This was a short quick read from a new author too me. Keller is the President of the MC he is tired of messing around with the woman hanging around the club. Keller finds Gretchen unconscious and beaten on his doorstep and instantly knows she is his and he will protect her. This was a quick read that I wished was longer. Gretchen can't believe that the man she was in love with killed her sister. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling.

I read this book, and I’m sorry that I didn’t enjoy it as much as I hoped I would.
The premise of the story is really good, and I do feel that with some revisions, it has real potential.
I understand how difficult short story writing is, and how hard it can be getting a story across in such a limited number of words. However, I feel that rushing into their relationship, and not giving the characters time to establish themselves was a major issue for me.
Him falling for her straight away, and getting into a sexual relationship when she had been so badly beaten did not feel right to me. Their sexual exploits throughout the whole story distracted from the story you were trying to tell. Trust me, I love reading sex scenes just as much as the next person, but when they start taking away from the growth of the story, then I do worry.
Next, and this is a personal one for me, I really do not like the “having sex in front of the brothers“ thing. In my head, if he’s that alpha, no way will he want anyone seeing what’s his. He'd already beaten on the prospect for demeaning her, so I cannot see, in good faith, how he would be ok with fucking her in a room full of brothers.
I also had an issue with how quickly she fell into a sexual relationship with him. She was beaten really badly by her ex, and watched him kill people. I can’t therefore believe that 1 or 2 days into her stay at the clubhouse she’s already knocking boots with the president of the club, regardless of whether they had insta-feelings for each other. Starting chapters with “I’ve been here several weeks now......” would have helped to keep the storyline more realistic, while also moving things on and making their relationship that much more realistic.
It seems that the men in the club do nothing but drink and f%$k. No matter what time of day the bar is mentioned, there are guys and girls drinking and fucking. Even at breakfast time. Again, this is a personal thing, but if you are wanting to write a series, I would expect the characters to have jobs/roles within and outside the bar area, in order to make a connection with your characters. This seems especially important to a non-1% club, because otherwise how do they make their money.
I’m sorry if this sounds disheartening, it’s not meant to. I just want your book to be the best it can. The story is actually really good, and you have all the characters in play, including the secondary females who help capture her in the mall.
You also seem to have a pretty good understanding if the MC hierarchy, which can sometimes be forgotten. Expanding on these would make the story even more exciting.

I rarely give a bad rating on a book and my hobby is supporting authors and their work in the book world . I enjoy that more than anything else. I have also read well over 400 books in 2020 alone so far . Unfortunately I did not enjoy this book and I hate to say that but I have to be honest .
It reads like a grocery list , not a story . The writing is choppy, rushed , and places I feel should have a bit more description does not .
The characters are flat and underdeveloped. The timeline is almost non existent . The story reads like the woman sees her sister killed , gets beaten, ends up at the MC gates , and a couple of hours later she’s in love with Kellan and they are having sex. Who sees their sister beheaded and has sex with a stranger and falls in love the same day she runs from her boyfriend that she loves ?
Then where was the chemistry? Yes the characters had sex and yes they say they fell in love but as the reader I felt no emotion from them .
The hero is supposed to be very alpha and possessive but how can he publicly have sex in front of his club and let everyone see that if he is so possessive over her ? I know the author says this can happen and is but just because you say it doesn’t make it true .
It is the end of the road for me with this writer . This is just not something I would enjoy reading more of . I wish her the best and hopefully with time will come

I loved this book. The characters were amazing and their interaction was great. The storyline was amazing and wonderfully written. With that being said this is my first book by April and I really, really enjoyed it. I’m looking forward to more books in the series.

Story just needed more development
This storyline was initially appealing, gripping action from the first scenes. Unfortunately, as the story unfolded, it faltered. It follows that a violent incident brought Gretchen (heroine) to Keller (hero), the head of a non-trouble-making motorcycle club. Keller immediately decides she’s the one for him. She likewise decides she has fallen in love with him.
Good exchange of dialogue, the story was easy to read, nice flow, and the book was not overly prosy. While I enjoyed the ease of reading, the words were sometimes repetitive. I recall reading, for example, lines describing Keller written four times, almost identically. Additionally, Keller’s language rang as feminine, not something a man would say and certainly not the lead alpha of a MC.
The story needed some depth in character and plot development. I didn’t experience build-up of chemistry, an attraction, or story development that would make it believable that these two perfect strangers were so into each other as to have even fallen in love immediately. In fact, their first introduction took place when the heroine was traumatically injured. Insta-love is fine if believable. I couldn’t get a sense of connection with the characters or personalities and their stories.
The length was good; It was an accessible read even if the pace was quite fast.
Overall, I applaud this author’s confidence in writing. This story just needed a little more

I enjoyed this story. It was pretty fast paced, which I don't usually mind, but sometimes you felt like only a little time had passed but you later discovered more time had passed. It also felt a little rushed. The story definitely could have been a bit longer, and I would have thoroughly enjoyed that, because that just means more fun content to read. It was a pretty fast read, which isn't a bad thing, it just means it won't last as a long read. The characters were interesting, the main male character was fun and desirable, and definitely drool worthy, the main female character left a little to be desired. She was a bit all over the place, and it felt like a constant back and forth and not necessarily in a good way, with. How she behaved and her personality. The steamy scenes were fun, and if you want some smut, this is definitely a great choice for a quick smutty read.

Really enjoyed this book! I feel like it’s rare to find an insta love MC book where the hero is devoted to his girl but this book has it all! Keller finds Gretchen unconscious and beaten on his doorstep and instantly knows she is his and he will protect her. They were so cute together. I wish it didn’t end so soon but sounds like we will be seeing more of them in a future story! The beginning scene with the sister was a little too gruesome for me despite liking dark romances this just seemed a little unnecessary. Otherwise this was my first book I’ve read by April and I’ve really enjoyed and look forward to more books in the future!

Wow! This book was fast-paced and packed with a lot all at once. The only reason I am giving the book a 4-star rating is that I would have liked to have seen it slowed down. April does a great job at making you understand the characters and love them. Sexy and steamy scenes prevailed and overall a great story to read!

Keller is the president of the Dirty Daggers MC. Gretchen had got into some trouble with the mob and was on the run. Keller finds Gretchen unconscious on his doorstep and when he sees her he feels an instant attraction for her. This is my first book by April and I enjoyed this fast paced, action packed insta-love MC story.

I loved this story. I think that April did an amazing job for her first of many MC’s. I love the insta. One that Keller and Gretchen had. They said love can start just from a glance. I love that it was a quick read. Keller’s alpha personality was awesome. I loved and laughed at a couple of the scenes of them together. I think that there were things that were started in this book which will be explained in future books. I think that April is a very talented writer and this book is one I couldn’t put down expect when my children needed something. I can’t wait to see what is next. Absolutely highly recommend this book

Over all I liked Keller’s story. It’s a short story with a lot going on and fast paced. MC, Mafia/Cartel and lots of steaminess. Gretchen and Keller have an insta-love connection but her past is threatening to destroy it before they get a real chance.

Their relationship may have started off quick, that is what happens in Insta-Love romances. The chemistry between them is amazing.
I did put a warning in my book stating there are triggers. There is one part that is controversal and I have read other books that have had similar scenes. My alpha male does indeed have sex with his Ol'Lady in front of his men. That doesn't mean he isn't Alpha enough or that it shouldn't be in there.
I hope that y'all enjoy my book.

I liked the storyline, and I liked Keller, I know this is an instalove, but I felt the actions to be a little far fetched, who in their right mind are going to want sex after being nearly beaten to death. I know this is a short read but I think the chapters could have been seen as months instead of real time, that would have been better in my mind. But overall I did enjoy this.
I am looking forward to reading more as I am sure Ms Baker will go from strength to strength.

I received an ARC and I'm freely reviewing.
So, the premise caught my attention. First chapter, I thought hmm, ok. Second chapter, I thought I hope I like her later. I don't. I was able to finish the book, I struggled with this review so much. This isn't a huge book, but this isn't for me. It wasn't because of MC or "that lifestyle" I just didn't care for the characters or the writing style. Gretchen is not for me. There were too many problems with timing and what was said then, someone would flip the script and do opposite of what they said in the paragraph prior. No, thank you.

July 24, 2022It all just happens too fast! Even though the descriptions made things a bit slow. If that makes sense. Not a quote but for example: I need to take a shower. I walked to the bathroom. Opened the door. Closed the door then turned the lock. Put the water on to let it warm up. I took off my shirt and threw it on the floor. Then I unbuckled my belt so I could take off my jeans. I can’t stop thinking about her. I’ve only known her a few hours but she’s mine, I’m in love with her and will never let her go…

I feel like I have read this book by here before but some things I don't remember. I did love this book though. It made remember that I have such a strong love for Motorcycle Romance and need to do a deep dive soon. I absolutely love Keller he can be such a teddy bear but when he needs to he can be serious. Even though it could upset Gretchen I can understand that but I can also understand why he has gotten stern with her. He did it because he loves and cares for her and just wants to keep her safe. Their relationship is just beautiful snd very sexy.

This quick to read start to a new MC series had me reading it straight through! Gretchen and Keller’s story is fast-paced and sinfully arousing. The secondary characters were well written. While some readers may not care for the insta-love storyline or the forewarned triggers, this is just one of many such books already out in the book world. Not all books are for every reader, hence why there's so many genres to choose from. I'm looking forward to more books in this new MC series.

I wasn’t sure if I would like this book. I haven’t really been into MC but man was I proven wrong! Keller is THE alpha male and Gretchen got caught up in some shady mob stuff. Fate brings her to Keller front door. Let’s just say that things get pretty hot and steamy! Gretchen’s past comes back to haunt her and won’t let her go, but her knight in shining armor will do anything to keep her safe. This is a must read! You won’t be disappointed!

Great book

Great read
Really enjoyed this book, it's been too long since I got to read a good story and this just eased me nicely back into the genre. Just the right amount of sweet, savage and sexy.

Best way to describe Keller, is fast love rolled into an MC story. I felt at times I had skipped a page or two as the story at times was a bit fast.
