Got to see heaven!!
Oh no no, I am still very much alive, thank you,😂 and I am pretty sure I will be going to hell to have an affair with Lucifer if/when I die lol. I got to have a gooood look at what heaven would look like in this book of the series. As you would know from reading the previous book, Syd and the guys ascend to heaven to free Oz and oh boy, is it full of complications. Yes, it's cloudy and beautiful and shitting unicorns and rainbows but that's not it at all. There's politics, lustful attacks, mysteries and a war with demons which results in a blood-covered, sexy looking Oz eating a heart. *Swoooonnn*
Syd finds out that Victor has her in his sights for a nefarious plan and we also see Grazi, our lovely truth guardian, getting a harem of her own. Syd finds her fourth and last champion in Cayden. But! Why is Cayden resisting her? Will he ever become one of her champions? What does Victor have in mind and where will this evil lead Syd and the harem?
Also, this book entails a journey to Jerusalem which was interesting to say the least when you combine four hot as angel warriors, a demon and dark mystery along with a news team.. (Trying to be vague here, people).
This one is much steamier than the last book and I loveeee Gage in this book. However, there wasn't much development to Camden and Syd. I felt like there wasn't romance there, instead Syd just wanted him for his body and to gain all her powers.

Guys Rochelle brought her A game for this book! She turned up the mystery and the STEAM!🥵
This book was a great second instalment to the series, we learnt more about the book universe and the alternative history that C. Rochelle introduces us to in the first book. I love the authors take on Angles and Demons it’s refreshing and engaging, she never fails to keep me interested and on my toes! There is a lot more information that needs to be taken in with this book surrounding the alternative history which only adds to mystery of discovering Syd’s origins.
In this book we see Syd and her men face new challenges as well as watching Syd uncover new things about her past and heritage which leads the group to more questions than answers. However this quest for information is intriguing and engaging, leaving you wanting more!
This book was amazing and I loved seeing Syd becoming the badass she’s meant to be! I love the friendships she makes along the way, It lets us see another side to her that we might not see if she didn’t make friends outside of her harem of men!
Im really excited for what the next book might bring and how Syd will face her new challenges and how her men will reassemble and hopefully unite together to face their own challenges.

This series has become my new favorite series.
I absolutely loved Shadows Spark, and Smolder absolutely delivered as an amazing second installment. Theres a lot going on in this book- and we get to take a deeper dive into the Champions hearts, and innermost thoughts and desires, as well as their fears. I still absolutely love Gage and Oz the most, but I also really liked seeing Oz and Cay and their dynamic together.
I'm hooked. I can't wait to see what happens in Shadows Scorch. That cliffhanger was brutal! I need to see what happens next!!!

Wow! This book was fantastic! Shadows Smolder is the second book in this series, and everything has ramped up from the first book!
The writing was very good, the characters well developed. I was truly hooked throughout! With plenty of laugh out load dialogue, very hot and steamy scenes, plenty of action and intrigue...it kept me glued to my chair and turning those pages. Beware the cliffhanger at the end...I can't wait for the next book!

This installment of Syd and her champions was on fire. What a perfect blend of slow burn anticipation and all of the sexy stuff you hope for. This is the second book in the series, and the way each of the characters evolved was so amazing to watch. Watch out, there's a certain demon that will steal your ❤️. A sexy adventure about trust, growth and self discovery.

Ok I loved this book. It’s the second in the series and I can’t wait for the next one! I’m a sucker for angels and demons, and I love a special snowflake main character with mysterious unknown importance. That + reverse harem and heat and this was sooo fun.
I liked the main character a lot. She wasn’t annoying or weak or unrealistically strong - she just seemed like a normal person, all things considered. I’m in love with Oz and the other guys are 🔥 too.
This was a great continuation to the series with a crazy reveal and cliffhanger at the end. Highly recommend!

Intrigued
I am enjoying the series. It is a unique take on heaven and hell which I always appreciate. My biggest complaint is the lack of lube, which seems silly but I find it very distracting. I will be getting the next book to see how the story ends.

This book was so, so good! The way everything unfolded was absolutely perfect. I can't wait to get into the next book. I am very interested to see what happens next. I was very excited to see more of Cayden I think he maybe my favorite! lol

If book 1 made me blush, this book had me fanning myself and looking over my shoulder and I LOVED IT. (Spoiler… book 3 is even hotter). This series is at the top of my 18+ Reverse Harem list and I will recommend this to any of my spicy reader friends.
Syd is slowly piecing together her origin story all while “fueling up” with her boys, being followed by a tiny but fierce reporter named Kim, dodging and not dodging the asshole Victor, and questioning the motives of heaven.
Shadows Smolder brought such awesome growth in the relationship between Syd and her champions. Here are the boys as a reminder… Brian the part-time counselor and sexy scientist, Oz the big softy, Gage the broody demon, and finally Cay… massive… heart, yep that.
You will not be ok after reading the 2nd book in this brilliant and spicy series. Yes, you will be wet and entertained but the cliffhanger will have you throwing your kindle and your love for C. Rochelle will help pick up the pieces while you immediately get the next one.

Book one left me with a lot of questions. Book two answered most but left me with even more questions than I originally had! This was such a great read. There’s so much going on I don’t even know who the bad guys are and who the good guys are. Angels and demons are being used a pawns… Our Champions we’re getting along and had an amazing dynamic but are being played against each other now. It’s too much. Syd is gaining new powers left and right. She does some pretty badass shit in this book that I don’t even know how she knew to do. Is the villain really the villain? What the hell was that cliff?!!!!! COME ON! Downloading book three right now!

Oh God, this book was like a roller coaster!!! I don't even know where to start! Well, first of all: Cay, OMG Cay, where can I get me one like him Finally he is hers and I love it! Then: Oz, I am mad at him even though I know he is just tortured and suffering but c'mon man!! Should I talk about love scenes? scorching hot. Action? unstoppable, Cliff hangers? oh sweet jesus, what a way to end this one!!! Girl, I know this one is not even out yet but I sooooooooooooooo need book 3, I will die without it!! Oh did I talk about Victor... A redeemable bad guy? He has his areas of gray and black and light but.... Hate his guts, he is making my Oz suffer and and pretty little demon too. Ps, check that Syd sandwich!!

Shadows Smolder is the 2nd book in the Wings of Darkness + Light. Syd had a major glo-up from the last book. She went from not knowing who she was and where she fit in to a kick ass boss. While she learned how to use her new powers, She learns more about her origins. The war between heaven and hell is not just black and white. There are other sinister motives involved, key players who have an agenda.
I was sooo glad that Cay was finally given more of a spotlight. I really loved him in the first one and was not disappointed. I am not okay after that cliffhanger 😱. Can't wait to see what happens next.

This review covers the whole trilogy.
Heard about this author and books on Book-Tok. I enjoyed this trilogy very much. There is a solid plot with a storyline that moves easily throughout each book and doesn’t lag. Good humor and very nice steamy scenes. Nice to find an author that writes well and gives good smut. 🤣
Warnings or Encouragements! Standard things...
Reverse Harem, book 1 is a medium-burn with 3 guys, a 4th added in book 2.
For people that like to be warned off of or maybe looking for 😉 there is M/M towards the end of book 2 and continuing in book 3.
Enjoyable heroine with well balanced badass and squishy center.
All 4 Hero’s are developed well with distinct personalities. Nice balance of Alpha’s & Betas, funny & sexy.
Angels, Demons, Humans...and a Goddess, OH MY! I found it fun and interesting the way the author plays with history and religion. I love history, and know quite a LOT about academic & religious history. Kudos to this author for her knowledge and/or research.
Things I would have liked added:
More group steamy scenes, like the whole group. Epilogue had one kinda. The pre-final battle power up could have been an epic one!
I was hoping they would find a way to reverse the Angel’s family “problem”.
Very much looking forward to the authors next series!

I didn't think it was possible, but C. Rochelle turned the heat up to a ROARING fire in Shadows Smolder!! There is so much passion and smexiness between Syd and her Champions, including Cay (finally!!!), that I was either blushing or trying to slow down my racing heart for a lot of this book.
Grazielle has a very big part in Shadows Smolder and I'm so completely in love with her and her development throughout the story. She and Syd as well as a new character really kick it in high gear with the girley vibes.
And don't forget the spin on if angels and demons walked among us. C. Rochelle has me questioning everything I learned from growing up in the church and I absolutely LOVE it!!! The wheels in my brain keep turning with all the possibilities of what if??

This intelligently written, awe inspiring, instalment of the Wings of Darkness and Light series by C Rochelle is un-put-down-able!
I love Syd's strength and her champion's desire to keep her safe. The interplay of each individual relationship builds the solidity of the whole group and together they are far stronger than alone. It is fantastic to see a once insecure character come into her own in this book, taking no crap from anyone and asserting her right to defend herself, yet not diminishing her companions' strengths in any way.
This story made me gasp, laugh out loud in public, cry and say damned unkind things about the author! How could she? Grrrr...

Shadow Smolder is the second book of the Wings of Darkness + Light series.

We pick up exactly as we left off in Shadows Spark, with Syd, Gage and Brian setting off on a rescue mission. The more information they learn, the more apparent the need for Dark Mercy and her Champions to make an appearance. But things still aren't adding up and they don't have all the information yet. Heaven and Hell are afraid of her and what she represents, yet they are provoking her to see what she can do. They want her to pick a side.

Syd keeps evolving with every encounter with her men, including her final addition. The sex in this book is hotter than hell! But she isn't prepared for the information that she receives from a man she has a connection to, but despises. The actions that transpire, well, you are not ready for the cliffhanger on this book. This continues on from the last book's cliffhanger, and as expected, this one also ends in a cliffhanger. When will the next book come out is the real question here.
One of the things I was looking forward to in this book was some threesomes, which weren't in the first book (sadly) and this book delivers. And they were really hot, so be prepared for those.
One thing I wasn't expecting is the number of plot twists and level of suspense. I'm actually really curious as to how it will all play out. The person who I thought was evil is now someone our MC listens to?? (Is it bad that I actually want the evil guy to turn good and they all live happily ever after?)
I would've preferred more details about the world they live in - like do they still have countries and governments or does the highest authority rule? And who is the highest authority? Even though it doesn't seem as important to the plot, it would help to understand a bit more about the world they live in.
As for the ending, it was definitely unexpected - I thought there would be more but now I have to accept that that's how the book ends. I really hope the new book comes out soon.

Absolutely amazing! I love Syd and her men, even beginning to like Victor. It’s crazy how much Syd’s powers have unlocked being with her men even though she is always in the dark. The Cliffhanger is harsh but i think it was needed. I can not wait to see what happens between Syd and victor in the Shadows scorched.

Second Book - Excellent
Great continuation to the series. I loved the addition of Cayden to what I'm going to call "Syd's Holy Hellacious Harem." The plot thickens as Victor is portrayed as increasingly helpful to Syd. And that ending... oh what a cliffhanger. I can't wait until the next book.

Holy Crackers! This series just keeps getting better! The characters got even better and the story drew me in and made me want more! If you are looking for an amazing read look no further!

There were things I could wholly predict coming in this book and then there were things that happened where I was completely blindsided. It’s always great when an author can throw you off course and take you somewhere unexpected in the story. I really enjoyed this sequel to Shadows Spark and I’m excited for the next book in this series.

Good so far
Well I can't say I'm happy with Syd's character. She's like the stupid girl in ghost movies going alone to check what the weird noise is. I mean come on she knew what Victor is, yet she still trusted him on no real basis whatsoever and she's shocked now when he shows his true colors? She even betrayed her Champions by secretly meeting with him. I mean Come On! She even had that future premonition thingy where she saw herself bleeding and Victor with the Scion. What more proof does she need? Stupid Stupid Stupid!!!
Also this book dragged a bit for me in the middle. Still interesting though! Let's see what happens next.

This book was wow. From the moment that I started reading this I was hooked and there was no putting it down no matter what. It moves along at a great pace which was neither too fast nor too slow. The characters are amazing and no matter what they need to do you want to see them succeed. This book is a must read and needs to be on your TBR list, no doubt about it.

The second book in this really amazing series. I just could not get enough of these characters whatsoever. The author sure knows how to keep me hooked from the start and now I can not wait for the next book because I definitely need more of them.
