She knows she has to get over her losses—because they haven’t had many wins—and keep moving forward. The entire town of Troutdale knows the existence of the paranormals that live among them and someone’s gotta keep a lid down on the civil war breeding inside her own damned wards.
Sven and his demons have walled off the entire town. Nothing comes in or out. No supplies. No food. No medicines. No gas. And all around them? Demons.
They’re glued to her wards like flies on fly paper and it doesn’t matter now many Paige and her team pick off, more seem to come. She’s even been forced to let the Blackman witches underneath the protections of her wards so they wouldn’t fall into Sven’s hands. She’s gathered all the power players she can, and it isn’t enough Sven is too powerful. He’s found a way to siphon power from an alternate dimension, where the spirit animals and fallen gods and goddesses live. And now? He’s got Bastet on his team.
Blessed Mother. The chips just keep rolling.
So, Paige is going to do the only thing she can. She’s going to free an old enemy, to release the most powerful Eastwood witch, and see if the power of the three greatest witch families on the west coast will finally be enough to bring down Sven Seven-Tails once and for all.
This concludes the Whiskey-verse Crossover Event. Whoa! What a ride!
Seven-Tails Miniseries Event: S.M. Blooding, Dead Demon ... Die #3 - It's hard to pick my favorite, but this is it. Well written and action packed, this fast paced, intriguing adventure keeps the reader glued to the pages making it difficult to put down. Emotions run the gamut and the reader experiences every one of them. The characters are interesting, horrible, great but not cowards. The storylines, along with the descriptions and humor, keep the reader's interest throughout every page. I contacted Ms. Blooding to review her books. 5*
F. J. Wolfram, Double-Double Demon Trouble #1 - While I'm familiar with Whiskey Witches by S. M. Blooding, I haven't read anything by this author. This book picks up the day after Whiskey on the Rocks ends, which I haven't read. Since I only had read the first two Whiskey books, I wasn't sure if I would be lost reading with such a large gap in the WW world. No problem, I understood the parts that referred back to the first two WW books and didn't need to worry about the other references. I didn't get lost, but got immersed in another good WW book.
Double is well written, fast paced and with plenty of action. I still like the original characters I knew as well as the new to me characters that have joined the WW world. They were believable and their dialog realistic. Alma is my favorite strong female, with Paige close behind. The humor, the storylines and intriguing plot make it hard to put down the book. The language isn't as heavily vulgar as in the first book I read. I contacted Ms. Blooding to review her books. 4*
Hattie Hunt, Mirror, Mirror Demon Rubble #2 - The world changes for a baker and she's swept into the Whiskey Witches world. Another fast paced, action packed novel full of intriguing storylines that makes it difficult to put the book down. The characters are still kicking, realistic and given good dialog. The emotions run the gamut, as they do in all these books. The humor and vivid descriptions put the reader there within the action and drama. I contacted Ms. Blooding to review her books. 4* Seven-Tails Miniseries Event End.
I love the universe of the Whiskey Witches and related series written by S.M. Blooding (uber her own or a pen name) and sometimes co-authored with her husband (under another pen name). They are all absolutely fantastic and it’s been hard to understand how the different story lines are managed so as to work even when overlapping in events / times occupied by other series. Nevertheless it’s been done perfectly and now in the first Whiskey Witches Crossover series there is a truly neat mingling of the different series story lines and characters. That continues wit the frankly fabulous Dead Demon Die: A Whiskey Witches Novel (Whiskey Witches Crossover 1 Book 3). Things are coming to a head with Sven, the baddest of the evil characters across the several series, and our heroine Paige has her back to the wall surrounded by demons that look to be on the path to overcome her and her friends and allies. Desperate measures are called for - and taken - which are frankly shocking considering prior events (no I’m not going to give anything away as I’ll not be a spoiler). It all comes to a head with a frankly powerful series conclusion. A brave new world. Fans of this series will love the conclusion. Newcomers too, as the book can stand alone thanks to a darn good series recap at its start - but really this series is too good to miss out by skipping the prior books so I strongly recommend starting at book 1. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises - the book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend. I’m definitely looking forward to the next book in this series. DEAD DEMON DIE: A Whiskey Witches Novel (Whiskey Witches Crossover 1 Book 3). This crossover series successfully interweaves the different story lines and characters in the Whiskey Family series. The convoluted, but interesting and humorous family drama will hold your interest and turning the pages until the saving-the-world action intervenes.
This is a battle to save heaven and hell with demons and angels, demi-gods and shifters, and surprisingly, the mundane citizens of Troutdale. But will this be enough magic and power to destroy Sven forever?
Sven Seven Tails is the one that placed the door to hell in Paige years ago. Now he seems bent on destroying the world to get Paige to join him.
Paige, possibly the most powerful witch on earth, has just lost the grandmother that raised her and pregnant with antsy twins, no wonder she is so short-tempered. Powerful or not, she needs to take care of Sven now, before her babies are born and she has use their power. Unfortunately, those same babies want out into the world, now. But will she be strong enough to stop Sven? Can anyone stop him.
No words can really express how fantastic this series is and how down to earth this author is. So much of these stories relate right into our everyday mundane lives. Really, this is a must read for all witch and paranormal fans! I almost could not put it down long enough to eat, sleep or work!
Ms. Blooding graciously sent me this copy to review. I am happily returning her gift with my honest review. Now, on to Whiskey Storm.
Paige and her family have done their best to prepare for the final battle to save the world from the demon Sven Seven-Tails. Unfortunately, Troutdale is under siege, running low on supplies, and not sure they can trust the witches and shifters that have lived among them for years. Wow, epic magical battles. Powerful witch families, their friends, the shifter packs, the regular human citizens of Troutdale, and a few more allies are determined to save their town, and whether they know it or not, the whole world, from a powerful demon who wants be a god. Saving the world from a powerful demon and his allies draws a lot of attention. Thanks to the media the whole world is now aware of the paranormals that have lived among the humans as their friends and neighbors. I loved these books, and can't wait to find out what comes next. I think this is a fantastic must read conclusion to a fabulous series!
I am voluntarily leaving an honest and non-incentivized review of this ARC.
The third installment in this trilogy will bring about many battles leading up to the finale~ The finale is the fight with Sven and his minions. As the townspeople, witches from the three clans, all shapeshifters, and new ancients and other super naturals gear up and ready for the final showdown, Paige, Dexx, Leslie and a few others travel around to gather the rest of the puzzle pieces. The battles that lead up to the finale are epic! This book will finally pull together all three series to showcase how Sven is finally dealt with and why each piece was important to help stop him. I found myself hooting and hollering on many parts. More sacrifices are made as well. Lots of snarkiness that is the norm will come alive. Also, there is something else that will come not mentioned in this book! With the heralded arrival of the twins and all the allies…what is bigger than Sven? We will find out in the next series that combines all the divisions of the Whiskey Witches!
This is the last tale of the Sven Seven Tails saga (or at least we hope it is). If you've followed the Whiskys, you already know what to expect, but this time it's bigger and there's more of it. Pregnant Paige is short-tempered, no-nonsense and possibly the most powerful witch on earth, but she's also a Mom, about to give birth to twins and in love with the incorrigible Dexx. Then, there's Leslie, Billy Black, the assorted cast of Red Star officers and witch families. The battles are epic - heaven and hell stuff with demons and angels, demi-gods and shifters, but the story is about family and community and working together for the common good - and it's a book that will leave you wrung out but hopeful ... after all, there are those two new babies whose powers I can't wait to explore.
This may be the end of Sven, but the Whiskeys never do anything halfway. I cried and cried for Alma even after I put the book down. I also love the way they are teaching the kids to stand strong and believe in themselves. Mixing the humans, witches and shifters to fight this major demon is bound to leave a mess. Plus in the middle of everything, Paige is still big pregnant and due to deliver anytime. Forced to work with her mother, in-laws and step-mother just puts another layer of OMG on top of everything. I can't say enough how fantastic this series is and how down to earth this author is. I can relate to everything that happens to the Whiskey family. I volunteered to read an advanced reader copy and am under no obligation to leave this review.
I love the whole series. The story line is great and made me not want to put it down. Of course there are sad times when a loved character dies but happy times too. Keep the books coming, I'm a big fan!
