Timi Waters is a West African writer. Her love for psychology and thought-provoking books led her into asking questions, finding answers, and asking more questions.
While Haven is her first published work, Timi has written and published short stories which featured in international bestselling anthologies. Her eBooks, The Red Lines Trilogy topped OkadaBooks and Bambooks bestseller charts for weeks.
When Timi is not writing, she’s poring over non-fiction and psychological thrillers, hosting tea parties with her characters, and lip-syncing to Nicki Minaj and Eminem’s rap.
A really beautiful book, head on to this link: https://wordpress.com/view/thereaders... to view my delightful review on Red Lines. Timi Waters is a budding writer you should look out for
I met this author on Instagram and became curious about her writing and work especially as I am currently in search of fresh new authors I may like. So I decided to purchase her novel (which is the first in a trilogy) and only got the chance to read it recently. I purposely decided not to read any reviews of the book which means I went into this with zero expectations.
‘Red Lines’ is a multi-themed and action packed story which follows the affluent Ajibade twins, Folu & Fola, co-owners of the Bade Inc. Company which they inherited from their parents. Both men are bull headed goal getters and have had their share of disagreements over several issues but this eventually reaches a climax when they both meet the same girl, the beautiful Bekere on the same day although on different occasions and fall in love. Bekere is a simple homely girl who works as a pre-school teacher and is passionate about her job and the children under her care. As she crosses paths with the Ajibade twins, her somewhat easy and simple life suddenly becomes complicated as she finds herself in the middle of a feud which gets worse as time rolls by. This is a story about toxic sibling rivalry, lust, betrayal, abuse, control and deep secrets.
This book started as a slow burn for me but by the time I got to the third chapter, I was hooked. I just couldn’t stop reading because I was eager to know what would happen next. It almost felt like I was watching an action packed movie that keeps you at the edge of your sit. The writing was good and the story line was fluid although It would have been better if a cleaner editing job was done which is one of the major reasons I didn’t give it a 5 star rating. Also I can not say there was a character I particularly liked in this story because I found almost everyone on the extreme side of things. The protagonist, Bekere I really wanted to like and root for but I couldn’t relate with some of the choices she made. Nevertheless, this is was a fantastic read and I highly recommend it to all fiction lovers. I am currently reading the second book in this series (Waiting On Two Red Lines) and it is already blowing my mind so watch out for my review of this book soon.
This book was so worth it! The title matched the story, and the cover caught my eye for sure. How the story is about if love can even be possible. Because in this story that was the BIG question. Also the man and his twin brother....wow! Backstabbing and betrayal are a for sure belong in this title. I will not spoil this book. It was worth the 400 pages!
Red Lines is the first part of a trilogy that tells the story of three people; Bekere, Fola, and Folu.
Bekere Bodmas, a preschool teacher, wants the simple things in life, marry a good man, and raise a family.
Folorunsho Ajibade, a successful entrepreneur, had everything money could buy, except what he truly wants—a woman to love him despite being born with cryptorchidism (undescended testicles)
Folarin Ajibade, Folu’s twin, had everything, wealth, good looks, and a clean bill of health. But he secretly battles with deep-seated loneliness and loathing for his twin.
This loathing sprang from a feeling of parental neglect—Folu enjoyed more of his parent’s attention due to his condition—which Fola believes was the reason his nanny sexually abused him as a child.
Bekere was instantly drawn to Folu when she met him at the mall. That same evening, she met Fola at a balmy restaurant, and he too felt an instant attraction to her.
When the twin brothers discovered they shared a love for the same woman, an all-consuming battle ensued.
Folu, knowing the odds were against him, employed the art of manipulation, bribery, and deception.
Red Lines ended with Bekere discovering a shocking secret about her husband a few hours after their wedding.
Red Lines is available on Amazon KDP.

An interesting plot of twins fighting over the same girl. I was confused a lot because the twins names are so similar— Folu and Fola, and it was hard to know who was who for a long while. The main female character, Bakare, has a somewhat confused personality, and it was difficult to connect with her. The romance was good the few times we got to see Folu and Bakare together. I’m not a fan of family members fighting for the same love interest, and I thought I would not like this books But it was a good read. It ended with a cliffhanger— also not my cup of tea. Overall an enjoyable plot that could have possibly been better executed. I’ll read more from the author.
This book made me blush. Especially the book two of it. The story is about Bekere, a calm and gentle preschool teacher who doesn’t want Wahala. And the Ajibade twins, Folu and Fola, two highly competitive twin brothers.
When Bekere met Folu, she was sure she couldn’t date a guy like him because he was everything she didn’t want in a man. Only for her to meet his twin, Fola on the very same day and mistook him for Folu.
The big drama began when this twin brothers found out they were attracted to her. As competitive as they were, none of them was willing to take the back seat on this. They brought all the heat, drama, and hilarious antics into their fight for ownership.
Ha, this book opened my eyes to the wonders of marital choices. It explored themes such as male infertility, sexual attraction, lust, obsession, and the crippling effect of guilt.
It is a pleasurable read. One I wish to see turned into a movie. And if I’m to choose the cast, I’d recommend Ayo Ayoola of TMC to play Folu and Fola. He has the vibe. 😁
This was a neatly crafted, vocabulary rich work of fiction. I especially loved how the story was gradually developed. It made all the characters vivid and relatable. I look forward to reading more books from this author.
