Love and marriage is one path Preston Mitchell has no desire to travel down again. His ranch is his life and if a woman cannot appreciate his dedication to it, she has no place in his life. He learned that lesson the hard way when his marriage ended because his wife wanted more. But then a dark-haired beauty enters the diner and he cannot resist having a taste of what she is offering. Discovering the man in her life already has a wife is enough to discourage any woman from taking a chance on another man but when that man is the sexiest cowboy to walk on two legs, Deidra Gates might have to rethink things. Visiting Clifton for Christmas is a wonderful way to get past her disappointment but when she decides it might be a place to start anew, how a certain man feels about it plays heavily into her decision-making. Feelings are dangerous and making assumptions even more so. When Deidra reminds Preston she is leaving after the holidays, his response is not what she hopes for so she prepares to have her heart broken. Preston fears having his heart ripped to shreds by yet another woman so keeps his feelings to himself, only what happens when the heart wants what it wants?
Susan was born and raised in a small town in the western part of Maryland surrounded by the Appalachian mountains. She moved to Tennessee in 1996 with her husband and two children. She's been writing for as long as she can remember and is currently writing three different series. The Men of Clifton Montana which will be seven stories and The Bad Boys of Dry River will be six stories. The Callahans will be about four cousins. Although it is best to read the stories in order, all can be read as standalone. She is also writing four standalone books. Excerpts from her books can be read on her webpage: susanfisherdavisauthor.weebly.com and you can also sign up for her newsletter there. Susan tries to thank each person for their review. You can't find two individuals who needed to get together more than these two
I loved the character of Deidra. She not only was an amazing person, but she loved her family and had a good heart. I also loved that she was a woman who knew what she wanted. She knew that she wasn't in the right frame of mind to have a relationship but she wouldn't mind getting to know a certain cowboy. I really enjoyed reading about her relationship with her sisters and aunt and uncle. To me, this really spoke to the the type of woman she was.
Preston is also someone who isn't looking for love but he's not going to turn down a good time especially with Deidra who is only in town for a couple of weeks. Preston is a good man, a hard worker and a wonderful boss. I liked seeing him interact with the different men that was mentioned in the book. You knew that he took his friendships seriously.
The part I really liked about this book was the whole book was them getting to know each other. There were the times they talked to each other about family, about their jobs and how they came to be. It was like us readers got to know both of them as they were getting to know them.
Another 5 star read from Susan Fisher Davis. I have been waiting for Preston's story and Ms. Davis delivered an awesome story. I felt so bad for him after his ex wife left. He turned to nothing but working his ranch and decided to not become emotionally involved with a woman again. In comes Deidra. She's been in a bad relationship also. Neither want anything more than a good time between the sheets but what starts out as fun, slowly turns into something else. Both deny their feelings for each other and the communication between them breaks down. At times I wanted to reach through and smack some sense into them but this was exactly what they both needed to forge ahead to their future together. I loved seeing characters from the previous stories in this series, especially Sam!!! This book will give you all the feels and emotions and will end just how you hoped it would. Love it!!
Another story in the series in the same style stage others. Sexy cowboy not wanting a commitment falls deeply in love. I do wish however that the style varied a little. It is the same actions and sweet talking dialogue, even the description of the men's straight noses and thick sweeping eyelashes are the same. These men are clones of each other. Oh for a crooked nose or scar on the cheek! But Preston is perfect. The women are always obviously drop dead gorgeous of course and Deidra is no exception. She falls into bed immediately after meeting Preston but both want no ties. So we can see where the confusion will come from! It is becoming boring now.
Preston Men of Clifton, Montana: Fantastic story! I loved how Preston was about love. It's sad what he went through with his Mom and ex wife and assumed that ball women were like them. I could tell Deidra was different when she first came into town. She loved the outdoors and animals. They were perfect for each other and even though they both had bad relationships in the past and they hesitated but starting anything because of how they were great in the past. Fantastic writing and a wonderful love story with hot cowboys and beautiful women. I really enjoyed this story and all the challenges that they put themselves through.
Deidra is going to Montana to spend Christmas. She is still trying to get over her relationship and decides she is done for awhile. That is until she sees Preston. Preston runs the ranch his dad left him. He has swore off relationships after his ex wife left. Deidra really gets his motor running though. Preston and Deidra are having an amazing time but when she says she is staying, there is a communication breakdown and she goes home. Will Preston open his eyes and get her back?
This is another great Cowboy from Susan Fisher Davis. Preston Mitchell is a rancher....there’s no time for relationships or love....especially since he tried it and it ended badly. Enter Deidra Gates, a beautiful & sexy woman who catches Preston’s attention. The heat between them builds, but will things combust to a level they’re not ready for?? I couldn’t put this book down...it drew me in and kept me there. I highly recommend you pick this up and read it....Loved Preston Mitchell.
Preston is man who was burn by his first wife , believed he believe she love him but ,only his money but not
ranch .He will no longer make a commitment to a woman , he have one night stand but that’s it ,Deidra was a man for awhile that fines him with his wife . So these two people decide to be together with no strings, but these change . Great book 📕👍🏽💯.
I chose this rating because this is actually a pretty great book. I enjoyed all of the characters. This was a book of compassion kindness, protection, perception, stubbornness, realizing you are loved and worthy of being loved. I enjoyed Preston and Deidra story. The author did an amazing job we're putting these characters together. Preston he was stubborn but then he realized that he is worthy of being love. Great read! I recommend this book to all romance readers.
Wow, These should be the Men and Women of Clifton Montana. They all started out with broken hearts. The ladies are looking for that right man. Everyone is afraid of love because they have been hurt. The love scenes are wild and romantic. In the end you bring it together. I love these books.
She loved Montana so much to draw and her job could be done anywhere. There were so many sexy cowboys to choose from but all she wanted was sex no strings. The one she chose or who chose her was gorgeous tall and sexy. When they got together the sex was out of this world but they both agreed no strings. Enjoy
Preston and Diedra are two characters who know how to let the rmotion ride you threw amazing journey. Being hurt. Deceived and left can sure leave your heart harden. Susan Fisher Davis just keeps bringing them and each books just keeps you wanting more
Great reading about Preston running his ranch but not looking for love because he divorced, his ex didn't like ranch life. When he meets Diedra they agree on no commitment. Full of life and love.
Love these cowboy romance stories ,easy to get into , no boring chapters all the characters are likeable apart from the obvious exes ,quick read but will read the others from the series
