**UPDATE**
I was keeping an eye on this book because I wanted to see what other people thought of this book and to see if I had been harsh with my review as pending other responses I was going to re-read the book however I would now like to lower my rating to just 1 star for the following reasons:
1) I find it very annoying and misleading that an author would personally rate their own book 5 stars. I can’t imagine many famous authors or well written authors would go out their way to rate their own book to make it seem better than what it is.
2) Having looked through reviews for previous books I believe that the author is getting friends and family to higher rate their books. One reviewer in particular that has rated this book with 5 stars with no review - having looked on their profile its strange to me that they have rated over 40 books with 4+ stars (majority of these books much more popular) yet have only left 2 ACTUAL worded reviews with one being a previous read this author has released = very odd.

So I finished reading this book late last night. I’m not going to lie it took me until about the 6th/7th chapter to get into the read and I really started to enjoy it but then within another few chapters down the line I was bored and not with it again as I was just following a typical storyline of this genre.

It is really sad because I feel that these books and storyline could have so much potential but it really felt that the writing had been rushed and in all honestly it felt like the author had been become bored themselves with the story and just wanted it finished.

Jaycen has so much potential to be a girl that all teenage/young adult age girls could really start to like as a character but I don’t feel that she has been developed and in some chapters becomes quite irritating and typical. My friend has also recently starting reading this book after hyping about and being a fan of the previous books this author has released, but she has also said the same so far about this book (well where she has read up to)

I am really hoping that the author comes up with different ideas and or genres to write towards because I one hundred percent can see that the author has amazing amazing ideas but is struggling to get them down into an enjoyable storyline.

If you like an easy read such as when you get into bed or lounging around then this is great!!! But for those who really want to get into a book and enjoy the characters then I would give this a miss.

I would have to agree with Impossible Username, although I agree with some aspects of a certain review I do find it a little bit on the harsher side as you can very clearly see the author is passionate about what she does.

The book did start extremely slow and throughout the book I felt like there were a couple of ‘filler chapters’ whereby the author didn’t really know what to say, where to take the book so mumbled on a little bit making the chapters feel a bit rushed and boring HOWEVER majority of the book was written well and finally the characters seemed to have progressed a little bit more since the previous book.

What would be fantastic is for the author to really push the relationship aspects of her books. All of them seem very ‘damsel in distress, he swoops in, she can’t be without him etc etc’ .. the relationship really needs to mature and become more adult like.

I hope the author continues to write but before starting a new book I think she needs to sit and plan out what is going to happen in the book from start to end and maybe get some guidance and advice about how to write a relationship to make it more mature instead of childish and giddish .. also don’t take so long to follow up a book!!

This is an easy read so I would recommend ***

‼️RELEASE DAY‼️

The first series by this author is one of my favourite supernatural book series. The Seraphim Series sets the scene in a world full of magic amd wonder.
This series is a spin off of the Seraphim Series but can be read as a stand alone series.

This book continues to follow Jaycen through her battles, as she tries to figure out the mystery of her magic and how to control it.

Jaycen has been through so much and I like that through the books you are continuously seeing her character grow, develop and mature.

Thornton is dreamy, his commitment and and solid belief in Jaycen is heart warming. And also he's rich and hot 😉.

This book did not disappoint, as with all of her other books Sophia Stafford manages to create characters that you love and the story just continues to pull you deeper the more you read. These books really do pull you through the emotions, you become fully invested in the characters and their lives.

I would recommend reading the Seraphim Series because the characters really are amazing and I feel that they just add another layer to Jaycens story ☺️

Found this an easy read .
Whilst there are elements of other reviews that speak truth I think there are some harsh takes on the book.

I hope the author does a third book- but doesn’t take as long to publish. It would be nice to see how this series wraps up as I have followed from near the beginning.

The romantic relationship needs further developing and passion but hopefully this will come with the renewed vigour of the lead character in the next book. Jaycen is a character that has potential to stand apart if she doesn’t moan about her misfortune all of the time.
