A sundrenched day at the beach introduces kids to the concept of group play.

Alone and bored at the beach one day, a little shrew asks an elephant to play. The elephant is curious—how could two be better than one, when playing alone is already so much fun? The shrew makes such a great case for two that the elephant thinks: Then why not three? Wouldn’t that be even better than two? Or how about four? But that turns out to be just too overwhelming for the litte shrew, who finally meets her perfect match when she finds a friendly bird who wants to play TWOgether, too!

About the author

Susan completed her BFA at Art Center College of Design and began her illustration career as a poster and calendar artist in Los Angeles. Her love of drawing lively characters earned her an internship with Walt Disney Feature Animation and she became a member of the original animation team at the Disney MGM Studios in Orlando, Florida. But the lure of the silver screen was not to last. Susan returned to her native California to continue her passion of creating whimsical illustrations and captivating picture books.
