When what you seek is seeking you... Karan: It all started at a masquerade ball. I took one look at the girl dressed as Cinderella and fell head over heels in love. I was not someone who believed in love. Yet, within a few hours, she made me crave for things I never knew I wanted. I began to equate her presence with happiness. Like a warm breeze on that winter night, she thawed my frozen heart. At midnight, she ran away without telling me who she really was. Just like Cinderella. I was never the same again. I couldn't forget her, but she came visiting only in my dreams. No matter what, I was determined to find her.
Chandni: Karan was not someone I could even dream about. I was a poor orphan, a nobody. He was a billionaire, the hottest bachelor in India, coveted by rich women everywhere. A dance: that was all he asked. But while we danced, I gave him my heart, knowing that the magic would end once he realized my true identity. I was nothing but a cheat. Yet, the magic didn't end that night. A bizarre twist of fate put me in his path again. I had to hide my secret, even though I wished to confess everything to him. Was watching him from afar the only thing that was written in my destiny?

If the die-hard romantics are seeking a cute tale of a couple falling in love with each other, Cinderella-style, then look no further. This Indian style Cinderella adaptation will get you weak in your knees. A pure amalgamation of passion, tragedy, and suspense makes this plot going consistently, and you wish the hero was your real-life hero as well.
The story is of Chandni and Karan, and the narrative is from their point of view (POV), alternatively. Even though it's from various POVs, the shifting in them is very sleek and not at all complicated. Each episode gets more compelling than the previous one, but my most favorite part is where eventually, both of them avow their love for each other. I want to raise a minute warning for adult content, which certainly couldn't be evaded.
I relished myself during the novel as it has a magnificent plot with a stable pace, very intimate circumstances, and yes, a wee bit of magic named fate! Though the tale is anticipated most of the course, yet you do not get irked even once. I couldn't stop reading the book until I completed it, a very light read. The conversations are pretty vivid, which makes it easy to be inside the novel.
Preethi has done outstanding work; she has kept the overall story quite simple, allowing the actors to reveal their account. The title literally describes the whole anecdote. I, however, wish that the book cover could have been a little more pleasant. Other than a few grammatical mistakes, the language of the book is very explicit. The twist, in the end, was surprising, and I was totally amazed.
Overall, exceptional job by Preethi; I would surely recommend this one!
A sweet and appealing variation on the Cinderella theme. Enjoyable read - not difficult to believe that fairy-tales CAN come true. The hero, Karan, is easy to fall for, and Chandni is a darling with spirit, an unbeatable duo they make. The villains are easy to spot and get their comeuppance, thank goodness. The cover is so lovely, I knew I had to read it!
A very sweet and emotional romance. The chemistry between both the protagonists is sizzling and the story line has all the ingredients of a page turner. I loved the twist given to one of the characters at the end. Another winner by Preethi V.
This book has me a little conflicted. As a random Cinderella retelling / love story which I got randomly off Kindle Unlimited (KU) this worked quite well. As a romance story, this had some plotting and writing issues which irked me.
At the start - there is a page long info-dump where the heroine recaps her life story and how she ended up as a maid-for-her-evil-family / Cinderella. It was pretty silly but kind of endearing in it’s own fashion. I’ve seen this before in a lot of self-pub romance novels but it makes me shake my head and wonder why they don't weave it into the plot itself. (Or in a dialogue with the hero where at least the info dump would make sense).
Then they are things like this:
Heroine: “... Dynamics of money fascinate me ...
Hero: Interesting point of view ..”
🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
How is that interesting?! It’s like saying - “I like apples” and someone responding “what an interesting POV” (?!!)
Still since I was kind of expecting the overblown cheese I did enjoy this overall. The writing was OTT and the twist of the plot were silly and kind of unnecessary. Mileage will vary depending on the tolerance for OTT cheese.
3 stars - cute but some parts were quite silly and shaky. I did like the fact that the dress our Cinderella wears to the ball is the same as the cover. Finally - the cover makes sense (even though I hate the dress).
A beautiful story of the first fairy tale that I had heard. The book has an attractive cover. This story has been written in first person from the point of view of Chandni. The characters are well developed and realistic. Chandni is independent and strong. And Karan is the ideal hero. Secondary characters like Chandni’s mother and Sugandhi Iyer make the story more interesting. The story is fast paced, written in a simple language which is easily understandable. I loved the story and would definitely read more from her.
Story though is cute and steady its equally engrossing. Like all other books from Preethi Venugopala this one also finds its place in your heart as a sweet read. You can happily go for it..!!
Preethi’s Cinderella is strong and purposeful. She is no damsel in distress, though she does need saving from her relatives. And Karan her Prince Charming is just around the corner. I loved reading this well written, pacy, romance and recommend it to everyone.
Another hit title by Preethi Venugopala. Once you start reading this book you just cannot put it down. So do not miss it because you are in for a great ride.
Falling for Cinderella by Preethi Venugopala ..... What makes us fall in love with someone? Some wonderful moments enjoyed with each other despite having suppressed despair and angst. ..... In this novel, the author knitted the narrative into 25 chapters describing a girl almost having no support in her family after the death of her parents and grandmother. She as the protagonist is commanded to take the position of a wealthy but spoilt girl on her birthday to lure a bachelor for marriage. Though she wears a mask to suppress her identity from the man she danced with, the situation makes her reveal her identity. ..... She is a bright student and wants to earn some money after she is thrown out of the mansion she was given minuscule support. Coincidentally, the mother of that man keeps her as one of her employees in her charity centre. She is in a dilemma whether she should convey her love to that man or not as she is fearing she is not suitable to be the wife of such a magnificent rich businessman. The man is also tirelessly searching for that masked girl for whom he has already fallen in love. <<<>>> So what happens next? Unwind the romantic journey yourself.
The book feels like a retelling of the Cinderellas story in a beautiful way. . Love at times feel the best thing happening to us, but is it always true that we can have what we want, or it's just a mirage beautiful mirage. . PERSONAL COMMENT : The title is beautiful and apt. The cover is nice. The storyline is good but the plot could have been better and a bit more gripping. The writing style is really beautiful the best part is the character development which is very well done. The main ingredient for romance fiction is the chemistry between the protagonists which is very well captured. . If your loved Cinderella and if you are filmy then you should definitely check this book!
The storyline is poor, you lose the charm after the second chapter itself, but writing skill is good. May be smaller but catchy story would had made it interesting.
Preethi always writes the sweetest prettiest stories (I'm looking at that cover) and this one is no exception. Fairy tales are eternal and Falling for Cinderella proves that argument. Great job, Preethi
Its an amazing mesmerizing love novels I have read. While reading it was just going like a movie in my thoughts. Thank you Preethi ji for such optimistic true love kind of thing.
