About the author

Edward George Ambrose Haynes was born in 1906 and educated at the Dover County School (now the Dover Grammar School for Boys). He worked as Chief Administrative Assistant for the Metropolitan Borough in addition to writing a number of children's books, and articles for religious publishers, children's annuals and women's magazines.
