Story takes place in the Omegaverse. Hobson Hills Omegas: Book Three
Caden Benson is stoic, quiet, and proper. He may write romance novels now, but his family and friends still see him as the cold and logical lawyer he was for most of his adult life. Everything changes when he meets his omega. Courtship should be easy for a romance author, right?
Yeo Cook is starting a new life with his little sister and his son. They have some healing to do and he knows alphas aren't to be trusted. What's he to do, though, when the most adorably awkward alpha sets out to court him?
The two men find out they have more in common then they could have imagined and they compliment each other perfectly, but can their relationship last through greedy, controlling grandparents and the revelation of horrible family secrets?
Author's Note: 35,000+ words. This is a m/m, non-shifter, mpreg love story with no angst and no cheating, just a HEA. There are a few potty mouths, so beware. 18+ readers only, please. It is the third book in the series but can be read as a stand alone.
I have been self-publishing since October 2018. My books are extremely light and fluffy m/m romance with mpreg, and while they span a few subgenres of romance, they have similar themes of found family and love at first sight. Besides writing, I enjoy reading everything I can get my hands on, especially m/m romance. My personal favorites are mpreg, sci-fi, fantasy, and paranormal.
This was sweet but I eventually got a little bored, putting it down and picking it back up to finish. I liked both mc's but it got a little silly at times. I'll definitely continue the series when I need a good filler.
Super sweet omegaverse romance between a bookstore owner and a romance novelist.
This series is full of pets, friendship, family, found family, and kids. Its ooey gooey. And then it has pretty flat awful villains in this an awful father who is the reason our hero's is raising his sisters and he has a terrible ex wife as well.
We get fun courting in this book and a nice cast. A quick read.
It's on the shorter end - however what you will find is that this has hardly any sex so you aren't dealing with so much sex for the length. My main issue here is the immaturity of the characters and the town really in general. Most everyone acts like a teenager at times, sometimes more of the time than not. A ton of giggling, holding hands, etc. which is still off putting to me. It's not a femininity thing it's just a general immaturity. The one thing is that I did not believe for a single second that Yeo was a CEO of an established company. He acted like he was 16.
In general that's my issue with so much mpreg - a lot of teenage mentality vs. grown men mentality.
Overall though this was a nice diversion and I like the progression of the story. I'm already 35% into the next book but similar issue is presenting - Dean (a 40+ omega) is having his "I'm 16" moments and it is just super hard to read about such immature characters because it pulls you out of the story completely. There is fluff and there is just being a regular human who has been on earth for over 40 years. I really hope the maturity level of the town and characters kicks up a notch.
This was book 3 in the "Hobson Hills Omega" series. Caden Benson is finally living the life that he wants he gave up being a lawyer and now he writes romance novels its only one thing missing an omega of his own. Omega Yeo Cook is new in town he just opened a new bookstore. Yeo came to town with his young son and his sister who he has custody of because she came out and there family kicked her out. Caden likes what he sees when he looks at Yeo but when he tries to talk to him it comes out wrong so he tries to woo him. This was a good read Yeo's father tries to get him to comeback to the company that he was fired from and his ex wife tries to sue for custody of his son a son that she never wanted. When they find Yeo Omega father the gang heads to Tennessee to get him and all that animals. This was a good read this book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
A lighthearted insta-love omegaverse romance. This was a cute, light read/listen and a good stand alone. Caden is a big muscly alpha known for being stoic and always walking around with his pet bunny strapped to is chest. He falls in love rather immediately with Yeo, the new omega in town. I was actually hoping for more romancing based on the title, but they progress their relationship super fast. Some darker themes were brought up, but not in a way I could take very seriously and the ending was kind of bland. But I really needed something simple and sweet and this hit the spot. I think I'll pick up book 4 as I am enamored with the quirky town known as Hobson Hills.
I’ve liked Caden since he was introduced in the first book as one of Carter’s brothers. Yeo is a new character who just opened a bookstore in Hobson Hills. Because everybody knows everybody in the town, the store stays crowded pretty much always. It also helps that it’s connected to Zoe’s restaurant.
The first time Caden sees Yeo behind the counter he almost makes a fool of himself. When Yeo’s little boy (Linc) immediately takes to Caden, he knows he’s in love.
Yeo Cook, an omega, has custody of his little boy and his thirteen-year-old sister, Summer. They moved from Tennessee to Maine for a new life after the family disowned Yeo (the former CEO of the family business) for taking Summer in. Summer likes girls and that’s just not done in the Cook family.
Caden is a successful romance author. He’d been published long before he stepped away from his family’s law firm in Georgia.
I’m not going to attempt to tell the story because there are SO many characters, backstories, and animals. I could keep up but just barely.
There’s drama with Yeo’s horrible family. There’s an intervention of sorts with Carter and Caden, who seem to have grown apart since Caden moved to town, not closer. The nosy townsfolk are all over the place. There’s an issue with Yeo’s bio omega dad who was forced to give him up as a baby. The Wilson family (and friends and friends of friends of the family) swoop in and take care of him and Yeo’s biological siblings.
I liked Yeo and Caden together but it wasn’t just about them. Their story was so overshadowed by everybody and every animal that they were pretty much pushed to the back. As with the other books, I adored all the kids, especially Olive, Elijah’s little girl from the first book. I cracked up when she asked Caden if he needed to poop – because he really looked like he needed to poop. I adored that little girl.
There is one thing that does continue to bug me about this series...
Not every single bad guy needs to be redeemed and turned good. Seriously. First, Justin, Harper’s ex. Now, Yeo’s brother (Derek) and his stepmother who didn’t stand up for her own child (Summer) with her husband.
It’s okay to keep some bad guys and girls, well, bad. I still don’t like Justin and his and Tanner’s story is coming up in a few books. I’ll be going into that one knowing how much I despise the guy. There are some things you can’t come back from for me. The things he said early in Snow Kisses for My Omega were just hateful. Maybe I'll change my mind about the guy. Who knows?
Overall, I enjoyed this. I just almost couldn’t keep up with all the characters who seem to be in all the books, along with a ton of new ones introduced with each addition to the series.
Just because you're a romance writer doesn't mean being romantic comes easy... but don't worry your true love will totally love every romantic thing you do.
It's too crowded I can barely keep up and I'm not just talking about the characters it's the plots as well, the ending was so abrupt and it's soo melodramatic.
To my ratings: A 3,5* is clicked with a 4* but in review marked as 3,5*:
5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow-Away-book like ‘Jesse's Smile’ or ‘Joey’ from Angelique Jurd, ‘Save the the kids’ series from EM Leya, ‘Love’s Tethered Heart’ from C.L. Etta or ‘Liberty’ from Seth King), it's like an A+
4* - very good and will be often reread and is a WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises (like most of Andrew Grey books and Davidson Kings 'Haven Hart'-series) it's like an A
3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few times (most romances where you can enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in hospitals). I can recommend them definitively! It's like an B+
3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader (2-3 times a year), it's like a B
2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time-reader (I wouldn't recommend it heartily, but it was ok) It's like a C-, D
1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an absolute NO-GO). It's like failure in the whole line, dismissed, repeat the class
I love Yeo and Caden! I think that Caden's wooing of Yeo with gifts was so sweet and Yeo needed that kind of goodness in his life. Linc's love of the bun-bun was also super sweet...I have reread this series a lot but this particular book is one of my faves. From the failed Valentine's Day date that was somehow still perfect, to finding Yeo's estranged Papa and brothers, to the showdown between Caden and Carter (and their friends) this one is just extra special. Love it!
Rating: 4 stars I was looking forward to this book and it didn’t disappoint. Loved both Caden and Yeo and loved that Caden finally settled into the life that he wanted. The vision of him carrying about the little rabbit in a baby sling made me smile along with his not so romantic, romantic gestures. Overall, another really good book in the Hobson Hills series.
Read this book if you are looking for something to make you smile.
Caiden (A) quit his job as a lawyer to focus on writing romance novels. When he meets Yeo (O), he has a hard time trying to figure out how to romance him. Yeo is reluctant at first because he has never known a decent alpha. Together with their family and friends these two overcome multiple problems from Yeo’s past. There are two references to rape in this book.
Many of the previous MCs from and side characters from earlier books continue to appear in this book. Their individual personalities continue to add layers to the story being told in this book. So far the books in this series are MM. However, you get to see many other relationships forming within the town.
This book is rated 4 stars. The fast pace and blunt writing help move the story along quickly. However, it does feel like a race to the finish line. There are a few quick sex scenes that don’t add to the overall story. New characters are introduced and the town of Hobson Hill continues to grow.
Side Note: The side characters you are introduced to in this book have, or may in the future get, a book of their own. Every character is unique and the individual books in this series reflect this.
Personal Note: I laughed quite a bit when reading about Caiden fumbling to figure out what gifts to buy for Yeo. I also liked how Caiden and his youngest brother Carter were forced to work things out. However, the super fast pace and happy feel-good nature of the book will ensure this book doesn’t make it on my favorites list.
The Bensons of Georgia were old money. The youngest son Carter was in the first book. He and his visiting family members came to meet their grandkids, niece, and nephew. Carter fell in love with Hopson Hills. His parents bought a cabin and his reluctant lawyer brother finally admitted he had another career he loved - writing. He was a much loved writer under his pseudonym.
Caden thought it'd be nice to move away from Georgia to Hobson Hills: to begin a new life, to be free to write whenever he pleased, and hopefully get closer to his brother. The opening of a new bookstore couldn't be more wonderfully received. Neither could the beautiful bookstore owner. Thus begins one of the most awkward and endearing "wooings".
Brothers, best friends, abhorrent Omega treatment, books, book clubs, family drama, road trips, CPS, intervention, forgetfulness, envy, blackmail, siblings, multiculturalism.
This is another face paced, cute addition to the series where problems are introduced and then solved very quickly. While that might not be to everyone's liking, I'm personally enjoying the low angst/stress if it. My only complaint/critique is that as we get introduced to more and more characters, keeping them straight it getting difficult. I feel like we need a family list at the beginning or back of the book with the names, family connection, and brief description of everyone. It doesn't help that the author seems to have a penchant for similar sounding names. Caden, Carter, and Cain aren't too bad, I find it easy to mix up Bartley and Bennet, but the topping on the cake was Jackson, Jimmy/James, Jake, and Jules. If you're going to write a lot of characters they need to have names that aren't so easily mixed up otherwise I'm going to be spending too much time flipping back and forth between pages because my brain wants to make sure I got it straight.
OKay so let me start by saying WOW! I'VE been waiting for this book for a while I finished the 2nd book in a day ugh so mad it was amazing and don't even get me started on the first book which was my absolute favorite one yet but I love them all I really do this book tho man I loved it I'm so obsessed with this series it's not even funny Caden and Yeo PERFECT together what and amazing book you must read all three to fully enjoy these amazing people the Hobson and the Bensons are awesome like y'all seriously read these books I won't get into any spoilers but I must say I can not wait for the next book which I'm guessing is Ray and Dean I pray C. W Gray makes a book for all of them
This is charming read. Caden is a wonderfully dorky Alpha who likes to carry his Angora bunny, Huckleberry, around with him in a front carry-pack. His love interest, Yeo, is sweet and funny. His man-cold scene was hilarious.
This book can be read as a stand-alone- I admit to reading them out of order- but really, Hobson Hills is awash with great people with interesting stories. Oh lordy, the Hot Mess Club staged an intervention and it was so cute. Seriously, there are some super funny kid scenes and a couple of steel magnolias moments that all work out in the best way.
C.W is a really good new author who captures the special-ness of mpreg. I love it and I’m off to read the next one.
OMG! reading about confident Alpha Caden having trouble with "courting" his Omega Yeo was endearing and laugh inducing. To know even the most confident person has problems with romancing their true love is good to know it isn't just us shy people. There were so many good points in this book from the courtship, dealing with nasty family members, finding lost family and reconnecting to a brother you don't know how to talk to, that it is hard to pick a favorite part. I say it in every review, I am so glad to have found this series! It is fun, has loving family and a bunch of LOL moments in between the seriousness and falling in love. What more could you ask for?
Book 3 is Yeo and Caden, Yeo is a single omega father who has moved to Hobson Hills with his son and his sister to start a new life away from really awful family. Caden is the brother of book ones MC and has decided to started his life over as well in Hobson Hills. Yeo and Caden are a cute couple in the cute fluffy series. It just screams quaint norman rockwell new england style with the non-shifter omegaverse twist. I love this world, with the Wilson family, the funny charming grandparents, the benson family and all the sweet townsfolk. A little bit of angst/tension, but very low. Mostly just sweet and fluffy.
As has been the case so far, I just loved the characters in this little universe! :D
The writing seems to be improving in some ways and staying about the same in others, but the stories are enjoyable and give us hope for when times are hard or when people are horrible or when brothers are being idiots... you get the picture! ;p
To be honest, though, I am not sure how my poor, old brain is going to be able to keep up with all of these names... *headdesk* LOL!!!
Side note: Why in the world do I keep seeing the word "thought" instead of "though" in a lot of stories lately? (And I just had to remove the "t" from the end of the word when I typed this sentence... NEVERMIND!)
Love the love story between Caden Benson an oddly passive, yet lovingly possessive alpha and Yeo Cook, a alpha wary omega, that just wants a peaceful place to heal for him, his son and his sister. The easy love that happens between C.W. Grey's characters are what dreams are made of, great HEA. Many new characters have been introduced from Yeo's family, and each of the new characters are being given some depth in their personalities , and this tells me that there's more to come.
Romancing the Omega is the third book in the Hobson Hills Omegas series by C.W. Gray. This is the sweet love story between lawyer turned romance author Caden and CEO turned bookstore owner Yeo. And it's a perfect read when you want a happy heart.
I love all the characters in this story. They are all so colorful and wonderful. I want every single one's story. This story is sweet... with little drama and lots of laughter and smiles. I cant wait for next book.
This is a cute and sweet quick listen that is a great addition to this series. This story centers around Caden, who I met in previous books of the series, and Yeo who is new in town. Caden and Yeo are wonderful together and I especially love Caden. I find him to be incredibly accepting and giving and I love the way he is with not only Yeo, but also his family. The narrator did a pretty good job with the characters and the story, I just wish I could fell a bit more emotion from him. I voluntarily reviewed a gifted copy of this audiobook.
This one was alright, if not predictable. I feel like Caden's personality suffered a bit in this one; I think it jumped around all over the place and we lost the Caden we were introduced to in book one. Not to say he didn't need an attitude adjustment, but it just seemed like he went from one extreme to another without too much explanation. That being said, the romance was cute. I still don't get why this series is labeled as "no angst" when there's clearly angst... But I like the overarching plotline and how all the side characters are fitting into it.
This book was sweet and I have to say I loved the personal relationship. There is a certain plotline that most M/M books follow. But this personalized it. Caden wooing Yeo was nothing big to some people but personal and sweet to him. It was amazing. No roses and fancy dinners. No, the gifts were so much more personal and I absolutely loved it. Their relationship is so supportive of one another. The book made me curious about all the other characters and I cannot wait to read the other books.
Another great addition to the Hobson Hills Omega series. This one was just as cute but it has a more serious story line. I really loved Caden and Yeo and I'm hoping that Yeo's papa, Dean, gets a story. He deserves to get a great alpha who will worship the ground he walks on. I can't wait to read the next book in the series!I read this book using the Kindle Unlimited program.
As I hoped, this was another home run! Suggestion: read the first book, of the series, the characters grow and blend and you'll need to know them all because you'll grow to love and appreciate all of them! Family, friendship, growth, being brave and standing up for oneself, tons of pets, love, family, oh did I mention family? Yup 😊 And someone needs to smile more! I wonder what will happen next. Can't wait to read the next book! 😍
Very cute story and I quite enjoyed the first 75% after that there were too many people and too many names thrown in. And theyall sounded the same so kept getting them all mixed up. Caden, Carter and then Jimmy, Jules, Juan, Jackson. And then theystarted naming everyone's pets too, It was way too much. Plus Ifelt like the boon didn't tie up all the loose ends. But it was a cute romance overall.
