Can’t fake that kind of passion
This story is about Marjorie and Blake. Marjorie had been in a whirlwind romance with Robert and they quickly got married. She wanted a baby but it never happened, and they just drifted apart, as he started seeing someone else. My heart was breaking for her. He was so callous, insensitive and selfish.
Now she was alone, as she packed up her previous life into boxes. She was going to swear off men after seeing and experiencing so much heart-break at their hands – Robert, her own father, and her first love, Blake. Her friends (and employees at her store ‘Threads’) Terri and Stephanie were there to support her, and move her stuff to her new studio apartment across town.
Blake is a fertility doctor, and a workaholic at the clinic he partners with his best friend Jason. Since Jason got married he’s wondering if he too needs someone in his life. After work he heads over to Club Connelly to blow off some steam, and hooks up with another random woman, just for an escape.
Despite the way her last relationship ended, Marjorie is still very much wanting to have a family – to be a wife and a mother. She wants to fill that empty void in her life. Terri off-handedly suggested she could use a sperm bank to make that dream come true. It was something she may just consider.
She finally decided to take that leap and visit a fertility clinic, to at least get some information so she could make an informed decision. And just who happens to be her doctor? Blake, her first and one true love from high school. They have a hurtful history, but he now has the opportunity to make her dreams of motherhood come true.
They both reflect back on their life and time back in Redwood Cove. They’d been in love, but from two very different families. As Blake reminisced over their time together, the truth as to why he left her so suddenly was revealed. And I was absolutely APALLED! Marjorie would be FURIOUS if and when she ever found out.
There are so many ups and downs, dramas and surprises (both good and bad), sizzling-hot chemistry, deep-seated love, and steamy passion. You’ll find yourself sighing and swearing and swooning over their heartbreaking and heartwarming moments. With everything they have had to go through, both individually AND together, they so obviously are just meant to BE!
Do yourself a favour and read this second-chance romance story. I give this wonderful book four and a half nostalgic stars. And I cannot wait to read more form this author!

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the second chance romance between Blake and Marjorie. Marjorie is recently divorced and decides she wants a family, so she goes to a fertility doctor to see if everything is okay for her to get pregnant, because she tried for years with her ex husband. Blake is a fertility doctor and a playboy, he never wanted to settle down because he never got over his high school girlfriend. When Marjorie sees Blake, she is shocked and wonders why he left her years before without an explanation. Blake had his reasons for leaving and if he sees Marjorie again, he could lose everything, but he is drawn to her and wants to be with her. Marjorie is still in love with Blake and wants to be with him, but she also wants answers as to why he broke her heart. I really enjoyed this book. I liked Blake, he only tried to do the right thing and he really regretted hurting Marjorie. I think they were great together. This was a good second chance romance.

This book shows you not to judge people just because they are not rich or how poor they are. Some people are not afraid of putting in hard work early because they know what they want to become. It also shows how some people can be mean but breaking up relationships, if the relationship is not going to work out then let it work its self out. Some people are lucky to find their true love early and some take a little while longer.

This novel had a lot of good moments, a lot of sweet moments; BUT it also had lot of just okay moments that really didn't bring the same warm smile to my face as the other moments had. However, even though there were times when it would lull and I would begin to ponder about choosing another novel, something would grab my attention again- just enough to reel me back in to stick by the side of this author. In the end, though, I'm glad I finished reading this novel.

Echt wieder sehr nett für zwischendurch. Liebe überdauert alles, das zeigt das Buch wieder sehr gut. Marjorie entflieht ihrem Mann und trifft auf ihr Vergangenheit. Blake ihre Jugendliebe soll ihr ein Kind einpflanzen... Das grosse Geheimnis von damals hängt zwischen ihnen, und wird Stückchenweise gelüftet.

I have not read a bad book from this author yet and this book is no exception! The great plot and character development kept me so engaged throughout the entire book that I had a very hard time putting this book down until the very last page was turned!

Not sure what made this book so unreadable for me. Just the storyline seemed to fade into the endless internal ramblings of the characters. Not that interesting of prose. Just didn’t make it for me. Had to skim to even attempt to get through this one.

In dem Buch geht es um Marjorie und Blake. Beide haben eine gemeinsame Vergangenheit und treffen sie nach vielen Jahren wieder. Ich werde hier nichts zum Inhalt sagen.

Ich habe viel Spaß gehabt dieses Buch zu lesen. Das Buch hat einen wunderbaren Schreibstil.
Das Cover ist einfach toll und der Klappentext hat mich sofort neugierig gemacht.
Die beiden Hauptcharaktere sind einfach toll. Ich habe viel mit beiden Hauptcharakteren gelitten und gehofft. Das Buch hat alles, was man sich wünscht. Ich kann das Buch nur weiterempfehlen. ♥️

Jamais déçue de ces petites histoires.
C’est simple, mignon, sans prise de tête et rapide à lire.
Marjorie, vraiment adorable, pas de chance avec les hommes de sa vie mais elle essaye de s’en sortir seule mais c’était sans compter le grand retour de Blake.
Blake est plutôt cool aussi, je comprend pas tous ses choix passé et de pas avoir suivit l’affaire qui aurait pu régler le problème plus tôt mais sinon on voit vraiment son attachement envers Marjorie.
La relation est vraiment mignonne, ils ont chacun grandit et évoluer pour maintenant être dans une bonne relation.

Linda historia pero terriblemente traducida, por momentos tuve que hacer esfuerzos para entender porque en casi toda la novela el traductor usaba el femenino cuando hablaba Blake.. es imperdonable. Me gustan las historias de Mia Faye y nunca leí una con tantos errores de este tipo. Si los terribles modismos cómo “a por ti” lo correcto es directamente “ por ti”. Pero no logro leer una traducción que no lo tenga, aunque es molesto.
Seguiré leyendo de la autora pero resta mucho.

Una historia que nos cuenta la vida de Marjorie despues de su divorcio, cómo trata de reconducir su vida nuevamente y cómo se reencuentra con un amor del pasado Blake, lo que descubre es que aún las viejas heridas no han sanado y el amor que creia olvidado sigue igual o más latente que nunca.
