Filthy Riches
This book was off the hook and I was sucked in from the start and literally could not put it down. You will be captivated, it’s action packed, suspenseful, on the edge of your seat good, you will be waiting with bated breath for what comes next after every turn of the page. The chemistry between Nathan and Emma is deliciously yummy and Kyle and Carly are right up there as well. You will not want for anything in this book, you will see how Nathan and Emma are drawn to each other and that makes Nathan nervous, he can’t control his feelings towards her and hers for him. The outcome, however, could be deadly for both of them.

I just loved it! This story is deep, sexy, emotional, all consuming and crazy good you can’t put it down. I read this book while delayed at the airport, thank god I had this to read. Madison is sassy, strong, and stands her ground, but her ex really did a number on her and she doesn’t want to put herself out there right now. Her friend Tiffany convinced her to see a palm reader and the truths that were said scared her and she didn’t want to believe any of it. That is until Scott Danger walked into the bar where she worked and they couldn’t keep their eye off each other. There was a spark, and instant attraction, a pull to him she can’t explain. These two are meant to be, it’s fate, call it kismet, honesty is right up there with all of it and when Madison learns what Scott’s done, will she be able to forgive him and move on? Or will she walk away from her soul mate forever? No spoilers this book is amazing, this is a must read you will not be disappointed.

Power Play by Lauren Landish is a two book box set totaling 785 pages. This has two really great books by this author. This is a great way to discover Ms. Landish if you haven't read her books before and for us who are already a fan then these are must read books. I highly recommend this box set. Power Play is a two-book combo by author Laura Landish. When I downloaded it I assumed that the second book would be a sequel to the first. But you know what happens when you assume…. They are two separate standlone stories. The first is Filthy Riches and the second is Scorpio. About the only thing these two stories have in common is their lusty heroines like to use the term fuck liberally, before during and after sex, like rough sex and no one seems to be overly concerned about passing along STDs.
Filthy Riches (4 Stars)
Filthy Riches is not what I expected to get in a contemporary romance. It has as much suspense and danger as it has romance and sex. And it has plenty of romance and sex in it. The main characters or couples are Nathan Stone and Emma Daniels and Emma’s BFF since childhood Carly and Kyle whom Carly falls in love with. Nathan’s younger brother Caleb and Emma’s older sister Claire have large enough roles in the story to be considered almost equally as main characters. I marvel at the ingenuity it took to create a story where the lives of these six characters are all intertwined and eventually come together for an exciting conclusion.
As the story opens Nathan Stone a former soldier of fortune or mercenary and ex-Army or Marine veteran (part of the reason I didn’t give this story 5 stars is because there are a few spots like which branch of the service Nathan was in that are inconsistent) is reluctantly at the helm of the family’s billion dollar diamond business after the murder of his father an Indiana Jones figure who spent no time being a father to his two sons. His brother Caleb also a former mercenary, serves as his right-hand man. Emma is a struggling “wannabe” Broadway actress who uses her undergrad degree in archeology to support herself as a research assistant for an NYU professor while she auditions for roles and performs in off-Broadway plays. Her sister Claire, an FBI agent approaches her to attend a party being thrown by Nathan for a Russian mobster Nicolai Romanov as a paid hostess. Claire is convinced Nathan is dirty and had something to do with the murder of his father and his father’s pregnant research assistant Anna Russo. But she can’t get enough evidence to convince her boss to set up an official undercover operation. She believes with Emma’s combination of good looks, experience in attending social functions and acting skills she is capable of pretending to be one of the women hired to mingle with the male guests and possibly glean some valuable intel. What she doesn’t expect is for Emma to fall in love with Nathan or for her to accidentally get so deeply involved in the operation that her life becomes threatened by Romanov and possibly the Stone brothers. Nathan also finds himself gob smacked by Emma, not knowing she’s an unofficial FBI plant.
Meanwhile across the ocean in Florence Italy Carly is living a transient life, backpacking through Europe, living in a hostel, currently working as a street busker entertaining the crowds by combining her martial arts skills and natural athleticism to create an entertaining martial arts routine. Carly’s socialite parents were superficial assholes who only saw her as a means to improve their social status by marrying her off to the abusive son of a socially well-connected family. Carly rebels by fleeing their house and living a free life in Europe. One day while leaving her favorite café Carly literally runs into Kyle a former mercenary who has dedicated his life to finding out who killed his fiancée, the mother of his unborn child, Anna Russo. Kyle has totally shut down in his grief with his only focus being to find and kill the man who killed Anna. Something in the hulking, brooding Kyle touches Carly’s heart and she is determined to help him through his pain.
I thought this was an intriguing story. I loved the Emma character. I loved how her stubbornness and feisty personality allowed her to overcome her fears and rise to occasion several times in the story. Although it seemed more than a little unrealistic I loved how Carly understood Kyle’s demons so well even before she knew what drove them. I loved how both young women were willing to put their hearts on the line to be with the men they loved.
Scorpio (3.5 Stars)
From the outset I found this story intriguing just from the fact that our heroine Madison is blue collar through and through. She drives a beat up Corolla, works as a bartender and takes her fashion tips from her idol Dolly Parton. I really liked the Madison character. She’s sweet, caring, hard working and naturally intelligent and intuitive if not well educated. Because I’m an old fart the idea that the first night she meets Scott she humps his leg to orgasm and then bends herself over a bar stool and asks him to fuck her sort of bothered me. In fact once Maddie’s libido kicks in she’s just as lusty and raunchy as any male contemporary romance lead. Holy cow this girl likes her sex and she likes it rough and even a bit kinky. Madison has some serious emotional baggage to contend with. Her mother gave her up to be raised by her older sister as a baby and then disappeared never to be heard from again so Madison has some abandonment issues. She was in a relationship with Rich, a man who tried to Gas Light and then physically abuse her which left her so distraught she can’t bare to hear the man’s name mentioned without having a panic attack. She’s barely to the point where she’s considering dating again when the story opens.
Enter our male lead Scott Danger. Scott is the youngest of three siblings of the most prominent and influential families in their small but growing city. Even though Scott was born to a family of wealth and privilege he has a plethora of his own emotional issues. His father was a manipulative, narcissistic bastard who pitted his two sons and daughter against one another for his favor from birth. All three work at the family equity investment firm where their father is still pulling their strings delighting in pitting them against one another while trying to garner any successes they might have for himself. He favors the oldest son Chase, pretty much ignores his daughter Olivia for not having a penis and seems to dislike Scott. Scott constantly competes primarily with his brother Chase for his father’s approval. As the story opens all three are preparing to present the board with their pet project that will take the company into the 21st Century and beyond and possibly determine which sibling is chosen to replace Robert when he retires.
After a tough day at the office Scott’s BFF and #1 assistant Robbie convinces him to go to Stella’s Honkytonk for a drink and to blow off some steam. There he meets Madison who is tending bar. Scott’s good looks and overpowering charisma draw Madison to him like bees to honey. Scott is equally drawn to the gorgeous, snarky bartender. One thing leads to another and Madison nearly bangs him right in the bar after hours until he reveals a tattoo of a Scorpion on his chest. Turns out Scott is a Scorpio and after a night of drinking when he was 21 he had the tattoo done. Unfortunately on her way to work that night Madison’s BFF Tiffany convinced her to go to a fortune teller who told her she would meet and fall in love with a Scorpion who would break her heart and then she would burn. Even though Madison didn’t put any stock in the fortune tellers’ reading one look at Scott’s tattoo and she freaks out. Eventually Scott convinces Madison to go out with him and they hit it off fabulously. But the course of true love never runs smoothly. Scott doesn’t like Madison working at the bar having the patrons leer and proposition her. He feels the job is beneath her and wants her to come work from him. To Madison this all sounds too much like her former relationship with a successful, ambitious man who tried to control her and squash her self-esteem. Just when the future looks bright for our couple the fortune tellers prophecy comes true.
Madison is definitely the star of this story. She helps and heals everyone around her. Despite her lack of formal education it’s her wisdom and advice that changes Scott’s career path and relationship with his family. Even though she likes Scott’s bossy side in bed she’s definitely the one calling the shots in their relationship in and out of the bedroom. The H.E.A. was sweet.

Power Play by Lauren Landish a powerful pair of five-star reads. Oh my goodness get your fans a ready as you will be warming up no end with these amazing reads, I have read them both previously and adored them so much as soon as I realised these were coming as a pair I couldn’t resist a re-read. I am a huge fan of Lauren Landish as she makes me laugh so hard fluids come out of my body in places that I don’t like!!! Including wine from my nose and that’s just sacrilege!!! But I can’t help myself from reading it just keeps getting better and better. If you haven’t read these stories go pick them up, and even if you have pick them up again as they are so worth it!!!

Filthy Riches - A read that takes you on a ride with danger, adventure, lost treasure and healing. There wasn’t just one set of characters that had their story but two, four couples that are entwined with each other, two are obvious but the the other two have no clue.
A great read with steam, danger, adventure, some suspense, heartbreak, heartache, secrets, lies, betrayals, murder, pain, loss, grieving, lust/love, and much more. The book is long and I flew through it, not getting bored once as the story had me glued to the pages and not wanting to put it down. I enjoyed all the characters and how they are intertwined with each other, coming to a head with all the pieces flying togther near the end. The story flowed beautifully and with epilogues that had me smiling from ear to ear for both couples.
Scorpio - If you like horoscopes then this is the read for you and I actually enjoyed the horoscope readings at the beginning of each chapter, even if I don’t read them myself. Scott Danger is definitely a danger to Madison but to her heart and after a reading from a psychic she is more cautious of the man who happens to be a Scorpio. But Scott doesn’t give up and needles his way in and soon the two are enjoying each other. But there is something on the horizon and neither of them can steer clear of it...will it leave Madison badly burned as predicted.
I LOVED LOVED this read and this author has a way of telling a story that you don’t want to let go. There’s steamy hot scenes to melt icebergs, as well as some suspense and action. Scott’s past and current relationship with his dad and his siblings, his need for control, his drive and determination, his need to win and competiveness...what a man..but what really got me was his ability for compassion, kindness, protectiveness and being able to be a bigger man when it really counted. I loved Madison’s independence, strength, beauty and being able to reach Scott where no else could. I loved how it all played out, I loved how there weren’t women crawling out of the woodwork, I loved how there were no jealousies or people trying to break them apart, I loved how there was no over the top drama...it didn’t need it. I LOVED how this story was about them, how they complimented each other, how the story flowed and how it all played out from beginning to end..it’s safe to say I LOVED this read !

Filthy Riches
I really liked this very involved story that was intriguing, mstereous, and exciting. There were actually two stories going on at once in this story.
Nathan was a super-rich, super sezy man of mystery. He could be clean or his business dealings could be dirty. He was involved with the Russian Mafia at the very least. He meets Emma at his mansion where he's throwing a party and she is one og his hostesses. He owns a highly regarded gemstone business. Emma is there as part of the entertainment but she catches his ryr and he knows he wants her for himself.
Emma is there under false pretenses for her sister. She is suppose to find out what his bisiness with the Russian mob is about but she isn't good ar undercover work and makes a serious mistake diring Nathan's business dealing. Sje doesn't realize that it could mean her life. Nathan covers for her and saves her life. She is totally intrigued and HOY for this man but she can't tell him about herself.
They end up on a mission with his brother Caleb to try and straighten everything out. It's a very scary trip they make and it could cost them all their lives.
At the same time Emma's best friend Carly is pursuing her owb hearts wish with a man named Kyle. Kyle has a black hole where his heart once was. He lost his wife and daughter and he wants one thing only REVENGE. He wants Nathan to die in pain, slowly. Carly has just met Nathan through her best friend but her loyalty is to Kyle, a ,man she has actively chased.
When Nathan and Kyle meet things get tight and exciting.
SCROPIO
This is the second story in the book and I thought it was a let down deom the action packed first story. This is the story of a palm reading that two best friends attend.
Madison is a bartender who had a bad breakup with a man who wanted to abuse and possess her. She is able to break free from him and get lost in another life where she is tending bar. Then one night she meets Scott Danger a millionaire that walks into the rundown bar where she works. That night she dresses up for some reason and sge catches Scotts attention.
The palm reader gave her a warning that she just jnows has to do with Scott so she tries to somewhat avoid him but she just can't. They get close and then through mant plot twists there are problems that tear the two of them apart. But in the end the palm reader gets it just right.

Each first meeting of both the couples, Nathan and Emma, Kyle and Carly, took my breath away because Ms. Landish transported their intense chemistry and the high leveled tension so very well…
Their story is like two stories intertwined, yet only one story with different perspectives, connected by the missing of loved ones…
It is breathtakingly explosive and thrilling to no end, a thrilling crime story romance.
But it also is an untangled mess with so many complicated and tricky twists and turns that it had my head spinning. Inbetween I totally forgot to breath at all and found me gasping for air when a dire situation dissolved or at least partly dissolved…To say this story kept me on the edge of my seat is the understatement of the century!
With every page turned it became more twisted and complicated so that it was doubtful that there was at all a way to unravel this tangled mess…
The characters are unbelievably deep and ambiguous in their feelings because of past experiences and because of denied support in their past what made them even more palpable.
I am stunned about the emotional, psychic and contentual complexity.
Ms. Landish transported the suspense, the complexity of the situation and the emotions and the individuality of all characters extraordinary well and thus wrote her best book to date. W.O.W ! ! !
SCORPIO
I loved this humorous and amusing, but in no way shallow, story.
I loved the mixed in drama, too, as well as the high levelled tension.
This story is like a rollercoaster ride with so many ups and down that it left me breathless at times.
It is kind of a modern day Cinderella story mixed with a tiny bit of Pretty Woman, lots of drama and lots of contradicting emotions…
The characters of Madison and Scott are amazing and felt so very genuine in all their tornness and problems, fighting against demons of their pasts and the thereof resulting insecurities and trust issues in the present.
And starting every chapter with the daily horoscope totally is something else and unique!
This is another masterpiece written by the excellent Ms. Landish.

Revealing the True Gem
This was the first book I read of Lauren's and "oh my stars and garters", I was left physically and emotionally spent. Nathan Stone simmers with the words dangerous and sexy. He also has a battered and heart wrenching past that makes up the measure of this man. Emma, drawn to Nathan like a moth to a raging flame is swept up in his essence. They each have no control in the sexual attraction they have for each other. In Emma's case, she sees beyond the shell that Nathan keeps in check and can see into his very soul that holds the darkness he tries to hide. And that scares Nathan so that he is always in constant "flight" mode.
The intrigue, suspense and conspiracy in this story is compared to going on a quest for a holy grail. The supporting players, Kyle and Carly are a story on their own. Lauren cleverly intertwines all her characters beautifully. They beckoned to me to return again and again. They were hard to let go. I relished every word and did not want this adventure to end. Lauren has grabbed my attention, hook line and sinker and I have now jumped on the band wagon to stay.

The best way to predict the future is to create it...
What drew me to this story was how everything is intertwined around a fortune reading told to our heroine Madison. Her fortune did not really hit home until she met Scott. Scott walked into the bar where she worked and Madison and Scott's lives were forever changed.
They come from different worlds, but the attraction for each other was addictive and could not be tamed. They both have family abandonment issues which I believe drew them even closer to each other. Scott is an alpha male and the need to protect Madison was strong and second nature to him. Madison is an independent fierce woman and will not be bridled by any man. She had already gone through a relationship such as this and will never go through it again.
This was an emotional story that was very passionate, steamy and romantic. A winning combination.

Nathan Stone is rich beyond most people's dreams, he worked his butt off to get the fledgling business that his father left behind into a billion dollar titan that he's got on his hands. His father had always been chasing one dream after another, thinking himself an Indiana Jones type guy, off looking for the next artifact or gem worth tons of money. It was never enough for him, he'd left his young sons behind, first with their mother while she was alive, then with nannies and house managers after her death. Nathan and his younger brother, Caleb, only had one another to depend upon, the two of them against the world. Emma is an actress, and archeological assistant with an older sister, Clair whose an FBI Agent. Clair gets Emma to go under cover to a party that Nathan is holding at his house where there is a need for Hostesses to occupy the male guests. At the party there's going to be a meeting between Nathan and a kingpin to the Russian mob, Nikolai. Emma is supposed to get as close to Nathan and get as much intel as she can. The funniest thing happens and Emma falls over a plant whilst the meeting is in full swing, Nikolai wants to kill her, but Nathan says that Emma is his girlfriend and will not kill her, since she was only trying to keep close to him as per his orders.
Scorpio -
Madison and Scott meet by chance in a bar. Maddie is a bartender and Scott gets talked into "Slumming" by his buddy/co-worker to celebrate some work project. This story is a very well written action packed book that will keep you reading well past your bedtime. Once you pick it up, you won't be able to put it down until the ending.

This book is actually two books in one; Filthy riches and Scorpio.
Filthy Riches follows the characters of billionaire Nathan Stone and archaeologist/actress Emma Daniels, as well as a secondary story of Emma‘s best friend Carly Edwards and mercenary/hitman Kyle. We also have Nathan’s younger brother Caleb and Emma’s older sister Claire, though their stories aren’t as mentioned as Carly and Kyle. Emma is sent into a party by her FBI sister to try to dig up some dirt on Nathan and his meeting with a Russian mob member, but what she gets instead is a role of being girlfriend to Nathan. Carly’s story finds her in Italy where she runs into Kyle, literally, and begins to help the gruff hitman heal from a tragedy in his past. Add in a bunch of twists, a trip to the Brazilian rainforest, and an attempted assassin, and this book takes you on a wild adventure. Hopefully the author will give us more about Claire in the future, and maybe even a romance with Caleb since the two seemed to hit it off in the end.

A somewhat sketchy gem dealer, and his research assistant are murdered. Against her better judgement, Emma is convinced by her sister to spy on a Russian mob boss, and the American businessman suspected of killing his father to gain control of the family gem business. Step aside Indiana Jones, Emma and Nathan are on a mission to find the person responsible for his father's death. They are also determined to find to find the ancient gemstone that his father was searching for, and possibly the reason he was murdered, and they will have to travel to somewhere in the Amazon jungle to find it.

Madison and Scott have a few personal issues that they will overcome in order to have their happily ever after.

A somewhat sketchy gem dealer, and his research assistant are murdered. Against her better judgement, Emma is convinced by her sister to spy on a Russian mob boss, and the American businessman suspected of killing his father to gain control of the family gem business. Step aside Indiana Jones, Emma and Nathan are on a mission to find the person responsible for his father's death. They are also determined to find to find the ancient gemstone that his father was searching for, and possibly the reason he was murdered, and they will have to travel to somewhere in the Amazon jungle to find it.

This collection gives you two enticing romances to enjoy with a single click. Great writing, interesting characters and compelling storylines put these reads firmly on the "Can't Miss" pile. The two books included are Filthy Riches and Scorpio. This is my candid, elective review.
Filthy Riches
This is one of those books that just leave you saying WOW! This romance is a exciting, action packed, thrill ride. I mean there is so much going on here. You get two couples (Emma & Nathan and Carly & Kyle), steamy passion, powerful emotions, drama, adventure, danger, suspense and intrigue, all so very brilliantly woven together into one unforgettable book. In other words you are never given even a single opportunity to grow bored. In fact, I found myself getting so annoyed when real life wanted to be rude enough to interrupt my reading, that I was quite cranky about it. Refreshing, unique and absolutely delightful!!

This is one epically delicious romance!! I loved Madison and Scott. She was so incredibly genuine and he was very swoony! Their chemistry was sizzled and their attraction was seismic. The story was fun but also had plenty of heart. I thought this was just an all around great read.

Two of my favorite books by Lauren Landish together in one.
Filthy Riches- Wow! I am speechless! That was one amazing story. It follows four characters that all intertwine together. I loved how their stories all unfolded & came together. There is a little of everything in this story. Lauren Landish has outdone herself once again. Just when you think you have it figured out, there are twists. Great story!
Scorpio- Scorpio was a great book to read. Madison is talked into going to a fortune telling for a reading by her friend after Madison has a bad break-up. Madison doesn't usually believe in this but goes along. When Madison meets Scott Danger, could the fortune teller be correct? Scott grew up with money but no love in his family. Madison was raised by her aunt & money was very tight. Scott wants to prove Madison wrong but she doesn't want to let her guard down after what happened with her ex. There is defiantly something between Madison & Scott but will it work. Lauren Landish wrote a very good story. Well worth reading it.

This is a collection of two books, “Filthy Riches” and “Scorpio”. I thought both books warranted a three star rating.
Filthy Riches had an interesting story but I almost feel like it was more an adventure book than a romance and that wasn’t what I was looking for which made things a bit slow. Also, this book focuses around two different couples so you get four POVs. One couple is way more interesting and favored more than the other in nuances and time given so it almost feels like the other couple makes the story drag more. All in all it was just okay, interesting story if I was looking for an adventure book. Reminded me a bit of a Clive Cussler.

This is such a great combo! Each book by itself is worth this much on its own. If hot, melty, steamy, twisty, hunky, and fantastic are words that draw you to a review, this is the review for you to read and listen to! Both books are well written, have great characters, and will leave you completely satisfied that you got your fix of all of the above. Grab a fan, a cold drink, and a comfy place where you won't be disturbed and dig into this entertaining duet which will grab and keep your interest from beginning to end! If you've never read any of Lauren's books before, this is an excellent place to start and will have you going back to investigate the other wonderful books she's written! I received an ARC of this, but I had already read the two books in this duet on their own, and I'm happy to provide this honest review.

Captivating, sultry, dangerous and passionate!!
OMG! These two books were just incredible! A dangerous adventure begins with lies and lust. It’s the wicked truth, trusting yourself can be really fucking hard; but when it comes to letting yourself trust someone else? Not just with your heart, but what about with your life? Your existence? I loved the way the Lauren has woven the web so intricately in Filthy Rich, it has the reader on the edge with it’s drama, mystery, hotness and suspense. I couldn’t put it down!! Scorpio instantly grabbed my attention with its lead into realm of spiritual enlightenment and mythology, but you can’t help but root for Maggie’s happy ever after! As in real life- we get yanked around by some pretty tough shit in the meantime. All of it to teach us important lessons and guiding us to where and who we want to be. Great reads!!

ARC Review for honest review filthy rich -This a story of the two stone brothers Nathan and Caleb running stone corporation both ex mercenaries . Trying to find out who murdered there father and the lost diamond. While Claire a FBI agent, emma her sister ,best friend Carly , and Kyle, Anna who was murdered too all get caught in this story to find out the truth each in there own way. Awesome story this will have to turning pages to find out the truth for yourself. Scorpio-When the horoscope sign points to one direction a psychic directs another . Filthy Riches: OMG this story was off the charts, Had me griped from start to finish, Taken on rollercoaster of a ride With Nathan and Emma plus Carly and Kyle. Full of suspense and twist and turns along the way,
Scorpio: I really loved Madison and Scott's story i couldn’t put it down until I finished it. They had an instant attraction towards each other and there chemistry was off the charts.

Filthy Riches: This is really two interwoven stories of four people. There are secrets and lies galore plus a whodunit. Lots of hurt, a bit of action, and some HEAs. This story feels very different than the author’s previous books, but this is no way bad.
Scorpio: Superstition causes bad decisions and secrets cause hurt. I enjoyed watching the relationships throughout the story evolve. Amazing chemistry between Scott and Madison. They really bring out the best parts of each other--eventually.

Lauren Landish holy crap! I am so used to reading her rom coms (which are fabulous) but these two books in one were absolutely phenomenal and so outside what I’m used to that I was thrown at first. I am so glad that I put this on my TBR. Equally heart pounding and exciting these books definitely kept me on my toes. Through all the twists and turns I’m glad that Emma and Nathan could overcome the lies and that Scott and Madison were able to overcome the stereotypes and eerie premonition. Must read for me!

Loved this double book
Both stories were so fantastic. I thoroughly enjoyed each but I have to admit one thing. I seriously thought the second story would be between Emma’s sister Claire and Nathan’s brother, or at least I was hoping it was. The second book was amazing so I wasn’t necessarily disappointed but I just wanted to know what happened to them since they were fighting with each other.

Loved it!
Oh I just loved this book!! Two wonderful story's and three great couples!! The first of the two story's will keep you in the edge of your seat and you do t want to put it down!! The second it a heart warming and loving story of two people who truly come from different world but help each other heal and a love so strong!! I would recommend this book to everyone!

There are two stories in the book and I was only able to get through the first story. I found that I do not like 4 POVs. This is a personal preference and others may enjoy it. I struggled at first reading through it as I felt the story line was moving slow. It typically only takes me 3 days to read a book but because I typically like her books I didn’t want to give up on reading it.
