In the absence of the god-king, Tamurot, Goddess of the Deep, has been growing in power—and at long last, her moment is at hand. Her meticulous plans now set in motion, she'll soon drown the whole of mankind in a tidal wave of vengeance.
All she requires is one final sacrifice.
Meanwhile, on the eve of her consecration, Sister Caga journeys deep into a swamp where she is to keep vigil in the ruins of an ancient temple. But more awaits her than swarming flies and snarling crocodiles. In the bowels of the ziggurat lurks another, darker presence …
Bewitched at a young age by all things to do with swords and magic, Canadian fantasy author Timothy J. R. Rains spent his youth slaughtering Minotaurs in the misty woods of rural Nova Scotia.
He studied cartography at the Centre of Geographic Sciences and has a degree in theology from Briercrest College. When he isn’t caught up in another dimension, he’s usually out in the middle of some cold river with a cigar in his teeth and a fishing rod in his hands. He lives with his wife and daughter in Riverview, New Brunswick.
I liked this book and given this is the first I’ve read by the author and it was free on Amazon, I thought this was quite intriguing.
I feel that this book would have been a really good prequel to a series to introduce the Priestess of Suor into a much larger world. If this was to expand, I think this has done a good job for scene setting. If this does expand into a series then I believe this should have been a bigger, full sized book that could go into much more detail about what happened and go into some more character depth.
Other than this, it’s a free read from Amazon that’s worth the download.
This is the 1st book I've read written by Timothy J.R. Rains; he has done a great job at writing a good book; I will definitely be reading more of his books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.
I loved the characters.
