Immortal Stream: Children of the Gods #2

The God of Perfect Radiance

Rate this book
Lena’s made it through her first year with the Olympians. No really, she’s lived for an entire year! This is no small feat considering their short temper, reaction first and be-damned with consequences attitude, and instantaneous fiery jealousy.

It’s summertime and the godlings take their mortals to their islands within the Bermuda Triangle: Endless white sandy beaches, perfect weather, and a villa that is in no small way a massive resort. Of course, that’s not all they find. Archangels visit, there’s a cotillion scheduled, and wonderful new friends to be made from dozens of different pantheons. It’s all bliss and fun in the sun.

That is, until the attacks start. And once again, Lena seems to be the target. If that wasn’t enough, their in-house medically inclined god is positive Lena’s died like three times now. Yet, she lives and heals nearly as quickly as a god.

As they struggle to figure out what Lena is, their attackers are eating through every kind of weapon-proof armor Ares gives her. They’re switching armor so those that are labeled as a mortal is in fact a god. AND, they’re reproducing Zeus’s lightning bolt as weapons, able to be wielded by mere mortals. When a thing from Hell tries to kill Lena, they are sure Lucifer is behind it.

**This is a full-length, mature high school/new adult paranormal romance (and a budding reverse harem) with development of a variety of different sexual orientations and situations that will be further expanded on and explored as the series unfolds. This book contains friendship, betrayal, battles with swords and fire, abuse, magic, gods, angels, jealousy, and a smidgen of MM. There is alluded to not fully consensual sex that the reader might have missed from book 1. This is book 2 in the series. The first three books are an origin story for the FMC. You may not see the harem for several books, but do not fret! It’s definitely coming. There will not always be a happy ending for many characters. Should not be read as a stand alone and does not end with a cliffhanger but does leave unresolved plot points as well as ending the scene where book 3 starts.

But it’s not all fun in the sun and death-defying adventures. For the first part of the summer, Lena is riddled with strange bouts of illnesses that leave the gods stumped. When the truth is finally revealed, Lena is devastated. Let’s not even talk about her romantic life!

Crea lives in upstate New York with her dog and husband. She has been writing since grade school, when her second grade teacher had her class keep writing journals. She has a habit of creating secondary, and often time tertiary, characters that take over her stories. When she can't fall asleep at night, she thinks up new scenes for her characters to act out. This, of course, is how most of her meant-to-be-thrown-away characters tend to end up front and center - and utterly swoon-worthy! Don't ask her how many book boyfriends she has...

When not writing, Crea is an avid reader. Her TBR pile is several hundred books high (don't even look at her kindle wish list or the unread books on her tablet). Sometimes, she enjoys crafting; sometimes, exploring nature; sometimes, traveling. Mostly, she enjoys putting her characters on paper and breathing life into them. Oh, and sleeping. Crea loves to sleep!

You ever get so invested in characters that you yelling at the book "What are you thinking", yeah that was me. Not only are we still following Lena but now we are learning more about Yndea; Lena's BFF. This one might be a tough cookie but boy does she not make good decisions.
I am loving that Lena is now on the right path of who she is and getting back in touch with her Me; doodling and humming and remembering how to fall in love the right way.
Now I am curious how this "talk" is going to go and which God(s) will be involved.

Have you ever gotten shown a clue in a book and begin to start yelling at the characters when they don’t pick up on it? That was me plenty of times in this book. Come on, you are gods! You should be able to catch these hints, especially if many of you are questioning who or what the “human” girl you are hanging out with is. It’s infuriating yet at the same time it definitely keeps you on your toes throughout the book as you put together pieces of the puzzles faster than the main characters do. Then you wait for the moment in the series where they finally get on the same page as you and you smirk and tell them that if they only listened to the information they were given, they wouldn’t have been walking around clueless for a book or two. Yeesh. I know I cannot be the only reader who talks to the characters in books. Apart from that, having Yndea, Lena’s bff, incorporated into this book sure made things interesting...not that it wasn’t interesting before, but she added a little something something to the whole group. I enjoyed getting to know her as a character and see how much of a game changer she was as she made waves in the group of the gods, questioning and arguing with them when no one else would even attempt to do so. With their stupid little rules, she was the only one really standing up for Lena when it truly mattered. She was the sole person that could actually make a difference in the craziness surrounding Lena. I feel like compared to the first book, this one had much more going on, as it focused on Lena and her constantly being the target for many different attacks and manipulations. Who even cares that she was blacked out unconscious multiple times in this book or fighting some extreme form of depression?! To me, those down times really start to make you question her resilience and ability to take more damage than she should be able to and they also bring to light how important she is to these gods. Not even just the main ones who maybe, maybe not will be in the future harem, but the group as a whole. Because during those times, even if they couldn’t make much of a difference in her recovery, they still popped their heads in to see how she was doing. That just tells you something. For a group of gods who never express any emotion other than anger, jealousy, and love, for them to actually care for someone--for real and not just going through the motions to appease--that just proves how much of an effect Lena has the gods around her, how important she truly is. Now, let’s hopefully find out some more information on the reasoning behind this in book three!

This story is so intriguing because of all the gods and the relationships between all of them. It’s a lot but in a good way. I’m so much more invested in the story now wanting to know what’s going on with Lena and possibly Yndea. God of Perfect Radiance kept me captivated with all the action and people out to get Lena. From the first book, I had to know what happens with Shant and I’m not disappointed. What I AM disappointed in is seeing a specific god you want to have feelings for Lena not exactly play out that way. I know it’s too early to really tell who she’s going to end up with. There may have been a few times where I just wanted to stop reading because I didn’t want to see the god’s attention elsewhere. Lol! And along with that I’m not exactly a fan of Yndea. I understand her friendship with Lena but I’m not a huge fan of the split POV’s. I’m biased because I picked my favorites from the first book and now some of these gods are giving Yndea attention over Lena. It’s hard because I’m used to reading a reverse harem but just from the main characters POV and possibly the men. BUT the advantage of having Lena’s and Yndea’s is we get more background information on the gods and see different events happen from another perspective. All I know is that the entire time I read this book, I kept thinking about who could be part of Lena’s harem. I cannot wait for the next book to see what happens! There were so many moments that left you wondering what a certain look meant or what someone saw that didn’t get explained much. The story is only going to get more interesting as we learn more about Lena!

The Gods of Perfect Radiance by Crea Reitan is the second book in the Children of the gods series. It's a new adult reverse harem paranormal romance story. There may not be a harem for the first few book because they are more of an origin story to the FMC.

I can't wait to see the harem and who all end up in it. I have so many theories, and I'm so excited. I have few hopes so far, who are gonna be in it.

This book is not standalone. You should read the previous book first, and read this one before reading the next books.

There are many twists and turns here, and the plot kept me on the edge of my seat while reading. I'm loving all the gods in this book and how the mythology is woven into this story.

I'm so excited for the next book and I can't wait to see what happens in that one. So gonna read that one.

I received a free ARC copy of this book, and I am voluntarily leaving a review. All opinions are my own.

This one was really good! Full of drama and action, and, obviously, lots of mystery and more questions. I liked this one better than the first one, I think it was more interesting, and you start getting answers, even though there's still a lot to discover. I think Lena matured a lot, not only in her skills but as a person, she now acts like a woman, a warrior, instead of a spoiled teenager. I also feel that we now know Yndea a little better, she's not just Lena's best friend, she's tough and super protective of Lena, wich i find really cute, specially when she kicks some gods ass in her defense. And I really want her and Kellee to work out, he's one of my favorite Gods. I also love Delete, he's very mysterious, in a dark, scary but sexy as hell way. I'm really excited for the games, can't wait to know what drama Lena's going to be involved in next ♥️

This was a good continuation from book one. Though I will say I was a bit confused when I started the book as to where we were in the timeline compared to the ending of book one.
I really enjoyed reading Lena really start to become who she’s supposed to be. And let me say THANK GOD a certain someone is out of the picture, I wasn’t really feeling the book with that relationship going. I enjoyed reading Yndeas perspective, gives a little more wholesomeness to the book.
There were lots of twists and turns and moments of “whaaaat”.
Even though this book still isn’t as steamy as I’m used to, I’m okay with it because I was enthralled with the storyline, and that’s a really great aspect to see in Creas books that some authors don’t have. A lot of authors are all about the hot and heavy and some plot, and it’s definitely not the case here. I’m left wondering who all (other than Mady and Atti) are going to be with Lena. I have my guesses, but at the same time I’m waiting to see the catch! Really can’t wait for book 3

The Sins may be dead but that doesn’t mean Lena is safe. Spending the summer with her gods at their island in the Bermuda Triangle and now her best friend Yndy has joined her in the immortal stream everything seems perfect but Lena can’t shake the feeling something is wrong. As Secrets are revealed and there are multiple serious attempts on Lenas life we start to wonder if there is more to Lena than first seemed.

This book is fast paced with some complicated information so pay attention, If you haven’t read the first one then your going to end up lost, it’s one of the only downsides to dealing with gods and their complicated relationships. There are a few battles but the gore is kept to a minimum considering people are getting their heads chopped off and what not.
The chapters alternate mostly between Lena and Yndy getting a look at both girls and their relationships with the gods, we also start to see the first seeds of the Harem being planted and I’ve got a feeling it’s going to get messy first *rubs hands gleefully*

Lena’s rise

In the start of this book it was a little jump from the end of the last and a bit back and forth. The book gets better as you go and has twists. But leaves you on a cliffhanger. It’s almost a 4 star book. I just feet like we missed a lot in the time hop from book one to book 2. However I’m looking forward to book three as I think that’s where it will pick up and we will get blasted with everything we want.

Superb next in series, glued to the page with the excellent storyline which is well executed and the colourful and diverse cast of characters I was lost in the story and quite frankly didn’t want to be found until I had finished. So excited for the next in series

A great continuation of Lena’s story. This story will enchant you from the first page and the twists and turns will keep your interest throughout the book. Love all the gods, the split POV and not knowing exactly who will be apart of her harem. Eagerly awaiting the next book!

I am loving all the different relationships that happening in this book! I’m hopeful that book 3 will hold some revelations as to what Lena is and I’m hoping it’s something that’ll really put the arrogant gods in their places. Even the nice Gods are still difficult to like sometimes being that they bed-hop all over and don’t seem to form real attachments. I’m so glad Shant is gone, good riddance! Olivia too. There’s a lot of twists and turns that keep you on your toes!

This book, from the second I started reading I could not put it down and carried it everywhere that I could until the last page was read. It moves along at the perfect speed for reading, not too fast or too slow/ The characters are amazing and you feel as though you know them and you want to be there for them. The story grabs you and keeps your interest from beginning to end. This book is a must read, so read it now.

Great book 2, it answered some questions from Book 1 but created so many more from Book 2. This seems like a big puzzle which I love. What does Azarael see in Lena, what is the connection with Delete? I totally did not see some of the things that happened in book 2, totally threw me for a loop. Really love the friendship between Lena and Yndea it is unique but I think it can be problematic in the future if they aren't being truthful with each other. I am so enamored to figure out what Lena is and was so curious to see how Dev responded to her, I just wish the gods would see the benefit in truthfulness as mortals do. Keep the interesting books coming Crea Reitan!

This story is so fascinating! All the characters come together to create this amazing story with all these different relationships while we the readers are becoming invested in what happens next. I was engrossed in this book as soon as I started reading and each character captivated my attention. I love Lena and we get more information about her but now we also get to see a bit of Yndea. Definitely a slow burn but this build up is definitely worth the read as we get all the inside information before the harem is built. Love it! Can’t wait for the next book! 💜🖤

This was a great read and if it hadn't been for other commitments I would have 10/10 been sucked into the immortal streams world.

The story grips you and holds you. Some questions are answered and some are left for the next book. The ending sets up for book 3 and I can't wait to read more

I love Lena's and Yndea's characters and their relationships with the Godlings. I've also enjoyed watching them grow and how far they've come.

I look forward to book 3 😁😍

So, second book in the Immortal Stream series, and I am as hooked as I was with the first, if not more. I'm really invested in this series.

Now, the story finally took a turn, I did want from the start. The Shant issue was finally addressed and solved. Funnily, I was right that it had something to do with the Brecca story. Not exactly the way I had thought it had to do with all his doing, but still partly right. And I don't have any sympathy left for him.

At first, I thought he did what he did, because maybe he couldn't help himself. But after what he did and tried, there are no redeeming qualities. Though, he truly acted like the gods from all the Greek mythology. It was just petty…

I do love Yndea, and how fierce and loyal she acted where Lena was concerned. Though, I'm not happy with the Delete and Kellee part. And that she isn't honest with her own feelings toward Lena. Same with Lena in book one, I'm annoyed when any form of denial and ignoring facts. Yndea knew what she wanted and didn't go through with it, just because she doesn't want to disappoint Lena. Sure, I get it, and I'm sad for her, considering her family situation. But she is self-sabotaging herself.

And Lena shouldn't even meddle with that at all. I get it, she wants her friend happy, but pushing people together, who clearly aren't interested in each other, is wrong.

Otherwise, I still love those characters and hope Lena finds her footing in the god world and the lifestyle. I'm glad, too, that finally something happened in this story in the smut section. Not much and mostly it's from Yndy plot, but it is there.

I still love Atti and Mady and so on. Though, I don't really understand why Atti is so passive with Lena. Sure, he was afraid because of the phektyn part, I think. And I try to figure out the part with Delete. Because I really loved him as a character and the connection he has with Lena. I still hope something more will come out of it. Hopefully soon?

We'll see. Of course, there are new riddles to contend with. Book 3 hopefully provides some answers on that front! 😁 I'm definitely there for the ride.

I knew I didn’t like Shant for good reasons.

Another exciting book under this author’s belt. I admit that in book 1, I was somewhat overwhelmed with all the different characters in the beginning. The various relationships Lena has developed and nurtured through book 1 and this book really helped me distinguish the characters more clearly.

Once again, I am blown away by the complexity and intricate details this author is able to create in her stories. I can easily picture all the characters and each scene as I read it. Nothing ever felt dull or shallow but rather complex and elaborate.

I knew I had valid reasons for my dislike of Shant. One thing the author stresses in the blurb that I want to stress again is the mentality of Gods when compared to mortals. They are selfish and have little thought of others so yes, they are a promiscuous bunch so while I had hopes of certain characters ending up in Lena’s harem later, they may be with other females currently. There isn’t any cheating done on Lena so far, unless you want to include that poor excuse of a man but he isn’t even on Lena’s radar anymore. Can’t go into details because, you know, spoilers and such.

While I loved the idea of Lena having her best friend in the steam with her, Yndea irritated me at times. As silly as it sounds, I get somewhat jealous when another female character steals some of the spotlight from the main female or when she is with someone I want to end up in the harem. I’m selfish and I usually want every walking c**k included in said harem. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Yndea had some questionable decisions like what she decided in the end, what in the world is this chick thinking?!?! She will end up heartbroken…I can see it already.

I am eager to get started on book 3 so I can see Yndea’s disaster unfold, Lena’s relationships grow, to finally read everyone’s epiphany when they discover Lena’s origins, and hopefully be introduced to more gods.

I keep going up and down with this book mainly because of the characters! I either love them or really really want to hit them... All... The... Time!
Which also means it's an amazing book with really good characterisation!
But also, can Yndea stop being so blind???? I love her except for Delete (who I also love) , can she just do what she wants PLEEEEAAASEEE

What?

Ok so this book wasn’t as confusing as the first. But the first half seemed to be about her trying not to die because of her ex. Then a huge fight when she finds out who is trying to kill her. And now her bestie what’s to get knocked up by someone who doesn’t care and ending what was a good thing. I’m so confused.

lots of action

Spice: 2/5

Some areas are very childish. I wish our FMC and her BFF were more of a badass and less likely to act like immature girls. The story is a lot more clear than the first book and very captivating

This book is written in the first person and is dual POV, told from the perspective of the two main FMCs Lena and Yndea. This book again is slow burn but adds a low level of spice which was absent in the first book. I really enjoyed having the dual POV in this book, I liked being able to see some things from a different perspective and it also made me question some things I thought I knew. I also liked the mystery surrounding Lena’s origins that became more apparent in this book, which added another layer to the story telling. I also loved that karma caught up with a certain character who I disliked in the first book and just became horrid in this one. Seeing him get his comeuppance and especially who it came from was just brilliant. Overall, I enjoyed this book far more than the first and I’m looking forward to seeing what happens in the next book and if any of the lingering questions are answered.
