Rape. Death. Injustice.

Bellevue Springs is not the place I thought it was going to be.

Meeting Colton Carrington has changed my life but the jury is still out on how he changed it. Good … bad? I guess I’ll find out. I live in a dark world, but he was a darkness that was welcomed, a darkness that I certainly wasn’t prepared for.

Missing people. A dead billionaire. Gang war. Sexism.

When does it end?

Nic is bearing down on me. He wants me back in Breakers Flats where he can protect me, but I can’t walk away, not now that the secrets are finally starting to spill. People aren’t who they say they are and being careful in a rich man’s world becomes more important than ever before.

Will I survive this or am I destined to fail?

All I know is that death has never come so close and for the first time in my life … I’m f*cking terrified.

I thought book 1 was a mess by the time I finished it but thought maybe things would get better on book 2, but... not really... it actually got worse?

Now I know we all deal with trauma differently but it really bugged me how the rape became an after thought and wasn't really taken seriously by anyone, not even Ocean. She told Colton several times that his friend was a rapist and questioned his relationship with him, knows that Colton is somehow involved in a rape cover up, is eventually raped by this guy and all she feels is sad because Colton lost his dad when Colton gives zero fucks about what she just went through. Never mind that he literaly told this guy in book 1 she was "free game" and kept him around knowing what he was like.

I honestly couldn't put up with all the whiny monologue about poor Colton and how despite knowing he treated her like shit she just couldn't move past their fairytale night. Fairy tale what now? The guy didn't let you work and told you you were attending this party despite your protests, and the big fairy tale was dancing one song with him and kissing him in front of the guests? That in no way shape or form makes up for all the shit, so for her to class this as a big love story just makes her sound delusional..

Sorry for the ranting I am just appalled by what I have read.... for being such a tough bitch she sure let Colton walk all over her and kept coming back for more.

Sheridan Anne has done more than put together a masterpiece for this book. She somehow out did herself on this book trumping book 1 which was my favorite book she has written. She heightened everything from the last book leaving you with wanting more. She intensified the mystery taking the whole plot to the extreme. It was such an extraordinary rollercoaster literally to the last page. I still can not believe what I read. It was everything you wanted and needed but still left you yearning for more once you finish.
The story picks up right as book 1 ended on that devastating cliff hanger. Ocean is pretty much one of the gutsiest female heroines I have read about. She does not like to show feelings but has no problem putting you in line if she feels you deserve it. Saying she wears her heart on her sleeve wouldn’t be right. She’s as tough as nails but you know she loves harder than she showcases. She is a very passionate driven individual always putting others wants and needs above her own. Colton is trying to navigate being a CEO at 18 and still wanting to be a teenager. Hard to do that and inherit a billion dollar company and inheritance.
The emotions experienced by Colton and Ocean are as raw as ever and everything is put out on the table. She finds out she’s been lied to, not a few white lies, but her entire life. She learns secrets about the past that change her entire world. And the ending. Wow. This is one heck of a follow up book and now my favorite. Get ready you won’t regret reading this. I highly recommend this series so you can fall in love with O and all her boys.

And so the plot thickens. This book continued on from the last cliffhanger and we get to see the evolution of Colton and Ocean's relationship. This book had it all violence, mayhem, deaths, angst and steamy HOT sex! Sheridan spins a brilliant tale and leaves you hanging for more... bring on Barbie Bi*ch because I don't know how much more of these torturous cliffhangers I can take!

I really enjoyed the first book in this series as I felt a kinship with Ocean, the female mc. After reading a plethora of stories that featured insipid and weak female characters, I found her "take no bs" and "give as good as I get" defiance very refreshing. I was howling with laughter during some parts of the story as she dished out epic smack downs to peeps who were foolish enough to take her on. She genuinely did not give a f**k.

Did some of that defiance tip over into brattiness? Sure, but I felt like her age, life experiences and environment kind of justified the behaviour.

Things were going quite swimmingly until book 2 and then things took a turn i.e Ocean's hyper sensitivity with pretty much everyone started to wear thin.

The straw that broke the camel's back for me was the flimsy reasoning behind her decision to banish Nic and the boys from her life. She grew up with those boys and knew them intimately (2 of them biblically) yet, when s**t went down, she pulled the 'get out of my life' card. WTF??

Ocean was fully aware that her best friends were deeply entrenched in gang life, hell, she was even boastful about it in the 1st book. What did she think was going to happen? That they'd all grow up and settle into a mundane 9 to 5 existence and become entrepreneurs? Pfft...

And her reason for casting them aside? They were privy to information about her father and they also withheld their initial reason for befriending her. Was there a breach of trust? Absolutely. Does it justify the response? In my view, they amply demonstrated their affection and care for Ocean so the answer is, no. Colton and his wealthy brethren treated her worse in my humble opinion yet she was willing to overlook their short comings.

Another thing I found inconsistent about her reasoning was the, 'I want a better life for myself' excuse. Now, I'm all for people bettering themselves and removing toxic influences from their life but Ocean's 360° switch felt clumsy and elitist. Almost like she'd experienced the good life and developed a distaste for anything connected to her former life.

She wasn't bettering herself education wise or setting serious goals for her future (outside of wanting to get a job). I suppose she did manage to coax Colton into giving her a pay rise but, is that your idea of "living a better life"? Working as a housekeeper for your billionaire boyfriend? Towards the end of the story, I was rolling my eyes so hard it put a genuine strain on my optic nerve.

And the supporting characters, WTF!! I've never experienced such a collection of sociopaths. 🙄 Jude (Colton's best friend) is a rapist. Colton's father, mother and sisters - just vile (what scum bag buys a girl to cover a debt and don't get me started on Colton's psychopathic mom setting fire to his dad's coffin in front of witnesses). In fact, most of the people in this book came across as severely dysfunctional. Way too much drama for me. I prefer my freaks kept to a minimum.

Colton and ocean literally pull at my heart strings throughout this book!! The speeches these two say to each other throughout literally melts my heart!! Basically, these two gave me all the feels 🤗 but at the same time they had me cracking up, the playful banter between them is just as infectious to read and the way their fighting lights a fire inside them both makes great reading material 🔥😍 .. there may have been several times when I wanted to throat punch Colton, all the back and fourth, hot and cold was starting to grate on me 😂... my heart is a little broken from certain revelations towards to end 😔💔 I really hope things change but alot of redeeming is needed.. that ending pissed me off!! I really dislike them lol .. this book was one massive rollercoaster, I bloody loved it!! 🙌🏼

The much anticipated second novel of this series, and trust me.... it was worth the wait.
The storyline becomes more evolved, while also answering some of the questions from book one.
All of the much loved characters are back, with a few new ones (and some losses).
The sex scenes are sizzling hot 🥵, I thought I might combust at one point!

Another amazing book by Sheridan Anne. I’m literally foaming at the mouth waiting on book 3!!!!!

Cocky F*ck by Sheridan Anne is a dark high school bully romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Lessa Lamb. This is the second book in the Rejects Paradise series.

The book does come with a warning "Rejects Paradise is a Young Adult / New Adult Dark High School Bully Romance series. It features dark themes and mature content."

I absolutely love Sheridan's books! I was hooked from the first chapter and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. I absolutely love Oceania! She went through so much in this book but she is still standing with her head held high!

I can't wait for the next book in the series Barbie B*tch to be released on audio so I can get more of Oceania story.

Lessa did an amazing job on the narration. She really knows how to bring a story to life. I could feel all the emotions that Oceania went through. I can't wait to listen to more of her work in the future.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves dark romances, bully romances, or young adult romances.

Sheridan Anne wows yet again with the follow-up sequel to her juggernaut Reject’s Paradise series debut. This series continues to blow me away. Totally addictive! We have that same deep bench of complex characters, but even more emotional complexity, double the angst, and a whole lot of drama, tension, and suspense that had me flying through pages.

While dealing with the emotional blowout of the epic finale of the first book, Ocean is in hard core coping and processing mode. We have a murder mystery on her hand with ties to her past, information that leaves her unsure about what do with. Both her and Colton have experienced brutal trauma, in Ocean’s case more than once. Both are left reeling - Colton now heading up a huge business empire as a high school senior, and Ocean is once again reevaluating her place in this world- even more so, trying to figure out her relationship with Colton, which seems to have reverted back to square 1. And, the more she tries to live into this new world, the more her relationships are strained with her original crew- giving us a whole bunch of interpersonal dynamics that are rapidly and quickly evolving. Meanwhile Ocean continues to discover more secrets, and rack up enemies. Jude is still at large, Colton is still hot and cold, her principal is still a jerk, and new families from within Colton’s family emerge. Add into the mix that Colton himself has new and incredibly formidable enemies determined to see his downfall, both from within and without his ranks, and we have quite a page turner on our hands. I won’t divulge much more because there are so many twists and turns, so much deceit and secrets, that you should experience it with fresh eyes. But, hang on, the ride is still fast and furious!

While I love Sheridan’s grittiness in this series, her ability to deliver jaw dropping moments and weave such a complicated and dark world web, it is the character dynamics that continues to sparkle for me. So many characters with unclear motivations, with unpredictable emotional reactions. We have stability and comfort in Milo, but even he brings some surprises to the stable this time. Colton and Ocean still have that incredible draw- although in this book they are more two steps forward one step back. We don’t quite progress their relationship as much as I expected, mostly because both characters have so much going on at first to really confront what is between them, and they have a huge setback as this story begins. I’m looking forward to deepening their connection next book now we have a new dynamic between them, and I feel like I don’t yet fully know all that goes on inside Colton’s head- so as trust deepens between them, I’m looking forward to understanding some of his actions more. And this Widows? I never know what to expect.

The action in the first part of the book is a bit slower than the second half- this is more about character connection, about dealing with the emotional and personal wreckage of book 1, and creating new relationship dynamics for Ocean with a number of characters that will shape this story. I liked the emotional focus, letting the trauma, tragedy, and mystery of book 1’s climax sit to build some suspense and to create some emotional heaviness that causes once stable, or at least once progressing, relationships to seem a bit more erratic. I love the push-pull, although I definitely started to get frustrated at Colton’s emotional ambivalence. Him and Ocean felt stuck in an unbreakable pattern for a bit of Colton pushing away and hurting, Ocean vacillates between hurt but unconditional support for him despite his hanger and totally warranted anger. I also wanted him to be more sensitive, attentive to what happened to Ocean- but his intentional distancing from her means she’s very much alone in that, which hurt. In terms of digested book 1’s finale, Book 2 mostly focuses on the impact of the murder, even though we see quick glimmers of trauma from the other painful incident at the end of book 1 with Ocean. Much like her mother, Ocean seems very much in care for others mode at first, and then later more determined to answer some shocking questions that arise- she really doesn’t have the emotional strength, nor for much of the book the emotional support from others, to digest what has happened- which unfortunately isn’t all that abnormal for a person who experienced what she did. The events of this book cover a pretty short period of time, which means that this will still be very much fresh for us to experience with Ocean in book 3. About mid-way Sheridan kicks this plot into overdrive- twist after twist, tension after tension, emotional punch after emotional punch. Characters shock us, revelations floor us, and the impact is nothing short of nuclear.

At the end we are left with a sticky situation that is clearly going to be one of the main conflicts in book 3 and then we are SMACKED with a game changing, incredible jarring and emotionally painful cliffhanger. SHERIDAN! Good thing Book 3 is not far off. Since this is only halfway through the series, we do have a lot of loose ends and balls in the air- so expect non closure! We have so many questions to answer, and I know book 3 is going to be an even more epic ride!

I love the writing in this book.

I love the sassy, sarcastic, funny style of Sheridan Anne writing in this series. She makes characters relatable and likable.

Ocean has always hid behind her boys The Black Widows. She believes she is the BIG BAD. But she was really tested this whole year about how BIG and Bad she is. She been through hell and back. Ocean can be a bit problematic especially when she is face with who Nic is. I didn't think it was fair of her. She would pretty much BOST, about how she has her boys in the back of her pocket. Sure, she never saw anything but she knew who Nic was and what he was able to do if needed.

Oceans has some big family drama when realizing who her father truly is. Maybe it's in the gene? ( Y'all read the book you know what I'm talking about.)

Colton ..., oh my baby Colton your finally had the decency to grab your balls and know what the fuck you want. I was really waiting for that. And I love how Colton and Nic are so different. Nic is scared and I believe he is going to do something that Ocean can never come back from. Colton is like a little pandora box because he can hold his own with Thugs and Board Members of Rich Ass Companies. That is something who is dangerous.

My poor baby Charlie. Ugh, I love him. I just want to hold him. He needs someone. I need to be that someone..., maybe. Colton can have it tho!

I really loved how Ocean is not being a little pretend boss bitch and really is becoming independent. She is finally cutting off the lies ( safety blankets.) She is taking college and her life seriously. She is being honest with her feeling about Colton. She is now seeking revenge ( ON HER OWN)

This book was sexy.
This book was fun.

I enjoyed it so much.

After that cliffhanger I had to continue reading this story, Colton and Ocean's story had me hooked from the start and now I need to read them all. The twists in the story make it way better than expected and it's a great addiction you can't seem to stop, you simply read it non-stop. The audiobook is narrated by Lessa Lamb and she does an amazing job, I really enjoyed it.

“You may be a fucking king around here but you’re also a cocky fuck,” I tell him with a laugh.

OH MY GOD! I am so glad I have all four books in this series BECAUSE THESE CLIFFHANGERS ARE KILLING ME! I cannot believe the whirlwind of emotions in this book, but I’d be lying if I didn’t admit I loved every second of this book. I don’t know how Sheridan does this, but every page has me completely hooked and needing more! I feel selfish needing more of these characters, more of this action, and more of these sexy scenes! It was all extremely well-done from the plotting, to the writing, to the development in characters! Emotions are high right now in book two, and I can only imagine what book three is going to have.
————————————————————————-
This second book has given us some super happy... and super scary changes in characters. Oceania is still learning so much about herself and I love being on this journey with her. While she’s still a badass, her softer side is starting to come out. As for Colton? OH MY GOD, SWOON! Holy shit, who would have thought this bullying asshole would grip my damn heart so tight. This second book had me absolutely fall in love with him, I was giddy while reading! However... Oceania’s boys? Nic, Sebastion, Kai, and Eli? They are a force to reckon with, and I am anxious to see the force they bring in book three.
————————————————————————-
If you are looking for a series that starts as a bully romance, and quickly moves to a steamy as hell, mysterious read, then this series is for you. Trust me, you won’t expect what’s happening because this author genuinely does a great job at story telling.

I would give this novel 5-staggering-stars😏✨
Steam rating: 4.5🔥

This is book 2 in this series Rejects Paradise. This is a dark bully romance that carries straight on from book 1. It was a gripping read that will have you feeling it all.

Ocean is a bada** and she doesn't take crap from anyone and she doesn't care about any consequences or what would happen. She still has so much drama and tension from her old life and her new one that seems to be clashing together.
Colton is still trying to ignore any feelings that he is having towards Oceania but it's getting harder. The connection is strong between them both and they are both fighting it, until they cant.

This book is full of twists and turns and dark shockers with secrets all over the place, especially from the guys you wouldn't expect.
I absolutely loved reading this book and the characters were amazing. Ocean is a strong woman and I felt for her on so many levels reading this book. I loved that this author brought her to life and made her so real for us readers that I felt so much for her at times.

I loved all the characters in this book even the side characters were great, Milo is freaking amazing. I love all the drama, suspense and angst and the chemistry between them both is sizzling hot. I love this authors writing style and that she can grip me right from the off. After that ending, Wow, I can't wait to read the next book, this is a fantastic start to an awesome series and I can't wait to read book 3 in this series

Read. The. Trigger. Warnings.

I cannot emphasis that enough, this book is great but it definitely fucking broke me for a hot minute.

In this book we follow Ocean in her journey to help Colten find his father's killer all the while still going to school and trying to get good grades. Ocean as we know from Tough Sh*t is not one to break very easily. She is a strong willed woman who knows she can get places, solely by being herself. Just because she isn't from Bellevue Springs doesn't mean she can't run with the big boys and time and time again Ocean proves that.

Colten is struggling to find his place in life after his father is brutally murdered forcing him to take over a business that he never wanted in the first place. Colten slowly moves away from Ocean to only end up right back where he started, realizing he needs her more than anything.

Cocky F*ck is the second book in the Rejects of Paradise series by Sheridan Anne, and if you haven't read it yet, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU DO. If you like dark romance, heavy suspense, MC's rising from ashes and all in all a great world and character development this is the book for you!

No rating because I DNF. I didn’t care for the first book especially after the bad writing at the end but I decided to start this second book anyway because I have a really hard time not finishing books/series that I start, but I just can’t to this. There’s still over 1000 pages left of this series and I there’s no way I can’t stick it out that long. I’m finding myself skimming the majority of the FMC’s ramblings to get straight to the dialogue and yet I never miss anything because what she’s constantly rambling about is just filler. It’s slow and dull.

My final straw just came down to this last example of bad writing:
The beginning of chapter 11- at 4am MMC Tells the FMC that she needs to go to bed and get some sleep because she has school tomorrow. A couple of hours later, at 7am, she gets a phone call and during that phone call she is asked what she is doing up so early on a Saturday morning. So basically the author forgets what day it is from one page to the next.

I really enjoyed this author’s other series called The Boys of Winter, so I’m sad to have to complain about her writing in this series and I’m super sad to DNF.

Loving it!

Omgggggg the second book really ramped things up in this series! The drama and suspense was intense!

Ocean and Colton finally got their sh*t together despite every and anything trying to pull them apart. There was murder, secrets, betrayal, SEX and everything else you could want in this book!

The steamy scenes were 🔥, Colton and Ocean’s chemistry was just palpable and when they finally came together it was just explosive. I loved seeing their relationship develop and improve in this book as I really believe they are soulmates!

The mystery is in the story really increased in this and I can’t wait to find out all the secrets that are going on behind the scenes! And it also ended on another cliffhanger so straight onto book three!

It was definitely a page turner from the beginning to the end and I couldn’t get enough of this book!

Get ready for a wild ride that will have you in your feels! I loved the chemistry between these characters and the push and pull. There’s always a fight between them and in this one we get to see of Colton and ocean’s relationship.

This book definitely had my emotions all over the place! I wanted to throw my kindle in some parts but also couldn’t stop reading!

In my review of book one I said that this series was slowly becoming my favourite from Sheridan Anne, book two just sealed the deal. It’s hot AF, the characters are becoming more complex and the storyline is evolving beautifully!
Cocky F**k continues with Colton figuring out how to rule as the head of the billion dollar companies, be an eighteen year old student and be the head of a house. We meet mumma Carrington and the twin she-devils, we find out more about the Black Widows and the rival gang then we get a glimpse at some of the issues to come.
I thought that book one ended on a cliffhanger... book 2 has it beat in every way.
Welcome to Bellevue Springs. You’re in for one hell of a ride.

I'm actually enjoying this series which is shocking as I find the main character Ocean a little annoying, like she's great, got that independent, raised rough and loving it vibe and she wants more for herself, she wants a life more then what has been put in front of her and I love this but her world revolves around me vibe grates on my nerves lol not enough to stop me from needing more and wanting to know what happens next so yeh 4 stars!!!!!

Once again Sheridan Anne has hit me with another AMAZING book. This is the second book in the rejects paradise series and continues Ocean and Cole’s story. This story was filled with even more angst, betrayal, mystery and heartbreak.

I don’t even know how, but this series has blown me away again. There was so many secrets in this book that are slowly starting to unfold and each one shocks me more than the other. I literally could not put this book down no matter how much stuff I had to do.

Once again I’m a sucker for Ocean and Cole’s romance. They just get better and better, sex is also a bonus. This cliffhanger in the first book had me dying for more and I was not disappointed. It is worth the wait... trust me. Ocean once again has proved to be one of the strongest heroines I’ve ever read about and I can’t wait to read about her in book 3.

Though she disappointed me with her thot behavior in book 1, this was one that was worse. She really demonstrated being the trash that she was called.
She sold herself over and over to Colton, left her "boys" behind than called them names, especially Nic when all they have done was look out for her.
She was the equivalent of a piece of shit.
I haven't disliked a female character this much in ages.
