Fueled by dark chocolate and even darker coffee, USA Today bestselling author Jane Henry writes what she loves to read – character-driven, unputdownable romance featuring dominant alpha males and the powerful heroines who bring them to their knees. She’s believed in the power of love and romance since Belle won over the beast, and finally decided to write love stories of her own.
Next brotherr in this series and its pretty fast pace and some steam.
I had hard time with this story because it was dead wife/friend trope and it was hard for me because Megan was pinning for Carson in her own ways even alittle and since she lost her friend she crushed harder on Carson. And as for Carson he tried many times not to think of his dead ex but didn't work he kept saying "my woman" it got annoying it brought my rating down.
Carson was also looking for revenge against the peoples who killed his ex. Beside that ex stuff and that revenge. The Romance between Meg and Carson was okay they had some great steamy moments and the Punishments weren't as bad as the other books. I loved how Carson showed Meg he enjoyed/love every inch of her. And Meg she was sassy she knew what the Clan was about since she was family.
I'm 50/50 on the next book I think its Fiona and Lachian lots of tension between them already. I hope its good.
Low angst, no ow/om drama, no cheating, secondary charas, drama, sexy times, no virgins no manwhore

If you're looking for a consensual, fairly mild D/s book featuring a likeable MC, you will probably enjoy this. Before I begin my review, I do want to advise readers of three things. First, I don't really think of this as a standalone since all these characters appear in the first three books and most of the world-building is done in Keenan: A Dark Irish Mafia Romance (even though I've read them, I've forgotten why Megan lives with her aunt and not with her own parents, and Ms. Henry doesn't explain this here; and I know Eve's disappearance was at least mentioned in another book, but I forget those circumstances, too). That said, the relationship itself is complete within this volume. Second, since my definition of "dark" is non-consent, I didn't find this particularly "dark;" for me, this is a relief, but true lovers of that sub-genre may be disappointed. Finally, you do have to engage in a fair amount of cognitive dissonance to find attractive an Irish mafia family who deals in guns. Given the amount of gun violence in the U.S., I think this particularly loathsome.
Of all the couples, I find Carson and Megan the most attractive. This is, however, due to my own personal preferences. I appreciated that Megan wasn't barely legal, but almost thirty (which is, unfortunately, old for this genre); that she wasn't a virgin; that she had a career; and that she was far more pro-active than the other female characters have been (). I also liked Carson, the devoted, hands-on single father, struggling with grief and obsessed with revenge for what he discovers was his dead wife's murder. Although the conflicts between Carson and Megan are the usual "secrets and lies" which I find contrived in these generic books, the rest of their relationship was refreshingly mature, consensual, and suffused with mutual respect.
Where I do have problems is where I always do with this author's books and that is plot coherence: there are more holes than an entire packet of Swiss Cheese. Why, for example, Those are just a few of the far too many questions I had by the end.
I also had a problem with the speed with which the relationship evolves: while I hesitate to say that there's a proscribed timeline for grief, six months seems too short to me. And while the insta-love between Megan and Carson was a bit more understandable since they've known each other for a long time, I would have bought it into it more if -- given Carson's circumstances -- it were a bit of a slower burn.
It looks like we'll get Lachlan and Fiona next -- so, another barely post-pubescent h. Personally, I'd like to see Maeve get her turn -- she certainly deserves it after .
4 stars. I liked the relationship; it was consensual; and the writing was decent with no editing errors that I saw. And I really, really, really appreciated Ms. Henry's meditation on submission here: so many books confuse it with "weakness" and "doormat," and she goes out her way to correct that misconception
Jane Henry has some of the absolute best prose in Romance. Her stories are so well-written. She takes the time to develop her characters. Her dialogue is real, and in this particular series, the Irish flavor is so fun.
Her bedroom scenes are as hot as ever, and I love how much time we get with the characters from other books in the series.
Also, I just freaking love this cover. I never seem to see hot dudes with glasses and really I need more of it :) I already liked Carson before i cracked the cover, and I certainly wasn’t disappointed with his strong, intelligent, sexy personality. Highly recommend!

ARC Provided by Bookfunnel 🌀 I also got this ebook with KU.
Carson, the serious bookkeeper of the McCarthy clan is the focus of this story. Carson is a single father with a 2 year old daughter to raise. Eve, little Brenna's mother was killed in a car accident and Carson is a beloved, attentive father to her. When at a wedding, Megan and Carson suddenly realize they each have a desire for the other, the sparks start to fly. Carson is a dominant lover and Megan has dreamed of a man to take over in the bedroom Carson is that man and both of them couldn't be happier. Brenna is adorable and I appreciated that she was a visible part of the story throughout. Megan has always been a feisty part of the McCarthy Clan, but resents all the men being so protective of her. As problems arise after Carson investigates Eve's accident, there is clan O'Gregor to deal with. The relationship between Carson and Megan develops with little Brenna added to the mix, this is a heartwarming sweet, yet hot and sexy story with a bit of mystery and danger added in. This is another wonderful story of the McCarthy clan and the women they love. The surprise revelation to come adds much to the story of the brotherhood and a tight, loving family.
I thought Jane couldn't make me love this group of men any more than I already did, but I was so wrong. Carson is heartbroken over his wife's death. He knows something isn't right over what happened and he will do anything to find out what really happened.
Megan has known Carson forever and his wife was one of her best friends. She misses Eve as a sister would miss another. And never thought she would feel anything for Carson. But as things change in their relationship Megan and Carson find out there was a whole life Eve wasn't telling anyone about.
Carson will blow your mind, hurt your heart, and then put it all back together. I could not put this story down until the very last sentence. I loved it!!
I loved this book. It's official that I love this series. I was wondering how the book would work given the snippets we've seen of Carson in Keenan, Cormac and Nolan, but was pleased with his counterpart. Well matched. I think this is the best series Jane Henry has done to date, and love the cameo scenes with the whole family. Am absolutely on the edge of my seat for the next book and was hoping he'd get one! A must read for Jane fans and those new to her work. I received an ARC for a voluntary and honest review.
Oh lawd Carson is, well for lack of a better word, his ass is FINE!!!! Not only does he have a body to kill for but he has the brains to go with it. Love Megan, she is so feisty and doesn't let anything hold her back. Little Breena is absolutely adorable. She has a family that loves her dearly. Oh and there is some shockers in the book, for sure.
Looking forward to Lachlan's story.
****on a side note I am disappointed with this author for always teasing us with talk of anal sex but never delivering 😢
This story was hot! Brilliant in the telling of Carson and Megan. Megan is born to her role in the Clan. Carson is a member with a beautiful mind and a hot body. The path that Jane Henry sets these two on is filled with twists and danger, love and lust and everything in between. Walk along the craggy cliffs that sit on the estate of the McCarthy Clan. The stories that are told there will make you fall in love and take you into the Dark Irish Mafia.
This series just keeps getting better with each book. I love everything that happens in the books (well, you know what I mean), and how we keep getting to know more about the entire clan as well as the primary couple in each book.
I like Megan. I think that she has a fantastic spirit and is just fun to know. I think that she has a huge heart and she just gets so much enjoyment from life. I'm so glad that she has her HEA.
Carson is a good man. He wants to make sure that the Clan is safe, and he will do everything he can to make sure that happens. I think that he's a good match for Megan.
For those of you who have been following Jane Henry's "Dangerous Doms" series, you'll feel like you've watched Carson not only grow up but come into his own. The Clan's nerdy geek shows so much strength and character in this book and Megan? These two are considered family but are they really part of the Clan? The twists and turns in this storyline had me chasing the conclusion with chuckles, tears, and anticipation. I can't wait for Lach's story next.

Carson and Megan begin to notice each other and form a relationship. Well, it’s starts as a one night stand... or so she thinks. She learns she likes it rough and dirty and he’s the perfect man to give it to her. Another great story in this series. Can be read on its own with no issues.
Love this series! A great addition with a lead character I didn’t expect to like as much as I did. With intrigue, suspense, and a sizzling romance with my favorite female character, I fell in love all over again. Another not to be missed read!
Carson is another masterpiece by Jane Henry. What a fabulous storyteller she is.I admire the way she introduces her characters so effortlessly. This book is full of passion, danger, secrets, betrayal and kink. The strong Mafia theme continues to tantalize us just like in all the previous books in this series.Carson is now my very favorite character. So broody.A delicious, sexy, lethal nerd. His love for his daughter touched my heart.
We got to know Megan scattered throughout the previous books. She was strong willed and fought the restrictions put on her by her family. She had always taken the lead in her past relationships. She had fantasized about a man who would not cave to her demands. To feel the heat of his palm, and Carson was just that man.He was her own special Superman.
Carson has always been in the background.Bookkeeper for the clan.He was quiet, intelligent, mysterious ,loyal, and haunted by his past. But don’t be fooled,he was also stern, kinky and oh so deadly. It was only meant to be a one night stand, but their chemistry was explosive. They were made for each other. Carson was out for revenge. So much grief shrouded him that he almost missed what was right under his nose
Once again we are pulled into the saga that is the McCarthy Clan.Despite their criminal lifestyle, family loyalty means everything.I admired how they accepted Carson unconditionally.I enjoyed the secretiveness interspersed throughout the storyline.I loved the surprise ending .It was a fitting conclusion to a excellent story.
One thing I can always say, Ms. Jane Henry never disappoints with her writing, bigger than life characters, and scenarios. What a fouth great story to this new series, Dangerous Doms, and with it, you have the good, the bad, and the ugly. The story keeps the pages turning with a powerful, dominant man, Carson Fynn, but a broken man on a mission to get retribution for the murder of Eve, mother to his daughter. Throw in Eve’s friend and the cousin to the McCarthy Clan, Megan.
“For one night, I want to forget my responsibilities, my job. For one night, I want to be a man with a beautiful woman on his arm.”
I will say, I love this series, and Jane Henry brings a fresh perspective to her Dangerous Doms series that her readers seem to love. Too many authors have jumped on the "mafia" bandwagon, but the stores are so 'cookie-cutter' that they have nothing new to offer. That is not the case with Ms. Henry's books--nor this Irish Mafia series.
Ms. Jane' Henry's characters are powerful men, not without imperfections, and nothing that happens in her books are over the top. Her books are page-turners with plenty of mystery, suspense, danger, and action. Throw in a dominant man, Carson; he is brains and brawn--and then Megan, a cousin to the McCarthy Clan, things are going to get interesting. Together, they sizzle!
For Megan, she has always had feelings for Carson but has kept them hidden, and she respected the relationship Eve, and Carson had, which resulted in a child, Brenna. Carson is unlike any man she has been with before; he is dominant and brings out a submissive side she hasn’t explored but craves what he has to offer. How will they keep it a secret from her cousins and not cause issues? Before these two know it, they are in deeper, not just physically, but lines are crossed in Stone City, a life is taken, and retribution could come down upon them. How will Carson keep Megan protected? What will happen when he learns a secret she has been hiding? Is Carson a spy? So many unanswered questions.
“If I choose a member of the Clan, I’m in this for life. All of it. The good, the bad, the ugly. Their old-fashioned, domineering, but protective ways. Their fierce loyalty and dedication to Clan code. The battles that take lives.”
The story is an action-packed adventure that takes the reader inside the Irish Mafia and how they operate. It includes strong, feisty women, who support the men they love, accept that they must step back, and allow them to conduct business and not ask questions. It is power, control, dominance, discipline, and clan loyalty that ties this tale all together. There is excellent erotic and kink filled chemistry between Carson and Megan. He loves to dominate, and she gets all melty with submission. It is life and death, the revelation of secrets, new beginnings, and yes, the elusive happy ever after ending.
“I know then, something I’ve known since I was just a Clan child, that life is a series of gains and losses, and the gains may be more powerful with the intensity of Clan life. But it balances it out. It all balances out.”
The story does depict scenes of violence, explicit discipline, and the sex scenes are erotic and consensual. I don’t know where this series will take us, and while there is no cliffhanger, I hope some characters mentioned may segue into the next story.
Side note, the author does indicate at the end of the book that the next story will be Lachlan, due August 2020.
Carson A Dark Irish Mafia Romance (Dangerous Doms, Book 4) By: Jane Henry Narrated by: Kai Kennicott, Wen Ross
I am loving Jane Henry’s “Dangerous Doms” series, loving the great characters in this series, the swoon worthy McCarthy men and their amazing women. This book is Carson Flynn’s story, he is the McCarthy Clan’s resident geek and computer guru. But hiding behind those glasses is one dangerous man and when he gets news about his late wife’s death he wants vengeance and goes on a secret mission to get it. Megan is a cousin of the McCarthy men, related to their Mother Maeve. She was good friends with Eve, Carson’s late wife, she also had feeling for Carson but out of her respect for Eve she kept them to herself. Carson had been in a funk since Eve’s passing but he is getting ready to start living again. Then he sees something in Megan, something he wants, he then goes for it. She is hesitant about it plus she has insecurities about her body but Carson shows her she has nothing to be insecure about. I loved these two together, the chemistry between them is undeniable and they were perfect for each other in every other way too. I loved how everything plays out in this book, secrets get uncovered, clan rivals create more problems for the McCarthy’s and they have to act. This is another brilliant mafia romance story, it is cleverly plotted with plenty of drama, angst, action, twists and turns, mystery, thrilling and suspenseful moments, heartfelt and emotional ones and some hot romance. Jane Henry thank you for another awesome book!
I listened to the Audible edition, Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross are perfectly casted to portray these characters. They continue to bring them and their stories to life. Wen Ross grasped Carson’s persona completely, he made the role his own, an Irish alpha bad ass brogue and all. Kai Kennicott’s Megan was spot on too, she brought out all her strengths and allowed you to hear her vulnerable and insecure side too. Both did a great job covering all the secondary characters as well including Breena’s voice. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another awesome listen🎧
An AMAZING tale of intrigue woven into a FASCINATING and ROMANTIC tale of new love! MUST-READ! While CARSON, the newest novel by the PHENOMENAL author Jane Henry, is a Dark Irish Mafia Romance, it is also the most romantic and enticing narrative – the kind that causes tingles, tears, sighs, giggles, and goosebumps and then lingers on the mind long after its reading is complete. Written with Ms. Henry’s eloquently descriptive aplomb, CARSON’s main characters, Megan and Carson, captured my heart. I became so invested in these realistic yet special characters, as well as a host of others introduced in the other books in this Dark Irish Mafia series, I completely ignored the bells, whistles, and hours passing in real life. (I was so deeply devoted that my loving hubby had to gather food at the local drive-through!) Author Henry’s novels are always romantically thrilling, her characters are fully developed, and the plotlines are so enticingly full of suspense that it is easy to fall deeply into the setting and events and then realize with the conclusion of the story how absolutely incredible the story was and how much one can miss, perhaps even long for from a world which the novel’s ending has now flung you. The Irish idioms were a fun touch of that realism. Like many others who follow this amazingly talented author, I long to read the next novel in the series which will release in August. Since I know I can not wait that long, I’m off to read KEENAN, the first novel in the Dark Irish Mafia Romance series again. With CARSON, Jane Henry has delivered another MARVELOUS addition to her kinky series, and I am so glad I volunteered to read an early copy of CARSON. I will be purchasing a copy of CARSON as well because it was just THAT great, and I want to support the authors I like! If you haven’t read anything written by Jane Henry, you are in for a rare treat! In addition, if you haven’t read any of Ms. Henry’s Dark Irish Mafia Romances, then start with CARSON! Each novel is standalone, but don’t be surprised if you need to go back and read the other titles, because each one is PHENOMENAL! Above is my voluntary 5+STAR review with a MUST-READ recommendation. I STRONGLY suggest that you get your copy of CARSON today! Happy pages! 😉
Oh, how I love these books! I was so excited to read Carson's story, partly because he's paired with Megan, who I've been really interested in getting to know more deeply. As cousin to the McCarthy brothers, she's appeared several times before, and I love her playful, strong personality.
And as readers of Romance, don't we all have a weakness for the dark and tortured genius? (So does Megan, naturally.) It's a flavor of Hero we come back to again and again, because it always satisfies - especially when he's served up oh-so-deliciously.
I really love these two! Carson's solitary nature, and love of hearth and home. Megan's caring heart, connection to family, and her outgoing nature. She's a woman who protects herself, but doesn't hesitate to love with her entire soul. They seem like very different people when apart, but when together, they're in synch. They need the same things.
"But this, right here is where my heart longs to rest, in the perfect balance of simple pleasures. Companionship." - Megan
And yes, Carson is a single Dad - his relationship with his daughter, Breena, is the absolute, most important thing in his life. I loved reading each and every one of their interactions. Maeve's interactions with Breena are so real to me. I was only a bit older than Breena when my family lived in Northern Ireland, so seeing the way she acts with her father, her shyness in public, the way she's treated by those around her, all reminded me strongly of my own, faded memories and the stories my parents still tell over 40 years later.
Somehow, each book in this series has managed to bring me back to that place and time in different ways. With each new book, I find myself smiling at something totally unexpected, and it gives what are all exceptionally good books even greater depth of emotion.
As with the McCarthy boys, Carson's story has an exceptional plot, with the addition of a very interesting twist. I thought I'd seen it coming, but Ms. Henry managed to trick me in the way it all came together. Well done!
I wait with baited breath for the next book in this series!
Carson is the fourth book in the Dangerous Doms series about one clan of the Irish Mafia. I have read a couple of the previous books in this series and several others by Jane Henry so I was pretty sure what I was getting into with Carson. But boy was I wrong..............this story took my breath away as I was reading. Right from the first page of the Prologue all the way to the last I was hooked. This is an exceptionally well crafted and written story which takes the reader on a fascinating, deep, dark, violent, emotional and joyous journey. There is family, loyalty, danger, betrayal, religion, conflict, with a good dose of BDSM and hot and heavy sex. Carson grabbed my heart at the beginning and so did Megan, but for very different reasons. These two are on their own paths but when they grow close together it is something to experience. Carson is a quiet, nerdy bookkeeper for the McCarthy Clan. He is also a single father after losing his wife in a car accident six months ago. He may appear to be one way but he hides many facets of himself including that he is trying to get revenge. But he also has some dirty, sexy kink to him which comes out in a domineering way with the addition of some BDSM. Megan is a cousin of the McCarthy brothers and was raised more like a sister. She loves her family and close friends but as she is closing in on thirty and seeing her cousins getting married she is starting to have some thoughts. But she does want to find the one that lights her up as she has only ever had "vanilla" relationships before. Carson allows Megan to explore her inner kink with him and she gives him a safe place to heal and experience joy once again. But then add in the sweet and beautiful little Breena who is a doll. I loved this story for all the emotions that the author wove into the story and characters. I can't wait for the next in this series to see what happens next with these dark and dangerous Irish Doms.
Well, well, well. I should have known that Carson would be my favorite member of the McCarthy Clan. He's the smart, sexy, glasses wearing computer genius/hacker. He's also a recently single father since the death of his wife and he's on a quest for revenge against those who took her life. Then there is Megan, the sassy cousin to those McCarthy men, who doesn't do long term because it's too much work to get around her overprotective Clan family. She is also battling her own personal demons and has a hefty dose of self-doubt. Both of these characters had facets of their personalities that surprised me. I had developed misconceptions about who they were based on the glimpses of them in the previous books, but I was totally off. Rounding out this duo is the adorable Breena, the 2 year old daughter of Carson, adding some fatherly devotion with his Alpha male persona. Who can deny how attractive amazing single dads can be? I can't.
This story is more than just the amazing characters, though. There are secrets, questions of loyalty, guilty feelings, danger, insecurities, and the sexy scenes between these two. The emotions are running high, the heat index is off the chart, and the HEA melted my heart. I've loved every book in this series (so far) and I hope there will be more, Lachlan specifically, but this one really touched my heart.
Normally this isn't something I would add, but I've seen a lot of reviews where a reader will pick up a book, claim they didn't know what type of story it is, and then give it a bad review. For that reason, I'm going to stress the fact that there is some slight violence (hello, Mafia Romance) and some sexy spanking scenes. I wouldn't categorize this one as a Dark Romance but it's not a sweet romance. It's a well written, moving, sexy romance between consenting adults who live on the fringe of lawfulness.
Will the past drive too much of a wedge between this new love?
Carson is the fourth book in the Dangerous Doms series. It could be read as a stand alone, but there are references to previous books. Carson is bent on revenge, but when Megan shows up on his radar, he can’t help but feel the connection. There’s secrets between them, though, life endangering ones at that. Will Carson and Megan have their own chance at a future together, or will the past drive too big of a wedge between them?
Oh my goodness, I could not put this book down once I started it! Megan and Carson were so full of heat and sweetness, steam and love, and there’s secrets and danger and the cutest little girl! I really enjoyed reading this book and these characters! Megan was a contradiction of sweet with a big heart for those around her, and yet she was fiercely independent. She was bold and went after what she wanted, yet lacked self confidence. I loved her mental shift during this book. I absolutely adored Megan’s comparison of Carson to Clark Kent - all buttoned up, slightly a professor style look, then boom! Superman to the rescue of Megan, who finds herself in all sorts of trouble! But I also loved Carson’s softer sides, with his daughter and with Megan. He’s completely dominant, but willing to risk it all to protect those he loves. Phew, what a hunk of a man to swoon over! They were so good together, with lots of chemistry, lots of steamy scenes, and they both fought so hard for love. These men aren’t “good” in the traditional sense, but they have their own honor and codes that they follow, and I don’t think you’d find a more protective bunch. My heart takes a decadent dive when it comes to Ms. Henry’s books, and Carson and Megan might be my new favorite couple!
What a great addition to the Dangerous Doms series! I have been waiting for Carson's book, mainly because I love the nerdy hacker alpha types. Something about the ability to use their minds is just appealing to me. Carson has had it tough. His wife taken too early, leaving him with is adorable daughter has left him grieving way too long. When Megan comes along and begins to warm his heart again, its not easy to take that plunge again. Megan is cautious of her attraction to Carson. Being Megan's friend has definitely made things a little awkward, but now is the time to find out where it could lead. Will they find their happily ever after? Jane Henry takes us into their story wondering this. Will they find their happiness? But there is so much more! Twists, turns, secrets, and revelations all lead to a surprise ending that will shock you! I love Carson. His dangerous side is just as appealing as his computer skills, as we know he will do anything to keep his women safe. I love that Megan is the perfect model type, curvy and almost 30 makes her real. And I absolutely love getting to see all the others come together in this story, showing the not only the strength of clan, but the love they have for each other. Each story gets better and I can't wait for Lachlan!
Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross continue their fabulous Irish brogues bringing these characters to life. Wen is fantastic, keeping all the men consistent while using the the accent from book to book. It makes the listen flow and easy to follow. Plus his voice is perfect for these alpha, domineering men. Kai continues her wonderful voices for the women, each their own personality and fitting the character to perfection. I love this team, their chemistry shining through the narration and making the listen amazing.
Carson Flynn is a smart man that doesn’t look anything like a member of the Clan. He is a single father, raising his little girl on his own since his girlfriend died in a car accident. He is the accountant for the Clan, but he is so much more, and no one would know it by looking at him.
Megan is the cousin to the McCarthy Clan and is protected by family. She was raised with them and knows they have their way of life, but it’s not in her face and she can deny it mentally because of that. She has a weakness for single fathers and when she sees Carson with Breena, she knows that she has lost herself to that weakness.
Carson and Megan have been around each other for years, but it’s almost as if neither one of them has noticed the other until now. Carson has always been a quiet, reserved man but now another side of him has surfaced and there is only member of the Clan that knows what’s going on with Carson and what he is up to. His dark side has surfaced, and he needs to keep Megan protected and safe from the O’Gregor Clan. He’s trying to figure out what happened to his girlfriend, Eve.
I love this series and I believe Carson is probably my favorite so far. Carson is dark and broody, smart and sexy! If you like books with dark, broody, smart, sexy men, then you will love Carson. The McCarthy Clan men are dangerous, dark, and loyal to the Clan. I give this story a 5-star review and highly recommend it to readers. There will be family secrets revealed. The women of the McCarthy Clan are strong, sassy, and keep their men on their toes all the time. I love the women as much as the men in this series. I cannot wait for Lachlan’s story.
Carson is the fourth book of the Dangerous Doms – A Dark Irish Mafia Romance, yet it reads as a standalone. Yes, these two characters are in the previous books, you don't need to read those books to love this relationship. Ms. Jane Henry has done it again. This book is full of kinky passion, danger, secrets, and betrayal.
Carson is the accountant/computer hacker for the family. He is dealing with the death of his wife and the mystery that surrounds it. He is broody, a sexy dominate inside and out of the bedroom, and loyal. He is a great father, doing what he can as a single parent, his love for his daughter will tug on your heart.
Megan is the cousin of the McCarthy brothers. She is a strong-willed woman, with a quick-witted mind, loves and hates the restrictions put on her by her family, and is afraid of being an old spinster. She dreams of a man with a little kink. Carson’s late wife, Eve, was her good friend. Megan has been secretly attracted to Carson and he finally notices her. What starts out as a one-night stand quickly turns into the next morning, and before they know it, they are an item. What will the brothers say? Will they allow this relationship?
There are still secrets surrounding Eve’s death and past. Will they find the answers they are looking for?
From the first chapter I became invested in these two realistic and fully developed characters. Ms. Henry has a way of writing that reader feels they are part of the story. Feeling all the emotions the characters feel, you can smell the salt air from the ocean. This is a must read!
I received a complimentary copy of this book and happy to leave a review.
Carson and Megan's story is a little different from the others in this series so far. It's not as dark and the kink is lighter, mainly spanking. The story is fast paced and there are steamy scenes.
Carson works for the Clan (cooking the books and hacking) and Megan is a cousin to the McCarthy brothers. Carson is a single dad to his little girl, Brenna, he was married to Eve who died in a car crash but Carson believes she was murdered he is hell bent on revenge for his wife's death and is still grieving. He is devoted to his daughter, so much so that he anti-social to a degree.
Megan is mentioned fairly frequently in other books in this series, she is older (30) and was best friends with Eve, and has crushed on Carson for a long time, before Eve died. She wants nothing more than to be able to heal Carson, fix his grief over Eve. They have a strong connection, but of course Carson feels guilty of his budding relationship with Megan, but is unable to pull away as he feels he can be himself with her, showing her his strong dominant side, which he was unable to do with his wife.
Megan is a feisty character, resentful of the way the men of the Clan are over protective of their women, she hates the fact that she is supposed to have a guard with her at all times, and goes out of her way to be on her own. Of course this gets her into trouble and Carson loves nothing more than to discipline her with spanking, which she loves.
Of course there is trouble with Carson investigating his wife's death and the Clan need to step in before a war breaks out with a rival clan. This was a good read with some drama and suspense, some light BDSM with the spanking.
Great mafia love story. Carson is treated like one of the family and Megan is one of the family. They both know the rules, but they can't keep their hands off each other.
Carson has lost his wife and has retreated into himself. He takes care of his little daughter and grieves. When he gets a hint that another family may be responsible for his wife's death, he vows revenge. As he carefully orchestrates the downfall of his enemy he suddenly finds himself distracted. Megan is a cousin to the McCarthy brothers and he has always known her, so why does it seem like he is just now noticing her? Her lush body draws him in and when she gives a clue that she just might like his kind of kink, he has to have her just once.
Megan is tired of being alone. Not that she doesn't have friends and family, but she needs a man. Not just any man, she is lusting after Carson. Of course she is doing so in private because not only had he lost his wife, who was her friend, but he is a Clan member and her overprotective cousins would not take it well. But she is ready to experience something other than vanilla sex and has a feeling Carson is just the man to help her out. Surely they can manage to have a one-night stand and not get caught.
I am sure you can guess that one night has not going to be enough for either of them. There will be plenty of Clan drama to keep the story moving and plenty of kink to make you sweat. Enjoy
I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.
I volunrarily reviewed a copy of "CARSON" I thoroughly enjoyed this book Jane Henry did a terrific job writing full of suspense, intrigue, angst, danger, violence, very hot erotic steamy light BDSM scenes, secrets, loss, grief, twists you didn't see coming. McCarthy Clan brotherhood is Irish Mafia with a rival Mafia Clan O'Gregor's who run the seedy part of Stone City Carson is a member of the Clan and he wants revenge for his wife Eve's death which he thinks their responsible. Carson Flynn single father to an adorable little girl Breena he's at the cemetery when Megan shows up unprotected with all his grief he never really noticed her until that night she was cousin to Leader of McCarthy Clan Keenan, Cormac & Nolan she knows what their all about growing up with them. Megan and Carson sneak around trying to avoid her cousins from knowing their together I really liked how he made he feel saying she was beautiful every part of her she had body issues remarks made by other men wanted to have sex under the covers and in the dark he told her no and to not say anything negative about her body or he'd punished her. I definitely recommend to get this book I loved the chemistry between Carson and Megan they pulled at heart strings and adorable little Breena the love he showed her and how be was with her was so endearing. So much happens in this book secrets are revealed a war almost takes place with the rival Mafia Clan O'Gregor's it's a must have & won't disappoint the whole series is addicting I can't wait for next book "Lachlan & Fiona's" story.
Nerdy Bookkeeper + Independent Nurse = A Must Read Love Story
Carson is the latest book in Jane Henry’s Dangerous Doms Series. It is A Dark Irish Mafia Romance. Carson and Megan were secondary characters in the previous books. It is wonderful to see that they get their own story. I was captivated from the beginning, and I could not put it down.
Carson is the bookkeeper for the McCarthy Clan. He is a quiet, sexy nerd. Carson is a single father of a little girl. He is very sweet, caring, intelligent, but he is hiding things and is trying to get revenge. Like the other men of the clan, Carson is dominant and loves a little kink.
Megan is the cousin of the McCarthy brothers. She is a nurse. Megan loves all family but thinks that they are overprotective of her. She is strong, kind, funny, and very independent. Megan likes to set the rules with men, because of her curves.
Carson and Megan are a very sweet couple. I love the interaction between them. Carson helps Megan bring out a different side of herself. Megan loves when Carson gets all bossy. These two have sizzling chemistry.
Carson by Jane Henry has love, revenge, family loyalty, secrets, intrigue, and an interesting twist. This story has an interesting storyline, well developed characters and is well written. I have absolutely loved all the books in this series. All these books can all be read as standalone. I highly recommend Carson.
