A foreword on the subject of 'Time', plus 19 tales based on the theme. This collection includes Sci-Fi, Humour, Mystery, Suspense, Fact-based fiction and more. The tales have an international flavour and provide an opportunity for you to see how a variety of authors treat 'Time' as a theme.
I bought this collection knowing I wouldn’t be disappointed. Tom Benson has a gift for writing tales that keep me gripped, whatever the genre. And this collection has the added bonus of superb short stories by some of my favourite indie authors. I enjoyed them all, though I particularly loved the typical quirkiness of Sylvia Fae’s two stories, and Rebecca Bryn’s mystical and poetic journey through time itself. I was mesmerised by the compelling horror story ‘The New Beginning’ by Theresa Jacobs, and ultimately amused by the cleverly unexpected ending in ‘Time Flies’ by Lucinda E. Clarke. And Tom Benson’s stories, saved till last, were each sparkling little masterpieces in their own right, as I’d guessed they would be. Every story in this collection has a different way of connecting with the overall theme of time, and all are brilliant examples of the authors’ work. I should add that the foreword by Millie Slavidou, is a fascinating and erudite essay on the meaning of time, and a worthy introduction to the collection. It is no mean feat to bring together a disparate group of writers, all with a different style and viewpoint, and this book earns five grateful stars from me for brightening up the first chilly and otherwise gloomy days of October.
A FUN SET OF DIVERSE STORIES It’s not often I buy a book of short stories written by different authors, but this one caught my eye. All based on the idea of ‘Time’ the subject was approached in a number of very different ways. A good book to take to bed and devour another tale or two before switching off the lights.
An imaginative and easy-to-read anthology of short stories that had me turning pages in the wee hours of the night. I've read some of the authors in the anthology before, such as Tom Benson, and found new ones to follow. Sylva Fae's stories are always charming.
