Wowser, right out of the gate! This one, more or less, features Riley O'Connor. She is is told that a friend of hers, who she went through the Academy with, has committed suicide. Riley isn't buying it. She arranges time off and she and Beckett head to DC, where her friend was stationed. slight problem, no sooner do they get started looking into it at the FBI field office, when Riley gets kidnapped. By an FBI agent! First order of business is to rescue Riley and that doesn't prove to be too difficult. The big question is, if Riley's friend was murdered, why would the FBI cover it up? And why would they impede an investigation? Answering these questions is part of what makes this such a good read. The more they check, the higher up the chain, the cover up goes. Could it possible go all the way to the White House?

Another Winner!

I love these kinds of books---grabs you right from the start! You don't have to read 20 pages to get interested and you read it slowly because you know when it is finished it will be a while before you get another one! Love the characters , fast-moving story line!!

I read 42% and just couldn't get interested enough to continue reading. The characters didn't engage me, the plot seemed vague and formulaic, and the writing style (vocabulary, structure, etc.) was bland and ordinary.
