Marrying My Best Friend's BFF

Rate this book
I’m THAT guy…

The one that rejected his best friend and broke her heart on national television—then secretly fell in love with HER best friend, got her pregnant...and took off.

Before you write me off and think I’m just another heartless dick,
My best friend got her happily ever after….with my brother.

I’ve always been the love ‘em and leave ‘em type.
There’s no point in denying it.
I’m the guy that you warned your girlfriends would break their heart.

But I don’t want that life anymore.
I, Preston Young, want a happily ever after.
The kick you in the gut kind of love that makes you act like an idiot and annoy everyone with your sickly cute nicknames.

And the woman I want it with…well, that’s where the shit hit the fan.

First, they introduced me to Riley.
And when I tell you she’s got IT, I’m talking knock you on your ass, wipe the drool off your chin IT.
Spontaneous, confident, long tan legs I want to wrap around my head and a mouth I can’t seem to resist.

And then, they dropped the hammer.
“I’m only going to say this once, so pay attention. Riley is off-limits.”
You’ve got to be f-ing kidding me.

You think I listened?
Hell, I tried to be good…but like I said earlier, she’s pregnant.

My future with Riley is all that matters and I only have one chance to make things right.

Now if I can just convince this tenacious woman I’m worth a damn chance.

I read an ARC copy of this.

This was a good read. Riley and Preston are Piper's best friends. They end up having a relationship but he ends it all of a sudden. On top of that she ends up with a surprise. Thankfully in the end everything works out for them and they get their happy ending.

It was fine until it wasn’t. This is more HFN instead of HEA

I’m sorry but I find it so hard to believe that Preston literally just went back and forth and finally finds himself ready to commit. They’re going to be the worst married couple and frankly if I were Riley I would have never taken him back. Not after the stunt he just pulled. Regardless if he is the father, him breaking things off, then wanting her back, then running off after finding out she’s pregnant, then forcing his way back in her life without so much as giving her a choice SCREAMS red flag. I had such high hopes for Riley as strong, independent female character up until the moment she took him back in the end without so much as a grovel. He literally made all her fears come true and yet she was willing to just lie down and get trampled even welcoming him with open arms.

After reaching that point, I didn’t even bother reading the rest properly and just skimmed because the end was already predictable. A cheesy, cliché and unoriginal proposal from an undesirable and selfish excuse of a male lead. Then cue the wedding bells, yada yada yada. The “climax and resolution,” if you can even call it that, was one big eye roll. When you write in dumb decisions you get an even dumber ending.

After Calvin and Piper, Preston and Riley’s story just pales in comparison. It’s weak, unrealistic and the two leads are forgettable. Much like spots on a leopard, people hardly ever change especially in the short span of time that Preston did. It’s only a matter of time before Preston’s dream comes true and both are divorced with kids. He should have just stayed away. Such potential this story had but ultimately was a letdown.

Lessons on How to Become a Responsible Adult Delivered with Love

Preston Young has always been a physically attractive male. From high school through college, the athlete displayed his beautiful body and athleticism on the field and his natural power as a chick magnet every where he went. And, always a part of his orbit, but not his romantic view was his across the street neighbor, best friend and general partner in crime, Piper Montgomery. But with the passage of time, Piper’s feelings for Preston had morphed into romantic love while his feelings for her where still in the “friend zone.”

So, when Piper convinced Preston to accompany her to the TV studio of “Reveal Your Secret”, luring him with the false claim that the show’s purpose was to promote “jobs you never knew you wanted” ---which certainly described Preston’s job as a statistician for the Cubs—he agreed to accompany her. But, when Piper shared her secret of her romantic love for Preston with the studio audience—and eventually whole TV viewing audience—greater Chicago—everything fell apart. Preston did not confess his love as Piper had anticipated. Rather, he walked off the TV set and out of the studio, telling her to take a taxi home, and once more leaving Piper hurt and tearful!

And, as in the past Calvin, the older brother, was there with his support and comfort, attempting to dry Piper’s tears and to calm her aching heart. But this time, rather than wasting her tears and energy on Preston, a man who is too afraid to accept her love, she finally noticed the man whose heart she had already owned—Preston’s steady, responsible older brother, Calvin. So, unfortunately for Preston, Piper has finally moved on—with his brother. Now, the sight of her in Cal’s arms, pregnant with his brother’s baby, is eating at Preston as he contemplates life without his best friend. He now recognizes his need to finally grow up and be a real adult, not just a fool always on the hunt for the next part, good time, and one-night-stand.

Preston realizes that the first act of being an adult is to accept that Cal and Piper are a couple—that they are starting a family—they are having a baby. And, they are offering him the opportunity to be a part of their new life as an adult with adult responsibilities—they have asked him to be the godfather for their unborn child. Acting as his co-godparent, Piper has asked Riley, her best female friend, to serve as her unborn child’s godmother. And, with his first meeting of Riley, Preston is overwhelmed—Riley is a dream of chocolate brown eyes and long dark hair. Riley might be a way to move forward into the new territory of not being the most important man in Piper’s life. So, it is Riley who not only changes Preston’s frown to a smile, but she also rocks his world, offering him a new vision of what adult love can be.

Marrying My Best Friends BFF continues the story of two families united in friendship, proximity, and love, following the loves and friendships of the Young brothers. The novel weaves a strong storyline with interesting characters and electrifying emotional connections. While first novel provided the romantic developments of a family with secrets and unresolved relationships that needed to be addressed to bring happiness and healing to all members of the family, each novel can be read independently. But the Montgomery’s and Young's are so engaging that the reader will want to know each member and his story.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review ARCS, but I enjoyed the reading experience so much that I bought a copy for my "read-again" titles.

Alexis Winter has written a 5-star book. Preston's best friend is Piper and she is marrying his brother Calvin. He hears that they are meeting up with Piper's best friend Riley at their house he goes over to crash the dinner. He has an instant attraction to Riley. His brother pulls him off to the side and tells him to stay away from her. This is because of the way his relationships go. Piper and Calvin are going to have a baby and they want Riley and Preston to be the baby's godparents. Preston wants to get to know Riley so he asks her out to a baseball game. They have a great time together and agree to be friends. Riley is attracted to Preston but she knows he is off-limits because of Piper. The more time that Riley and Preston spend together, the more they fall for each other. They start dating but keep it a secret from Piper and Calvin. The day before Piper and Calvin's wedding, Preston is riding with them to Piper's home town and he tells them that he and Riley have been dating. They don't seem to upset over the news. Riley and Preston spend all their time together and things seem to be going well for them until Preston goes out with some of his buddies and they tell him he is not a long-term guy. He is not the type to ask permission to go out with his friends. That night he has a nightmare about his life with Riley. He breaks up with her. After their break-up, Riley finds out she is pregnant. She doesn't want to let Piper know, so she calls her mom and tells her. Her mom tells her that she doesn't have to do it alone, she can come back home and she would help her all she could. Riley thinks about this and decides to move back home. Piper comes over to talk to Riley and tells her that Preston wants her back. Riley said that if he did they he needed to come and tell her himself without Piper telling him to. While they are talking, there is a knock on her door. When she opens it, she is face to face with Preston. He asks "Can we talk?" Piper said "Of course you can. I"ll just leave." Riley opens the door wider so that Preston can come in. She asks "Preston, what are you doing here?" He tells her what he is feeling and when she doesn't say anything right away, he looks up and notices the boxes. He asks "What's all the boxes for?" "I'm moving back home." "Moving?" "Why?" Preston asks. Riley looks at Preston and said, "Because of the baby." Preston is shocked and he gets up and walks towards the door. "Preston?" Riley asks with confusion and he reaches for the knob. I'm sorry, Riley but I need to think about this and he leaves. Preston finds himself across the street from the park and he looks around. What he sees is all these couples with their kids and they all look happy with their lives. He thinks that if they can do it and be happy, "why can't he?" He goes back to Riley and just walks in and he sees her packing. He tells her that he is all in. She doesn't trust him with what he is saying.
Will Riley give Preston a second chance with her?
Can Preston prove to Riley that he meant what he said?
This was a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone.

Another great read from Alexis Winter! This is the second book in the Love You Forever Series, but can easily be read as a stand alone with no cliffhanger and a HEA, but of course you get so much more out of Preston’s transformation if you have read the first book in the series “The Wrong Brother”.

Preston was always the love them and leave them type of guy- but after being confronted by his best friend Piper, claiming she was in love with him- Preston started wondering if maybe it was time to grow up and attempt a real relationship. Of course by that time, Piper had fallen in love with Preston’s brother and they were engaged with a baby on the way so Preston had no other choice but to move on. With the news of the baby Piper was naming Preston as the godfather and Riley, her other best friend and coworker as godmother. After meeting at a family dinner, Preston and Riley realize that they have this instant connection and so many of the same interests. Riley isn’t sure that they should start something only to have it end badly and then have to constantly see each other at events for their godchild. As hard as they try, they cannot fight this attraction to one another and decide to give a relationship a chance- but taking it slowly since Preston has never had a real relationship ever. Even with everything going perfect, Preston begins to doubt if he can actually stay in a relationship long term leaving Riley broken hearted with a secret.

I loved this story! I’d been impatiently waiting for Preston and Riley’s story since the end of Piper and Calvin’s book. Preston’s growth from being immature, selfish and completely avoiding all things relationship to basically being a picture perfect boyfriend was amazing. Of course he hit some bumps along the way but his devotion to Riley and her happiness was adorable. Riley of course being the female version of Preston knew what she was stacked against and was smart to try to keep their relationship platonic at first but then to take it slow physically. I loved the slow burn of their relationship. I loved how Piper was rooting for them to get together basically the entire time as well! She knew just how perfect Riley and Preston were for each other.

If you've read the first book in the series (Wrong Brother), you know the storyline of this book and there are few surprises. That made it less engaging for me. I thought maybe there would be an unexpected plot twist but none came. Note that a few chapters are almost exact duplicates of chapters in the first book.

I was bothered by the same lazy writing I saw in the first book. There is way too much time in both books with the characters rationalizing their approach to relationships. It's a romance novel, show me how they feel. Further, there rationalizations are quite stupid. Your friendships WILL change if you marry. Maybe the fact that you're spending all your time with the new partner is a clue to this.

I can believe Preston and Riley could fall in love. But the way it came about including timing is not very believable. They both also seem to behave immaturely with odd decisions so I'm not sure this one can last. Rushing is not a great fit but since we're pregnant, let's go.

Then we have the oops pregnancies. Are these women not on the pill or some form of birth control? They are presented as characters who have sex easily and thus you'd expect them to use their own birth control. Yet, instead we keep seeing a reliance on a pull out method in these books and oops, it doesn't work. So I don't understand why this is happening. Do they want kids this soon? It didn't seem like it.

In this book, Riley takes a pregnancy test (1) sees its positive and calls her mom. She decides she's moving and immediately starts packing and applying for new jobs. Hello, wouldn't you confirm it before uplifting your life? Also, maybe you should think a little harder before deciding you're cutting the father out.

In addition, everything gets wrapped up too perfectly. Of course, their jobs let them telecommute. Getting married so quickly and having a baby is a non-issue. They can pull together a great wedding in a week and not only afford but find a big house just like that. Way too much fantasy in this book.

Great love story..
Loved reading this finding out how Preston went on with his life after Piper. When he met Riley I thought he was going to be his playboy self but he surprised me even though he was warned by Calvin to stay away from her he couldn't & Riley felt the same. It was great the way they both but sex on the back burner & became really good friends first then at the wedding they took their relationship to the next level & everything was perfect. They were really going to be together forever until he let his friends get into his head about how he doesn't do relationships he was the guy who always had a different woman & dumped Riley leaving her devestated. She'd decided to move back home to her mum after finding out she was pregnant as she'd need help with the baby but Piper had come round & told her Preston was sorry & wanted her back as he'd spent most of his time with her & Calvin & to give him a chance. When he turned up at her door admitting he loved her wanting a second chance whrn she told him about the baby he just got up & left her again. God I hated him & wanted to slap him for hurting her again & hoped that he would grow up &, act like a man for a change & give into his chance at a happy ever after with a family & white picket fence with Riley. I loved this book & it had me glued from the start.

After having read The Wrong Brother, the first book in the Love You Forever series. I knew I had this read this book, to know what happened with Preston.

Preston (Calvin’s younger brother) and Riley are Piper’s BFF and are introduced to each other in the first book, when they’re asked to be godparents to Calvin and Piper’s baby.

In this book we see their friendship take off and slow turn into more. You get to see a completely different side to Preston, than his usual womanizer ways.
Though the book was predictable (especially if you read The Wrong Brother), it was still a cute and sweet story.
Especially seeing Preston changing his playboy ways and realising that being in a relationship in love doesn’t mean it’s the end of the world.
Riley and Preston definitely made a cute couple and I loved that they let their friendship flourish slowly. Instead of jumping in headfirst without knowing each other well enough.
It was sweet seeing Riley bring out all these features in Preston, that you wouldn’t have expected. And they complimented each other so well.
I will say Preston did annoy me with his stupidity. And Riley for not fighting and giving up so easily. But without that drama, then the book wouldn’t have been able to be what it was, seeing as it helped make it better and bring it all together by the end.

Overall, a good light, fluffy, cheesy book that has a HEA. I would recommend, especially if you have already read The Wrong Brother!

Preston and Piper have been best friends forever, and now Piper is marrying Preston’s older brother, Calvin. She is also pregnant with their first child. Riley is Piper’s best friend as well as her maid of honor. Deciding they need godparents for their baby, Piper and Calvin ask Preston and Riley over for dinner. Preston accepts the responsibility of being godfather to the baby and Riley is also open to being the godmother. Preston is a playboy with a “love ‘em and leave ‘em” reputation, and he is warned off making any advances toward Riley, no ifs, ands, or buts! Piper doesn’t want her best friend to be hurt by her soon-to-be brother-in-law/best friend.

After their dinner, both Preston and Riley leave at the same time. Once they get to their cars, Preston asks Riley if she would like to grab a coffee and discuss their new responsibilities. They find themselves mutually attracted to each other and decide they can have a good time together with none the wiser. Sex is definitely off the table! But sometimes matters of the heart can’t be ignored, even though they both know that Preston has never made a commitment to any girl before. Relationships evolve......but sometimes they devolve as well.

Gotta read Preston and Riley's Story!

Another great book in this series! I can't wait until the others are released so I can keep going!
Alexis really knows how to write a book that'll pull you in with the characters she creates, so that you'll keep turning those pages for more.

Preston found something in his best friend Piper's BFF Riley that he never thought he would find. A connection with someone that goes much deeper than sex. But he was warned early on by his brother Calvin (who just so happens to be his best friend Piper's new fiance) to stay away from Riley. That his love em and leave em routine better not come into play around her.

But how can he stay away? After spending time with Riley he sees how special she is, and how much he really likes her. She makes him want to be the man he never thought he could be. She makes him feel different. Like she's everything he could ever need.

Riley sees a side of Preston unlike anything that Piper has ever described. He doesn't act at all like the player he's always been described as. It's like he's a totally different person when he's around her. Like she sees a side of him that no one else knows.

But will this thing they've found with each other last after it gets tested in more ways than one?...It's definitely worth the read to find out!

Loved loved loved!!!! A great book which doesn’t shock me in the least. I love reading books by Alexis Winter. Preston and Riley’s story is one for the books. Preston is a party boy one night stand type of guy. He seeks adventure and is a risk taker. A guy who never really plans on settling down. He don’t think he’s the type of guy who can commit to one person. He says what’s on his mind and don’t care what others think. Riley is also one who likes to have fun and doesn’t really do relationships either (at least not long term ones). She loves to dance and drink with the best of them and she’s always up for a challenge. When these two get thrown together as Godfather and Godmother of lil Mason (the baby of Calvin, Preston’s brother, and Piper, Preston & Riley’s BFF) what will happen??? Calvin has made it 100% clear that Riley is OFF LIMITS to Preston. But doesn’t Calvin know when you tell someone they can’t do something, it makes it that much harder to resist and makes you do it anyways. Preston and Piper become fast friends and the adventures begin. What happens when Preston can’t deal with his feelings and Riley has a secret she’s not sure Preston can handle??? Find out in this amazing read. It’s one you are gonna enjoy!!!!

I received this free eARC novel from the author. This is my honest review.

If you haven't read The WRONG Brother, I recommend starting with that one first! This is a spin-off novel with the brother that Piper didn't pick, and her best friend. Preston and Riley meet for the first time, even though they are best friends with Piper, and the attraction between the two fly off the charts.

But both are being cautious about starting a relationship because they don't want to make it awkward if things don't work out. Especially because they will be seeing each other with Piper in the mix.

I am on the fence about this book. I love that they connected right away, but I hated that they kept saying they would just be friends and then they were making out because they can't deny their attraction. Then when they decide to give it a go, they keep it a secret. I think I'm getting tired of secret relationship novels because things always get worse before the happily ever after. I just want the characters to do what they want to do and not keep it from their friends and family because that just seems like they have a reason to hide their feelings, and that's not the case.

I'm glad I got a chance to read this novel and I look forward to more by Alexis Winter.

Preston and Riley's story

Preston and Piper have been best friends all of their lives. Now that she is in love with Calvin, Preston's older brother, he feels left out. He wants what they have. He wants to find someone like Piper, to be a best friend, and share his enjoyment of life.
Riley has been Pipers best friend since her college days. They were to partners in crime. They have had great times together.
Now that Piper and Calvin are going to have a baby. They ask Riley to be the godmother. Preston is going to be the godfather.
Calvin warns him to keep his hands off.
Riley likes talking to Preston. They enjoy each other company. They go zip lining and other adventures. They keep things a secret but want to keep things going slow. No sex in the mix. Kisses and cuddling.
They want to make sure they are going to make a go of the relationship.
But they enjoy being together. They don't want Piper and Calvin to find out.
They are getting serious about their feelings, and Preston doesn't want to screw up.
They do have a problem, but can they work it out, or will Preston panic.
Great love story by Alexis Winter.
Her characters have some flaws, but she gets you to fall in love with them

I loved this book and I love this series. I fell in love with Preston in The Wrong Brother and I loved him even more in this book. We got to see some of his vulnerability which makes him even more believable as a love them and leave them type of guy who has actually fallen in love with his best friend’s best friend. Riley is a strong character who is quite capable of being in a relationship but is worried about the fact that Preston is her best friend’s best friend. Their relationship is a secret and once revealed Piper is quite happy for both of them. Everything is going along quite smoothly until Preston starts having doubts about himself and breaks off the relationship. Thankfully Riley gives him a second chance and they reconcile. I loved the road they both travelled to be together and finally were able to cement their relationship. Well written with great characters and a few fun moments make for an awesome read. Cannot wait to read the next book in this series and be with these characters once again.

Preston Young doesn’t want his wild, love-‘em-and-leave-‘em life anymore. He is finally ready to settle down and claim his happily ever after. He was the one that rejected his best friend and broke her heart on national television—then secretly fell in love with HER best friend. He had been firmly told that Riley, Piper’s best friend, was off-limits. But, well, that didn’t stop him. So now he has one chance to make it right, to convince her he wants it to be forever.

Preston and Riley are perfect for each other, their personalities meshing seamlessly. They are named godparents of Piper and Calvin’s child, so Riley wants to take things slowly with Preston to avoid awkwardness if she and Preston would break up while still having to see each other at their godchild’s milestones. So they keep things secret and slowly build their relationship, only to have Preston facing second doubts about his ability to commit for the long-term. Will he finally grow up when he splits with Riley? Will she give him a second chance if he comes back, hopefully a grown-up and smarter guy who knows what he wants this time? Grab your copy and see if the two of them can sort this out.

The infamous Preston Young is about to get his happy ending. After breaking his best friend Piper’s heart on national television, he learned that he was “in love” with his her, or so he thought. Now his brother and best friend are expecting their first child and have recruited Preston and Piper’s best friend, Riley, as godparents, and things are about to get difficult. Riley had been sworn off limits to Preston due to his playboy tendencies but as soon as they meet, sparks fly. Preston is at a point in his life where he wants to settle down and meet the love of his life. I loved Preston and Riley’s banter, organic chemistry, and best friend- like relationship. They really are each other’s perfect match and complement each other and were HILARIOUS. To keep things from getting problematic in regards to their godchild, Preston and Riley decide to continue their relationship in secret and get to know each other better without pressures from outsiders. The couple begin to face drawbacks when Preston becomes unsure of committing and begins to have doubts about their future together.

After learning that his best friend Piper is not only marrying his older brother Calvin but that she is also having his baby, Preston wonders where he fits in all this. Before he had two people to back him up, have fun with etc. Now he is third-wheeling it with them and he's left feeling like a spare part.

Riley is Piper's other best friend, the female version of Preston. Friends from college and now colleagues she has been there for Piper during the whole Preston scandal. But now both Riley and Preston are going to be the baby's godparents so they need to meet and become friends in order to help navigate this baby through its life. It's a good job that when they do meet that they have an instant connection.

Although given Preston's playboy history and not wanting to ruin friendships with Piper and Calvin they opt to take things slowly to see how things go. A 'no-sex' ban so as not to confuse their feelings for each other. They date for a few months until the hook up at Piper and Calvin's wedding. However, soon the pressure of a relationship has Preston running away, leaving Riley to discover that she's going to have a lasting reminder of him.

absolutely lived reading Preston and Rileys story.

Preston is still confused over his feelings for his best friend but knows that for the first time in his life he is ready to begin a relationship meeting riley was complete fate for preston and fell at the perfect time for him only he couldnt even begin to imagine the feelings and love that she could conjure up in him or the way in which she makes him be or want to be a better man.

Riley is the female preston and it was instant attraction for her with him but she is concerned over prestons geelings for piper at first. Then soon after eants to males sure that she isnt just another notch on his bedpost, she wants to know its real.

The loyalty both of these chapters show for not only piper but also each other is admirable and truely beautiful. This book was incredible and I feel in love with these characters soo easily.

This series is absolutly amazing and I cant wait to read more.

Thank you

I received this ebook ARC from the author on the condition that I write an honest review.
This book seemed like a continuation of the previous book about the friendship between Preston and Piper, except now it includes the love between Preston and Riley. All the previous characters made appearances in this story.
Preston was a total playboy and refused to have nothing more than one night stands with different women. When he lays eyes on Riley, his thoughts and feelings change completely, and he falls totally in love. He persists in forming a relationship with Riley, even though his best friends attempt to break them up.
Riley, best friend and former roommate of Piper, meets and falls in love with Preston, even though she knows about his player reputation. They struggle to keep their relationship a secret until they realize that they actually love each other, and are now facing parenthood together. They eventually reach their HEA.
I’ve read several books written by Alexis Winter and always enjoy the stories that she writes, and of course, I always recommend her books.

She's Off Limits

Preston promises his brother & best friend/sister-in-law that he won't go near or touch Riley. This book is fantastic! A wonderful story about finding something you never knew you wanted, it is well worth reading. After his best friend Piper ends up pregnant and getting married to his brother, Preston wonders if he made a mistake. That is, until he meets Piper's other best friend, Riley. The two hit if off immediately but Preston has been told by his brother that she is off limits. Riley and Preston try to deny the chemistry between them but soon, it's too much to resist and they are seeing each other secretly. When they finally come clean, Piper and Calvin are happy for them if not a little hesitant about Preston's past. A night out with his friends, will have Preston breaking things off with Riley, sure it's the right thing to do. A miserable month apart will have him crawling back to Riley only to find out she's pregnant. He vows to be with her for the long haul and soon the two are planning a wedding, buying a house and getting excited for the rest of their lives together.

Riley and Preston meet through Piper their her friends but haven't met. When they do meet sparks fly between them and they fight their attraction. They try to remain friends as they hang out doing thing that they love doing together but soon things heat up. They keep what's happening between them a secret even though Piper has told Riley that she'd like to see them together. Preston convinces Riley that he is ready to settle down and it looks like everything is going well for them. Until a guys night out for Preston ends with him spooked and has him pulling away from Riley. Will he figure out his mistake before its too late? Will she give him another chance?

This is an amazing story that once I started it I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between them is off the charts hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

absolutely lived reading Preston and Riley's story.

Preston is still confused over his feelings for his best friend but knows that for the first time in his life he is ready to begin a relationship meeting Riley was complete fate for Preston and fell at the perfect time for him only he couldn't even begin to imagine the feelings and love that she could conjure up in him or the way in which she makes him be or want to be a better man.

Riley is the female Preston and it was instant attraction for her with him but she is concerned over Preston's feelings for piper at first. Then soon after wants to males sure that she is not just another notch on his bedpost, she wants to know its real.

The loyalty both of these chapters show for not only piper but also each other is admirable and truly beautiful. This book was incredible and I feel in love with these characters soo easily.

This series is absolutely amazing and I cant wait to read more.

Thank you

Overall, I enjoyed the book. I was happy that Preston seemed to be getting his act together. He was still pretty immature at the end of The Wrong Brother. But then he meets Piper’s best girlfriend Riley and seems to be making more responsible, thoughtful decisions regarding his relationship with her. They seem like a great match. His character really aggravated me with his waffling, fear of growing up, and possible “what if’s”, and listening to his doofus, irresponsible friends. I wanted to shake him or slap him a few times. Riley, despite being as fun-loving and happily single as Preston, is ready to look at their relationship as long-term, willing to take some time rather than jumping in, and is mature and responsible enough to meet an unexpected challenge. A very satisfying read.

I felt sorry for Preston in book 1 of this series as his brother Calvin got his girl. When Piper and Calvin introduce Riley, a work colleague of Piper's to Preston as prospective godparents to their new baby, Calvin warns Preston not to get involved with Riley as they are both close friends with Piper and he doesn't want playboy Preston to hurt Riley. However, as Preston and Riley get to know each other, they realise they have a lot in common and they can't stay away from each other. Keeping their blossoming relationship a secret becomes a humorous challenge. Preston, unused to staying with a woman for any length of time gets cold feet and suggests some time apart from Riley. Inevitably the chemistry is too strong and the pair reach a happy conclusion. Looking forward to the next in this series. Read and ARC for an honest review.

Marrying My Best Friend's BFF
By Alexis Winter
Main Characters: Preston and Riley
I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the author.
3 1/2 out of 5 stars
This is the 2nd book in the "Love You Forever" series. I enjoyed the 1st book more with Piper and Cal. This one is about Piper's best friend Riley and Cal's brother Preston. I was not thrilled with Preston's character in book 1 and that carried over into book 2 for me. I didn't really see a reason for the two of them to keep it on the down-low. The story is told in dual POV's. I also had a hard time believing that Preston the playboy all of a sudden fell instantly for Riley and did a total turn around in his character. It was a good story but I found I wanted a little more angst in it.

Preston was getting over his best friend marrying his brother and having a baby with him but when he meets Riley the God mother he found out that it was never true love with piper because he feels something he has never ever felt before with Riley but will he screw it up and destroy the best thing thats ever happened to him and also lose his chance at being a father?Riley knows all about what a player Preston is and how he hurt her best friend but when they get together sparks fly between them but what happens when he decides he can't handle his true feelings? Will she be left destroyed and to make things worse will she leave the city to raise her baby with her parents?I absolutely fell in love with this book and series and can't wait for the next book.

I highly suggest that you read ‘The Wrong Brother’ first before even attempting to read this one. It is going to be very hard to even follow some of the emotional and relationship issues here without the background knowledge of the first book. Although technically this can standalone, the storyline can’t be fully appreciated without knowing the other side of the story. Concentrating purely on this one though, although I had an idea already on what the end result was going to be because I read the first book, I actually enjoyed reading the journey it took to get there. I loved the emotional impact and reflection that went on in this book. Also, I got to appreciate the supposedly supporting characters more.

I was pulled into the story right from the beginning, stayed there until I had read the last word written. All the while my little mini movie is playing in my head.
This story is packed with surprises, some large, some small, some you will see coming and others you won't, but they all aide in making the book the awesome read that it is.
The emotions that all the characters go through can be felt, from the start of the book to the end of the book, I actually went through the emotions with the characters, and wouldn't want it any other way.
I did get a little frustrated a couple of times with the main male characters, and really wanted to hit him, but he redeemed himself and I still love him.
I highly recommend this book, it is one of those books that will stay with you for a long long time.
