Where the dead won't die

Days from a cure for his lupine curse, Jason takes an urgent mission.

A medieval invader has returned to a remote corner of Eastern Europe. Backed by seven undead knights and a zombie horde, Lord Drago threatens the region’s oldest province with ghastly force.

Drochia is like nowhere the Legion team has been before—a land of brooding ruins, savage wolf packs, mass graves, and secrets that lurk as quietly as the ever-present mist. Even their cheery client seems to be hiding something.

But as the Blue Wolf wages high-caliber warfare against Lord Drago, mysteries peel away, exposing horrible truths. Is his team saving the innocent or sacrificing them to an even greater evil?

And are they too late to save themselves?

Brad Magnarella writes urban fantasy for the same reason most read it – to explore worlds where magic crackles from fingertips, vampires and shifters walk city streets, cats talk (some excessively), and good prevails against all odds. It’s shamelessly fun.

His three main series, Prof Croft, Blue Wolf, and Maddy Deeds, make up the growing Croftverse, with nearly a half-million books sold to date and an Independent Audiobook Award nomination.

Hopelessly nomadic, Brad can be found in a rented room overseas or hiking America's backcountry.

Audiobook review

While I do have the ebook of this, I listened to it. I enjoyed the mix of paranormal and action and elite team. I love the characters and the story as they sucked me in.

Two weeks left in Jason's contract with Centurion before he allegedly is going to receive the cure to return him to human from his current blue wolf form.
He and his team head to Moldovia on a contract with an unnamed client. There are people missing from a village (again) that they need to find out what happened.
Facing undead, without their backup team for a questionable client, what could go wrong?

Wolves, Vampires. Zombies, oh my!

I loved this book, it is action from beginning to end. The plot also moves forward nicely. It answers some question and opens a ton more. Just when you thing you have it figured out, there is another twist. It ends in a double twist which is kind of a cliff hanger but I am not awaiting the next book to see how the double twist plays out. Highly recommend this series. It is not your typical Werewolf story/series at all, it is very different and on steroids.

Good story. Action almost from the first word. Twists and turns you don't see coming. This is not some predictable, cut and paste werewolf story. Even if you haven't read the prior books you still find this a good read. Some questions are answered but a few more arise. You'll want to get your hands on the next book when it comes out to see how things play out. Bottom line, read it and enjoy!

Something fishy with purdy

There has always been something fishy with centurion the blue wolf knows it but has been promised a cure so he could go home to his wife he would move heaven and earth to do so. Their band of “killers” has come together like a well oiled machine and has been called on for one last mission before Jason gets his cure and goes home to Dani. He’s told he will not like or be happy with who/what their client is but he wants to go home- It’s fishy no Pre planning no over sight no real info who their client is just a population is in danger and the client will provide the lab with something really important Jason asumes it has todo with his. Cure and finally agrees this time his team is asking questions the ones he usually does but they end up agreeing go to this small unknown country get to the gates and they are Not allowed their normal vehicles etc. they must wait for some one to come get them they are shocked at what shows up and are informed vehicles will be provided by their client. Finally they agree see what a twisted tale they fall into the client is not what he seems to be and lions and tigers and bears are not the issue but werewolves maybe definitely read glued to my tablet till finished!( we had no power in the house but that didn’t have much to do with it......

Jason is exhausted and he is nearing the end of his contract with "Legion," a division of ''Continental.'' He is looking forward to being with his wife Dani, but first he hopes that Continental will come through with a cure for his wolf enchantment. A last gig and he has two weeks to go. Unfortunately this mission fills him with mistrust and he soon learns that he really can't trust those he should be able to trust. Sarah may not deserve his trust, but he can't prove it. His boss? He needs to find out more. He finds he doesn't even know if he is on the right side in this battle of monsters. He also finds that revenge may not be as sweet as he thought it would be. Finding out that "Hindsight is better than foresight," he finds he may have made a bad decision about revenge versus wife and we as readers are left with a heck of a cliffhanger. Now all we have to do is put our big boy or girl panties on and wait patiently...or not... for the next in this series to see what Blue Wolf does next. An excellent addition to this series. I voluntarily read and reviewed this ARC book.

Will Purdy have a cure for Jason

This last assignment working for a vampire and a trow was difficult to deal with. Jason and his team was dealing with a God and wigts who was taking over all surrounding towns and villages, as well as the Chateau that his clients lived in. The end was the Client and the God has to fight and whoever won got all the land and the People in it. As luck would have it the marriage ceremony provided the needed magic to end the God and his Wigts. After the team left to go home, Jason found the vampire that killed his friend when they were children. Jason avenged his friend and came back to base to confront Purdy. Who acknowledged everything Jason a accused him of. Jason got a call from his wife who was in the hospital with cancer and needing treatment. Purdy was calling for Jason to get going with another team and his wife was begging for him to come home that she needed him. What will he do?

With just two weeks left on his contract with Centurian , and a cure in his future, Jason is looking forward to starting his life with Dani.

Just one more mission, for a very mysterious client in a tiny principality. All is not what it seems and the team run into problems they certainly weren't expecting. An age old feud, a curse and Jason's past haunting him, it all spells one heck of a mission.

As always with Mr Magnarella, a tight, well told story with action and character arc beautifully twined together, this is a story you won't want to put down.

Jason was Spec Ops in the Stans when he was cursed to be a giant blur wolf. He transferred (or something) to a special mercenary group who were not only active but promised a *cure* for the curse. Cue numerous adventures in a testosterone fest/snark fest with even a few visits by Prof Croft! These books might be able to stand alone but they are so much more when read in order, and this one is every bit as riveting and all as each of the others!
The audios are performed by James Patrick Cronin who is fabulous.

Jason and his team are on yet another mission lacking necessary intel leading to interesting twists and turns for the group. The action is fast paced yet still allows for character development. The book's world is further pulled into gray areas with more secrets, betrayals and reveals setting up even more dynamic and consequential adventures to come.

Awesome!

This book has some new supernaturals in it. We are at a castle owned and guarded by a vampire. He is battling zombies and deaths and skeleton warriors. They are trying to save the villagers. Some of the people are Fae. Lots of twists and turns and shocking revelations at the end. Great series!! Love it.

White Flag

I really like Magnarella's work. This one was fast paced, constant and well written. If you like paramilitary adventure I think this will suit you. I'm not interested. Good character interaction, but there's no reason for the hero to be called a blue wolf.
I don't think I'll invest the time in another paramilitary genre tale. I'll wait for Professor Craft.

I have loved all of Brad Magnarella’s books1

The Blue Wolf books and Prof Croft books by Brad Magnarella are a rollercoaster from the first word to the last. If you have not read any of Brad’s work start at the first book in either series and read them in order. They will make more sense that way.

Mist, zombies, animated skeletons, dire wolves, I could go on but you will have to read. Had a hard time putting the action filled story down. Lives of a small country are at stake. Definitely will add this to my collection.

Suspenseful

Jason Wolfe has fulfilled his end of the Centurion bargain once again with twists, turns and gun to the head negotiations that saved the day, his team and the mission. I’m still waiting for his team to transition from teammates to a supernatural family. It feels like they’re growing closer during each mission.

I’ll wait for the final book, because Brad Magnarella has peaked my curiosity.

Good Read

It’s interesting to see the past in the present of the metaphysical worlds collide. It’s good to know that some of the things that are legendary bad people can actually become a legendary good people

This book kept me on the edge of my recliner. It bristled with action. The characters and storyline were great as usual. But all the books.

Another great book.

Well I'm a little sad. I have one book left and then I'm done with the series. It's been quite a ride and I have enjoyed every minute of it.

Wow! Fantastic continuation of this series. I was engrossed and engaged throughout the story. A few of the characters had some laugh out loud lines that I didn't see coming. I am already excited for Book 6, the hook at the end (no, it's not a cliffhanger!) has me anxious to see what will happen next.
