Yikes, where to start. For one, the drunk one night stand at the beginning was very off-putting. The female lead was obviously smashed beyond consent (being too drunk to even manage stairs) while the male lead was not, but despite a token refusal that she was too drunk, he went through with it which doesn't really indicate strength of character on his part. But honestly, what annoyed me the most was that the main character was supposed to be a badass bounty hunter, and that's never shown in the book. Instead, about 30% into the story, she turns into a doormat after she finds out . After that it's all . No thanks.

So, I was not sure I was going to enjoy it as I had just read a book by Leia Stone I did not like. But I pre-ordered and the blurb looked fun and promising so I thought 'why not'? This morning it appeared on my Kindle and I read it in a couple of hours.
Evie is a fun heroine. I immediately liked her and her BFF Cass (the imp). After her grandmother dies she has a drunk one-night-stand and is infuriated to find she has slept with Brock, the alpha of the (were)wolf pack that wants to demolish her grandmother's house. She herself is a dud witch (no powers...) but soon she discovers she is anything but a dud!
The book is easy to read with a variety of characters. I also liked the romance brewing between Evie and Brock and how they interacted with each other (sexy times!). It ends on a small cliffhanger to tie us over to book 2 as the story continues with regard to Evie's destiny and her past.

I'm carrying on with this, though I'm not really sure why ... the heroine has the inner narrative - and common sense - of a 10 year old girl. I think I just like the kitsune element. But I can't imagine I'll make it more than 1 book further if she doesn't develop some spine. I loathe stories where the supposed tough girl is a fainting doormat that allows the tough guy to make all the decisions and manage her life.
Furthermore, this story is all happening way too fast - it's unbelievable, and hard to feel invested. It's not exactly fated mates, but it's sure playing out that way.

Well this was an incredible shit show.
I'm at chapter 9 and it still feels like the first introductory pages.
I started reading this because it seemed suspiciously like a copy of Magic Bites by Ilona Andrews with a STARTLINGLY SIMILAR TITLE; front cover with a kickass heroine wielding a sword who is a pseudo investigator that boinks alpha shapeshifters. Fear not because Leia Stone is not even close to Ilona in terms of quality, plot writing and overall making sense with the words that she typy-typies.

RIGHT GET READY FOR *SPOILERS* Because nothing really happens for 9 chapters. Well stuff happens but stuff as in a nonsensical series of events. We get to know that the main character, Evie, is a dud witch but not really because she's secretly magically amazing and rare and unique like the rest of Leia Stone's main characters.
The dialogue is often long-winded and filled with unnecessary fuss. She tries to write how normal people might talk but if you spoke any of it out loud it would immediately be fucking weird. Like if you were to put Alexa and Siri in the same room and got them talking.
Now I'm not a prude. I love smut. But this... This was too crass. I liked the drunken one-night-stand introduction to the main characters but then they're instantly pitted at each-other. At some point Evie loses weight for some unforeseeable reason and becomes all skinny and skeletal like she's dying and the main alpha werewolf dude Brock has to catch her from falling and gets an instant boner from the contact.
AND DON'T GET ME STARTED ON HER PINK SEX DEMON. WHAAATTTTTTTT.
I kept imagining Danny Devito in a pink onesie. Close enough.

La historia es divertida y dinámica, siempre está pasando algo.
Me encantó la introducción del Folklore japonés, del cual no sé nada, pero pienso hacer uso de google en cuanto acabe esta reseña. 😬
En lo que al romance se refiere, hay sucesos cuestionables, pero como es un libro de fantasía, los dejaré pasar sin criticarlos jajajaja

I love Evie. She’s so tough and snarky. Evie returns home after her Gran dies. Evie then meets Brock, little does she know he’s the alpha werewolf she’s fussing with. And he is going to drastically change her life. Action, suspense, romance and evil
Supernaturals galore.

TLDR review: I. LOVED. THIS. BOOK! Literally everything about it. I throughly enjoyed this book.
Warning my review might have minor spoilers!
Pros:
- The book starts with a bang 😉
- Brock: Normally shifter love interests are way too protective and overbearing for my tastes but Brock is just perfect! He voices his opinion but never forced or tricks Evie into doing what he wants! He respects her even when he doesn’t agree with her! You can tell he cares for her without being a controlling asshole.
- I really like that Evie is of Japanese descent. I read a lot of books in this genre and a lot of the female main characters are usually white.
- Evie and Cass have a great relationship.
- I also really like Molly and what she adds to the group. It’s nice to have a human character who isn’t a drain on the group.
Cons:
- I really don’t like the cover. If you’re not sure you want to read the book because of the cover ignore it. I know we’re not supposed to judge a book by its cover but most of us do.

Fun start
Magic Bite is a fun start to the Supernatural Bounty Hunter series. Evie is a kicka$$ bounty hunter and Cass is her wisea$$ sidekick. Add in a sexy werewolf and you’ve got a fun combo! Looking forward to more in this series.

I lost the will to keep reading. Why? meh, it was the whole enchilada. I wasn't enjoying the storyline, nothing much of anything seemed to be happening, the characters - none of whom were particularly likeable. Don't care, and this book can't make me.

2 1/2 stars. There's a lot going for this book. I love the characters and their relationships with one another. Cass is so great: a pink furred imp who loves sequins and sparkles and still is a success with the fae ladies and an attitude to match. Evie, a supernatural bounty "human" hunter--and others who are clearly human--are some of the most successful ones out there. Yes, they use spells, tricks and mechanical devices but that is what humans do well. Humans have gotten to were they are in this world because of the ability to think and use tools. It is how we succeed. Though I also love the idea of what Evie is and how that develops. But for some reason, I couldn't really connect with her.
Brock seems to be the typical alpha shifter. Then he turns out to be more reasonable and willing to compromise than most when he finds out that Evie is pregnant. Yes, he wants to protect her and wishes she wasn't a in dangerous job but I don't think that is completely unreasonable. She has every right to go out and do her job but some extra precautions are called for.
One think that made me a little squish: the drunken one night-stand. I'm not the moral police. I don't care if a character or anyone else is having a one-night stand. But in this day and age drunken one-night stands (it seems to me that both characters are drunk in the beginning of this story) where consent is a hot topic, where a character is saying yes (and indeed the word yes is clearly expressed) needs to handled carefully. I think some people will have issues with this. It just makes me think and examine the event far too carefully for when I want to read something fast-paced and light.
I also wish there had been less of a cliff-hanger for an end. So, some problems but overall I like where this is going.

This book was such fun. After you get past the sudden one night stand that opened the book, it's hilarious, strange, outlandish, and thrills from there. Surprises, humor, sweet bonds, a weird imp companion that keeps the laughs coming, an eager human apprentice - definitely will be continuing with the series.

This book has a lot of things I liked. It has some interesting supporting characters that grow and evolve in their own right. The world is a little flat; but, mimics our world in a lot of ways so it isn't that important to build it. I really liked Evie and I keep being pleasantly surprised by her and things that go on around her.

We are told the FMC is badass but halfway through there aren't any scenes showing it. Plus for someone who has experience and no major powers (that she is aware of) she makes terrible, TSTL decisions. For example, it is the night of the full moon and she was told not to go out because there are several untrained werewolves. She is attempting to find a super dangerous siren that has been spotted in the area. This is a siren she had captured but had escaped and probably wants revenge.After getting a lead she leaves her home to look for the siren. When she comes back home, the place which is part of werewolf territory, with a dangerous siren on the lose who possibly wants revenge, this experienced bounty hunter leaves her gun in the car. Now, I have never been a supernatural bounty hunter (haha) but I have read about a lot of them and even those with strong magical powers do not go anywhere unarmed especially if they have two known potential threats. The romance couldn't even save this because they jumped right into it without building the relationship or tension. This one is a miss for me.

This book was a lot of fun. I was excited to see that the main character was part Asian like me. Cass is hilarious. The fact that he is a hot pink imp in booty shorts... loved it. Brock was a sexy, dominate, alpha male and genuinely seemed like a good guy. There were a few twists I did not see coming at all so I was happy that it caught me off gaurd. I am also curious to see how Brock and Evie handle this situation in the next book. Oh and that ending... cliffhanger. But a good one.
I actually had the pleasure of listening to the audio book and loved it. The narrator had the perfect witty and sarcastic tone for Evie and I just laughed anytime she read Cass's lines.
Recommend to anyone who is a Paranormal Romance reader that loves wolves but looking for some fun and original twists!

This book is co-written by both Leia Stone and Lucia Ashta.
I’ve read several books by Leia. This is my first reading one by Lucia.
I must say that I have mixed feelings about this book.
The first would be how Evie and Brock hook up.
I’m not going to go into detail because then I will just have this review with spoilers.
What I did enjoy about this book is the kitsune element. That looks like it is a fun twist since Evie was thought to be a dud. She has a side kick who is a pink imp and at times he can be hilarious but other times *cringe*. Lol While I don’t hate the book there are some elements that I do love. I’m looking forward to see Evie’s character continue to develop.
I will pick up the following book to see what happens as this one ended in a cliffhanger. Thankfully the next two books are already out.

Great start
This was so interesting. There is so much going on but in a good way. You've got Eve who just lost her grandma and decides she needs to forget everything, most especially her never sleep w a werewolf rule. Bam she's had the most amazing sex of her life only to discover said giver of mind altering sex, is set to demolish grandma's house. And that's not even the half of it. Vampires, Werewolves, Witches and Demon Imps, this books got em. So in the midst of trying to settle grandma's estate, she has to catch a siren, and deal w extremely life changing ish. Only gripe is that when the book starts to finally get to the juicy part, it ends on a cliffhanger. You are left with a lot of questions that I hope get answered in the next book.

Evie is a supernatural bounty hunter. Evie's best friend and partner is a pink demon imp. Evie and her BFF, Cass, are very good at her job. When Evie and Cass go to her grandmother's cottage to try to save it from the love werewolf alpha, they not only find out one of there bounties escaped, but they get way more then they bargained for with gram's cottage.
Evie's animal is unusual. The story is original in the idea of a shifter NOT knowing what she is, how she finds out, the whole situation with Evie is pretty original. The story is well written, entertaining, has great characters, excellent plot, love the originality.

Pretty cool I’m here for it.
I wasn’t sure how this one was going to play out but I really enjoyed this book. Evie is fun and quirky and her BFF Cass is adorably hysterical and gross at the same time. I love her friends. I’m really enjoying the story here, and the sight mystery surrounding what Evie finds out about herself.
I was a bit surprised by the pregnancy though. I didn’t expect that to happen which is cool when you don’t expect things. I’m excited to see where this story takes us and if Brock is going to claim her as a mate. No one has said anything about mates, so maybe it’s not a thing here. But I hope so.

Not a bad book. Didn't go where I expected it to, which was fun. Wouldn't have minded more detail on the world building. Fast paced. Funny. Decent action/fight scenes. Good romance, though it seemed a bit insta-lovey to me. Interesting magic. Again, I wish there were more detail. I'll likely read book two. 3.5 stars.

I love the story. The characters are fully fleshed out, and it feels like it's happening here and now, in our world. Even though there is a pink demon. And magic. With werewolves. I absolutely cannot wait until the next book releases!!!

Well damn, Magic Bite with have you aching for more from page one. It’s steamy, hilarious, exciting and downright fabulous, as it follows Evie Black and her imp best friend and supernatural bounty hunter partner - Cass, as they return to her home town after her grans dies.
The Supernatural Bounty Hunter series is brilliantly co-written by Leia Stone and Lucía Ashta. I highly recommend the first book in this new series, and I can’t wait to read the next book - Magic Sight.
