 19, but at the start of HP she was 15, so her character definitely grew through that series.

As all the characters were older in this series I expected to like it more, as they were now adults. I’m nearly a decade over 15, so for me, it was harder to previously relate to the heroine or Avery.

There just seemed to be something missing in the book. It had the mafia/crime backdrop, which I love and they were no longer in school, so they had a lot more independence (to be honest, they had a lot of independence before). Maybe it was the chemistry. When you compare the two series, there was obviously a completely different dynamic, but the relationships in this book lacked a bit of … substance. I don’t know.

The HP series was more focused on ‘puppy love’ and they all seemed more connected because of the familial bond the boys shared. For Avery, the two MMCs are polar opposite ‘gang’ leaders, so there was no unity amongst them. It’s quite a slow burn, so I may have needed to have more patience.

Her relationship with Aodhan begins with a very traumatic experience, which I believe bonds them. This event created a whole new Avery, who was vulnerable and breakable. It was great to see how raw she could be in her inner monologues, as we had never experienced this from her before.

Alternatively, Atticus was reserved and really not a man of many words. Despite the deep history they shared it didn’t translate into this epic, intense relationship. To me, they just didn’t feel comfortable with each other. I wasn’t rooting for a reunion.

It probably wasn’t a great decision to read this straight after the last HF book, as I was comparing them more than I should. I ended up DNFing at 80%.

Regardless of not connecting with this book, I still love J. Bree’s writing ♥️

“Compliments of the Wolf of Mounts Bay. I choose not to kill you on a daily basis. Remember that.”

Avery Beaumont, the Ice Queen, The Queen of the Bay, Floss... whatever you want to call her… She’s a ruthless woman and she will stop at nothing to protect the people she loves. Finally, it’s her turn to find love.

All Hail takes place a few months after the end of Hannaford Prep and while this is the start of a new series, I highly suggest you read Hannaford first or you will be very lost.

This book is told from Avery’s perspective and let me tell you… it is so fun to finally get to be inside her head. We’ve always known that Avery is a fearless leader but actually being inside her head was a really great experience. While Avery is fearless and cunning and fierce, she’s also still a teenager with a lot of past trauma. She has insecurities, she’s a perfectionist and she’s got some serious obsessive-compulsive tendencies. I liked being able to be inside her head and understand her a little better.

Avery is in love with the Crow of Mounts Bay but he wants to lock her away and shield her from the world. She also has formed a deep connection with Aodhan, the Stag of Mounts Bay. While I believe it’s meant to turn into and MFM, it feels more like a love triangle in the beginning because Atticus doesn’t want to share…he also doesn’t act like he wants to keep her either. While we got to learn a lot about Aodhan and see their connection grow stronger, we just continue to see more push and pull from Atticus and I’m really nervous to see how things play out in book 2.

Don’t even get me started on that cliffhanger… J Bree whyyyyyyyy!!!

This review was a book ramble, but if you’re a fan of Hannaford Prep, you’re going to love Avery’s book!! If you haven’t read Hannaford, get on that ASAP and then come back and read All Hail!!!!

I miss Hannaford Avery. After being taken to the Jackals Vault and everything what happen in the Vault she is a changed woman.
I liked the beginning of Avery’s series, but be warned, it ends with a cliffhanger, a bad one. The book kept my attention and I enjoyed reading it.

Summery of All Hail with lots of spoilers.

Okay, so All Hail is a book about Avery Beaumont. Now if you've read J. Bree's other series, Hannaford Prep, you would know that's where you first meet the Ice Queen. You would also know how scary and dangerous she can be. Well, not only her but her brothers and cousins as well. Oh, and let's not forget the Wolf too.

Basically, her entire inner circle is filled with baddies. You don't want to get on their bad side at all. Even though she had a rocky start with Lips, their friendship really bloomed into some dangerous. Beautiful but deadly. So, it's safe to say that I was very excited to jump into her story.

Now her and the Crow were something. Some may call them addicting. Well, I would. The only thing I really wanted was a little summary of what went down in the previous series. It might just be me though because I was a little confused in the beginning. Luckily, things eventually clicked, and I was back in the grove of things.

Avery is definitely a bad ass in her own way. I loved how ballsy she was and never held back. I'm also really excited for her little harem to grow because it just has to. Although, I would be content if she just kept the two men she has already. Just saying.

Other than that, don't be surprised by that cliffhanger creeping its way. It was honestly bound to happen and I'm still trying to wrap my head around it all. I'm shocked and not prepared for the next book but I need it. I have so many questions right now and they are screaming for answers.

What just happened?! You can't leave it like that!!! This book soothed my mounts bay withdrawals, and I loved seeing things from Avery's side of things. Getting to understand her neat freak side and her loyalty shows us that she might not be a crazy assassin like lips, but she's strategic and plays things smart. I cant wait to see where this series goes, and im so happy to be back in the bay!!

All Hail the Queen! 👸👏👸 - author extraordinaire J. Bree!

Been waiting for Avery's story, this did not disappoint. We were shown everything we needed to know about our Queenie. Why she is the way she is. We got to know her on a deeper level, and I for one fell more in love with her character. ❤🖤 She is so badass! I love the evil dictator in her. Was interesting, as well as quite alarming, to see all the new threats that have popped up, and how Avery deals with each one. Not a fan of the villains, obviously but the mystery/thriller vibe is entertaining. A lot of what the fuck now moments keeps the pace moving along great.

Trying to keep this part spoiler free here....
I was heartbroken to learn what happened in The Jackal's lair. It wasn't as bad as I thought in one way, but worse in another because of Avery's feelings on what took place, the guilt she is dealing with. Leaving it at that.

I was pleasantly surprised with Aodhan. Could he be any more perfect??? 🥰 The answer is NO! I was very weary of this development when first heard this would be a MFM story. For three books in Hannaford Prep your rooting for The Crow, so this was a complete 180. But I am so down for this now, if The Crow could just get his head out of his ass. Not holding my breath there, he definitely has his work cut out for him.

So that leads me to the cliffhanger. It was not as bad I was expecting. I have pretty much been put through some shit lately with our evil genius authors and there soul crushing endings. So, while shocking, and a twist I did not see coming, it was bearable. It definitely has left a lot of questions and wtf's going on, with an extreme desire for the next book, but I can deal.... maybe....nope....need it now....right the fuck now!!
Moving on....

So to sum up, completely amazing! 🤩😍🤩 This host of characters and the world they live in is something that cannot be missed. Highly recommend!

Couldn't put it down!!!

You know if you need a book to twist your insides then JBree will surely do that because she gives you the cliffhangers from hell!!

This story picks up straight after Hannaford Prep and it doesn't miss a beat it gives us everything we wanted in a story and JBree adds in all the extras and I find myself like an addict turning then pages to find my next fix.

Avery our queen is in this alone, she's on a mission to find herself, to regain her power as the Queen even though she's recognised as The Queen of Mounts Bay she doesn't feel like it.

Avery is as strong as ever and I love how her relationships develop with the Butcher and Aodhan, i also love how she is finally standing up to Attics at this point the guy needs a slap!! I mean I'm here for that as I'm not against the crow but damn I wasnt expecting that turn of events!!! I mean I am seriously thinking JBree wants to carve my heart out and keep it in bottle as a trophy because at this point she has earned it

Hail to the Queen

I love the world of Mounts Bay. Every twist has me shaken and finally having a book centered around Avery is fantastic. I love the friendship between her and Lips, so it was incredible to read about it from Avery's point of view.

We get a lot of answers about Avery's relationship with the Crow and what happened to her in the final Hannaford Prep book. This woman is stunningly fierce and I love finally getting her inner monologue and seeing how that evil-genius brain really works.

What a delicious return to Mounts Bay- where the knives are sharp and the twists and turns sharper. The Ice Queen, Avery Beaumont, is giving us the world through her eyes- and the Floss we know through the eyes of others has much underneath the surface we haven’t even scratched. The players keep changing, but the MB drama and politics are as dangerous and enigmatic as ever- and now Avery has to hold her own. All Hail is a victorious start to Avery’s story- and like any visit to Mounts Bay, this story left me battered and bruised and hungry for more.

Lips and Avery’s journey has been so intertwined, and it is a tall task of taking a character that is secondary to the romance of another and center the narrative on them. Avery has been a queen from the start, but she’s always been part of LIPS’ story- not the center of her own. But J BREE really brilliantly recenters the narrative. Cleverly ensuring that Lips is a crucial part of Avery’s (because these two are the REAL love story) while also pulling Lips and her men far enough away from All Hail to ensure that the story really can be Avery’s- that we can focus solely on her and her narrative and aren’t distracted by the shiny awesomeness of our OG romance. It is really subtle but artfully done- not only because this serves to ensure Avery is the center, but it also serves as a plot catalyst, a way to force her to deal with some other things (and some other people) without the buffer of her chosen family. Because she is isolated- and that forces her to rely on and connect with people she wouldn’t if she was still in the orbit of her Twelve family. Turns out this is crucial, because much of what we see in All Hail wouldn’t be possible if J Bree hadn’t cleared a path for this story- one that is believable and feels good both to Lips’ narrative as well as Avery’s.

The story did start out slowly for me- but, this is a series opener, so we needed some exposition. I wasn’t quite sure where JB was going to take this- there is a lot going on and a lot that Avery has her hands in, and I still have more questions than answers, but that is par for the Mounts Bay course. But, about 40% in, the story really picked up the pace, in part because once we had all the groundwork laid, we really got to focus in on Avery’s relationships with those around her, as well as her trying to work through the emotional aftermath of everything that happened at the hand of the Jackal. Sure, the business with the Twelve is always interesting, but the psychological journey Avery is on is what really makes this story. This is such a strength of J Bree- she balances the edge of your seat action and the unique Mounts Bay politics and intrigue with gritty, intense, and captivating psychological and emotional journeys. Characters working through trauma, pain, past hurt, lies- the action is really just a backdrop for complex character studies, how her characters grow and evolve as the result of the world around them and the people around them. How they shift from surviving to thriving. And, Avery is still surviving. She is a beautiful character to behold- strong, empowered, loyal, altruistic and courageous. The QUEEN. But she’s also innocent, vulnerable, broken, even scared. She’s a lost girl wearing the mantle of a powerful woman. She has SO much love to give, such a big open heart, and she’s been hurt- by those who should have protected her, by those who should love her. Seeing this side of her in this story is so rewarding, and made me fall even more in love with her. I love how JBree is letting her be different. She’s not The Wolf 2.0- her strengths, her needs, her weaknesses are different, and so, thus, is her journey.

The relational chemistry was so nuanced and engaging- Avery and Aodhan, The Crow, even the Butcher. The STAG stole my whole heart- he’s resilient, loving, protective, and so dreamy. He’s the safety Avery needs, and the bond they share is something only the two of them can understand. But there’s still Atticus- his mixed messages, his suspiciousness, but his clear love for Avery. The connections are not only HOT, but incredibly complicated and fraught with conflicting emotions. The longing and tension just oozed off the page. And, I live for the Butcher and Avery in this- ADORABLE.

Of course, we end on a devastating cliff hanger that I can’t even begin to wrap my brain around. I STILL am not quite sure just where this story is going- what red herrings J Bree has dropped are actual clues vs. what are strategic distractions- and that’s why we love her, right? Always keeping us on our toes, always surprising us. I’m here for it- I don’t know where this train is going, but I’m all aboard. And Avery? She’s most certainly my queen.

Another amazing and lovely master piece by the queen her self. I went into this book with a open mind. I didn't like the crow in the books before so i tried to see him more like how Avery does. But nope. Still don't dont like him. And then there is the stag. There isn't that much about him in the other books, only a little bit at the end of To The End. The stag, i loved instantly. He sees Avery for how she really is and doesn't try to baby her. He knows she can handle a lot because she is a strong and fierce woman. He know she is hes Queen and he will not let anything come in between that. But he also knows and respects Aves feelings for the crow. While Avery is trying to over come a trauma and find her place in the world its not that easy. Now secrets get thown out and there is a new playing trying to make a move.

This book really has everything. And i loved so much that in the end you still have so many questions and new theories and stuff. It really keeps your mind busy till the next book. I know for sure mine will be, i took some time to let it all sink in but now my mind is even more over the place.

I had off the chart hopes for it. Unfortunately I didn’t know this was not a standalone series soon enough so I couldn’t enjoy it to the max. It was like reading from another dimension without really participating in it.
The book was gripping and intriguing but the main lead Queenie was described as a badass but I saw little evidence backing it. Complex world, superb writing and plot.

Dark, mind the triggers.

Started reading this book and was soooo lost. After checking a few other reviews, I'm learning that you need to read the Hannaford Prep series first. This would've been nice to know in the blurb before getting this book. They don't hold your hand through events in the past and throw many charcters at you very quickly without explaining who they are.

I was looking forward to this novel. Because Avery Beaumont is nothing if not interesting. I wanted to know her thoughts and I also wanted to know if she was over Atticus and moving on to Aodhan. I also enjoy J Bree's writing.

Unfortunately, I was disappointed.

For the first 30% of this novel, it felt like a jumbled mess of OCD and trauma. I firmly believe that Avery Beaumont can carry a story without the harem she calls family but I had my doubts there for a minute.

Eventually and sporadically, we got Avery the fixer. I lived for those moments. Her sharp tongue, high-society views and her amazing fashion sense. There was never a dull moment when that Avery came out to play.

I love Aodhan. I think I always have a thing for the Irish. I just wanted more time between them and less time on the politics. Something I never prefer! But they are so good together and I would love nothing more than to see them teach each other about life on their tracks.

As for Atticus? I am not certain what's happening there. I think this is another reverse harem book but the man hasn't even laid his chips on the table and that cliffhanger has left me confused as to where we are going next. Surprisingly, I'm not upset. Because I am hoping, with the break, that the second book will be better.

Thankfully it wasn't kept PG like the Hannaford Prep series in the beginning. Nothing earth-shattering but we got some good sex scenes. The best being a retelling of the Jackal's takedown.

I am invested because I just can't leave the Bay and I have faith in the complete body of work of this author but I can admit that this story needed some work and editing.

Words can’t describe how excited I was when I found out that there was a spin-off series for Avery and Atticus... I’ve never snatched up a book so fast lol I absolutely adore Aodhan I think he completes the story perfectly. I didn’t feel like this series was as well polished as the Hannaford Prep one.. it felt a little rushed and I was hoping for a little more, but in the end, I loved it and I jumped to the second and third books just as fast!

I honestly can't explain how much I loved this new look into the world of Mounts Bay. Queen Avery Beaumont is amazing, strong, fierce, classy and determined to look after her family and rule the world. This book will have you falling in love with this series all over again. The glimpses into the past of these characters we have come to love was so very good and there were definitely tears as I read some of those moments that have come to mean so much to us Mounty fans.
The ending has me desperate to know more and I am totally going to be rereading this series for the millionth time as I try to figure out all of the secrets.

So I'm enjoying Avery's story, but it isn't quite what I expected. I'm definitely team Avery/Atticus over Avery/Aodhan, but I can't say I'm happy with either guy right now. I feel like Aodhan is too busy kissing Avery's ass and Atticus is too busy trying to protect her. Looking forward to Aodhan hopefully growing a pair and Atticus starting to respect Avery and actually listening to her. It was nice to see things from Avery's perspective. Loving Illi, as usual, but missing the Mounty and her guys.

If anyone of you is a Book Freak like me and have read the Hannaford prep series by this author will know that this book is of Avery!! Our beloved Beaumont is here in all her ice queen glory. Avery had me intrigued right from the moment she was mentioned in Hannaford prep. And then when I got to know about her love interest , let's just say It drove me absolutely crazy! Her books have literally been at the top of my most anticipated book list.

Web-Photo-Editor You have my full attention. What are you going to do with it?"

The story revolves mainly around Avery. We had a few other POVs in the book too. Since this was the first book of the trilogy , I feel like 80% of my questions are yet to be answered and after that ending , I have a tons of new questions too. From the way Avery's story has started , I already know that this trilogy is going to be a super hit one and none of us will be alright by the time this author is done with our souls! Avery is the true queen in every sense. The way she behaves and the way her mind works was just damn attractive to me! We got to know her at a much more deeper level in this book and I loved to read the book through her eyes. Everything she felt was displayed in front of me.

Web-Photo-Editor There’s nothing I wouldn’t do to keep us all safe."

J.Bree has once again given us a book full of sass , mystery and so much hotness that it blew my freaking mind! Brilliant and Compelling , ALL HAIL has the full potential to become of my top reads of this year. A definite recommendation to all the dark Romance lovers out there! Since this is the first part of the trilogy, the book ends on a cliffhanger and the story will continue in the upcoming two books.

4.5✨ absolutely devoured this

avery. i loved this girl from the start with hannaford and her absolute world domination and politicking and everything in between. seeing her grow a bit and find her feet and work through some of her trauma was so good and so well done. she retains the same personality but getting to see things and her work and her thoughts from her pov was stunning. she’s a character equally as strong as lips but in a completely different way.

loving the budding relationship between avery and aodhan and finding out what happened with them and why she refused to leave him at the end of the hannaford prep series. and seeing how he feels about her and cares so deeply about her and will protect her at all costs was everything. the sweetness that is aodhan >>>

every single thing about illi is fuel to the fire that is my love for that man omg i adore him. getting to see him this much is absolutely incredible and i didn’t think i could love him more than i already did but hi, i was wrong.

the enemies to lovers second chance vibe with atticus was giving. i love how atticus wants to keep her safe but i hate how he’s going about but i get it and love it cause it’s making the story but also his lines to her just wanting to be friends and normal again and her not hate him and ugh i can’t deal. love. cannot wait to see how that relationship blooms and recovers.

WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT ENDING WHAT THE FUCK
cliff edge 🤝🏼 me
BUT i do not think it’s [redacted].

”Have fun and remember to stab first.”

“I don’t give a fuck who I have to kill for her.”

“If he’s annoying you just lemme know. I’ll skin him for you.”

“I kiss him the way he always does, as if my life is ending and he’s all I need to die with.”

“I went there to help you and if dying for you did that then I’d go to the grave without a fucking complaint. What else do I have to say to you for you to understand that I’m not going anywhere? I’ve watched you march into every fight with your family with your head held high and your little arsenal of tricks and I knew that you’re it for me.”

“There’s always more, Avery. Between us, there will always be more.”

“I’d rather you be alive and hating me than have you and lose you to death.”

• childhood crush / first love
• second chance
• trauma bonding
• plot twist
• organized crime

That ending.
That cliffhanger.
The next book is going to be one of the hardest books to wait for! That was like the ultimate cliffhanger ever!
👑
“Why is everyone I’m surrounded by in love and happy and complete while I’m desperately trying to scrap together the pieces of myself so I can just exist in peace?”
👑
Avery Beaumont is a sad woman. Her inner dialogue to herself would drive anyone into OCD tendencies and anxiety.
Lips and her boys are off on tour for six months.
Avery is left to take the place of Lips in The Twelve.
“My family relies on me. I’m the fixer, I sort out anything that shows up on our doorstep that might risk our safety. I play the political games in the upper society and Lips handles the criminal underworld. There’s nothing I wouldn’t do to keep us all safe.”
👑
While I personally had zero connection with Avery, with her overly cautious cleanliness and stuck up pretentious attitude, she is a badass in her own right.
She’s literally the backbone of her family and detective for finding answers to all who are against them. It’s a page turner to try to get these answers and we do with some things! Like who are all of Lips siblings? And what really happened in Jackals lair in the book To the End?
👑
Ice Queen has made a name for herself in Mounts Bay.
“I’m not giving you up for fucking anything, Queenie. Nothing would make me let you go… but if you want him as well, then I can live with that. I want your heart to be whole, not torn in half.” - Aodhan
I love him. He loves Avery. Their history is so deeply intertwined now and their connection runs deep.
Avery still has feels for Atticus but their relationship is strained.
Despite some comments/review I saw, this is NOT a poly/ménage/MFM book at all.
Don’t get your hopes up in reading about threesomes. 😜
However, this book is amazing. J. Bree has a way of sucking you in and playing mind games with you. It’s fantastic.
5/5

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

J Bree has yet again blown my mind and left me with the biggest book hangover. I just don’t even know what to do with myself right now. J Bree is phenomenal and I for one cannot get enough.

“I glance down and smile at the long lines of my exposed legs. Good. There’s no point going out if you’re not ruining someone’s life.” - Avery Beaumont, All Hail

Oh Avery. Her and Lips are easily 2 of my favourite FMC of all times. This book gave us some of the answers we were wanting after the end of To The End. What she had to go through when the Jackal had her, my heart broke. I’m with Illi, I wanted to to end him all over again.

After seeing her through Lips’ eyes through the Hannaford books, I was so ready to dive into Avery’s mind. I’ve been desperate to see the inner workings behind The Queen and it really didn’t disappoint. But not only did we get Avery we also got other POV’s, WHICH I LOVE! Aaah! This book is the beginning of Avery’s story, after everything in Hannaford she needs to find herself again. Obviously this is Mounts Bay so nothing is ever that simple, there is never a day without a threat and with the majority of The Family gone, the threat is aimed at Avery. But not only does she have The M-fing Butcher with her, she’s got Aodhan.

“He’s fucking breathtaking like this and, though I always knew he was an attractive man, it wasn’t until this moment that it hit me right in the chest.” - Avery Beaumont, All Hail

Ash has always been my number one, but Aodhan. Man Aodhan is now right on up there with him. I’ll take the Stag please 🙋🏻‍♀️

Don’t get me started on Atticus. I’ve already babbled on enough. I can’t talk about him right now.

This book. You need to read this book. As always J Bree, I applaud you. The characters, worlds and stories that you create are just mind blowing and I cannot wait to see what else you are going to bring to us.

I cannot express my love for the Mounts Bay books enough. I will never tire of this world and this family. I’m actually upset I waited so long to read this book.

Avery has been such an interesting character since she was first introduced. She was an evil queen/dictator to being the same dictator as before but with love for her family and now we finally see her through her eyes. She’s constantly plotting and analyzing but doesn’t care for the brutality that everyone around her thrives on. I really adored her in HP but now I’m even more obsessed than I thought possible.

I will say at this point I’m fully on Team Aodhan. Like he may be my new book boyfriend. Atticus better GROVEL to end up with her because compared to Aodhan? There’s no competition in my eyes. I love seeing Illi and his protective nature for her and seeing him more than we did in HP. This family continues to adopt members and I fall in love with every single one of them.

That cliffhanger was indeed rude and I’m so ready to start the next book. Avery has a lot of healing to do and I’m excited for her journey. She deserves the world and I’m thrilled to watch her take it.

10 freaking stars!!!!! OMG this book... this book.... THIS BOOK!!!! I thought the J Bree's writing, storytelling, and imagination couldn't get any better than Angel Unseen but (Oh boy!) I was wrooong. Honestly, the Mounts Bay saga keeps getting better and better. All the details, easter eggs that connect all books is mindblowing. This books has a little bit of everything and, in all honesty, I was not able to predict a thing!

I'm a KU member and a book has to strike me right in the chest for me to click "Buy". I rerely do rereads but the entire saga will be on my reread list.

Reader Note: After reading the first Hannaford Prep book I was pretty sure nothing could make me like Avery but she’s become one of my favorite characters. Technically, this is a new series but without having read Hannaford Prep first I think you’re really missing out on a lot of important backstory and details. I don’t think you can fully appreciate this series without having read that one.

"I don't want a man who will give me up the second things get hard."

Ohmyword.
I've been waiting for Avery's series. Obviously I'm team boss babe, and she's the queen of it all.
Best friends with Lips, the apple of Atticus's eye.
I thought I was ready for the start of her series; but oh was I so wrong.
Nothing like I expected and that's what made it so perfect.

When the crew left for the tour, Avery staying behind, it was tough for me to read.
We know that she needs the time to really put herself back together after her show off with the Jackal (hope he's enjoying his time with the devil). It's proof of their bond as a family that it was so hard for her to watch them drive away.
But, I was happy to see that she chose herself. Chose healing.

Avery. Aohdan. Atticus.-- are you ready for them?
The plot wove itself throughout the book, little breadcrumbs were laid and we were left reeling at the end. The theories spinning in my head will live there rent free.
And I can't say that I'm angry about it.
If anything, I'm even more excited to read the rest of the series.
She's the Queen of Mounts bay and it's time for her to live up to that title.
With the Stag at her side. The Crow in the background. And the Butcher at her back.
There's nothing this Queen in white cannot do-- no goal she will not achieve.
Just the way her mind works, fifteen steps ahead of the world is amazing. I love nothing more than watching the game of chess she's started.

I refuse to give spoilers. Because you just need to read her book; soak it all in.
It's a masterpiece and should be appreciated as one.
All the blood soaked stars to J.Bree, she deserves them.
