Callum Craigdon isn’t your typical alpha male. Sure, he’s good looking, charming and sexy as hell, but until recently, he was in training to be a Catholic priest. Now his billionaire father has died and left him ten million dollars. The only problem is, he’s about to take a vow of poverty.

Three years earlier, Grace Gunning’s life fell apart when her husband was killed in a tragic accident. His parents still hold her responsible. Turning to alcohol to ease the pain, she’s now lost custody of her kids. Still haunted by her past, but determined to get her life back on track, she turns to Callum for help. Can she find the strength and courage to do what she needs to regain custody of her children? And where does the gorgeous priest-in-training fit in? Is he a second chance at love sent from heaven, or is that only wishful thinking?

Callum is book one in the new series by Chris Taylor called The Craigdon Family Dynasty. At the reading of the wills of Henry Craigdon, Callum received a gift from his father. Callum was not sure what to do; he always thought he would become a priest. Callum mentor at the seminary asked him to have a break and volunteer at local food Kitchen he meets Grace Gunning. Straightway Callum new that Grace was special and hiding something and Callum wanted to help. The readers of Callum will continue to follow Callum and Grace to find out what happens.

Wow, Callum is fantastic to start to a new series by Chris Taylor. I engaged with the plot of Callum and was unable to put the book down until the last page. I love Chris Taylor portrayal of her characters and the way they intertwine with each other throughout this book. I enjoyed the twist that Chris Taylor put into this book. Callum is well written and researched by Chris Taylor. Chris Tylor excellently did the description of the settings of Callum that allowed me to imagine being part of the plot. I also love the cover of this book.

The readers of Callum will learn about the role of family law solicitor. Also, the readers of Callum will understand the devastation of when parents favour one child over another.

I recommend this book.

I LOVED THIS BOOK AND I MARVELLED AT GRACE'S DETERMINATION. Grace had been dealt a crappy hand when she married her husband, her wealthy in-laws never accepted her and thought she was utter trash, and then her husband died and she was homeless and left with only a little money to try to get her two children back from her in-laws. Grace had been an alcoholic had lost it and, she had scared her children when she didn't wake up but had been sober for a year. I loved that from an early age Callum had honored his dad's advice and studied to become a priest, but on his death Callum's had a change of heart once he agreed to work in a soup kitchen and fell in love with Grace.

I am voluntarily leaving a review after receiving an ARC from Hidden Gems.

This was light easy read. It was almost a clean romance but there is a low heat spice scene. There really isn't an antagonist to the story. There are scenes of conflict but no really drama to the story.

Grace is a recovering alcoholic who is working on getting her life back. Callum just inherited a sizable amount of money from his late father. Callum had decided to become a priest and with his inheritance, is he rethinking his decision. Callum's mentor sends his to volunteer at a soup kitchen where Callum meets Grace.

Soup Kitchen Romance

A wealthy businessman dies. His will strangely excludes ceetain members of his family, favouring unexpected ones. One son, born very sickly, was promised to God by this desperate father at his birth. This story recounts some of the repurcussions of the reading of the will. I enjoyed the story but doubted that a potential priest would have broken God's laws.

Love it!

The story line was just perfect and had so much suspense to. I wish that it would continue with another book of Callum and Grace. Wedding and the children. And the making of the new kitchen.

Really great story on forgiveness

Great story line. I enjoyed it. The only draw back is it ended too soon and some unanswered questions. Will continue series and hopefully they will answer even though the main character is different!
