i decided to pick this short story really quickly and omg 🌝 if you love beauty and the beast retellings but reimagined from the beast’s perspective, read this!

also hello the beast doesn’t turn into a human at the end!!!! ✨ we love to see it ✨ so this story is about this beast who this next-door town fears because he “sends” rain and because of that, the town sends a woman to marry him so he stops messing up with them. she is really committed to be his bride but he has some thoughts about it so!! you’ll see how their relationship develops while they live together.

as i said, this is really short but very enjoyable. the sexy scenes are WOAH. 👀

If you liked Jack Harbon's Beauty, you should enjoy this too. the writing is beautiful and lyrical and it just made me feel so much in such a low page count. I will definitely be reading more from Magen Cubed. 5 out of 5 wine glasses.

familiar and beautifully written, both human and beast so lovable and kind. i loved that it was from the beast’s perspective,, also this setting!! i found myself longing for a simple isolated life like this, even though it would come with hardships, i know. of course, like the others, i picked it up for an nice short read but then i didn’t want it to end :’(

Told in flowing, lovely prose, this short reimagining of Beauty and the Beast is surprisingly soft and gentle—given it's advertised as a monster-fucking story—told from the Beast's point of view. It's a sweet candy read.

short, sweet yet oddly reflective

(Beauty and the Beast but there is no change to human at the end)

Even though it's only 31 pages, it feels like there's a slow build up and the couple take time to trust each other. Probably because the beast has more empathy towards the woman then the village who sacrificed her to him and he understands what consent is. (Not a fan of the barbed *, though.)

Monster fuckers, I welcome you to enjoy a nice little snack with this book.

This book, albeit short, was lovely.

I am a huge fan of Magen Cubed and her world-building. I found myself emotionally invested in this little world within the first few pages. Highly recommended if you're looking for a different type of adult story.
