Double-Double Demon Trouble

Rate this book
Everything they know is about to explode.

Dexx finally has Paige back, and just in time to bring two amazing balls of world-wrecking joy into this world. But as he and Paige settle in to prepare to finally see their unborn babes—twins, if you can believe it. Yeah. Dexx did that—their world starts to unravel around them.

Two bodies drop. Both with hidden messages just for Paige.

It’s Sven Seven-Tails. He’s back and more powerful than ever before. The last time Dexx and Paige fought him, they’d lost and barely left with their lives. Now?
Well, they’re alone this time. They’ve got the backing of Dexx’s pack and the entire Whiskey witch clan, so they should have a fighting chance.
Right?
They’d damned well better.
This is the beginning of a Whiskey-verse Crossover Event! This event is so big, it’ll take three books and a whole slew of characters to get to the bottom of it. Don’t miss a single chapter. You will regret it!

Seven-Tails Miniseries Event:
F. J. Wolfram, Double-Double Demon Trouble #1 - While I'm familiar with Whiskey Witches by S. M. Blooding, I haven't read anything by this author. This book picks up the day after Whiskey on the Rocks ends, which I haven't read. Since I only had read the first two Whiskey books, I wasn't sure if I would be lost reading with such a large gap in the WW world. No problem, I understood the parts that referred back to the first two WW books and didn't need to worry about the other references. I didn't get lost, but got immersed in another good WW book.

Double is well written, fast paced and with plenty of action. I still like the original characters I knew as well as the new to me characters that have joined the WW world. They were believable and their dialog realistic. Alma is my favorite strong female, with Paige close behind. The humor, the storylines and intriguing plot make it hard to put down the book. The language isn't as heavily vulgar as in the first book I read. I contacted Ms. Blooding to review her books. 5*

Whiskey Witches:
S M Blooding, The Demon Whiskey - Has an overview, which I appreciate knowing what the book is about before reading it. Although I was disappointed with the last part of Whiskey Witches, I decided to read TDW, which I had received as an ARC. This book can be read after or before WW, without any spoilers. Well written, with realistic dialog and an interesting plot. By realistic, I don't mean vulgar language, since nowadays that's considered the real way to talk. This book is heavy with vulgar language, which I found distracting in both books, and caused me to start skimming after a few chapters. But at least the English out weight the profanity. The author and I butted heads, and while we agreed to disagree, we found we had similar backgrounds. I found Blooding a nice and funny lady through our emails. Minor editing needed. I contacted the author to review her books after reading Whiskey Witches.

S M Blooding, Whiskey Witches - Intense. This well written, interesting story hits the floor running and doesn't stop until the last quarter of the story. The characters are believable and the twisting plot keeps the reader immersed in reading until the last 25%. The book then got boring and silly in places. Unfortunately, WW is heavy with vulgar language, which distracted me in places. I do credit the author with some restraint, since there could have been more profanity. Minor editing needed. This is my first book by this author and I will be reading The Demon Whiskey.

Shhhh! I’m going to let you in on a secret: SM Blooding, Hattie Hunt and F.J. Wolfram are all either Ms Blooding or in the case of “Hunt” and “Wolfram” Ms. Blooding co-writing with someone else. That’s actually my one and only complaint about Double-Double Demon Trouble by F.J. Wolfram (which I believe is a collaboration of Ms. Blooding and her husband). I love - make that totally adore - the universe created by Ms. Blooding and used as the shared setting for overlapping stories under these various names / solo and partnership. I’d just wish she’d settle on one name so it would be less confusing! Having said that, I am very excited by the crossover of the related Sven Seven-Tails and Whiskey Witches stories. That this is going to be spread over two books beyond this one just adds to the excitement. As for this book, no surprise that I loved it as Dexx and Paige have long been favorite characters from the prior books, and Sven Seven-Tails is the twisted evil bad guy I’ve loved hating. Putting them back and with Dexx and Paige having Whiskey Witch and Pack allies on their side? Brilliant. This is a fantastic wild ride of a read. Addictive too, as evidenced by the fact that I’m having this review posted (by my poor husband who does the review postings for me as I’m in the hospital and can’t do it myself) almost 3am. I’m going to suffer tomorrow, but it was worth it.

Oh yeah: highly recommended.

You can not leave me hanging like this!!
When evil comes for Paige, Daxx finds himself in more trouble than he can handle alone (honestly though what is new with that?) and as we have come to expect with the Whiskey family, especially when Daxx charges in -Chaos and Humor and adventure ensue.
I am such a fan of the Whiskey Witches - They are such a ragtag bunch of misfits but above all their differences and their disagreements they are family - through thick and thin - Fire and Ice.
I may have a real soft spot for Fat Cat and Daxx- he has such a habit of jumping right in without a whole lot of forethought. He has such a big heart and I do so enjoy his cantankerous ways
This is the first in a set of three? (I believe) that is a crossover series - do not worry though everyone is here. We also get to meet some new characters and become better acquainted with some of the secondary.
As always if you love paranormal with a strong storyline, lots of action packed with an incredible cast look no further than the Whiskey Family

DOUBLE-DOUBLE DEMON TROUBLE by S. Blooding is a cross-over trilogy that picks up the day after Whiskey on the Rocks ends, and centers around Dexx. Paige, his forever love, is eight months pregnant with twins and they know trouble is coming, hopefully after the babies are born. Sven Seven-Tails and his demons are making trouble in Troutdale and Portland and, a shadowy government agency is involved somehow. Suddenly, the ancient family texts are readable, but in riddles of prophecy that make no sense.  Geesh, why have a prophecy if you can't understand it?

Get ready to have tears in your eyes before you finish.

I love reading about this family and their world. I find it hard to put down each installment and I recommend this entire series and the authors for your reading pleasure.

Now, I can hardly wait to see what comes in Mirror, Mirror Demon Rubble, the next book in this series.

I did receive a copy of this book from the author and this is my honest review.

I am such a fan of the Whiskey Witches Universe. I've read every one of the books out so far and this is an additive series. This book had me tense during all the demon attacks and laughing until I cried at times. Dexx is such a "guy" and being privy to his thought process is hilarious. Dexx is acting more like a dad and Paige is so ready to NOT be pregnant anymore. I love that Dexx has learned how to balance the Red Star Division and family. With Sven Seven-Tails back, there is gonna be some bad mojo coming their way. Alma is so wonderful. I wanna grown up to be just like her. Leslie has always been my favorite, but she wasn't here much this time. I am amazed at the kids' powers and how good they are getting wielding them. This is a fantastic story and I am anxious to get to Sven's second book. If you like powerful women, witches and/or shifters this is a don't miss series. I volunteered to read an advanced reader copy and am under no obligation to leave this review.

ONE EXITING READ!!!
Whoa baby, talk about a hard act to follow. A whirlwind of emotions and events really pulls those heartstrings. All the drama, fear, uncertainty, danger and suspense increases steadily while tension spirials as the plot thickens. Twists and turns abound with unexpected circumstances and unpredictable surprises that make for one thrilling experience. The characters are complex and believable with such depth and individuality it's easy to relate. The characters and scenes are written with such realism it really pulls this little jewel together beautifully. Wolfram did an amazing job bringing this read to life brilliantly. Fantastic job Wolfram, thanks for sharing this little guy with us.

Demons are attacking in Troutdale, and Portland. Paige has finally returned, she is very pregnant, and the target of Sven, a very powerful demon, whom she has battled in the past. Prophecy, as far as Dexx is concerned, is useless since it doesn't tell them how to protect the ones they love and their community.
Wow! Fantastic, exciting, action packed read with lots of magical battles. Shapeshifters and a family of powerful witches make this a must read with fascinating, unique, and well written characters that can make you laugh, an maybe cry. I loved this book!

I am voluntarily leaving an honest and non-incentivized review of this ARC.

Just Loved It!! You will not find a lot of books in league with the Whiskey Witch series and spin-offs. They are full of Family, Love, Loyalty, and so many various para-normals that you do not find in other books. They are action-packed. Each book grabs you from the very start and you will be unable to put it down. Everyone pulls together to fight evil and protect the others while forming friendships and bonds that last lifetimes. Poor Paige even super pregnant does not get a break from fighting the bad guys. Love how Leslie is now on the front lines with Paige. I received an advanced copy and loved it and voluntarily leave my review.

Paige is back and Sven is still stirring up trouble in this cross-over Wiskey Witches / Red Star / Dexx's shifter story.
This one includes all the action packed, sassy pattered paranormal police suspense I've come to expect of the Dexx stories and I loved trying to puzzle out where the prophecies were leading.
Fair warning that there is a whole lot more to the story and this one ends on one of those cliff-hanger endings that will send you scrambling for the next story (scheduled release for September 2018), but if you don't mind a two book commitment (and if you're a fan of the Whiskeys, you've already invested a good deal more than that in their adventures), this one's a great read.

Double Double Demon Trouble

Dexx is worried; Paige, his forever love, is eight months pregnant with twins. Shifter witch twins. If that wasn't enough, a demon was back in town, raising hell, literally.

Confounding prophecies, confusing actions, people acting totally out of character keep Dexx on the go, trying to prevent a demon apocalypse. But Destiny will not be denied...

Riveting! This book grabbed my attention from the first sentence and didn't let go! Can't wait to see what happens next!

The Whiskeys’ are back along with their pack and family and friends. This time Sven is back with a horde of demons and he wants Paige! This book starts a cross-over event of a trilogy! It is action packed from the beginning and it has even more demons than before. The first sacrifice is made, how many more will occur? This is the first book on how they will finally take down Sven! How will they all handle this one? What do the prophecies mean? This is a good book to read to keep up with the Whiskeys!

This is the first book I have read by F.J. Wolfram. The book being the first of a crossover was easy to understand, I don't feel like I missed anything by not reading the others first. Wonderful world building. Interesting characters that I hope to get to know more about in others stories.
