This is an excellent collection of stories, which are somehow magical, whimsical, and serious at the same time. The first story is my favorite. In this one, a woman named Siobhan, who is working on resolving personal issues along with investigating accounts of the faerie world. In another story, a ghost delivers an important message. I recommend this collection highly.

Delightful! Here’s a wonderful volume of short stories to make you laugh, to make you smile, but most of all to make you look beyond yourself. While these stories are firmly set in this world and its problems and issues, there are several tales that include bits of tantalizing fantasy and ghosts that speak from the heart.

Daley Downing gives us full narratives, such as “Me and You” that describes a young woman’s need for closure and understanding. And along the way, we find remarkable moments of clarity that ring true regardless of time and place. Who doesn’t know the crushing weight of guilt or the uplifting rush of friendship?

In “Primitive,” Daley introduces us to the lone individual who copes with loss, as he maintains a career of discipline and self-control. It is a study of the all too human ability to compartmentalize not out of meanness or cruelty but out of necessity. In story after story, we meet characters who remind us of ourselves and our constant need for affection, friendship, and love. The fact that the singular letters of the title spell out I'M, which is to say I AM, is relevant.

I IS FOR INVISIBLE, M IS FOR MOTH is a book that is perfect for summer reading!
