A new fantasy novel from the author of "Summoned." Stefan Wolman just wanted to settle down in the village where he grew up and marry his first love. Unfortunately, a corrupt sheriff and incompetent noble are keeping him from taking up his rightful position as village bailiff. Just when things can't seem to get worse, Stefan runs afoul of a wizard, and ends up in the possession of a powerful, evil, talking magic book--a grimoire--which soon takes the form of a very cute, very violent, and very deadly young woman. With the power to crush his enemies, now perhaps Stefan can get rid of the obstacles to the normal life he wanted. But power has a price, using force has consequences, and this grimoire has a mind of her own.
