Killer Children: Horrifying True Stories of Kids Who Kill

Rate this book
When you think about the evil in the world, you conjure up images of those who prey on children, serial murderers, and criminals who carry out sickening and violent acts towards the weak, vulnerable, and undeserving. Names like Bundy, Gacy, and Gein come to mind, alongside the many other murderous people out there who've gained notoriety because of their evil. When you're envisioning the unthinkable and heinous acts that are carried out in this world, it's unlikely you imagine a youngster as being a perpetrator of evil.
Killer children, although rare, do exist. The thought alone is terrifying; we see children as being vulnerable and pure, which makes it harder to comprehend them wanting to inflict pain and suffering on another being. The correlation of a child and unthinkable acts of murder is undeniably tricky to compute.
The children in this book carried out acts of savage murder - even just typing that sentence feels wrong. Some of these murders are sexually motivated; some are carried out for revenge; others are part of an occult ritual. Regardless of the motivation for these children to commit unspeakable acts of cruelty, they are all disturbing.
This book was written to give you some food for thought, to allow you to digest some of the heinous crimes committed by youngsters and consider why they'd carry out such horrific acts. This book will open up a world of questions, many of which I've likely pondered upon myself. While I do offer up my own opinion throughout this book, I do need to (as much as possible) stick to the facts to let you make your own mind up.
With that in mind, let's delve into some of the despicably horrific murders that were carried out by children.

O carte extrem de brutală pe care nu o recomand celor slabi de inimă.
Viața bate filmul. Orice carte thriller pe care am citit-o e nimic pe lângă viața reală. Iar acest lucru este trist..
Mi-a rupt sufletul cartea.

So sad

It is truly grieving to see the depths of the depravity of mankind. To see that kids are no exception to the depths of sin is no surprise, but it is hard to read about. This short book has stories that will rip out your heart, but hopefully help you to see that people everywhere need Jesus.

Hard to Believe

I wasn't sure what to expect from this author whom I was reading for the first time. Also there were a couple of chapters about particular killer children I'd read about in previous books. I hesitated but imagine my surprise when I actually learned new information that I hadn't come across before. It was intriguing to get these additional nuggets of facts regarding the lives / upbringing (good or bad or terrible) that helped to shape / warp the minds of these youngsters and teens.

The author's writing style made it easy to read her book without it being too clinical. While her emphasis was on the murderers and the cruelty of their actions, she also gave insights into the victims and why they were chosen. As well as how devastated the victims' relatives were. I can definitely recommend this book to other true crime readers especially those interested in children / teens who kill. These vignettes are a starting off point for those interested in doing further research on one of the murderers referenced in this book.

I have read a few books on "killer children" over time and this was a compilation that had some of the worst ones - I guessed that it would contain Mary Bell's story which is probably the worst one that I have read taking in to account her actions and also how she was treated and the abuse she suffered as a young child herself.

The book does not make easy reading but the chapter length is spot on and it is well written too. The chapters for the different children were ideal and I was able to read the book over a couple of days. It is 4 stars from me for this one

This was a really well put together and detailed set of stories of children that kill. I would have given it 4 stars but there were grammatical and spelling errors all throughout the book that took away from my reading experience. I will read other books by this author because you could tell that they had spent time researching the cases that they put together for this book and gave great information in each story about not only the killers but the victims as well.

Thought Provoking

Makes you question if there is really such a thing as a "Bad Seed". Are some kids just born sociopaths? There are a lot of kids that have bad parents or bad things happen to them, I don't know that that is a valid excuse to kill someone - especially someone who never did anything to harm them.

Good book

This was an interesting book. I love reading about and watching true crime so this was right up my alley. While i did enjoy, it was like a lot of other true crime books i read...nothing exceptional. I would recommend this to other readers who like true crime but it's nothing i would reread multiple times.

A lot of these stories were new to me. Some of them were hard to believe because of the cruel nature behind them - killer children is something I don’t think I will ever be able to comprehend.

The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because of some spelling errors throughout - but wasn’t anything major.

Quick read...incredibly interesting, but also short and lacking in detail. The writing itself could use some work, as there are some spelling and grammatical errors.

Interesting, definitely worth a read, but might leaving you with wanting more information and detail.

Decent

Not a bad book. Certainly well researched and written. It is disturbing to think that these murders were committed by children. Scary really what can happen in the mind to cause someone to take the life of another.

Absolutely excellent quick read (only 70 pages), however I would have personally appreciated more details about the crime and circumstances. I suppose that this book was good for quick overviews for me to know which cases I would like to know more about. Finished in one sitting easily

It’s sad to think that young people can commit such terrible crimes. The killers mentioned in this book came from some sad and abusive homes. Without a stable upbringing it unfortunately leads to some terrible crimes that never should have taken place.

Good, fast read

Various stories, about killer kids. Some of these, are not in the US. The eight year old, from India was especially appalling.

Interesting

It amazes me the level of evil in this world..I think some of the sentences were crazy. But there a Master above.

Shallow

There is not much insight in the articles. They are brief sketches that are not particularly revealing on the motives or aftermath.

This book was eye opening. I never realized that not all killer kids come from "bad conditions"

A very informative book, while remaining entertaining. The author has a lot of insight and plenty of information on each case

The cases were disturbing. I had heard of most of them though as I watch a lot of true crime videos on YouTube. I rated the book quite low, because it is not edited or proofread well at all. There were many typos and that distracted me from enjoying the book. The book read like an amateur article or essay, rather than a professional text.
Still a good introduction to a disturbing topic.
